Project will not load Premiere CS5

Ive been working on my senior class video yearbook all year and now the project has over 400 files and now i cant work on it. It will pass the load process but once the sequence and everything comes on, it begins to load all the separate files and never makes it to "all files loaded" because it stops responding. I've tried everything, any suggestions? Is there anyway to open a project while having all files offline so i can at least move some stuff around and maybe split it into 2 project files?
Please help my yearbook is reaching deadline and i don't want to disappoint my class!

Here is the FAQ Entry from the PrPro-Wiki on Corrupt Projects. Hope that something helps.
Good luck,

  • Project Will Not Load. Recovery Possible?

    Hi,
4.1. I had a backup power supply failure and a project was open. I re-started the computer and the project loaded, but as a 'Copy Of My Project' with a disclaimer. Still, it looked fine, rendered fine, and saved fine.
However, when I closed Premiere and then re-loaded the project later, it will not load. The project gets to 100% and then just sits there forever.
Any ideas on how/if the the thing can be recovered properly?
    Thanks,
    ---JC

Try creating a new project and importing the busted project into it. Using your preferred import method, just navigate to the .prproj file and select it for import. If all goes well, the sequences and all relevant media will come into the new project and be stored in a bin with the same name as the project. Open it up and find your sequences there.
Alternatively, check out the Auto-Save folder in the root of your project folder. As long as you have Auto-save enabled, you should find a series of backup/archive projects in it. While you may lose a bit of work depending on the time of the last save, you should at least be able to salvage the project. Just check the Date Modified column for the last auto-saved file.

  • Fonts will not automatically enable in Font Book, fonts also will not load Adobe CS5 Indesign or Illustrator.

    Hello,
My fonts stopped enabling automatically in font book, and do not load in Adobe Indesign CS5 or Illustrator CS5 when I use these programs.
The font names are usually displayed in brackets such as [Times New Roman] in the drop down menu for fonts.
So far I've found two different libraries for font, but I'm not sure about deleting them for fear of losing my fonts.
Also where do I find the font cache? If I clear it, can I possibly get the fonts to enable themselves again.
I'm using a 2006 Macbook Pro, and running Snow Leopard (Mac OSX 10.6.8).
Thank you in advance for any help.

Thank you for your reply. I have a few comments of my own.
    (1) You, ~Bee, accused me of using "another person's wisdom here". In some quarters, this would be called plagiarism.
If I were Oscar Wilde, I'd say that bad manners were a far more grievous sin than plagiarism. But I'm not. Good manners is one thing, and I'll be the first to admit that my manners can stand a considerable degree of improvement. Plagiarism is something quite different, and I deeply resent being accused of such an action.

I see a Level 5 contributor doing precisely what I did. Yet, curiously enough, I see no guardian of good manners jumping up to chastise him for it. Am I to understand that this is a case of quod licet Jovi, non licet bovi? We're supposed to do what our betters say, not what our betters do? (Of course, I'm absolutely, positively sure that you, ~Bee, have never, ever, replied to a post simply with a link.)

Read Font Management in OS X, by Kurt Lang. The author is a frequent contributor to this forum.
And you must be very well aware of this, because you posted yourself in the latter thread, not once, but thrice.
Knowing this, I don't see how you could have had any reason to accuse me of "going to use another person's wisdom here".
Knowing this, you could have made the charitable assumption that I was, possibly, in a bit of a hurry when I replied with nothing but a link, and act accordingly. (That, incidentally, would have been considered good manners in my part of the world.)
Does that seem like too much trouble, ~Bee?

  • Adobe CS6 Project will not load

Project will stick on loading screen.   Yesterday morning the project ballooned in file size.  I have   auto saves that go from 625MB to 1.17GB.   It is just the one project other projects open fine.   Since I worked on it a long time yesterday I don't have any  auto save backups that are smaller.  I noticed two days ago it was around 250MB, but everything have been running great, it just won't open today.

    Hi backfocusPRO,
    Welcome to the forums.
Please try to create a new project and try importing the od into this new one. You can also try importing just your main sequence and check.
    Regards,
    Vinay

  • Saved files will not load Premiere Elements 8

I have a Sony Vaio laptop I purchased in 2011, running Windows 7. Preinstalled on the computer was Premiere Elements 8 so I have been editing a video I recorded using this software, December 31, 2014 was the last time I edited the video until yesterday. Yesterday I booted up my computer, started Adobe Premiere Elements 8, Opened my project, watched as the loading meter went to 100%, the loading meter went off and nothing...I was looking at the Premiere Elements 8 screen with nothing, just a grey background with all my headings at the top like I had not opened a project, I have tried this many times with the same results

Thanks for the update. Sorry the solution was not found yet.
I do not see an avenue from Adobe for a fresh download since this was a pre-install from a computer manufacturer. You might be able to get the serial number for this pre-install. If this version got registered at Adobe somehow, there might be a listing for it under "My Products" after you sign into Adobe web site (http://www.adobe.com) with your Adobe ID and Password. Type in My Products in the Search field and follow it to your products. If you see Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0 listed, click on that to reveal the serial number.
But still no replacement installation files.
    Let us recap
    1. Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and 8.0 Folder deleted
    2. You have been through my check list in post numbered 3.
    3. You have done general computer maintenance.
    4. Can you get into Elements Organizer 9? If so, please go to Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalzyer Options and disable everything under AutoAnalzyer Options.
Did that impact the issue in anyway?
    5. We cannot uninstall reinstall or create a new User Account with Administrative Privileges since we do not have access to installation files and probably serial number.
Are we at a stage when System Restore to about December 31, 2014 becomes an option? Or rolling back the Windows Updates to December 32, 2014?
You have ruled out that the problem exists with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled. Is that correct?

  • AE Project will not load

I'm having problems loading my After Effects project that I just worked on and saved. All the files are in the same location, but when I try to open the project, it just gives my a color wheel spinning(am using a new Mac with 12 GB RAM and Quad processors) and have to Force Quit the program (doesn't ever open it). I can often import a project, but I don't want to have to creating new projects and importing AE projects into them to simply modify what I was just working on - any suggestions?

As Ko said - drag the project to a local folder that is not part of a server or an external storage device. This is a known problem with some of the latest Leopard updates. There's a knowldge base article on it on the support pages, also.

  • Existing project will not load

When I click on an existing prject file or attempt to open through "open" in DVD Studio pro, the file begins to open and hets hung up on loading the menu on the status bar.
    Help!

It may have gotten corrupted, try deleting the PAR/MPEG files sometimes that will clear up the haang, though I just had a DVD SP 3 project that went south, and nothing worked, but somehow DVD SP 4 was able to open it.

Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 8.1 (assumed 64 bit).
    First..
    1. Have you updated from 13 to the 13.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. If not, please do so.
    2. Do the problems exist if you disable the antivirus and firewall(s)?
    3. Are you running the program as Administrator? Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
    4. Have you refreshed the Online Services using Premiere Elements Editor Edit Menu/Preferences/Web Sharing?
    5. Have you updated the Adobe Application Manager?
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
6.Is your video card/graphics card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
    7. Lots more we could go through such as deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole
13.0 Folder in which it exists.
But, I think that you have enough things going on here to warrant an uninstall, free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts) and then reinstall with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

If the problems persist after all that then we will adjust to additional troubleshooting maneuvers.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.

  • Some projects not loading, Premiere Elements 4

In the beginning, my projects were working fine. I was in the middle of working on a particular project before I decided, "hey, let's upgrade the computer!"
Now, some projects simply will not load. I click the project, and all I get is a blacked out window with the text "initializing user interface" in the bottom left. It never initializes.
That's when I'm lucky. Sometimes, the whole thing just crashes with some "Premiere has encountered a serious error." It doesn't freeze, cause the program is able to create a backup save before it closes, so I'm thinking there's some kind of conflict. But for the life of me, I can't figure it out.
The only thing that's changed from then to now is I now have 64 bit version of windows instead of 32 bit. Graphics card is the same, memory is the same, everything is the same. It's just simply a fresh install of windows.
It can't be just a general incompatibility, because some of the projects load up just fine. It's completely random which ones too, although they tend to be small. (some small projects wouldn't load either)
I did have to reinstall Premiere but that usually solves problems not create them.
    Some things I've tried:
    Deleting the cache
    Deleting preferences
    Reinstalling
    Disable hardware acceleration
turn off my anti virus programs (AVG and Spybot 2.0)
Compatibility mode for Windows XP service pack 2 AND 3
    Give it Administrative privileges
    It's the only application open
    asked politely
This software has been my companion editing software for years. I need to figure out what's gotten it so wierd since the 64bit update.
    Computer specs:
    Radeon 6670
    8gb memory
    Windows 7 64bit
    Intel i5 3401 processor
    Asus Micro ATX Motherboard
All my drivers are up to date. Quick time is up to date. Flash is up to date. The program screams open when the project actualy loads, and works like a charm. So what gives?

    Red Truck inc.
I have Premiere Elements 4 in Window 7, 8, and 8.1 64 bit. No problems. In Properties/Compatibility Tab, I leave "run this program in compatibility mode for" unchecked. I do right click the Premiere Elements 4, select Run As Administrator even if I am working from a User Account with Administrative Privileges. So, look into the permissions angle a bit more.
With the thought of possible leftovers from incomplete installs or reinstall, have you done any uninstall, ccleaner run through (regular and registry parts of cleaner), reinstall?
Is that Radeon 6670 video card the only video card that the computer has? Are you on any network? Do you run a single or dual monitor system on your Windows 7 64 bit?
    Just some thoughts for now.
    More later.

  • How can I burn a copy of my project to a DVD . I do not have IDVD because I have the Lion os. I did purchase Wondershare for burning but it will not load the iMovie events or projects

How can I burn a copy of my project to a DVD . I do not have IDVD because I have the Lion OS. I did purchase Wondershare for burning but it will not load the iMovie events or projects

There is no proper substitute for iDVD.
Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac?
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3673
    UPDATE & ADDENDUM:
But even though you can still buy iLife 11 that includes iDVD 7 from Amazon, Apple now make it difficult to install:
Poster jhb21939 posted this in another thread:
“when I attempted to load iDVD into a new iMac. A notice came up on the screen stating that the 'Authorisation Licence' had expired on 25 March this year (2012).
I contacted the Apple support team and eventually, I was told that the Licence had been withdrawn and could no longer be used.”
In other words Apple are now so adamant that we don’t use iDVD that they have tried to make it impossible to install.
In response, Old Toad posted this solution:
“You can still use it one all of your Macs.  If you get an invalid certificate message just set your Mac's clock to sometime before early 2011 and run the installer.  After you're done reset the time back to the correct time.” He added this comment:
“It began after iDVD and iWeb were discontued and they were dropped from the Apple Store. All I can think of is the certificate was set to expire after a certain time period after the intitial iLife disc was released.
I've been able to use the installer even without setting back the date.  I just clicked on the Continue button and it would work as expected.  For some it would not continue unless the date was set back.”
The latest anorexic iMacs just announced do not even include a CD drive! Proof positive that Apple virtually prohibit the use of DVDs - although the newly announced Mac Minis do include a Superdrive.
Yet, they still include iMovie! Heaven alone knows or understands what you are supposed to do with your newly edited masterpiece - except make a low quality version for YouTube?

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running on?
Has the program ever opened to the Expert workspace or the Quick workspace?
Some of the typical drill questions:
    1. Does the problem exist with and with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? Do you have any other security programs
    on your computer?
    2. Are you running the program as Administrator in a home computer in contrast to a school or company network?
    3. Are you using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
    4. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?
    5. What video card/graphics card does your computer use and is the driver version up to date according to the
web site of the manufacturer of the card?
How far do you get...Welcome Screen, Video Editor, New Project or elsewhere? Any error messages?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
    Thank you.
