"Mock Conversation" is not an SAP related term. It differs from client to client or between different consulting firms how they use it.
Some 'mock conversations' mostly mean a discussion or talk between your team members and you to understand how exactly will it be when you will be in fornt of the client or onsite. Mock Conversation may also mean to create a computer program for interaction between the system and the end-user.
It all depends in what context you are asking.

    1. Cut over plan/strategy - when a project is about to go live, we need to have paln how and when we will stop using the legacy system/process and when the new system/process will be available to the users. What are the actions to be performed to make sure the change over is smooth. Ex if a change in the process for automatic payment is to be implemented, we need to plan -  till when the user should complete the pending payments using the old process, what actions are required in the production system to set up the new process and from when the user will start using the new one.
    2. Steering comittee is the comittee comprising of the project owner which will include the director/CFO/CIO who has approved this project and is responsible and answerable to the board. This project managers report to this committe. The committee reviews the progress once in a month. The main functions are  - Directs the efforts of the SAP Project Manager and the Customer Project Manager and the project team; Ensures that the project results meet the business requirements and are developed according to the organizationu2019s policy; Is oriented towards quick decisions (within three to five working days)
    3. KPIs are measures which are used to evaluate the performance of an individual or team. Based on the scope of work or job profile, areas are identified which are crucial for the process. The individuals or teams performance in these areas are evaluated and rated. KPIs are frequently used to "value" difficult to measure activities such as the benefits of leadership development, engagement, service, and satisfaction.
    4. Roll out project is a project where an existing system is copied and used with minimum customization where as in step by step implementation the entire system is set up. Ex - XYZ company decides to implement SAP. This becomes a step by step implementation. Noe XYZ company decides to start a new business as its subsidiary and wants to implement SAP for the new company, this will be a roll out as we can just copy existing settings for the company code already implemented for XYZ and do customizing only specific to the new business.

    1.)If i am using the continuous output mode.and the size of generated data is less than 32 MB.If i want to preload the memory,what should i do?I want that first of all i load all my data to onboard memory & then i want to make start the transfer between 6534 & peripheral.Is it possible?As per me it should be.Plz tell me how should i do this?I think that in normal procedure the transfer between 6534-peripheral & outputting data from pc buffer to onboard memory works parallely.But i don't want this.Is it poss

    (2).Similarly in finite input operation(pattern I/O) is it possible to preload the memory and then i read it?Because i think that the PC memory will be loaded automatically when 6534 acquires the data and then when we use DIO read vi the pc buffer data will be transferred to application buffer.If this is true,i do not want this.Is it possible?
    (3) One more question is there if i am using normal operation onboard memory will be used bydefault right?Now if i want to use DMA and if i have data of 512 bytes to acquire.How will it work and how should i do it?Please tell me the sequence of operations.As per my knowledge in normal DMA operation we have 32 Bytes FIFO is there so after acquisition of 32 bytes only i can read it.How it will known to me that 32 bytes acquisition is complete?Next,If i want to acquire each byte separately using DMA interrupts what should i do?Provide me the name of sourse from which i can get details about onboard memory & DMA process of 6534 specifically
    (4).In 6534 pattern Input mode,if i want to but only 10 bits of data.and i don't want to waste any data line what should i do?

    I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.
    1) It is definitely possible to preload data to the 32MB memory (per group) and start the acquisition after you have preloaded the memory. There are example programs on ni.com/support under Example Code for pattern generation and the 6534 that demonstrate which functions to use for this. Also, if your PC memory buffer is less than 32MB, it will automatically be loaded to the card. If you are in continuous mode however, you can choose to loop using the on-board memory or you can constantly be reading the PC memory buffer as you update it with your application environment.
    2) Yes, your data will automatically be loaded into the card's onboard memory. It will however be transferred as quickly as possible to the DMA FIFO on the card and then transferred to the PC memory buffer through DMA. It is not going to wait until the whole onboard memory is filled before it transfers. It will transfer throughout the acquisition process.
    3) Vishal, searching the example programs will give you many of the details of programming this type of application. I don't know you application software so I can't give you the exact functions but it is easiest to look at the examples on the net (or the shipping examples with your software). Now if you are acquiring 512 bytes of data, you will start to fill your onboard memory and at the same time, data will be sent to the DMA FIFO. When the FIFO is ready to send data to the PC memory buffer, it will (the exact algorithm is dependent on many things regarding how large the DMA packet is etc.).
    4) If I understand you correctly, you want to know if you waste the other 6 bits if you only need to acquire on 10 lines. The answer to this is Yes. Although you are only acquiring 10 bits, it is acquired as a complete word (16bits) and packed and sent using DMA. You application software (NI-DAQ driver) will filter out the last 6 bits of non-data.

  • Two related questions:  ColdFusion 10/Java applications and J2EE supported servers

    I have two related questions:
    1.  CF10 and integration with Java Web applications
    We have a couple of Java applications running on JRun and interfacing with CF9 applications.  The JRun clusters were created through the JRun Admin and, apart from lack of Axis 2.0 support, have served us well for years now.  And, as would be the case, the ColdFusion9/Java/Flash application is a critical public-facing application that the business uses for bidding on projects.
    It appears that with ColdFusion 10 on Tomcat, we will not be able to run those Java applications on a Tomcat-CF10 JVM cluster.  Is this correct?  IF so, what are our options? 
    2.  J2EE Application Servers supported by Adobe for CF10
    Which of these is correct?
    A.  This URL (http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion-enterprise/faq.html) states "ColdFusion 10 supports IBM® WebSphere, Oracle® WebLogic, Adobe JRun, Apache Tomcat, and JBoss."
    B.  This URL (http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/coldfusion/pdfs/cf1 0/coldfusion10-support-matrix.pdf) states:
    "J2EE application servers: WebLogic Server 10.3, 11.1, WebSphere Application Server 7, ND 7 JBoss 5.1, 6.0, 7.1.0"
    I *think* "A" above is wrong re. support for Adobe JRun.  It does not specify a version of Apache Tomcat unless it is simply referring to the custom version the comes with CF10.
    Option "B" above shows no support of Adobe JRun or 'standard' Apache Tomcat.

    Question 2:  No answer yet:  Is Apache Tomcat (NOT Adobe's customized version) supported for CF10 J2EE deployment?  I do not see any installation instructions on how to install CF10 on Apache Tomcat 6 or 7.
    Is anybody using Apache Tomcat as their J2EE app servers and, again, NOT Adobe's customized/limited version?

  • Ap cancelled invoice - project related

    Issue:
    Ap cancancelled invoice - projects related
    Basically an invoice was created in ap in 2002 and was later cancelled in 2009 that had not been paid yet. The credit invoice amt then came into projects...by this time the project is closed.
    Question is has anyone created any solutions for these type of problems, there appears to be no enhancment request...i would love to hear what type of solutions are out there.
    I would say ap should not leave unpaid invoices on their invoice registers for more than a period of time..but I want to hear other solutions out there or thoughts.

    When you match a supplier invoice to a PO, the system copies the distributions from the PO to the AP lines.
    There is no way to override the PO distributions on the AP invoice.
    Therefore, if the PO has no project distribution the AP lines generated from that PO will not be project related neither.

  • Project Management Question - timelines for Production system deployment

    Hi
    I need an expert advice on setting up timelines for establishing an Oracle Apps Production environment. We are implementing Oracle HR & Payroll at an organization.
    Our system architecture is a 2-node application tier and 2-node DB tier (RAC). RAC is configured by another party and we only have to prepare the application tier (2 nodes)
    We would be installing Oracle Apps R11i (11.5.10) with jserv load balancing on the 2-nodes
    Can anyone suggest how much time this should take to install/configure & patching of the application tier (on 2 nodes)?

  • Project Billing Question

    Hi All,
    I have couple of Project billing questions. Hope you can help
    1)A wrong customer was attached to project billing agreement, funding and base line also completed for the customer.
    Now we realized that its wrong customer and want to change it to correct customer.
    What are the options we have here?
    Can we delete or end date the billing agreement?
    will the funding be release from the wrong customner after deleting or end dating the billing agreement?
    2) Wrong customer attached to a project..agreements,funding,baselining are NOT done.
    How can we delete this customer and add the correct customer?
    The option to change the customer is grayed out.
    Appreciate if you can help.

    On your first question you said the agreement was created for wrong customer. Since you already baselined the funding, I assume you have that customer linked to the project.
    You can go the Agreement form and  enter a negative funding line allocated to the same project. The total allocated amount will be zero. The agreement is now not allocated and free to be allocated to another project. If it is a wrong agreement you may update the agreement amount to zero.  Now create a new agreement for the right customer.
    The open issue is with the project. You have a wrong customer associated with that project. However, system will not allow you to remove the customer - project record.  Solution depends on the way the project was setup. Did you enable customer at top task? if so, end date the top task and create an alternative top task with the right customer.
    If the project has been set with a single customer you better close the project and start a new one.
    However, if you need an alternative solution, I can suggest a custom method. Go to Help > ..> Examine and change the existing customer of the project to zero contribution.
    Now you will be able to add the right customer to the project and have 100% contribution on it.

    Hi Ashish,
    cProjects being a part of the PLM package, you would need to undergo SAP PLM certification. As per my knowledge, there is no separate cProjects suite certification available.
    However, there are training programs conducted by SAP for cProjects and xRPM. You may get the details regarding these from the marketplace. Please refer https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/partnerportal/apj/home

    Hi Srithar,
    The size of the Maintenance does not matter for the SAP Solution. The Basic requirement you need to capture is the nature of Expense.
    Will that expense be dealt as OPEX (Operation Expenditure) or CAPEX (Capital Expenditure).
    The so called Big Maintenance or Annual Maintenance are OPEX, then they will still follow standfard process and Order Types. If you want to distinguish them from the rest of the Orders, based on quantity you can judge to have seperate Order Type or a revision if they are less in quantity.
    If it is CAPEX, you can choose the route of WBS if you have PS in the scope. If no PS in scope try Investment Order (PM07 in standard IDES). This will help you accumilate costs to AuC and then to Asset.

    Is the following thing possible on project related OTL timecard (12.1.1): -
    1. Make the comments (under additional details) field mandatory.
    I could locate the layout file but not sure what to change on the layout.
    Any sheds of light would be highly appreciated.

    I think its a Optional Field. I got below information related to Projects from Implementation Manual.
    "Detail Layout (optional), which you can provide for Projects users or any other
    layout that requires a Detail page (accessed from the Detail button on the Timecard
    page). On the predefined Projects layout, the Detail page is for entering comments
    and other information against each row displayed on the timecard."
    If you acheive this through some other means then plz do share with us in this Forum.

    I am new to ODI.
    There are two repositories - Master and Work.
    I have read that ideally master and work repositories should be in different schemas.
    Where should we put our project related tables? In Master/Work or should i create a different schema for my project related tables?

    Master repos contains set of SNP_* metadata tables which stores information about Security Manager, Topology Manager and Versions, so whatever objects u create in those components will be stored here.
    Work repos contains set of SNP_* metadata tables which stores information about Designer and Operators so whatever objects u create and logs will be stored here.
    So for project related tables its suggested to create a dedicated schema for not to mess up with repository schemas.

    When user enters a Misc transaction he has to update the field Account on the Transaction form.
    That would be the debit account of a misc issue transaction, The system will creadit the material valuation account of the Inventory organization (based on setup).
