Project Pro for Office 365 vs. Project Pro 2013

Hello,
As I already have Project Pro 2013 installed on my PC (which is able to connect to Project Online) I'm not sure if the MS Project I'm using is Project Pro for Office 365 vs. Project Pro 2013.
Is there any difference in the interface of the 2 products, as there is a noticeable difference between Word 2013 and Word Web App?
Thanks

Hello,
Project Pro 2013 is the same product as Project Pro for Office 365.
Word 2013 and Word Web App are totally different, Word Web App is web based, Word 2013 is the client tool.

  • "project pro for office 365

I was eagerly looking for a project management software and fortunately came across your office project pro 365 product
While looking up on the website office, I had some questions rising concerning
the “project pro for office 365” – 25 dollars/per user/ per month option
It is mentioned that it can be installed on up to 5 pcs.
Here are some questions I would like you to answer to help my purchase. (FYI I am planning to share this software with a team of 5 people)
Does that mean that if I pay 25 dollars, me and my other 4 team mates will have equal access and manipulation of the software(insert/edit)?
Or is it only one person getting some sort of ID and password that give access to Cloud and other 4 people just having the right to view the files(such as Gantt chart etc.)
I was informed that if I go with this option I will have to take
“project online” to have a cloud subscription(extra 33dollars). Is that correct?
If a get an ID and Password, will it be on a single designated PC or doesn’t it matter far as it is among the 5 pcs where the software is installed?
Do you have any other options to recommend considering we are a group of 5 people and want at least 2 people to have the right to have access to the software and be able to write or edit while the other 3 members can view the
    shared files of charts?
Thank you for your answer in advance!

    However, to answer the questions...
    1. That is upto 5 PCs for a single user, not spread across multiple users.
    2. One user gets one ID.
    3. No, Project Online is a separate product.
    4. It doesn't matter.  You can log into one of 5 PCs and install Project Pro for 0365.  If you no longer have access to a PC, you can "de-activate" it using the web, and then install on another.
    5.  Buy 5 licences.

    Hi,
I'm using Project Pro for Office 365 connected to Project Online. Where are stored the settings we saved in

    Thanks

I believe it is stored in the registry setting:

  • How to install Project Online and Project Pro for Office 365

    Hello,
Can someone please explain where can I find reliable and exploitable step by step process to install
Project Online and Project Pro for Office 365. I tried for several weeks with no avail.
All the links I followed led to
    an impasse.
    Thanks for your help

    WLID1966,
I am not sure if there is a step by step process detailed anywhere, but that possible because it is fairly easy to get started. The steps below may vary sligtly because I am using a preview version..
    1) you would sign up for Project Pro for Office 365 from this link (or pursue through your organization) : http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/project/enterprise-project-and-portfolio-management-subscription-project-online-with-project-pro-for-office-365-FX104002972.aspx
    2) Once you are setup with Office 365 account and project online, you would go into the settings as shown below
    3) Once you click on software, you should see the below, and then click Install to install Project Pro.

  • Install Project Pro 2013 and Project Pro for Office 365

Does anyone know if they can be installed side-by-side? From what I can tell it looks like they cannot be installed side-by-side. For example I have a trial version of Project Pro installed, so there's no link in the Start Menu for Project Pro for Office
    365...
    Is there something missing?
    Thanks,
    Roland

    Hi Roland,
I'm not sure I follow your comment "there's no link in the Start Menu for Project Pro for Office 365".  I successfully ran Project 2010 (MSI) alongside a trial of Project Pro for Office 365.
Why do you wish to run both side by side?  Have you considered installing one into a virtual machine?

  • Remaining Installs Available on Project Pro for Office 365

    Hello All,
I downloaded a demo version of Project Pro for Office 365 as I am looking to test/implement the software in my company. I have looked everywhere on the internet to solve my issue but I am unlucky, and therefore I am kindly asking your guidance on my issue.
I am looking forward to install Project Pro, but I am only limited to install up to 5 users on my login. What is this limitation, and is there any way around it. My company setup is quite simple, I want to able to install 10 Project Pro for Office 365 licenses
on 10 manager desktops, and I would like to link the primary account (1 licencse) to Project Online for portfolio management and other related PMO services.
Am I doing it wrong? is there any other alternative to my situation?
We already have MS Project 2007 installed in the system, but we are looking to have more collaboration and sharing services between users. Any other PM offering from Microsoft is welcome.
    Thank you very much

  • Error installing MS Project Pro for Office 365

I have paid for a subscription to MS Project Pro for Office 365, however, when I try to install the product I am getting an Error 3-4 "Something went wrong".
I have a feeling that it has something to do with the fact that I have Office 365 already installed.
I have tried stopping my AV and the Firewall (as suggested on the related error page (which pops up from the URL presented on the Error Box.
    Help?!

    Gerald,
I have gone back and installed project pro for Office 365 on a number of machines that already had O365 so that should not cause you any issues.  Sometimes repairing the exisiting office, then try the install again fixes the issue.
I would second the install all critical updates and reboot, that tends to solve a lot of issues.

  • Project Pro for Office 365 and residual traces

    Hello,
I expect to use Project Pro for Office 365 (the streaming version).
What are the residual traces of files that this software may leave on the local HDD ?
    Thanks

If I understand well, Project Pro for Office 365 (the streaming version) doesn't install itself locally, so we can use it on any computer. I'm wondering if it doesn't leave some dll or Global.MPT on the HDD after we quit Project.

  • Project Pro for Office 365 without Office 365 subscription

I've been looking for hours and can't determine if I have to have an Office 365 subscription to purchase Project Pro for Office 365.  I have a user at our organization that needs Project Pro.  There are no Office 365 accounts.  The price point
of <$30/month seems more attractive than the $1,200 up front cost.
If I do need an account, does that mean I have to pay for the cost of an Office 365 account as well, or is that included?
Can there be an Office 365 account on a computer already running Office 2013?  or will it conflict with products already installed?  I can't believe there's no readily available answers anywhere on their website or under the product information.
Everyone just seems to assume that you're running Office 365 already.

I believe you can purchase Project Pro through a subscription without also purchasing Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  What is not included if you don't have an Office subscription is you wouldn't have SharePoint nor Lync nor Excel (used for Visual
    Reports in Project).
I agree the documentation is confusing but I think the reference to Office 365 is the deployment method of running Project as an SaaS (software as a service) application.
It is reverse of what you are talking, but I successfully run Project as an MSI installation alongside an Office 365 subscription.
One way to check its functionality with your current installation is to install a trial version.

  • Project Pro for Office 365 or not?

    Hello,
What are the differences between the two "MS Project" we can download from these two web pages of Office 365 : are they the same product?
    Your Office, on request
Software: install of the last version of Project:
    Thanks and regards

    You got it Robert!
On demand install will be like streaming (see this
link) on any computer with the latest version.
Whereas the "traditional" Project install will be for one-shot install on your office computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • MS Project Pro for office 35 integration

We currently have 6 office 365 for mid-size business accounts active and are also considering to purchase the MS projects pro for 365.
I have some questions on this subject.
We would like to have 1 or 2 main editors who can create the necessary projects using the desktop environment.
The other users only need to be able to see them in the office 365 share-point environment. (as i understand correctly, opposed to the MS projects standard, MS projects for office 365 supports this feature?)
As I've been told, the MS projects for offcie 365 is only possible in combination with an E3 account.
In this case is it possible to convert 2 of our midsize business to E3 enterprise accounts, or do we need to subscribe every user to the E3 account?
In the second case does each subscriber need to have an additional MS projects for office 365 subscription or is it sufficient to just have this for the 2 main editors?
Just to make clear i am talking about MS project pro for office 365 not Office 365 project online.

  • Project working with Project Online in Office 365

    Hello,
My question is related to project working and using Project Online to track projects.
    * Can I use a single "Project Online with Project Pro for Office 365" subscription for tracking and creating reports about all project sites and their tasks in Office 365?
Meaning, if we have multiple projects designed in Project Pro and then uploaded directly to Office 365, can we gather the task, resource and progress information from these projects (created directly to Office 365) in a Project Online overview? One person
using Project Online to oversee multiple projects, others uploading their projects and changing task information in Office 365 to a SharePoint site with Project Pro and Office 365 subscriptions.
We want to have one person with Project Online overseeing the progress and create reports on all projects that have been uploaded to Office 365 (Project Portfolio Management), but not creating new projects. Is this possible with just one Project Online subscription?
The other users would all have an Office 365 Enterprise 3/4 subscription for accessing Office 365, collaborating and updating their tasks. Project managers would have a Project Pro subscription for creating and uploading projects to Office 365.
    Thank you in advance.

    Helen,
Your question is slightly confusing, so let me try and say it this way:
    1) Your PMs (multiple) will use Project Pro, to create and publish plans to Project Online
    2) You will have one user who will 'administer' Project Online and create reports etc.,
    3) You will not have any other users access Project Online
    4) I am not sure about you 'SharePoint' comment--so excluding this.
The problem is that, Project Pro+Office 365 does not necessarily give you access to Project Online. This combination is more useful when you are using just Project Pro or using project Pro to sync plans with Task lists on SharePoint Site. Plans that are
uploaded this way will NOT appear in Project Online. So, the person who has the Project Online license will not have any data to report on.
Having said that, here are few options:
    1) Stick with Project Pro +Office 365. Team Members can access "Task" lists in SharePoint Sites. In this scenario, Reporting will be somewhat complex, because each site is its own, and you might have to customize to be able to report across multiple sites.
    2) If you want an easier Project Portfolio Management, Project Online is better. However, in this case, your PMs need to get Project Online with
Project Pro for Office 365 which will allow them to publish plans to Project Online. Then your user with project Online license can generate reports for the portfolio easily. In this scenario, if you want team members to be able to submit timesheets,
work with documents etc., you might want to look into getting the Project Lite for them (http://blogs.office.com/2014/03/31/project-lite-may-1st/)
    Hope it helps.
