Project Name space

Hi,
What is the use of Project Name Space when we are creating webDynpro iView? Is there any other parameters we have to specify?

In my project also we have faced same problem.after developing almost objects of a interface..clients asked 4 the namespace change. thats the problem...with XI and PI...i dont know wheather PI 7.1 will having the option to copy whole namespace.....We have found the only possibility is to create a new namespace .And manually copy all the objects...into the new namespace...
u can copy directly Message interfaces...(u need not copy data type and Message type) <b>and remember to check the option "With all dependency"</b>..
then automatically data type and Message type will be copied...
u can't copy Interface mapping and Message mapping :(..
u have to do it agian.......

DVD Title Not Same as Project Name...huh?

Hey Gang,
Burning multiple copies of a DVD slideshow project for a small nonprofit.
The subsequent DVDs are reading "My Great DVD" instead of the project name.
Does anyone know why, or mor importantly, how I can fix this?

Naming a DVD disc
By default, the name of the final DVD matches the name of your iDVD project. You can change the disc name so the final burned disc has a different name.
To name a DVD disc:
Choose Project > Project Info. Type the new name in the Disc Name box.
DVD titles cannot have spaces. If there is a space in your DVD title, it is replaced with an underscore (_). The only characters that can be used are the numbers from 0 to 9, the uppercase and lowercase characters A to Z, and the underscore (_).
Note: If you want to change the name of the project too, choose File > Save As and type a new name for the project. Now you have the same project with two different names. You can delete the first one if you don't want to keep it.
"My Great DVD" is the default title system w/in iDVD6 application. If you delete a title or simply forget to name the project, iDVD will generate this title to keep track of all iDVD projects. You can't get rid of this feature in iDVD to the best of my knowledge other than renaming the project.

BPC & BW name spaces

HI!
the past week a principal consultant came to help us with a project and he told me something very interesting but quite rare at the same time. He told me that BPC and BW work in diferent work spaces so BPC replicates the things that you have in BW, to its name space including the data. So .. is this true ? and if it is true then in my case that the info that i have stored in BW is about 1TB, then I have to have a disk space of 2TB?, one for the BW namespace and the other for the BPC replicated info?

Yes, BPC Netweaver maintains its configuration and data in a separate namespace within the host BW system. There are some really good reasons for this:
1. One of the guiding design principles of BPC was to allow the business users to control their own application. By separating the BPC application and its associated data into a separate namespace the business user is free to make changes to data models and master data as they see fit.
2. Master data can be migrated into the BPC namespace, but many customers also need to add to this master data (such as for organization simulations). This modified master data is typically not intended to be shared outside of the planning group. By separating master data into is own namespace, BPC allows the business user to import master data from existing BW sources, and then allows it to be modified without any enterprise wide reporting consequences.
3. Hierarchies are similar to the master data discussion as well. Many times a business user will simulate a hierarchy change, but this change should not be made visible outside of the planning group.
The duplication of data is not really 1:1 as stated in your initial comment...typically you plan at higher levels than the data exists at the original transaction. For example, most business users will only require BPC data at a monthly time bucket or at a product group.
Also, the import process can be easily be configured to be fully automated, same for master data import as well! Check out the How To guides on these topics in Service Marketplace.

How to add folder/project name to a File Naming preset

Here's a tip to automatically add the name of the Project or its parent Folder to the filename during Import or Batch Change.
I always used a custom field for adding my client's name to the filename upon Import or Batch Changing versions or masters. But often I would forget to change the custom name, and since it's auto-populated with the previous entry, I'd end up with a bunch of files with the wrong client's name on them. That looks kind of bad. So once I saw with Aperture 3 you can add the Project name or Folder name when relocating referenced files to the new folder structure, I was excited to be able to do the same for the filenames at import. Well, no such luck. They're not an option when you create a custom File Naming preset.
However, I recently decided to poke around inside some plist files, and found a workaround. I discovered the format string for Folder Name is %F and Project Name is %P. The trick is getting the code into the Format Field where you create the preset.
Create a new File Naming preset by choosing "edit" from the Version Name menu during Import or Batch Change. Drag everything you want in the name into the Format field, and enter %F or %P where you want the Folder or Project name. The tricky part is that you can't insert it between two existing criteria. It only works at the very end. After you have it in place, you can drag the criteria around to get it in the order you want.
The alternative method is to insert the code directly into the plist. PLEASE, always make sure you're working with a copy and have a good backup when you're poking around in such things. If you have trouble getting the code to take from within Aperture, you can try this. Same as above, create a new preset, but this time, enter an F or P where you want the Folder or Project name. Give it a unique preset name and save it. Then Quit Aperture. Navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/FileNamingPresets.plist, and make a copy of the file, then open with Property List Editor. Dropdown the plist and then dropdown the item you want to edit. You should recognize it by the preset name. Now the easy part. Click in the FormatString field and insert the % character before the F or P you entered in the Format field. Save and you're done.
I discovered later that while the Folder and Project name works just fine during import, for some reason only the Project name works during Batch Change. The Folder name simply creates a "-" in the filename.
In case this is seen as a hack and gets deleted, I'm also submitting it to http://www.macosxhints.com/ and I suspect if anyone from MacCreate sees it, they'll steal it too, as they're known to do.

I do not think there is an out of the box way to do this.
The immediate solution that comes to mind is using a workflow, that runs everytime a document is uploaded/item created, which may be too much for your scenario.

Name Space in Webservice Response is not parsed in BI Publisher

Hi,
I have built the report in BI Publisher with Data Source as Web Service by giving WSDL URL and method Name. I have got the response for the method call, but it has name space for all tag elements. Like
<ns:FirstName>Daniel</ns:FirstName>
<ns:LastName>Victor</ns:LastName>
My report template unable to pick the value from tags as it is taking Name Space also as tag name. It is not parsing name spaces. I tried another report by keeping file as my report source, just by removing the name spaces from the WSDL response message, it worked.
How do I make BI Publisher to parse the name space, such that WSDL response can be utilized as such?

PWA 2010 error when i try to open the project name in Project Center

For what it's worth, given the age of this question, I've found that stopping and starting the Project Application Service on each server via Central Admin is less disruptive to the rest of your farm when using Project Server in a larger SharePoint
farm.
IISRESET will cause active user sessions to be disconnected and could result in lost data.
I also found that recycling the app pool associated with my Project Server web application in IIS and restarting the web site did not resolve this situation so the IISRESET is not a guaranteed fix.
Targeting only the Project Application Service from Central Admin removes this minor risk and actually restored access to our Project Sites.

When I do the function, adobe saves the individual files as "<file name><space><page number>", so the files look like this "filename 1.pdf", "filename 2.pdf", "filename 3.pdf". Without too many gory details, I am using excel to concatenate some data to dynamically build a hyperlink to these extraced files. It casues me problems, however, for the space to be the the file name. Is there any way to change the default behavoir of this function to perhaps use a dash or underscore instead of a space?

No, you can't change the default naming scheme. You can do it yourself if you extract the pages using a script instead of using the built-in command.

Linked content using RH project name for topic title instead of FM file/heading name

I'm pretty sure that was in reference to setting Topic Title markers...not something I want to do in a 700 page book!
More info: The book processes and validates a clean EPUB if I omit the index, and throws 300+ errors when I include the index.
Via Notepad++. the index shows <section name=(the project name)>, so I imagine it's taking offense at the eleventy-six files with the exact same topic identifier.
Anyone seen this before??

Emails being blocked for name space mining

Hello All
Once of our clients email domain is blocked by Microsoft because it detected a name space mining attack coming from the public IP assigned to the client.
We have already reported this to MS support but without any luck. All they sent are a generic script based answer asking us to rectify the issue from our end but based on the information I have I’m not sure if we can get this rectified on our end.
Basically all this started when the client sent a mass email. They have been sending this mass email for the last 2-3 years but one this instance emails to several Hotmail users were not getting delivered and following is the start of the email delivery

After the last of the line then the client exchange server has tried every 2 minutes for the next 2 days and eventually failed because MS blocked the IP addresses.
Microsoft is not providing us any information and asking us to repeatedly to resolve the issue at our end but I don’t know why the exchange server never managed to deliver the email messages because all those Hotmail email addresses are legitimate and live
email addresses.
What does BDAT * LAST means? This is the last SMTP command sent/received before client s exchange server started a new communication attempt.
What are the changes that we can do to the client server in order to avoid similar issues in the future?

Adding a LOV MAP in a Page resulting page (invalid name space error) error

I am trying to add a new LOV to a region in one of the oracle product self service pages.
I am getting the LOV region displayed, but the moment I add lov mappings I am gettting the invalid name space error.

Which version are you using? I believe that adding regions started from CU2. Confirm this.
Did you set the profle FND:OA Enable Defaults? This may not be the cause for your error but I got some LOV map errors because of this. There is a thread in the forum on this.
Ensure that your path and spelling are correct. The error shows ...CostPG. Should it be ...RN perhaps? LOV Regions are usually called RN.
If all else fails open a tar.

How to make project name / no. visible in suppor message?

Hello,
When creating a support message (NOTIF_CREATE), I can provide a project name /project number with the message.
This info is also available, when starting the transaction monitor (CRM_DNO_MONITOR).
But when looking into the message itself, this information is not available anymore.
Where can I make this info visible?
I am assuming, that the project is somehow linked to the support message and that the project is available in principle.
Can anyone provide me a way how to link / show the project within the support message?

How to export images with Project Name to be visable by Photo Mechanic.

Hello all,
I am trying to create another complete set of my images, that can be edited by outside programs (Photo Mechanic and/or Lightroom). I am doing this by exporting the images out of a managed library. I want the Aperture "*Project name*" and Rating fields to be passed to Photo Mechanic. And then I want PM to be able to do queries on the Metadata fields containing the Aperture Project Name and Rating. My intention is to use Photo Mechanic to rename the images and relocate the images but still keep track of the Rating and Project Name.
In Aperture, when I add a custom metadata item under IPTC and export the image, that custom metadata item does not show up in PM or Bridge for that matter.
How can I export images and have the Rating and *Project Name* be exported and visible in PM or LR or Bridge?

There is not an easy way but Ian Wood's tool might help you out.
Personally I would just use the "subfolder format" drop down options available in all of the export and relocate dialogs to sort them into directories that are based on Aperture project name - easy enough considering those other tools use file system based folders for there organization structure anyway.
