Project Pro hangs while opening a schedule from Project 2010 server.
Hi,
We have an issue with opening a schedule from Project server 2010. Project client is not responding. when we try to open schedule in PWA. I am getting unable to open file do you want to open in default view. No matter which view I choose keep getting the
same error. The only view i can see resource view however it will not let me edit. I did notice Project Manager had entered resource names first, last name format which do not exist in our resource pool. We can open other schedule except this particular
one.

Obviously, my first thoughts are that this plan is corrupted in some fashion. Entering Resource names differentluy should not cause this issue, they will just not be recognized as Enterprise Resources by the system.
Are you experiencing the issue if you try to open the schedule from PWA? If you are able to open from PWA, try publishing it from PWA and see if it throws any errors.
Also, how about trying it from a different machine?
And finally, it might be worthwhile to check if you have the latest Client Update for Project installed (or atleast matching with the server).
If none fof these work,
a) you could try restoring it from Archive Database (assuming you have a daily schedule backup running)
b) If you are able to open it from another machine, you could use the "Save for sharing" feature to try and resolve any corruption with the schedule itself.

DVD SP 2.05 hangs while opening file
DVD Studio Pro 2.0.5 hangs while opening a project file that until recently worked fine.
The "hang" seems to accur while DVD SP is opening the project's menus. The dialog box "Loading Project" appears and progresses until it reaches "Loading Menus", then it hangs until I click "Cancel", then DVD SP crashes.
I trashed DVD SP's prefs, no success. I even tried to move the project's menu files offline, without success - DVD SP even hangs when the referenced assets are not available to it. All project files that are variations of the main file also hang, all at the same time. I don't think the project files are corrupted, more likely something wrong with DVD SP? Any ideas? Reinstall? I'm a little worried about the project files - lots of work is at stake...
ThanksPreviously when this has happened for folks it has been related to font management. If you have turned off a font that DVDSP uses as a default for the menus then it won't be able to create the menu when it loads. The solution is to turn on the fonts again.

Encore and Premiere CS3 hanging while opening - EMERGENCY
I try opening Premiere or Encore on my Mac they just hang while opening ANY project file that is dated before today. I can make a new project, save it and open it...but any project made before today freezes both programs. They start loading the project and then it just hangs, with the colored wheel staying on screen until Force Quit is used. I have months of work done on this project and am literally 2-3 days away from completion, and backup projects won`t load either. I need some serious help on getting this resolved before I lose my mind and seriously contemplate quitting film altogether.
I have 3 gigs of ram, 2 x 2.66 Ghz dual core Intel xeon and CS3One thing to try... create a new project and then import the old project into the new project

Getting error while opening Excel document from SharePoint site
Hello All,
I am getting following error while opening Excel document from SharePoint site.
This issue appears when we open Excel document from Windows>> Run using below mentioned command:
Excel.exe "{File Name}"
If once I go to Excel back stage and browse for the SharePoint location, then this problem disappears.
I have a work around for this issue but main problem is that i do not have any work around when i need to open Exel document using Excel COM interop in C#.

MS Project 2010 Server
How to move a single MS Project plan and it's SharePoint project site from a PWA server to another PWA server (one at a time)
I have 2 Project PWA servers, i know how to copy all the databases (Publishing, Draft, Reporting, archive, content) from one SQL server and copy it to the other PWA server so both server can be identical.
I need to only move a single project from a PWA server to another,
Moving the Project plan, actual time data, SharePoint site with all it's content
Is there a 3rd party tool that can be added on to the server to help me move single project plans? to different PWA servers?

Project 2010 Server - Users loosing permissions to Projects
Hi all.
I am having an issue where some of our users are loosing permissions to certain projects. It is not always the same ones. It is even ones that they own.
I have done some searching through the forums but cannot seem to find the same issue.
Has anyone come across this or know what could be causing it?
We are running Project 2010 server on SharePoint 2010 platform.

May be users to whom access has been given manually and after every publish and change resource permission they were loose the permission to project site.
Choose only one approach described below then you will not face the issue
1.either Check to automatically synchronize Project Web App users" in PWA --> Server setting so that all the resource who are present in Project build team get the access.

When you have this enabled, it doesn't sync all of the Project Web App users from the top level site, it only syncs users to the project site that should have access based on the following rules:
Project managers who have published a project or who have Save Project

(Microsoft Project Server) site group.
Other Project Server users who have View Project Site permission on a
project are added to the Readers (Microsoft Project Server) site group.

Error while Opening PDF attachment from Mail

We two Output Types created ZNEU and ZAUF. Two Smartforms are created for the same Output Types. The Issue now is, When ZNEU triggers and send a mail the document is properly decoded and gets opened but for ZAUF it doesn't. It says File damaged.

Error while opening a popup from managed bean
Hi,
I am trying to open a popup from bean, after another popup is closed. When I open the second popup either through ActionListener(on first popup button) or DialogListener(on first popup), I am getting the below error on browser status bar(!); and the second popup doesn't open. There is no error in the log.

Please tell me why my popup is not getting open from the managed bean and I am getting an error in below line.

Now look for the popup in the component tree shown on the left side. When you have found the popup shuffle it the the selected side and click OK. The string you see in the field is the full address of the popup related to he component you've selected. Try the string you see there in your bean code. Remove the string from the partial trigger property, it's just to get the correct path.
One other thing to check is that your popup has the ClientComponent property set to true.
Next thing to try, is to use AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId(...)

InDesign CS5.5 and CS6 Hang while opening document

I have the following problem:
Indesign CS5.5 CS6 and hang up several times a day when opening documents on. the user can not make more in the program and must kill the process. After reopening the document opens without problems (probably the recovery file). I have tried all known solutions (delete Preferences, user with admin privileges, delete caches, safe boot, ...)
here a hang report, which meanwhile has been created.

Firefox Hangs every opening, but loads from internet to "home".
After downloading Windows Live Essentials 2011 Firefox (and Windows Explorer) hangs on opening every time though it is my primary start page. I can open it by internet access (i.e. windows update) back to "home". Are there problems with live essentials?
Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
Also, if you have some kind of security software installed which scans links like AVG Safe Search, AVG Link Scanner, McAfee Secure Search, McAfee Site Advisor, or some other kind of anti-phishing tool, try disabling it. -
Getting correlation error while opening document library in SharePoint 2010
Hi,
I installed SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 and SharePoint 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Everything went fine for first days. Now I am getting error while opening any of the document libraries. However lists are opening fine.
Error:
An unexpected error has occured.
Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation
Correlation ID: fa54267f-4436-8298-c7698977728c
I checked the logs, I showing some error with the line http://Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles/GetProfileProperties

Whether you have granted the user proper permissions on this site. You should make sure the user has permissions on the site.

Hi,
I have a powerpoint presentation (will call it A.PPTX) which has an embedded spreadsheet object (B.XLSX). I was able to double click the object in "A" and open "B.XLSX" as and when necessary.
today, i opened B from the A and inserted another spreadsheet C.XLSX as an object in B. Closed all the files and saved A.PPTX. when i tried double click and tried to open B.XLSX from the powerpoint, i am getting an error "There isn't enough memory to
read worksheet"
Unfortunately, i don't have a backup of B.XLSX as I always edited it by opening it from the presentation. is there a way to recover it?

By the description, you want to recover the embedded worksheet in PowerPoint.
Try following methods:
1.Click to the presentation file
2.Change the file extension from pptx to zip
3.Open the file, locate to ppt>embeddings
4.There you will see the embedded worksheet
5.Save the file to another path and open it
If the worksheet is still corrupted, following these steps to recover an Excel file:
1.Change the file extension from xlsx to zip
2.Open the file, locate to xl>workbook.xml
3. These XML files contain the data of each spreadsheet.
4.Copy the data to a new worksheet and save

Could not open Address Book from outlook 2010
Hi,
While trying to open global address book in outlook 2010 (exch 2010) it freezes the outlook and displays a message

Hi,
Based on this error, please try the following steps to solve this issue:
Open the EMC 2010 and browse to the Toolbox, double-click on the Public Folder Management console.
In the tree navigate to System Public Folders > OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK.
In the window pane right-click and go to the properties of your OAB causing the errors.
Choose the Exchange General tab and remove any " " (spaces) from the Alias.
Save your changes and try to run "Get-GlobalAddressList | Update-GlobalAddressList" to update GAL.
