Project Manager - Plan & Task & To-do
By wu yu
Want money back, it's a lie.
After paying and downloading, it’s not the same as App Store preview.
The app doesn't work. Can't believe the App Store allows such junk.
Where is any common sense of quality control?
Everything's a lie, and that's a fact and I want my money back!
Can someone responsible on it?
I will stop posting unless somebody help me solve this.

  • Incorporation of project management plan into sharepoint

    Hi,
I dont know if this is the intended forum for asking this question.
I have  a business problem of integrating Microsoft Project Plan files into SharePoint and then generate reports from it.
Could you please let me know the process or a link where i can find the know-how for integrating with SharePoint and at the same time also handle the risks/issues and other Project management activities.
    Thanks

    Hello exploreIT,
SharePoint 2010 has a service on top of it called Project Server 2010.
This product actually has things like Reporting (they have Cubes for things like projects, assignments but also risks) and Project Workspaces (SharePoint site templates with Risks & Issues lists).
If you want to know more about the integration I can suggest this article on Technet:

  • Is Oracle Project Management has all features which Microsoft Project Plan?

    Hello Experts,
Customer wanted to start using Oracle Project Management suit completly along with little Microsoft project plan. as of now most of the projects are using microsoft project plan for project management and Oracle Project suit is for Costing and Billing.
But in order to start this initiative, we need to explain the difference which Oracle Project Management can not able to do but Microsoft project plan can. Based on this management will take the decesion.
As per my understanding, Orace Project Management can perform all the tasks except scheduling. As it supports scheduling from third party software like Microsoft project plan / primavera etc.
Rest I think Oracle Project management suit is equally matured to perform all the project management task which Mircosoft project management can perform.
So experts , can you please confirm my understanding and provide me some light on this topic.
    Thanks :-)

    Hi,
First of all, I would like to know what are the various things you are performing with a Microsoft project plan apart from scheduling the resources to a specific project .
Through Oracle Project Management, you can control the visibility of a resource, assign it to a particular project and control the tracking of the time in various assignments. If that is what you are trying to achieve through Oracle Project Management icnluding the other features it has, you can surely go for it.
Let me know if you have any doubts on it.

  • How assign a "Project Manager" for a new project?

    Hello,
I need to know about the "Project Manager" in a new project.
Does the "Resource Manager" build the team and assign a "Project Manager"?

It totally depends on your organization process.
Normally PMO creates project, build team, assign resources to tasks, then while save and  publish the projec assign Project manager as owner for the project plan.
If you have Resource manager in your organization then he can build the team for the project publish it then PMO or project manager can assign the resource to the task then save and publish the plan.
IF project manager has idea about resources then he can also build the team and assign resource to the task.
Note :- once PMO or resource manager build the team and publish the project then Project owner need to open the project plan add new field in the plan STATUS MANAGER and select his name for all task for which he will give the approval to the actual of the
    task send by resources.
By default who ever will create project act as STATUS MANAGER for all the task.

  • SAP PS & SAP Project Management

    Hi all of you,
Can any one give me clarity on the available functionalities in SAP Project Systems and that of SAP Project Management. My requirement is, my client is using one Project Management tool, where can get all the project monitoring and as well as Project cost and revenue with Dashboards. I am implementing PS to take the accounting data from the tool, to get integration with FI,CO, SD, and MM. In their Project Management tool apart from the cost management, they have Change Management, defects management, test management, process templates, life cycle templates, project goals with specific and project performance monitoring like dashboards. Actually, I am taking the interface part like WBS, Planned cost, Schedules, Resource cost etc.. I am unable to take the non accounting data to SAP PS.
My doubt is, can we implement SAP Project Management module to replace the tool, since in PS we have FI and CO data with schedules, for example. If I required the same things, non accounting data like Defects management track, change management, testing management, which SAP module we have to implement. More over, my client is also wish to discard the tool, if the same functionalities available in SAP.
Please correct me, if I am wrong and also suggest me how we can get the same things in SAP.
    Thanks & Regards

  • A good project management app?

I'm working on a large project (a book) and am looking for something to keep my deadlines together and to break my work into manageable chunks. I know there are a lot of good programs like OmniPlan, but I just need to plan out my own project—I'm not coordinating a team or working with other people—so a program like OmniPlan is way more than I need. Does anyone know of any good personal project management software?
    iMac 24"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

If you happen to use Microsoft Office 2004, the Project Manager in Entourage is actually quite good. I started using it a few weeks ago.
There are a bunch of open source web based project managers that you could setup pretty easily on your system as well. That with the use of MAMP, you could easily setup something up for free in no time.
I did run across this this which was directed towards writers, when i was looking for some sort of project manager a few weeks ago.

  • Best project management software for mac

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best project management software or strategic planning software for imac??
    Thanks

If you are willing to spend money on professional tool with free support, if the team get's large, I would ask you to look at ConceptDraw Project. If you are dead set on open source and "free" software I would say that Redmine, Bugzilla or any other that has been around a while, and looking for plugins to make it suit your needs is one of your best bets.

  • Project management software?

I am looking for a package that works well, adheres to the Mac look and feel and otherwise helps to plan a project.
Gannt charts and other graphical representations are the key. I want to represent the different work streams so everyone can 'see' the project. Critical path analysis and other project management features are important if it impacts how people can visualize the project. I am not trying to micro manage the resource costs or other details so I can sacrifice some features for ease of use.
    Your thoughts and specific recommendations?

    OmniPlan or Merlin.
    Thanks.
    Do you have a favorite?
I noticed that Merlin is integrated with NovaMind so I can create a mindmap and then use the mind map to start building the project plan.
I happen to use OmniFocus so I am familiar with the Omni Group. No experience with OmniPlan. Actually, I knew one of the founders back when they were a NeXT developer.

  • Project Management Layout Integration?

i was trying to print my year view on a piece of paper and find this cannot be done without doing a screenshot. also, the conventional calendar layout is not good for me and i would like more OPTIONS such as a linear left to right yearly view or a linear top to bottom yearly view. i need to plan a project and have been searching for a way to do this.
does anyone know if there is anything that will /integrate/ with iCal that will let me get more of a linear layout or that will give me actual appointments in my yearly view? i am having an issue with printing this obviously and have taken a screenshot of the yearly view and then copied the left hand side and copied the right hand side and i now have a yearly view on 2 - 8 1/2 x 11 sheets but this is only practical for reference.
i would like to find something that would INTEGRATE with iCal but give me something more like a GanttProject layout (for project management) or that will show me the year starting at the top and working down in a more linear fashion. i used to have a printed calendar like this and it was fantastic.
does iCal integrate with a calendar i can use in FileMaker?
    thanks for any tips...

  • Project management in SAP Solution Manager (SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and RMMAIN)

Please help me to understand this better u2013 whether this is a gap in the functionality of the SolMan, whether I expect too much, whether it is expected to work in a different way.
In transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN one can create a project.
In transaction RMMAIN one can create a roadmap u2013 this is a more or less detailed project plan that can even be exported to MS Project. Via RMDEF and RMAUTH it is possible to create a custom specific roadmap. This specific roadmap can then be assigned via SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and RMMAIN to the newly created project.
However, it is not possible to modify the roadmap once assigned in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and created in RMMAIN.
This means, as a consequence, that it is not possible to use the Solution Manager as the one and only project management tool.
To specify this further. Usually, in a project, once you have created the roadmap and the overall framework you add all the detailed steps, and all single tasks that are required. As this is not possible in SolMan one needs to use other tools (MS Project) for this. But on the other side the SolMan project plan and roadmap has to be updated frequently to be able to keep track of the progress. So this ends in double work. Manual effort is required to keep this consistent. And it also hardly makes sense to create a new roadmap just to add these small details. With all this in mind itu2019s hard to convince our customers that the SolMan is really a that big benefit for implementation or upgrade projects.
    - have I overseen something?
    - has SAP designed this in a different way?
    - or does SAP oversee this need?
    Many thanks & best regards,
    Peter Müller

    Hi
    1) Is deleting older documents is definitely going to improve response time of searching. You said 'yes' but just wanted to double sure.
    Yes
    2) This program deletes all unsed and de-linked document. I can understand 'De-linked' but not 'Unused'
    i meant the samething
    3) Deleting documents based on user id is big problem. We have almost 800 Users in SolMan, who has used this project form last 5+ years. So all these 800 users have to go into multiple selection of user id
    Try giving *
    4) I tried this on our sandbox (SP19 Level) which has shown all unused documents which can be deleted. But this deletion has to be done one-by-one. In our production, if we have 10K+ documents, i assume almost thousand or more will be residing as de-linked in KW
    Try giving *
    5) Any Documentation available on this program.
Learnt by experience but you can check some sapnotes below
Note 1124579 - Using SOLMAN_UNUSED_DOCUMENTS to delete unused documents
Note 1377997 - SOLMAN_UNUSED_DOCUMENTS: No deletion conf. for each doc.
    Hope above clarifies

  • Project management sofware to aid InDesign

    I stumble upon this
articlewhich features 43 compared project management software alternatives and I am still having problem on what to choose that would be perfect for InDesign.

    Graham,
    Have you considered doing this:
Use InDesign and generate the number of pages needed for your publication.
Setup a separate layer called 'flatplan'.
Set-up different object styles that would apply a different colour for different content-zones (e.g. editorial, ad etc.), and include in the object-style a paragraph style reference and text-inset so that you can also type some details for each content-zone (e.g. ad-number or something).
Once you've completed the flat-plan in InDesign
You can communicate to others for instance by printing it as thumbnails  (In Print > Setup, enable Thumbnails).
You could even use your publication template for this and just add the flatplan related layer and styles to it.
As long as you use a separate layer for your flatplan info, you can change that layer to 'non-printing' when production is completed, and you can also use it to retain status information for your publication during the production process.
It's not automatic... but if you've already got InDesign its definitely not costing you anything extra ;-)
I'm not aware of a flatplan plug-in for InDesign. I did come across:
Mao Workflow http://www.ccimagazine.com/Subsites/Products/product/MAOWorkflow_web.pdf but have never used it, maybe some other forum visitors have?
