Project server 2013 - PWA: My Tasks page is not loading and disabled

Hi
i had an issue that suddenly occur for one of my users (just to him).
My Tasks page is not loading, it shows "Loading" in the middle of the page and stuck that way, and also the Ribbon buttons are disabled.
Anyone knows what could he had done to make this happen?
The print screen is in Hebrew but i described what appears.

Hi Ofir,
I've had a similar issue in a previous version of Project Server. A corrupted assignment was causing this in my case. I found the corrupted assignment using the following procedure:
Retrieve all published assignments & related projects for the user (in the database)
Open each project one by one in MS Project & set the 'Publish' value to 'No' for the user's assignments and publish the project
Everytime after publishing a project, retry to open the Tasks page
At a certain moment your Tasks page should work again and you know now which project/assignment is causing the error, just replace the corrupted assignment by a new one and it should work again

Project Serial Number column in Project Server 2013 (PWA)

Hi All,
Whenever any new projects are created on Project Server 2013, they are arranged automatically by Alphabetical order. So i would like to know or need support through which i can create serial number column in Project Center so that projects are aligned. as
per numbers.

Hi,
It is actually 2 questions.
First you want to create a unique ID for projects? Here is an excellent
blog about this subject.
Then you want to sort projects along a number? It could be a custom number field or the unique ID above. You just have to go to the server settings, manage views and go to the "sort by" section and select your number field.
Note that the field used to sort the project center view must be in the view to be used as a sorting criteria.

After Migrating to project server 2013 some of my Mpp are not opening in project professional

After migrating to project server 2013 from 2010. my some of mpp are not opening in project professional.
project professional taking some time and then showing checkin error. There are no logs on project server to this issue.
but you can see these project in project server 2013 without issue. I have also tried the EditLink function. but result is same project professional not able to open. Check in error.

Can you try this:
Open one of those Projects in PWA to edit in the browser
make a slight change (new dummy task etc.)
Save and Publish from the web
Close and check in from the web
Wait for the jobs to complete
Open project professional
try and open the same project again from there

Since the update loaded on my computer my web pages will not load and i get invalid url message

Ever since firefox updated to 17, my web pages will not load. When I type in the search bar and hit the enter button, the address switches to https and i get a message stating that my page is an invalid url and the following message

I have cleared my histories and cookies and restarted my computer but cant get it to work.
I can type in www.google and go directly to the google page and then gain access to my pages, just not through the firefox address bar.

Task column not editable in Project Server 2013 (PWA)

Hello,
is that possible that Project's task column which are published on PWA cant be editable for any Project Manager, Team members?
We have a scenario where my management team wants that after creating project from MS Project Professional 2013 (where we have provided standard template for projects to chose from ) needs to published on PWA. After publishing it, no one can't modify
task name in Projects but can add task if required.
Is it possible??

For the field:
Go to server settings, enterprise custom fields and lookup table,
Click on Create
Select task type, then formula,
Click on the field selector button and pickup the [task name] field under the text group,
Save.
For the view:
Go to the server settings, then manage views,
Select the view in question under "project" (for example tasks details)
In the field section, select your new field from the left side and add it to the right side,
Select the default task name field from the right side and remove it (it'll go to the left side),
Validate.
To validate:
Go to the project center and open your project,
Navigate to the schedule PDP and select your view tasks details)
Click on "edit" to open the project schedule,
Publish the project plan and check that your field is there and cannot be edited.

Project Server 2013 PWA resource view

Hi all,
Is there any way to see the detail information of a resource in PWA? In Project Professional 2013, we can check all the task\project the resource is assigned and all the planned work for the resource under resource usage view. However, we can not find it
in PWA. Any suggestion?

Hi Anna,
From the resource center, you can select one or more resources and check for their availability. You'll have a graph will all resources assignments by time periods and projects with a grid for the details.

Project server 2013----new custom field value is not synced between my work assignment view and project professional

Hi All,
I would like to add a new custom enterprise field in project server to caculate the effective work. I hope it can work as the default field "work" and "overtime work". And I add my custome enterprise field to my work assignment and the
related details view. User can update the values in "my task" but after PM accept the updates, these values are not synced to the project center as well as project professional. Any idea?

Yes, I am saying that the PM cannot see the updated values in the enterprise project in Microsoft Project 2013. It is a task custom field. No errors for it. Would you please help create a task custom field on your side to see whether you can reproduce
this issue? After creating the field, please add it to the "My task" related views so that project members can update the value for the task when they update the task information under "my tasK" page. After that, open the project plan as
project manager to see whether you get the updated value. Thanks a lot!

Project server 2013 PWA - Can't open project in PWA

When attempting to open a project in PWA the following message is generated:
An error occurred while opening your project. Give us a few minutes and try again. If this happens again, contact your administrator.
It happens in all PWA sites.
In addition you can open and edit the projects using Project Pro without any problem.
Any suggestions?

Can you run the below command in SharePoint Management shell:
set-spprojectpcssettings -maximumworkerscount 260
Once done restart the Project Services and then check the behavior.

Using latest version of fireFox to access Think Central, pages will not load and they say that this is a security issue with FireFox?

Teachers in our district are supposed to use www.thinkcentral.com with FireFox.
Some have no problem accessing the lesson plans.
Most when they login click on a lesson plan and an icon shows up that says loading but never does.
If you reboot the computer and login you can open a page once but not a second time and no other lessons will open.
Think Central support says this is a security issue with Firefox.
I have updated FireFox, all the Adobe, Reader, Flash, Air and Shockwave. As well as Java.
I have allowed the pop ups to the think Central web site.
Any help would be appreciated

Are there any notification icons on the left end of the address bar? If so, please click them to see whether they related to security issues (such as blocked content - shield icon: [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]]) or a plugin requiring permission (Lego-like icon).
Does Think Central have any help pages about this issue? Without an account, it is difficult to explore the issue first-hand.

I have an Ipod touch 3g and it seems since I did the upgrade to iOs 5 it started running slow and pages would not load and time out. Now I don't even touch the screen and apps appear and random things happen. It just starts typing letters randomly.

I have done a restore to back up per the Apple guy that was nice enough to help me at Best Buy. Basically it is totally unusable as I don't even touch it and it just starts typing. I told my husband it's like it is possed. Any ideas?

iOS 5 does slow a 3G iPod somewhat but not the way you describe. I would try restoring to factory defaults/new iPod. If you still have the problem then it apears that you have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

In FireFox 9, loading secure web pages running on non-standard ports works just fine. In FireFox 10, those same pages do not load and a "The connection was reset" message is displayed.

How can this be fixed so functionality returns as per FF9 and below?
This occurs on any secured website running on a non-standard port, with FF10.

I don't think this is restricted to Firefox. I've noted this behaviour with IE9, Firefox 10.0.2, Opera Mobile (on my phone) and Chrome(latest version) with my Linksys E3000 router (I access it from https://<IP>) and my 3ware RAID card management suite, 3DM2 (I access it from https://localhost:888 ).
Notably, the only thing amiss that I've been able to see in the certificates (I'm no expert) is that the one from Linksys has issue and expiry dates in 1969 and 1970 respectively. However, I don't think this is the cause since 3DM2 has proper looking issue dates and has the identical problem.
Coincidentally, I noticed this happening after a fresh reinstall of Windows 7 x64 with virtually nothing installed on it (FF, Office 2007), so I don't think it's something wrong with the other software on the machine.

Access Project Server 2013 from personal mobile device

This is something great about Project Server 2013 (PWA) where users can view theirs task & other information on their personal mobiles, tabs etc. But i not able to access my company Project Server 2013.
Is that i am missing something to install or configure PWA 2013 as i am admin for this application?

That means your PWA site collection in not published externally so your mobile device can't resolve the DNS. If you connect your mobile device to the same network your Project Server environment is on, it will work as the DNS would resolve. You probably

Project server 2013 csom save and publish

Hi,
In Project server 2013 PWA when you edit project custom fields and save the queue job execute the following jobs:
- "Project Update from PSI"
- "Project Publish Summary"
- "Reporting (Project Publish Summary)"
In my code (CSOM) i can only use : " QueueJob Job = projChechedOut.Publish(true);"
which is creating all these jobs:
Project Update from PSI
Project Publish Notifications
Project Publish
Project Checkin
Prepare Project Web App Permission Synchronization For Projects
Reporting (Project Publish)
Project Workflow Check-in
Synchronize Project Web App Permissions to Project Web App

Is there way to "simulate" the save from PWA instead of fully publishing the project using CSOM, because it is a lighter solution since my code is supposed to only set custom field value (if i only update, not publish it is written to the
Draft) and secondly performance (less jobs) is better ?

I am wondering if the equivalent method exists in CSOM. There is this method: PublishedProject.UpdateVisibilityCustomFields() but it seems doing exactly the same thing as publishing a DraftProject.
Any ideas ?

Project Server 2013 - Project Plan crashes frequently

We are using EPM , and everytime we update the project plan using enterprise project, the plan crashes and it does not allow me to publish the plan on the Project server.
Please suggest solution for the above

First of all, is your Project Server 2013 system updated with the latest Cumulative Updates and/or with Service Pack 1 (just released yesterday)? If not, I would strongly suggest that you update your system and your copies of Microsoft Project 2013
with Service Pack 1 at the earliest date possible.
Second, regarding this project in particular, I would strongly suspect that this project is corrupted. To resolve the corruption, you will need to use the Save for Sharing feature in Microsoft Project 2013. To do this, right-click anywhere on
a ribbon tab in Microsoft Project 2013, such as the Tasks tab, and then select the Customize Quick Access Toolbar item on the shortcut menu. In upper left corner of the Project Options dialog, click the Choose Commands From pick list and select
the All Commands item. In the list of commands on the left side, select the Save For Sharing item and click the Add button to add it to the list on the right. Click the OK button when finished.
To use the Save for Sharing feature, do the following:
Open the enterprise project in question.
Click the Save for Sharing button in the Quick Access Toolbar.
In the Save dialog, save the MPP file to a location where you can find it easily, such as your computer Desktop, for example.
Close the MPP file.
Reopen the MPP file.
Click File > Save As and then save the project.
When the Save operation is done, try publishing the project.
