Project Setting for H.264-AAC

Ok,
I think I overcomplicated things when I ask which file type or codec renders the fastest...
I'll ask an easy one...
What "Project Settings" will I use if I'm planning to edit a .mp4 file with (H.264 video AAC audio) for it to be recognized as 'native'?

You can drag the Clip in the Project Panel to the New Icon, and PrPro will create a New Sequence that matches, and place that as the first Clip.
This shows the New Icon:
By Joe Bloe Premiere.
Hope that this helps,
Hunt

  • What is the correct project setting for a high definition slideshow?

I'm using Premiere Elements 11 and when I drag my jpeg photos on the timeline, I see the orange line across them; when rendered, the photos are cropped.  The last time I successfully created slideshows was in PE 8 and I never had this problem!

Please do not judge the photogenic quality of the slides I picked for these two slide show examples.
The project setting is AVCHD 1080p60.
https://vimeo.com/60952115 This is a 22 second video where, as a self training exercise, I tried the resizing suggestions from Bill, Steve and Ann in other threads on this same subject.  I found no improvement, or degradation, to quality or processing performance -- regardless of how I resized or didn't resize.
https://vimeo.com/60904593 This is a 20 second, 6 random slide, video to verify resizing was not needed.  All  the slides were brought directly from my HDD into PrE11 with the "Add Media" function.  They are about 20MB each, in a Sony RAW format and original un-resized files.  There were no issues in the process.
Although not demonstrated in these two videos, the Pan and Zoom feature in PrE11 works wonderfully on these un-resized photos.
Vimeo allows you do download the actual .mp4 files I uploaded if you want to look closer as the product.
It has been mentioned in other posts that resizing may well have been necessary in earlier versions of PrE and may still be needed if you lack a strong computer.  Nowhere, that I can find, is it mentioned as necessary or suggested in Adobe authored instructions or tutorials.
Other than project presets or video driver issues I do not know why PrE11 slide shows work so well for me and cause problems for others.
For Steve, Ann and Bill, can I provide screen shots of PrE11 settings or samples of anything via DropBox?

  • Which PE9 Project setting for BetaCam footage?

Hi. I'm using Premier Elements 9 and I have footage i need to edit from an oldish Sony Beta Cam.
PE9 only seems to have presets for new digital cams.
I have tried the DV standard 48khz but i'm having an issue with stuttering on moving footage
after I have burned it to DVD. What is the problem and what are my options?
Is PE9  non compatible with old anolog tape footage.
    many thanks

    thanks Steve/Bill
The betacam is a Sony BVP-90P
I have to download the video via a playback adapter into a DVD recorder that makes a VOB file.
I then edit this in PE9
I did an experiement on the footage. I selected a clip and in the video field options. I selected
the Reverse Field Dominance option and this seems to have erradicated the problem. ??
The problem only appears (randomly) after I burn to DVD and playback on a TV.
If I playback on a computer its fine.  So i'm assuming TV's/Computer Monitors
see the world through different eyes.
Also, are VOB files OK to start with or should I try and work with AVI only?
Thanks again for your understanding and priceless wisdom!

  • Project Presets For Editing .mov 720P

Hello, I have Drift Inovations 170HD Stealth that I would like to edit in PE11.  The camera specs show that it records 1080P and 720P in .mov (h.264) format.  What would be the best Project Setting for that?
    Thanks!
    DAVE

    Dave,
    That was very good news.
For the 720p25, 720p30, and 720p60, I would look at:
    For 720p60
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 - HD 720p60
(Refer to details in screenshot below)
    For 720p30
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 - HD 720p60
(but in this case, you are going to go under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and change the frame rate from 60 to 30.
Refer to details in screenshot below)
    For 720p25
    Publish_Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 - HD 720p60
(but in this case, you are going to go under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and change the frame rate from 60 to 25.
Refer to details in screenshot below)
    720p60
    720p30
    720p25
The choice of 59.94 vs 60 and 29.97 vs 30 often depends of details from your camera. But see how you do with the suggested settings.
    Thanks.

  • Why does recievig partnerrequire outbound parameter setting for the message

    Hi,
I was configuring the partner profiles for outbound billing and sales order cycles.Interestingly for outbound scenario, we had to maintain the settings for outbound parameters in receiving partner.
For example, if i sending ORDERS  message type from sender to receiver, then after maintaining the details in partner profile(outbound parameters for sender in we20) for sender, then not only i need to put the orders details in inbound parameters for reciever, but also the outbound parameters for receiver(both inbound and out bound parameters to be filled for the message type for reciver partner).
I checked other systems and founf this is how it is being maintained in outbound cycle. But could anyone provide any insight of why this is required.I did not find anything from bd64 or others about this.
why would the outbound parameters needs to be filled for particular message type in reciver sytem, when it is only required to fill the inbound parameters only for receiver system?

I got help for this issue over at CreativeCow's FCP pages -- it turns out, all I had to do was open a new project using an easy setting and project setting for vanilla PAL 25 fps SD stuff. All of the audio was correctly brought in -- then I disconnected all of the clips, made them dual mono, reconnected them, and copied them over to my old gristly project folder.
Now I can marry these dual mono 25fps files to the video files without having FCP incorrectly compensate for "30fps" by speeding these clips up slightly, so things stay in sync.

  • Project settings for GoPro 2.7k in PrE12

    Hi everybody,
I know there are a few threads similar to my question already but I've read them and they aren't exactly getting at what I am trying to do.
My goal is to shoot 2.7k GoPro video, adjust the image in cineform studio using the protune preset, export to 2.7k cineform AVI, and import into PrE12 where I will apply the stabilizer effect to reduce the jerkyness of my underwater scuba video, then export a 1080p MP4 file.
My idea was that since the stabilizer effect basically crops the edges of the image to achieve the stabilization I would shoot at higher resolution, on wide FOV rather than medium FOV, and after the stabilizer effect has been applied have a video somewhere between 2.7k (2704x1524) and 1080p (1920x1200).  I could then export this as 1080p having avoided losing the edges of my image (by using wide FOV) and still have full 1080p resolution (by shooting in 2.7k originally).
I hope that made sense to somebody because I started getting confused myself writing it...
The problem is that I don't see a project setting for 2.7k video import.  There is one for 4k and one for 1080p but nothing inbetween and I don't see a way to set a custom resolution.  So I'm assuming that using the 4k project settings will result in my video being stretched and losing quality, and that the 1080p settings will defeat the purpose of my goals/ideas as I mentioned above.
Is there somebody who knows more about this software and can guide me on what I am trying to accomplish?  If that includes investing in some more sophisticated software (premiere pro?) I might be willing to do that.
    Thank you!

    I'm facing  the same challenge..

  • What is the best proejct setting for editing h.264 video?

I have captured hours of VHS footage via an Elgato Video Capture device for Mac.   Captured video is in H.264 format.
Trying to edit the video in Adobe Premiere Elements 10, but it is being very fussy.   Takes a long time to import media.  Once in and a few cuts are made, timeline drags and freezes repeatedly.   This was with a setting for HDV 720p 30.

For h.264 encoding, what size does the project need to be to avoid black bars on the top and bottom. I am exporting the mp4 to Brightcove.

    Hi there,
Which version of Adobe Captivate (If it is Adobe Captivate) is it and which Operating System is it?
    Thanks.

  • Is there a maximum possible bitrate for h.264 (from DV iMovie)?

    Hello,
I have a DV file (a iMovie project) that is 8,76GB big. I want to burn it on a 8,5GB Dual Layer DVD. So I choose 23000kbit/s as video bitrate for h.264 (audio AAC 320kbit/s). The result was a file of 5,44GB (17Mbit/s). When I then tried 26000kbit/s the result was the same.
I the chose "best quality" and bitrate set to "automatic". The result was a 5,77GB file.
So, I wondered, if there is a limit in iMovieHD'05 for the bitrate chosen with h.264.
I have a very slow Mac, so I can't just test everything through, so here is my second question: would handbrake )last version for 10.5) be able to output a h.264 file with a bitrate of 23000kbit/s?
Another topic: I heard you can encode a DV file to mpeg2 with Toast Titanium, which I have. How do I do that, when I drop the VD file on it and choose compress and save as image, I get a video file of 8kb and an audio file of 4kb, when I open it and want to burn it, it starts compressing it again.
    Thanks in advance.

sure did iMHD5 export as DV!
    That's its 'native' format, iMovie-a (≤v.6) was a dv-editor by concept.-
there is no 'smaller' bitrate in DV - dv is a very straight codec, by standard 13GBs/h - done.
and for sure you can save larger files than >4GB on a fat32 formated media - I'm doing so 'daily' some of my cheap sport-cameras use fat32-SDCards, recording 2h continously, creating a bunch of files.. on import, those files get 'consolidated' by the edit software.
again: just drag'n drop your precious material on a stick - done.
... it is less complicated than you make it think.
You did not understand the sentence iMovie does not export DV in smaller bitrates. That means, it exports DV, but only in the maximum bitrate of 57MBit/s (as told by QT, when you open a DV file, that you exported from iMovie).
Also, you must be using a System that can read FAT32+. FAT32 (without the "+") can only write up to 4GB. I use Tiger (10.4.11).
I did knew, that FAT32 can only take 4GB big files and I forgot and tried to copy a 9GB file once and it did not work, so I know for sure. Not just since this thread.
Is there any other way than drag and drop files in OS X (I do it that way since OS 9 in 2001)?
I am not as stupid as you make me feel think.
I read up on Toast again and there you can force Toast to fit a DVD file that is bigger than 8,5GB to a 8,5GB DVD. (I just did not want to let Toasts crappy compressor do it, but instead use h.264 for minimum quality loss, even if the human eye can't tell. The source is analog SD material btw.).

  • Hi all ,anyone knows some usefual Codecs for H.264 live video/audio

I'm headache about the JMF codecs ,they are too few ,and seems inefficiency, anyone knows pure java codecs for H.264 or MPEG4 ?And I think it's better a open source one ,do my thanks , guys!

    Here are some basics....
FMLE creates RTMP protocol streams that PCs and Macs watch with Flash players.   iOS devices don't understand RTMP (Flash), only HLS delivery of 10 second chuncks of downloaded video playback.  Both systems understand H.264 video, but iOS wants to see AAC audio not MP3.
You didn't state how you are live streaming, meaning what bandwidth delivery service you are using.  Live streaming only via RTMP won't get you to successful iPad and iPhone HTTP Live Stream.  On-demand delivery to iOS devices normally requires .mp4 video files to be hosted, which Macs and PCs also understand via RTMP delivery.   But unless your delivery service can convert .f4v or .flv files to .mp4 on the fly there is no easy way to to get to iOS via the direct file output of FMLE as of today.   Sometimes we upload live encoded project files to our www.Wistia.com account for PC, Mac and iOS delivery.  This is a YouTube / Vimeo paid type hosting service for on-demand only.
Some commercial CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) today allow an inbound live RTMP into their system using FMLE.  Then they re-mux that RTMP stream into HLS delivery for iOS.  Some work well using the native MP3 audio codec (Internap), but most require FMLE to have the AAC audio codec installed from Main Concept for $200.  Or people use Wirecast from Telestream which is $500 per license to be able to run two instances on that one license.
In my 15 years of being a big commercial webcaster here in Silcion Valley, I have yet to find the perfect simple and easy and affordable RTMP to HLS live and on-demand delivery system.  We currently do it different ways with multiple providers depending on the job.  More offerings are coming out now and we try them all as they come down the pike.

  • "fast start" for .MP4 H264/AAC ?

    Hi,
I am looking now for a "fast start" option in Compressor 4 for .MP4 H264/AAC encoded files.
Is there a way to do that ?
    Thanks
    Eric

    Eric,
See if this works for you. Start with the Broadband High preset (you could use any preset). Open the Encoder pane; in File Format, choose Quick Time; Click on Video Settings and in Compression Settings, select H.264. Set your  data and then Optimize for streaming. Return to Encoder and open Audio settings to specify thge format you want; In the Encoder, select Streaming and then select Fast Start. In the Extension box, change the extension from .mov to .mp4. You should wind up with a MP4 H.264 CBR preset.
    Good luck.
