Project Server Resources won't load in Project Pro

We have three Project Server 2010 instances. On two of them, we can download the entire resource dictionary (10K resources) without any problem to Project Professional. On the third one, we can only download about a thousand at a time.
We don't see any errors in Project Pro, we just get a blank resource sheet. When I review the event log on the computer running Project Pro, we see four error application events:

We closed Project Pro, added a "Timeout" value (DWORD/32-bit) to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\MS Project\Settings and set it to 600000 (decimal ... 600 seconds) and then re-opened Project Pro
But problem in slow connection to PWA. And we can't find the reason.

IDVD won't load large project file..Help!

iDVD won't load large project file once I close the program for the first time since finishing the project. Basically, I made a compilation DVD of numerous individual files spread across quite a few folders/sub-menus totaling about 236 minutes on a Dual Layer DVD+R. I closed the project prior to burning but now, iDVD gets the rainbow wheel everytime you try to load that particular project. What's the deal?
Notes:
-iDVD does still load if I want to load another (smaller/simple project) or start a new one.
-I've tried to start over from scratch a make the exact same project. When I exited out and went to load it, it did the same thing.
-I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and iDVD 7.1.2.

Final Cut Pro won't load my project.

I have an external hard drive that I keep all my projects on and today I tried to load a project, but it won't load,
I have attached a screenshot below, it has been stuck like this for the last 4 hours.

Just to add a to Al's advice, working within the FCP X UI, try to copy one of the events (not the troublesome one) to the new library. Let us know how you make out.

I am on a wifi Network. Girlfirend's Macbook got no problem with Facebook on the same network (she got snow leopard installed)
Facebook WILL load when i connect my computer directly to the the modem, bypassing the router.
Facebook will load when i use Windows 7 on VMWARE.
What i already tried:
1- Reset the router
2- cleaning caches on all the browsers i'm using (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
Never had that problem with 10.7
Mystery, don't know what i should do except reinstalling Mountain lion...

Premiere Pro CC won't load my project

However I am able to load the project on another computer running Premiere Pro CC. At my home computer the program launches, and I select the project I want, but the assets and sequences don't load into the Premiere windows. However if I open another project (that I have only worked on using my home computer) I have no problems loading the project.

Hi, I am having this exact issue. In my case, both versions of PPro are exactly the same, base version installed from Creative Cloud client with no plugins used.
Project opens with no issues on one pc and wont open on the pc it was originally created on. It does not crash or say 'not responding' but assets and sequences wont load
as Kristine describes. I have tried creating a new project and importing the old one; the assets appear but the program seems to freeze up as I cant interact with anything and
hear the windows ping noise with every click. The project is very simple; a low bitrate .mp4 video with .mp3 and .wav sound effects added.

Suddenly my PE7 won't load a project - any project. Why?

I've been using PE7 for two years. This morning I left the project on which I was working on the desktop while I ran some errands with my wife. Upon return several hours later the project was no longer on the desktop, and when I tried to load it, it would not load. Instead, it put a minimized logo onto the task bar ( that bar at the bottom) and when I put my cursor on that logo, I see a single frame of the project I wanted to load. Then if I try to load another project, I can see a frame of that project. Can anybody help?

Welcome to the forum.
Am I correct that you have been Saving the Project (the PREL file) to the Desktop? That is not a good idea, as the Desktop folder has certain attributes, that are unlike other common folders.
The ideal location is in a folder (I use the Project's name for my Project's root folder) on a separate physical HDD, than the OS and programs. If one only has one physical HDD, then there are fewer choices, but I would still use a regular folder, with the Project's name.
When you navigate to the Desktop folder in Windows Explorer, do you see a file, with the Project's name, and the extension, /PREL? Note: depending on how you have your OS's Folder Options and File Display options set, you might not see the file's extension. I always set that Display to Show File Extensions, and also to Show System and Hidden Files, so that I can see everything.
If you DO have that Project's .PREL file, I would Copy it to a new folder, with the Project's name in that folder's name.
Now, can you launch PrE at all? If you can, at the Welcome Screen, choose Open Project (you will not want to try from the Project list), and then navigate to where you Copied that Project's .PREL file. Does that work?
If you cannot launch PrE, then see this ARTICLE, which starts with a checklist of things to do, to get PrE to run, and run well. Note that some of the first tips are to upgrade the video and audio drivers, from the mfgr's. Web site. Do not trust Windows, or any utility to tell you, if you have the latest version - check on the mfgr's. Web site, or the mfgr. of your computer, if it's Dell, HP, Lenovo, Gateway, etc.

Project Server 2010 - create a custom enterprise project field for persons (no text, no lookup table...)

I want to create a custom enterprise project field and would like to use instead of for example a text attribute or a look-up table a field for employees (e.g. project manager) which are coming e.g. from the Active Directory. But when creating this custom
project field I cannot see such an option. What solution do you suggest as I want to avoid that everybody uses different names and spellings for e.g. the project manager and without having to fill the lookup table with all resources of the company.

Project Server 2010 - PDP updates not triggering Project Server Events

Hello,
We're experiencing an issue whereby when a user updates a Project PDP, no update is triggered and reflected in the reporting database.
My question is, which Server Side Event Handler is responsible for picking up PDP changes (i.e. Changes to Enterprise Custom Fields)?

1. SharePoint timer Job is malfunctioning:
For this try restarting SharePoint timer Job. through SP Powershell:
Stop SPTimerv4 , Start SPTimerv4
2: SharePoint Cache is full:
Reset SharePoint Cache by deleting all XML files ( except cache.ini
) in SharePoint Cache located in System Drive\ProgramData\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config\<GUID>
3: Check if Microsoft Project Server Event Service is running in Services.msc, try restarting it.

Project Server 2010 cannot compile proxy assembly Project Server Services

I am trying to compile Project Server Services dll by opening the source folder in the SDK and running compileWCFPRoxyAssembly.cmd. However, it fails to compile giving me error:

Check this location which has the PSI.snk key C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Project 2010\Documentation\Intellisense\WSDL
Copy the key file to the desired location and re run the proxy compilation
However on a side note if you use the ProjectServerServices.dll in your project it has all the references precompiled for all WCF's all you would need is a reference and call any WCF you would want, i prefer this method over using individual files or
references to services

Project Server User Security + Custom SSRS Reports Project List Parameter

Hello, below is the issue / challenge scenario:
I'mnt. We have to remove the smaller chunk of queries that are hitting the published database to get the user security permissions. I'm using custom SSRS reports that are pulling data from Reporting database and other custom financial SQL DB's. I need to
figure out a solution to get the list of accessible projects for a particluar user using PSI. I did find this technet article that addresses my issue in a way

the above solution means that I need to change many of my existing report queries (going to published DB)

The ReadProjectStatus PSI method defaults to Project for the Project Type, the value is 0. If you want other project types is gets slightly more complicated as you have to have multiple data sets for the ReadProjectStatus call, one for each project type
- each time specifying the default projType. For example for Projects (0) the query is:

You have to repeat this for all project types you want to include, create a hidden parameter for each project type then create a parameter to join them up and use the combined parameter to filter the data sets that get the data from the Reporting
database.

Initial OS X Server setup won't load

I've got a fresh install of OS X Snow Leopard and OS X Server on my mini, however the initial setup won't load past the welcome screen. I've waited for ~2 hours and I get nothing. I'm also unable to get into single user mode as I'm using a windows keyboard.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

Wbs modeler won't load visio 2013 pro/office 365

I've installed WBS Modeler add-in onto my Win 7/Visio 2013 Pro/Office 365 laptop, but the Modeler won't load. When I start Visio and check the addins, the WBS Modeler shows up as an Inactive Application Add-In. When I check the COM add-ins, the
add-in shows up in the list, however the Load Behavior is: "Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in.". The location looks messed up too. It is: "C:Program Files (x86)\Visio Add-In for WBS Modeler\\WBSModeler.vsto|vstolocal".
I've uninstalled/reinstalled/repaired several times -- all with the same behavior.

There is a similar issue, it says that we can use the 32-bit WBS modeler to run on PC. I faced the same issue using the 64 bit install, but the 32 bit version works well on 64 bit Visio

Won't load new project or anything

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 8 and it works just fine on my desktop. I've installed it on my laptop now and it doesn't seem to be working. When I try to create a new project, nothing appears. When I try to load a previous project it says "Projects created with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Premiere Elements are not compatible." (I only have ever used Premiere elements & mind you, these "previous projects" contain nothing, because they're just the failed attempts at creating new projects but with nothing actually happening after I get passed the point of naming the new project)
Any ideas on how I can fix this?
The suggestions I've found through searching & such haven't helped.
I tried deleting all previous files, uninstalling, reinstalling, just letting it sit and see if something eventually happens, deleted the adobe premiere prefs file, etc...
Here are my specs:

Model: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II N830 Triple-Core Processor 2.10 GHz

I was actually able to get it to load a new project ONCE-- but then I exited it because I needed it to be widescreen instead of standard. With the exception of that one time, I haven't had any luck getting it to do anything.

Is it only your desktop it has been previously installed on? I ask because I think you can only install it on a maximum of two machines. If so you may have a licensing issue requiring you to deactivate one.
More likely though it is out-of-date drivers and/or the state of your laptop. The following basics are well proven to solve many, many problems with PRE:
Install all Windows Updates.
Install latest version of Apple QuickTime (v7.6.9 at time of writing). Even if you don't use QuickTime, PRE relies heavily on it.
Install most recent graphics and sound drivers from the manufacturers web sites.
Install PRE8 v8.0.1 update. Did the patch install successfully?
Run Disk Cleanup.
Run Defragmenter.
Reboot your PC.
Temporarily disable any anti-virus realtime scanning.

Please please help! iMovie 09 won't load my project

I've been slowly working on a project from a holiday we took early 2009 (yep, I mean slowly). I was actually getting close to having the movie finished and ready for export but now iMovie won't even show the project and this is a long project
The files all run from my external drive. I have checked the folder and the iMovie Project folder shows the holiday .rcproject file as being there and I have looked at the other project files in the folder and they all seem to match up to this particular file (in regards to the when I ask it to show package contents, the same folders are in each one).
When I double click on the file it opens iMovie but the project still doesn't show up! The raw vision from the project is there but it has red lines in all the clips too.
I hope someone can help.

Hello, i have also had the same issue. Basically when i click on the photo icon in imovie 09 the library doesn't show,it's just blank but also my itunes library isn't showing up either. The only way i can get photos and music into imovie is by dragging them into imovie but thats not the way the program is meant to work and would also like to fix this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After Effects won't load a project previously saved and working okay

I am using CS5 10.0.2 on Windows 7 and have a project which I've been working on for a while. All okay so far.
Today, I have added some media (Royalty Free video files) and it worked / saved okay. However, when I try to re-open it, AE hangs.
I rename the folder with the new media in it and AE opens (and of course it tells me some files are missing). I try to replace the footage with the video in the new (renamed location) and boom, the programme hangs again.
I have used AE for 5 or 6 years and never seen anything like this.
Any ideas?

I went to that GSpot site, and frankly, I don't trust it. I think it might have mucked up your OS. I'd uninstall it.
Which brings me to another toxic-to-AE item you may have installed: the K-Lite codec pack. If you did, you're not going to like the rest of this:
K-Lite has always given AE fits: AE works fine one day, crashes the next. But because K-Lite weasels its way into all sorts of nooks & crannies of the OS, you can't just uninstall it. That's not good enough. You won't get rid of it totally. You have to to a total operating system reinstall. It's not for the faint of heart, but that's what has to be done if you inadvertantly installed this evil-acting piece of software.
Obviously you'll want to plan out the procedure before you take any steps like this.
