Project Versions - Already Exist Message

Hi Experts
We are using CN72 to create Project Versions and there is a requirement that different projects need to be created with version key 1 (identified as initial version) with same version description and version group.
whenever we create the version there is a warning message saying "Project version 1 already exists (see long text)" with  Message no. OV004
however we can save version with given key, description and version group.
What is implication of this message and is there a way to avoid it
Regards
Shailesh

I think SAP doesnt recommend to use same version key for different projects. I simualted your case, and i looked into the longtext of the warning message, it says it will lead to performance problem if you use same version key for different projects. Please read the longtext of the warning message.

  • "A Newer Version Already Exists" message when installing Dragon Stop Motion

I'm trying to install an earlier version of Dragon Stop Motion. But I can't because the installer says that I have a newer version installed on my harddisk. I have googled the issue and found out that I should erase related files in the "Receipts" folder. That didn't work, nor AppZapper and AppCleaner. What should I do?

Firefox 3.6.16 has a newer build and release date than Firefox 4.0 does.

  • Apps found in Itunesmedia/mobile application are duplicated in Itunesmedia/automatically add to Itune/mobile application.  Could cause the message "a newer version already exists"?

Does any one have a solution as to why I keep getting the message saying " a newer version already exist" when i syn my ipod touch.

Browse out to your Automatically Add to iTunes folder located under either:
    Mac OS X
    ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/
    Windows Vista/7
    C:\Users\USERNAME\Music\iTunes\iTunes
And delete all the apps that are located in this folder.

  • When I try to install Lightroom 5.6 I get a "Object already exists" message. I can't install it at all

I updated Lightroom to 5.6 before going away for the weekend. When I came home I was unable to access lighroom all together. After searching I finally found how to chat with customer service (which I can't figure out again) and they told me to uninstall Lightroom, make a new Admin on my computer, and re-install it on the new Admin. When I did this I still get the same "Object already exists" message and it won't even install now.

    Do a clean (re)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * Delete the files and folders in the %temp% folder.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Getting "object already exists" message when trying to install new software.

Quite coincidentally, I came across a solution for the "object already exists" message that had recently been interferring with the downloading of new software.  This solution was offered by another on a different website, but it has solved my problem.
My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate.
The Windows Security Update  KB2918614 seems to be wreaking havoc with some systems.  It did so with mine.
After removing this particular update, I am now able to install software (was actually just trying to reinstall my HP printer software as I am having another issue with it).
Don't know if this will help anyone else, but it worked for me.

To rid myself of the "object already exists" issues due to the Windows Security Update KB2918614 . . . I have learned that an additional step must be taken to keep Windows Updates from automatically reinstalling this update . . . once again, preventing installation of software.
One needs to hide the update to prevent Window Updater from reinstalling.
    Taken from the Windows community:
Marilyn - Support Engineer replied on December 9, 2008
The update in question can be hidden, which will prevent this update from downloading and installing.
    To hide this update:
           Open Control Panel
           Open Security
           Select ‘Windows Update
Select the option View Available Updates in the upper left hand corner
Locate the update in question, right click and select ‘Hide Update’
    Thanks
Once again, my operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate and this particular update was causing difficulty for my specific operating system.

  • Problem setting up DVD or CD Sharing Setup - newer version already exists??

    Dudes,
Just trying to set up install DVD or CD Sharing Setup on my MacBook so I can use Remote Disc on the Air, but have got this message on the Select A Destination screen:
"You cannot install DVD or CD Sharing Setup on this volume. A newer version of this software already exists on this volume."
I don't understand, as I have not installed this software yet. How can a newer version of it already exists on my MacBook?
The only thing I can think is that perhaps they included it as standard in 10.5.6, which I have on my MacBook?
    Can anyone help at all?
    Thanks!
    Johnnycakes

That software is bundled with the current Mac OS X version. Proceed as if it was already installed.

  • Win App Deployment include SQL 2008 Express - Check if any SQL Server version already exist

    Hi there
I have a application that is deploying and installing correctly (Setup and Deployment Project in VS 2008) and has SQL 2008 Express as a pre-requisite. SQL Express installs fine if not found but I don't want it to be installed if any other version of SQL
Server already exists on the target computer. What do I have to adjust in the Bootstrapper package (package.xml or product.xml)  for SQL Express to do this check? Is the change done within the Bootstrapper package? Do I have to create a Custom Action
in my Deployment project for this check? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dweezil

    Hi Dweezil,
If you use SQL Express Bootstrapper, you can add the SqlExpressChk.exe package file in the product.xml to check that if SQL Server is already exists.
However, please note that SqlExpressChk.exe is limited to only the default instance name, SQLEXPRESS, it won't detect other named instances. A registry check is required when detecting existing SQL Server with custom instance name.

  • Won't install java 1.8 says version already exists 14.9

I'm trying to create a database in Open Office which I was able to do fine this morning, but now after updating OO it is telling me "no java installation could be found". When I go to oracle to download the latest Java version the machine tells me I already have version 14.9 installed which as far as I can tell from google searching is  not an actual version of Java since every link is in another language. I've gone through the forums to see how to delete the version of "java" that I do have off the machine. Opened the terminal and cut and pasted in the command from this post: When trying to install newest Java, computer says a newer one already exists? But it says I need a password to run the command. There is no solution on this thread. So I'd really love for someone to tell me what the heck give here. (I'm running 10.9.5 and trying to use OO 4.1.1. I've gone through the OO forums to no avail as well.)

How I was able to overcome the Java 14.9.0 problem
My iMac (late 2009) was yesterday updated to  Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and today  I updated Java through Apple Store, which resulted in Java 14.9.0 and it was unable to run.
After researching, I found the following path that was 100% successful to delete Java 14.9.0 and able to install Java 10.8.40.
On the  System Preference for Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5 go to section:
    1. Personal -> Security Privacy -> Firewall -> turn it off
    2. General-> Check "Allow application downloaded from anywhere".
(In case if Norton Firewall is on: check it  Disabled)
On Finder -> Devices -> Macintosh HD and localize Java Applet Plugin.plugin and move it to trash:
    Finder -> Devices -> Macintosh HD -> Library -> Internet Plug-Ins -> JavaAppletPlugin.plugin
Go to www.java.com and install Java version 8 update 40.
After following the  steps, verify its installation.
Go back to System Preference and localize in the section Other  "Java Control Panel". Click on its icon and go to Security and check "Enable Java content in the browser".
    Check browser to activate Java Plug in: Firefox -> Tools -> Add-ons ->Plugins -> Java Applet Plug-in - Java 8 Update 40
Check "Always Activate " or "Ask to Activate"
    Hope these paths help you.

  • Import-spweb with -force errors out with "already exists" message

So, I did an export-spweb of an existing site (migrated from SP2007 and still retains the SP2007 look and feel) and created the files containing it. I then went to a new farm, with a new site collection on a new content database. Nothing else exists
    there.
    I run
    Import-spweb –identity
http://mytestsite/sites/ITSM -Path d:\temp\itsm –verbose –force –nofilecompression
and after a few minutes, we get:

I don't understand why, with the -force, it just didn't overwrite whatever it thinks was there. That's how I interpret the meaning for the flag.
It suggests that I chose another title - I am trying to create an exact duplicate of the original site, so giving a different title defeats my objective.
Is there something that I am missing?
We ended up without any site at all to go to... at the very least it could have created all that it could from the file.
    Thank you!

Weird - how would a site have two lists with the same name and path?
How would I get around this? I mean, the export had no problem creating the data... I expected the import to rebuild the same thing that was exported.
I take a look at the lists and libraries on the original site and there is 1 list that appears with the name "Links". There are other lists that have the word Links as part of their name - but
not a second one with the simple name of "Links".

  • When I try to put the downloaded firefox into the application folder, it says a newrer version already exists, do you want to replace it. What should I do.

I have several older versions of Firefox in my application folder. I downloaded 5.0 and when I went to put it into my application folder a pop up window said a NEWER version already is in the folder - do I want to replace it.
It doesn't make sense. It won't just accept the new version as it previously did with other versions. I just want to know if I should go ahead and replace version.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

  • Installing a new opatch version when an older version already exists

    Hi,
I'm going to apply a security patch (CPUJan2009) on 10g databases on Windows server 2003. There is already an opatch tool installed in the oracle home, however the patch requires a newer version. Therefore, is it possible to directly install the newer version into the same opatch folder (what will then happen to the older version? will there be a conflict when installing the new version?) or do I first need to deinstall the older version?
Also, how can I backup the older version? Just copy/paste the folder in another location?
    Thanks.

There is no deinstallation, just do following:
    cd $ORACLE_HOME
    mv OPatch OPatch.old
unzip new OPatch which YOu downloaded from metalink
    And that's it
Also, how can I backup the older version? Just copy/paste the folder in another location?Yes, copy or move. OPatch is simply collection of files, there is nothing installed. so no need to deinstall.
