Project went black - getting a little freaked out

I thought my first problem was frustrating, now I've got a bigger problem.
First, the bigger and more immediate problem: All of a sudden, I have no video. It's all black, and I have no idea why or how it happened. I've been working with FCE for three years and recently jumped to FCP and have never seen this before. Any ideas?
If that's not enough, I was trying to troubleshoot another problem when the blackout occurred. Here it is: I have a "master sequence" (flagged anamorphic) comprised of three sequences (also flagged anamorphic). All of my video clips were captured DV NTSC anamorphic. Everything looked fine right up until I'm ready to export, then all of a sudden, video on one of the embedded sequences became stretched horizontally. I've checked and everything is flagged anamorphic. Does anybody have any ideas why one sequence was stretching some of the same clips that another sequence registered just fine?

Well, I guess in a way I've figured out what's wrong with the aspect ratio and how to fix it, although I don't know what happened to screw it up in the first place. I found the aspect ratio on all the video clips in the one sequence were changed somehow to -33.33 (maybe I accidently hit some shortcut key[s] to make the change?). Since I don't know the mystery shortcut key, I'm changing them all manually. Just wanted to let anyone who might run into this that it might be something to look at (Motion tab, Distortion, Aspect Ratio).

Is there any way that my phone is somehow resetting itself to a time when the app was turned on? I'm just grabbing straws here... I have no idea. I just know that the location arrow came on at the top of my phone, and it showed that someone was tracking my phone at that very moment... Any help would be appreciated!

I dropped my ipod touch 4g(black) on the floor at chipotles(concrete) freaking out!!

ok so i dropped my ipod on concrete and now there is a dent beside the screen on the lower sound button when i use my ipod it has this huge black speckly blob by the dent and everything is extremely white it is possible to use it but very annoying and the left side of the screen if i use an app then it fades slowly if i type or try to do something so i can kinda read the right side of the screen but it is very hard i tried white on black and black on white which helped a bit i could see the screen a itsy bitsy bit better. but i am still extremely dramatized cause it took me half a year to earn it and took half a second to fall out of my coat and break. the screen is not cracked and the only outside appearence is the dent and if you look closely when it is off you can see the blob slightly , the blob kinda looks like well around the edges at least kinda like those oil things in puddles how its rainbowy shiny what ever but please help.also i tried restarting it and every else i can think of.

GOD i did pretty much the same think , idropped mine on a chair nd it dented on the lower volume button and at first there was this crack on the screen like a smurf punched the volume button nd left a crater. After i touched the crack a little bit freaking out, the whole screen went white with a small black spot( like the one on yours, but ALOT smaller) after a little while , like 10 min in my pocket, i could see the top of the screen normally(enough to see the time and date while its locked, but the spot is still there nd the rest of the screen is really white. i can make out things easier on the right side, but everything on the left is bright and distorted as if the loer part of the screen was cut in half nd the left side slid down.
But anyways i dont think we can fix this , ive tried pushing out the dent nd now my ipod just has seisures( the screen flashes like a strobe light as it goes from white and distorted to normal nd back)
Might just hav to pay the $99 for apple to replace/repair it

How do I get my iPhone 5c out of black screen recovery mode?

I have been trying for countless hours and days to get my iPhone 5c out of recovery mode (black screen no apple logo or anything else) the only reason I know it turns on is because the backlight LCD changes color. When I press down on it it leaves a little finger pressure thing. I have tried all of the ways to get it out of DFU mode, Out of Recovery Mode, I have tried restoring it, in which case i get the error 4005,40013 etc. So now I have come here for my last hoorah on trying to get this pile out of recovery mode and the IOS installed and working.
I don't know if this matters or not but, I have recently purchased a screen from ebay, it was an original iPhone screen etc. I have replaced it and as i said the screen works fine. that shouldn't have any problem with the actual software malfunctioning to update, but here is the log! Enjoy!

I ran into the problem you have after trying to update to 7.1.2 the phone updated, but got stuck in recovery mode, and none of the reset methods worked. I did some searching and came up with a simple method, and it got me out of the loop.

1. There is no way of knowing. These things happen.
2. The iOS only gets updated when you want it to be.
3. You should always update to the latest iOS your phone will support. Apple do not write the updates to make your experience worse.

Is your battery out of juice, have you tried charging it? If the battery is flat dead it may take a few minutes after plugging it in before the screen will show anything.

My iphone 5c went black screen and it still can cut on and off and it went black screen when i was on facetime with a friend and could still talk to them perfectly fine what is the cheapest way to get it fixed or can i fix it myself without any money

My iphone 5c went black screen and it still can cut on and off and it went black screen when i was on facetime with a friend and could still talk to them perfectly fine. What is the cheapest way to get it fixed or can i fix it myself without any money? I also didnt have the chance to back up my data because it went black screen out of now where.

If your phone is not covered by the warranty anymore, Apple will replace it for a new device, same model and size, if you are willing to pay the service fee.
If you decide to get a 3rd party company to do the repair, Apple will not service your phone anymore after that.

My Canvas went black. Can't get the video back.

I did something and my canvas went black and now I can't figure out how to get the video back. Can someone help?
I took some time off and now forgot a lot but working on remembering as I got work now. ;-)

Actually I had to call my friend in San Francisco for the answer and stupid me! I should have known what I did ut I was away from FCP most of last year.
I hit CMD-W and lost 2 windows. I got them back but then the canvas was black.
Answer was hit the W key again and it cycles through 3 windows.
I tried what you recommended to no avail.

Working background went BLACK. Tried reinstall Photoshop Elements 10 and it is still BLACK. Makes it really hard to crop a picture with blackback gounds
The picture is has been zoomed out. Is there anyway to get it back to its original grayish working background?

See if right clicking just outside the picture area and choosing Gray fixes it.

You need to hold those button longer until you see the apple logo, then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

that might be a reason. Don't worry it will turn on after some time, try connecting it to your computer or charger and see if it helps!!...

My iMac screen went black and now I can't get it to turn back on

I turned my computer on this morning and everything was fine, but then my screen suddenly went black. Naturally, I looked over all the forums I could but realised mine was a unique case... Upon pressing the start up button, I heard no noise (my computer wasn't on mute) and shining a light on the black screen did not show me anything on the screen was still there.
I think it might be dead for good, but in case it isn't I would be open to hearing what anyone has to say!

Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.

Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
