    Can anyone recommend relatively simple and inexpensive project-management apps that will sync between Mavericks, iPad and iPhone?
    I am interested in a simple way to keep track of personal projects that will cloud-sync between my iMac, iPad and iPhone. Ominfocus seems to be the type of thing I need, but to purchase apps for all three devices would be $140.
    I have been using Apple's Reminders app. But, among other things, it doesn't seem to print items including notes of actions, conversations, etc. In addition, Reminders doesn't seem to allow enlarging a task or reminder to better read the notes.

  • Basic flowcharting/project-management app?

    As a small business owner, I'm discovering that lists are just not enough to help me track my deliverables, deadlines, and dependencies.
    I'd love an app that graphically displays my short- and medium-term goals and sub-tasks  - basically a very scaled down version of MS Project.
    The main contender I've found so far is Pagico - I'm trying out the free version.  Pagico's flowchart functionality, while much better than nothing, seems limited.  I don't think it manages dependencies, and it seems to look ahead only one month.
    What other low end flowchart and project management apps exist for the Mac?  Surely there must be something between Pagico's $20 price point and the professional $150+  project management tools?
    Thanks.

    If you happen to use Microsoft Office 2004, the Project Manager in Entourage is actually quite good. I started using it a few weeks ago.
    There are a bunch of open source web based project managers that you could setup pretty easily on your system as well. That with the use of MAMP, you could easily setup something up for free in no time.
    I did run across this this which was directed towards writers, when i was looking for some sort of project manager a few weeks ago.

  • A good project management app?

    I'm working on a large project (a book) and am looking for something to keep my deadlines together and to break my work into manageable chunks. I know there are a lot of good programs like OmniPlan, but I just need to plan out my own project—I'm not coordinating a team or working with other people—so a program like OmniPlan is way more than I need. Does anyone know of any good personal project management software?

  • How to link Projects Management  Apps

    Hi All,
    I am practicing the packaged applications provided by APEX site. They are very cool apps and I am very thankful they give it out free :).
    We are using these apps to manage and track our different projects, like the Timesheets, Project Task Manager, Project Software, Project Issue Tracker.
    My problem is how do I link the apps to point to a single project table (the parent table)?
    Please help me.
    Thanks a lot,
    Sam

  • A Project Management App?

    I'm not certain of the best forum to ask this question, and since CC is expanding, I'll post it here with the hope of receiving feedback.
    Does Adobe produce software that competes with Microsoft Project?
    I ask because since I subscribed to Creative Cloud over a year ago, and because of the recent improvements and upgrades made this last week, I find that I am using Adobe products more than I am Microsoft... and I really need a central and stable platform where my projects can be managed (beyond the Adobe Story / Premiere Pro integration ).
    Thanks

    Nope, but yes, would be nice if Adobe provided an asset and time tracking tool or service via CC plus some planning/ collaboration management stuff...

  • Unable to Open Project Site Access Denied Issue (Project Manager)

    Hi
    We got an issue that one project manager is having 12 projects, in that she can able to view 5 projects-- project sites but remaining 7 projects --- she is not able to open the project site (access denied) error is throwing when she try to open.
    She is the project manager of the 12 projects and having project manager permissions on the project sites.
    Please suggest any solution for this.
    Geeth If you feel that the answer which i gave you is Helpful please select it as Answer/helpful.

    I believe I've found the fix for this issue.  After opening a ticket with MS support and not getting anywhere with this issue I decided to do an in-depth review of all the Project and SharePoint 2013 CU's starting with December 2013 to September 2014.
    To my amazement buried inside the July 2014 CU was a hotfix for this issue described almost word for word. (I will list all the relevant KB's at the end)  I contacted my support engineer inquiring about this hotfix and he stated it wasn't relevant because
    the "Synchronize Project Web App permissions to Project Site" was not failing or even generating any warnings in our Prod or Test environments.  I stated that is not always an indicator as ULS doesn't always catch all relevant errors.
    I informed him that I also found a second hotfix pertaining to the same issue released August 2014, apparently the first hotfix in July didn't totally resolve the issue and a second hotfix was released.  He was adamant that this would not resolve
    our issue and he requested or production databases because he was unable to replicate the issue in his test environment.  The reason, you may wonder, is because he was at a higher patch level that our farm.... Obviously!  His farm had the most current
    CU which included the hotfixes from July and August.  Apparently he didn't see the flaw in his logic.
    I decided to install the September CU on our test farm. Low and behold that fixed the problem, even though MS support stated the hotfix was not relevant to our issue.  I learned a long time ago to take MS support comments as suggestions instead
    of gospel truth, this isn't the first time they have confidently given me erroneous information.
    We are currently doing further testing to verify that this CU didn't break something else.  Unfortunately these rollups are not GA and Microsoft is very clear that you should only install them if the hotfixes pertain directly to your issue.
    Finding the hotfixes was a chore as Microsoft loves to create multiple KB's for the same thing and then nest (bury) them so you have to dig through four or five KB's to find the relevant fix.  I'll save you the trouble and list them below.

    September CU Webcast Brian Smith and team go into depth explaining why this issue has been happening and how they fixed it.

    Also, after you provisioned PWA, are you able to get to the server settings? Did you do any configurations with PWA or using the defaults?
    Are you trying to add the project using the FarmAdmin account or did you add yourself as a resource with project manager role?

  • How to incorporate live tiles into a Project Siena app (kinda)

    Hi guys,
    I have been playing around with getting some live tiles into my project siena app (Astronomy Action Centre), and at last I have managed it.
    What I did was as follows
    Publish your app as normal and import it into Visual Studio
    When you have it imported paste this code into the init.js file. I pasted mine into the following location of that file. Near the top of the file (just before the var statements)
    CODE TO PASTE
    var notifications = Windows.UI.Notifications;
                    var recurrence = notifications.PeriodicUpdateRecurrence.hour;
                    var urls = [
                        new Windows.Foundation.Uri("url1"),
                        new Windows.Foundation.Uri("url2"),
                        new Windows.Foundation.Uri("url3"),
                        new Windows.Foundation.Uri("url4"),
                        new Windows.Foundation.Uri("url5")
                    notifications.TileUpdateManager.createTileUpdaterForApplication().enableNotificationQueue(true);
                    notifications.TileUpdateManager.createTileUpdaterForApplication().startPeriodicUpdateBatch(urls, recurrence);
    END OF PASTE
    What you need to do now is replace the url1,url2,url3,url4,url5 with data sources.
    I got mine from http://www.buildmypinnedsite.com/en
    This site creates live tiles for your webpage but we are going to use the datasources for our app.
    Enter the RSS details of the site that you want to have as a live tile into this site.
    Here is the RSS url from my own site
    http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/
    follow the steps through to the last one and you will get a code like this
    <meta
    name="msapplication-TileColor"
    content="#000000"/>
    <meta
    name="msapplication-notification"
    content="frequency=30;polling-uri=http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=1;polling-uri2=http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=2;polling-uri3=http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=3;polling-uri4=http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=4;polling-uri5=http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=5;
    cycle=1"/>
    Now copy the links below in place of the url1,url2,url3,url4,url5 in the code we pasted into visual studio.
    http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=1
    http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=2
    http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=3
    http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=4
    http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://www.viewfromascope.com/feed/&amp;id=5
    Now save and run your app, if you browse to your Start menu and pin your app you should see the live tiles updating.
    the caveat is that you have no control over the layout of the tiles, it seems to work best in wide and square format, the large tile updates but keeps repeating the same news.
    So there it is live tiles on a project siena app.
    if anyone can add to this I would love to hear from you, or if you have any questions please let me know.

    If you aren't going to use a live tile on an actual website, you don't have to use buildmypinnedsite dot com.
    Here is a template. If you have multiple REST/RSS sources, you can use different sources for each of the 5 items that are cycled. They can be from different sites. You need to check if images in the feeds are enclosures. If they are, then the feed won't
    work properly. You can use text and image based feeds or text only, just don't use any that have enclosed images. Here is a template you can copy and paste. replace the red text with your own customized information.
    var notifications = Windows.UI.Notifications;
    var recurrence = notifications.PeriodicUpdateRecurrence.HalfHour;
    var urls = [
    new Windows.Foundation.Uri("http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://whateverrssfeed1&amp;id=1"),
    new Windows.Foundation.Uri("http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://whateverrssfeed2&amp;id=2"),
    new Windows.Foundation.Uri("http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://whateverrssfeed3&amp;id=3"),
    new Windows.Foundation.Uri("http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://whateverrssfeed4&amp;id=4"),
    new Windows.Foundation.Uri("http://notifications.buildmypinnedsite.com/?feed=http://whateverrssfeed5&amp;id=5")
    notifications.TileUpdateManager.createTileUpdaterForApplication().enableNotificationQueue(true);
    notifications.TileUpdateManager.createTileUpdaterForApplication().startPeriodicUpdateBatch(urls, recurrence);
