Project panel's "Label" column: Locked to left in CC 2014?

In Premiere Pro CC 2014 is the "Label color" column in the project panel locked to always be on the left of the assets' names?
Just wondering since it used to be on the right and moveable in CC.

Yes locked now in CC14.

  • Label Column When Formatting With Mutliple Columns

    When creating a report with multiple columns (setting the Format With Multiple Columns property in the Details section), is it possible to put a label column on the left side of the page, followed by multiple data columns?  The idea would be something like this:
                 8/1/08 8/2/08 8/3/08 8/4/08 8/5/08
                 ====== ====== ====== ====== ======
    Metric Label 1   C1D1   C2D1   C3D1   C4D1   C5D1
    Metric Label 2   C1D2   C2D2   C3D2   C4D2   C5D2
    Metric Label 3   C1D3   C2D3   C3D3   C4D3   C5D3
    Metric Label 4   C1D4   C2D4   C3D4   C4D4   C5D4
    Metric Label 5   C1D5   C2D5   C3D5   C4D5   C5D5
    The date on top will be a group 1 header.  The metric labels to the left will be detail rows.

    Who is turning once again to the CR Gurus...

    Hi Fuskie,
    A quick suggestion will be  to use a cross-tab instead of multiple columns to generate the desired output.
    Another suggestion will be to use a subreport. The main report will be used to type the labels on the left side, and the subreport will be used to display the multiple columns information.
    1. Create a report that will be used as a container for your multiple column report.
    2. Add labels in the Report Footer of the report.
    3. Insert your multiple columns report has a subreport in the Report Footer on the right of the labels
    you created in the main report. On the main report
    In the subreport, if you want to see the Group to appear as columns at the the top, you will have to include the group in the multiple-columns, and I will suggest to format the Group Footer with the option "Print at the Bottom of Page". This will ensure that your Group Header will always appear at the top like in a cross-tab, otherwise, it might display your data like:
                 8/1/08  C2D3
                 ===== C2D1
    Metric Label 1   C1D1   C2D1
    Metric Label 2   C1D2   C2D2
    Metric Label 3   C1D3   C2D3
    Metric Label 4   C1D4
                            8/2/08
                            ====
                            C2D1
                            C2D2

  • Label column in metadata display always on left

    I just downloaded the new pp cc 2014 and opened up my project file.  In the project panel metadata display bar I cannot click and drag either the "label" or "name" column.  I would like the labels to be on the right side of the file names but cannot click and drag them like the other metadata fields.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.  I am sure it is a simple thing that I am missing.
    Thank you for your time.

    This was an intentional change in PPro CC2014. The position of the Label column is now locked to the left of name.

  • Tab between custom meta columns in the project panel

    If you've got a custom meta column in the project panel and you use are editing the previous column and then use the keyboard tab key to move to the next column (the custom meta field), that column is selected but not you can't edit it with out clicking in it with the mouse. This is not the case with built in meta columns such as the "comment" field.
    Does anyone know of any way to tab into a custom meta field and then have a further keyboard shortcut that puts the field into edit mode?

    Ok, found the answer already. Tab and then tab a second time.
    Obviously this seems wrong and would be better if the first tab allowed you to edit immediately.
    UPDATE: Spoke too soon. This is definitely a buggy mess. Sometime tabbing into a custom field makes it editable immediately. Other times, a second tab makes the field editable, sometime the second tab just moves you to the next field. And there seems to be no pattern, I can tab and shift-tab back and forth between custom fields and the behave seems to change at random. I'll log it as another custom meta bug!

  • Feature Request:  Standard Keyboard Navigation in Media Browser and Project Panel

    It's been a while since I've had time to submit a feature request.  I've wanted to see this one for a while.  If you agree, please submit your own feature request here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish/
    System Navigational Keyboard Shortcuts in Media Browser and Project Panel
    Windows (and I'm sure Mac) has a standard set of keyboard and mouse navigational shortcuts for keyboard and mouse.  I'm so used to using them in daily browsing (both in Windows Explorer and in any web browser) that missing them in the PPr Media Browser, or getting a different result in the Project Panel, is still very jarring and slows my workflow (even after having used Premiere Pro [again] since version CS4).
    I propose that the Media Browser and Project Panel should honor the OS defaults for keyboard and mouse folder/file navigation.  A few of the standard (Windows) keyboard and mouse navigational shortcuts are listed below (listed in order of most helpful to my own work):
    Moust Back Button = "BACK"
    ALT + LEFT ARROW = "BACK"
    UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT = steps through the various folders within the view.
    UP, DOWN walks through the directory tree while RIGHT expands the currently selected folder and LEFT contracts that directory (twirl down, etc).
    ENTER opens a folder.
    ALT + UP = "Folder Above"
    ALT + RIGHT ARROW = "FORWARD"
    F2 Renames a folder
    ENTER "takes" that name to the clip. (current functionality used ENTER to rename a file/folder).
    ESC cancels the renaming operation.
    Pressing Enter on any piece of Media or Title, etc should take an "expected" action acording to it's context.  (i.e. ENTER on a video clip would load it inot the Source Monitor.  ENTER on a Title would open it in the Title Editor.  ENTER on a folder would take us into that folder).
    These functions exist in both Windows Explorer as well as most modern Web browsers.  When browsing files and Project folders, it's what I've come to expect.  It's muscle memory, if not intuitive.  I realize that many of these keyboard commands are already in use in other windows/panels of the application, therefore, these commands should be Panel-specific (i.e. ALT+LEFT works differently in the Media Browser and Project Panel than it does on the Timeline/Sequence).  And as always, when making such changes (i.e. changing the behavior of ENTER to F2), this set of keys should be highly configurable based on preference:
    Preference:
    checkbox:  Use OS-specific navigational keyboard and mouse commands in Media Browser and Project Panel
    checkbox:  Use the (very few) "classic" Adobe keyboard commands in the Media Browser and Project Panel
    The most common habit I find myself doing in the Media Browser is clicking the BACK button on my mouse—only to realize, yet again, it doesn't work that way in PPr.
    The most common habit I find myself doing in the Project Panel is pressing F2 to rename a folder/bin.  Of course that doesn't work.  And when I've renamed it, I press ENTER to save the name, but that only moves me to the next folder ready to rename it, too.  I also find, out of habit, I try to navigate the bins using the arrow keys and then open the bin/folder using ENTER.  Instead, my bin is asking for a new name and I hit ESC to avoid renaming it—now THERE's a shortcut that works the way it should.
    I realize this feature may be controversial to some, since it's not the way we're used to doing things in PPr.  However, I'm sure there are just as many out there, like me, who are confounded as to why PPr has never worked with the "conventional" navigation shortcuts found throughout the rest of the operating system, be it Windows or Mac.

  • Hi, How to change date pattern in project panel in order to sort media according to date YYYY-MM-DD and not MM/DD/YY ?

    Hi
    Question is in the title
    I have the list of media and when I add columns from "metadata panel to the project panel, all dates are MM/DD/YY format and sort is not relevant !!
    Where can I change this pattern to the right one ?
    Thanks
    Emmanuel

    If you are on a PC then the instructions shown here should work for you. They did for me.

    You just need to quit out of Premiere Pro after making the change and then start it up again.

  • How to align label text to the left in Spark Button (no "textAlign" style)?

    Hi all,
    "textAlign" style is excluded for Spark Button, and probably for a good reason.
    [Exclude(name="textAlign", kind="style")]
      If I want to align Spark Button text label to the left, should I create custom skin to accomplish that?
    Something e.g:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:Skin xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
            xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
            xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
            minWidth="21" minHeight="21"
            alpha.disabled="0.5">
    <s:Label
            id="labelDisplay"
            textAlign="left"
            left="2" right="2" top="2" bottom="2"/>
    </s:Skin>

        Right, I though about this approach vith setStyle too, but this is not that convenient.
        I looked into source code and find out that spark.components.Button class adds to the spark.components.supportClasses.ButtonBase only one public property "emphasized".
      Because I do not need this property in my project, I've extended my custom LinkButton component from ButtonBase to allow setting "textAlign" style in MXML for this component.
    import spark.components.supportClasses.ButtonBase;
    public class LinkButton extends ButtonBase {
       Also,  inside custom Skin from my Button component I do not set explicitly "textAlign" style value to the button label, I let button label to inherit style value specified in MXML for the style textAlign of my ListButton component.
    <s:Skin xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
            xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
            minWidth="21" minHeight="21"
            alpha.disabled="0.5">
        <fx:Metadata>
            [HostComponent("component.LinkButton")]
        </fx:Metadata>
    <s:Label
            id="labelDisplay"
            textDecoration="underline"
            maxDisplayedLines="1"
            verticalAlign="middle"
            color="{getStyle('color')}"
            color.over="{getStyle('textRollOverColor')}"
            color.down="{getStyle('textSelectedColor')}"
            left="10" right="10" top="2" bottom="2"/>
    </s:Skin>

  • Wrong information in comumns project panel

    I'm using Premiere Pro CS 3.2.0 in windows XP sp3.
    Clips captured with premiere to *.avi files.
    In the project window the column Audio info shows 720 x 576 (1.422) and video usage shows 32000 Hz etc.
    Columns after these are showing also information belonging to other columns.
    The column Creation date doesn't show up with information.
    Capturing with another program shows the same errors.
    Do anybody knows what is wrong?
    John

    John,
    Welcome to the forum.
    That is a new one to me. I'd click on the little right-facing arrow (top-right of the Project Panel) and down at the bottom of the drop-down, Rearrange Columns. I'd uncheck everything, so that all Columns disappear. Repeat, and this time, check the Colums that you do want. Hopefully, when redrawn the X'ed "wires" will be fixed.
    If that does not work, and Column location and info is part of the Project in CS3, Import your existing Project into a new one of the same Preset, and see if this forces the Columns to correct themselves. Here, I'm guessing that there might be corruption in your .PRPROJ file.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Change the default arrangement of tabs in the Project Panel

    With every new project, I'm having to manually re-arrange the tabs in the Project panel to suit my workflow.   Specifically, I'd like to permanenly change the tab order so that the "Good" tab is listed first, followed by Video Duration..etc.
    Can this be done ?

    The Project Panel's Metadata Display dialog allows you to select which metadata properties are displayed as columns. You can save multiple Metadata Display profiles. Note, however, that these saved settings define only which columns are displayed.
    The order of the columns is saved as part of the workspace. To save a custom workspace, set up all the panels, columns, etc. just the way you like, then go Window>Workspace>NewWorkspace.
    With any workspace, if you change things around and want to get back to the saved settings, go Windows>Workspace>ResetCurrentWorkspace.
    By the way, a minor point of terminology, in PPRO parlance "tab" usually refers to the top of the panel that you click to switch among panels in a frame. What you're asking about is columns. One reason that it's worth calling out this distinction is that workspaces save both the tab organization and the column organization.

  • How to keep the horizontal top column letters and left row numbers????

    When working on a table, there is a vertical column on the left of the row numbers and a row across the top with letters that identify columns. I would like to keep this (as in Appleworks) but whenever I click on the table, or use Print View, or Print, these two identifying features disappear! I have tried everything to keep them, but no luck. Is there any way to do this?
    thanks

    Hello
    may you take care of the existence of the Search field on the right side of this forum?
    may you also look at the already existing threads (at least in the first two pages).
    Your question is available four or five rows below yours.
    Using it with the button more options and selecting The Numbers forum
    enter the keywords lock AND title .
    You will discover that yoy may get quick respnce to a lot of questions without asking for them in the forums.
    I know that some posters dislike this kind of response.

  • Sequence In-Out Duration in the Project Panel?

    Using Premiere Pro CC 2014.2, and wanting to view duration of in-out selections of multiple sequences in the Project panel before batch exporting via AME. The media duration display only shows full sequence length. Anybody have any ideas on how to view in-out duration in the project panel (I'm aware the duration shows up in the Program panel when a sequence is active).

    searching for metadata fields, it seems to have no in/out duration.  so might have to request for adobe to add it. Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
    i did notice that if i load the sequence from the project bin into the source monitor, then change the in and out points to match the same as in the timeline, it will change the "video duration" metadata column to reflect the in/out duration. its also possible just to change the "video in point" and "video out point" metadata values in the project bin to get the matching video duration, bypassing the need to load the sequence into the source monitor.  i also noticed when i export the sequence it will use the in/out on the timeline not the source monitor. this workaround adds extra steps, especially if changing the in/out points often.

  • Is there a way to drag video only from the Project Panel ??

    As the questions states.
    Can you do this from the Project Panel similar to how you can in the preview Panel ??

    If you deactivate your source patching on your timeline for all audio tracks (the square patch on the left of the that says A1,A2, etc) It should let you drag in only the video portion of the footage. Just tested it and it works.
