Project without weekend/holiday

I am building a project file using MS Project 2013 for a bidding purpose.
I cannot assign tasks without holidays. For that reason, total number of days on the 'project summary' and on the right side (bar chart's days) are not the same.
On the Bar chart, it shows the project is 360 days long, but on the left Task list (project summary), it shows 257 days.
I have to show 360 days in both side.
How can I do that, would you please tell me?

Not sure to fully understand your concern. By default a standard cwlendar is applied to your project, inckuding weekend's days as non-working days. Evenif the Gantt chart bars don't show weekend with a different formatting than the workin days, it take it
into acxount. Meaning that a 3days task starting on a friday will end on tuesday evenif the bar is continuous for the 5 days (3 days for the task and 2 for the weekend).
In conclusion, both side (tasks grid and Gantt chart) manage tasks duration the same way, using the project calendar.
That being said, if you want yournproject to consider 365 working days, just edit the project calendar setting saturdays and sundays as workijg days.

can someone help me with a formular to calculate the number of days with Crystal Reports 2008 between two dates without weekends and holidays
eg.
date one = 03/24/2010
date two = 03/29/2010
Result should be 4 days as 03/27 and 03/28 will be a weekend.
Plus how to exclude holidays ?

As Doug mentioned, Holidays are very location specific, and are you talking about "corporate holidays" where the company is closed, or "public holidays" where banks (<g>) are closed?
I'd suggest setting up a calendar table (if you don't have one already), one record per date. You could make it work-days only, days-off only, or all dates with a flag to indicate if it is a work date. You could then use that to count the number of work days. By using a table, you wouldn't have to change any code to (a) extend your calendar to the following year, or (b) change holiday dates if the holidays change. (I'm thinking corporate holidays, where the company might be closed Friday 12/24/10 in observation of Christmas, but would usually only close on the 25th.)

Can I export an AE comp or pre-comp to another AE project without having to rebuild or make a movie? In regard to tweaks or timing changes based on that projects' needs.

First, save the project in a different name. Delete out the comps & precomps you neither want nor need. Run AE's reduce project command to remove any unused footage, then save it again. Now you have a simplified project, which you can then import into any AE project you want.
If you like things nice & tidy, don't forget to use the replace layer (Alt-drag, Opt-drag) trick on any duplicated footage, using the footage from the project into which you import the simplified project. The alternative: just leave all the footage alone, and know you can't delete it.

Logic crashes when using the "Close Project without Saving" key command

The "Close Project without Saving" key command does not work in LP8. When I try to use it, Logic crashes. This is reproducible on my system. Can anyone try and confirm this?

For me this shortcut is quite important on stage when I have to switch songs as fast as possible. It also is foolproof because on stage I never want to save with all the controller changes I did during a performance.
Just hit the key command, load the next song, done.

Does " Close Project without Saving " key assignment work at all ?

I'm using Logic Express 8. I'd really like to be able to close a project without seeing the " do I want to save the project " box.
There is a function to do that in the Keypress Commands, but it seems broken. I've tried assigning several different keypress combinations to that function and all they do is crash Logic when I try to use them.
So, am I doing something wrong, missing something, or is that command broken ?

Come on, how hard would it be for someone out there to try this and let me know if it's my problem .. or a bug ?

We want to Close the Customer Project without settlment, Since the RA has been carried out for this project.

Try this,
Create a settlement profile as "Not for Settlement", check the radio button for "Not for Settlement" and in the valid receivers maintain the option in the dropdown as Settlement optional or Settlement Not Required. Assign this Settlement profile to the project profile as well as maintain it in the settlement strategy for the respective Object.
Once you are done with this, run your usual scenario and then try to close the project without running settlement. See what happens and revert with your findings.

Other ways to add shots to a project without using Reconform

I have a 15 minute movie that has a lot of filters, motion effects, and variable speeds. I tried to follow Walter Biscardi's tutorial here...

...exporting every clip that needs it as a quicktime and reimporting the "Baked" clip, but I unfortunately didn't get them all. On top of that, my Director came to me recently and told me about 3 changes he wanted.
I made the changes and exported the new changed sequence XML and tried to Reconform in Color but it freezes up and quits every time.
Is there any way for me to make these changes to the Color project without using Reconform? Any way I can manually replace or add shots to my Color project?

Michael Sandness has better luck with Reconform than I do, in that it apparently works for him and it flat out doesn't work for me. Best advice is to work with your original sequence -- duplicate it, then TREAT THE DUPLICATE as your backup. Continue reconforming on the ORIGINAL, and export an XML that you use to reconform inside the original COLOR project.
Failing all that, don't add new clips to your original unless absolutely, pain of death, forced to do it (especially if its a locked XML sent to... FCP workflow). Instead create a new COLOR project, either by creating a new sequence with your revulsions, pardon me, revisions, and do cut and paste import/export of grades from the original COLOR project, or a whole new prject and directly import the clips. If you're not familiar with cross copying grades between projects, open the original project, save the grades that you want to copy into some easily accessible directory, save, close, open the new project, navigate to that directory, and drag/drop, click, whatever it takes.

How can I change the tempo (and the snap grid) of the project without altering the duration of the original audio clips?

This question is for Logic Express.
I have many very short audio clips that I recorded into my project.
I want to adjust the project tempo so that I can use the snap grid to make a beat out of my short audio clips. But when I change the project tempo, it automatically adjusts the lengths of my audio clips.
So how can I change the tempo (and the snap grid) of the project without altering the original audio clips?

The reason some files sound funny and others don't is because audio is handled a few different in Garageband depending on it's source (audio your recorded vs Apple Loops vs non Apple Loop pre recorded audio). Hi, another little question. When I'm making a project and want to go to an other in my list of project, garageband close with autosaving and goes to the list of project. So if I have make some mod that I don't want to save, garageband save it the same. Someone knows how to exit a project and open an other without saving ? thank you

Any regular way to quit the current project will autosave it on an iPad or iPhone, iPod (switching to the project view, switching to anouther app).
A brute force way to exit the current project without saving is to reset your IOS device (hold down the Home button and press the Power button at the same time, until the phone restarts). This will quit GarageBand without auto saving the current project and you can open a different one after restarting your iPhone.
I got into the habit of duplicating a project, before starting to edi it. This way I always have a backup copy to revert to, if I do not like the current version.

How can I insert a song into lots of different projects without it duplicating so many time?

I have a website where I upload a daily one minute video, and I use the same song for the opening, and the same song for the closing. I have been trying to figure out why so much space is being used. One issue is that the songs I have been using for the opening and closoing are being uploaded over and over and over again.
What is the best way to do this so that the media isn't being duplicated over and over again? The files live in itunes, so is there any way to simply reference the file from the music folder instead of having to copy the media over and over again?

Hmmm... I made the opening in motion, and have set it as a opening bumer. So what I typically do is drag it in to the project time line from the right side of the screen (where my bumbers are) and then add the audio (from itunes) on top of it. So that audio is being duplicated on every single event. This was the only way I knew to do it so I could easily change the date without having to always set the right keyframes. (If there is an easier way, please let me know.)
For the ending bumber I just use a small video clip I made and insert it in each timeline. So I'm assuming that is also being duplicated every single time.

Project Resource Weekend Allocation

I have built up a large number of independant projects that are currently active in my department. Each was completely individual until this week when I decided I needed a single resource pool, which would allow me to easily see how my resources are
divided up or over allocated. However, one problem I have is that a large number of tasks are listed as e's, as in eday, eweek, etc. So any recource assigned to those tasks is automatically highlighted as over allocated. If I were to switch
the hours of that resource to a 24 hour schedule, it messes up the timelines I have established.
Is there any way that I can have exceptions, or turn off the indicators for weekend use, and only show up for when a resource is overallocated? Or would I need to go back and fix each timeline? I can do this going forward, but I don't want to
lose a lot of work already done.

Is there a particular reason for using elapsed duration? This is typically used for example after painting a wall for the task where the painting is drying. This drying task is independant of any calendar, weekends or exceptions. You should just use elapsed
for specific reasons.
That being said, adding exceptions won't change anything for tasks with elapsed duration, as I just mentionned. A workaround for removing the oervallocation warning (red guy) would be to change the leveling option (resource ribbon) to month by month.
By default, it is on a daily basis, meaning that the warning will appear as soon as Project detects at least 1 day with an overallocation. Encreasing the granularity to a monthly basis, you'd need to have overallocation at the month level to have the warning.
It might help (or not).
In case it doesn't, I suggest to use standard durations.

When preview or publish project, if I pass a question slide (move forward), then go back to previous slide (one before the question slide) and then go forward to the same question slide again, this question slide and all the rest of question slides in the project dose not enable me to answer it and i get a line response: "you did not answer this question completely".
What can i do to allow user to thumb through slides in project (forward and back whenever he wants) without disable the questions?
