Projecting Computer Screen onto Apple TV

I have a mac mini and I'd like to project the computer screen onto my tv. Can I do this through Apple TV?

Hi.
Yes, you can display your Mac mini computer screen on your television with AirPlay Mirroring and an Apple TV.
Your Mac mini must be a mid-2011 or newer model and running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
The Apple TV (2nd/3rd gen) must be running software update 5.0 or later.
I hope this is helpful.

  • I can't mirror my computer screen on Apple TV

Hi how can i fix this probleme it was workin good and stops
I try to connect and I lose my wifi signal for minutes that happens only when I try to mirror my computer screen on Apple TV

Sounds like an issue with your wireless network. Check for interference using istumbler, make sure router is up to date and refer to manual for configuration options.

  • Project iMac Screen to Apple TV?

Does the old Apple TV have the ability to receive screen projections or streaming from my iMac to then be seen on my TV?

Does the old Apple TV have the ability to receive screen projections or streaming from my iMac to then be seen on my TV?
    Sure... If you
    1) Capture the screen projector and/or streaming content,
    2) convert it in an TV compatible compression format,
    3) add it to iTunes for management,
    4) and sync or serve it to the TV just lake any other content.
There are no shortcuts here. If you want to watch/mirror your iMac screen to a TV then wire the iMac's video output directly to a compatible TV.

    Hi, edward.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are having a display issue with your MacBook Pro on your TV.  I would need a little more information regarding how you are connecting your device and what content is being displayed to provide a better answer.  However, here is the best troubleshooting resource to go through when experiencing these symptoms.

In technical support, sometimes you have to make educated guesses. I'm sorry that you were offended.
iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.

  • I have Keynote 6.2 and when my Mac Pro is hooked to a projector I cannot get the presenter notes to show on the computer screen and not on the projected screen. Any ideas?

I have Keynote 6.2 and when my MacPro is hooked to a projector with a slide presentation I cannot see my presentation notes on the computer screen and not on the projected screen. Any ideas?

Somethings obviously gone wrong with your installation of Keynote.
Try this repair for Keynote 6.2,  ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1  delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application
2  empty the trash:  Finder > Empty Trash
3  Shut down your Mac, wait 30 seconds, then hold down the Shift key while pressing the power button
When you see the grey Apple symbol and progress indicator (a spinning gear), release the Shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, then hold down the Shift key again as you click Log in.
4   Let the Mac fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
5  when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click  repair disc permissions
6  when complete, restart the Mac normally, Apple menu > Restart
7  install Keynote from the Mac App Store
let us know if this helped

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved.  That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.
    Regards
    TD

  • I have a new Apple TV which is working fine except that I cannot access .mov files which are in my iTunes Library. How can I get to these? I can run them on my computer and select Apple TV on the screen, but the Apple TV goes to a black screen

I have a new Apple TV which is working fine except that I cannot access .mov files which are in my iTunes Library. How can I get to these? I can run them on my computer and select Apple TV on the screen, but the Apple TV goes to a black screen

Mov is a container format, you'd need to look at the codec used by the movie file inside the container to know whether it will work with the Apple TV or not.

You're talking about Air Play Mirroring About AirPlay Mirroring in OS X
Your 2010 iMac doesn't meet the requirements For AirPlay mirroring but you can take a look at AirParrot http://www.airsquirrels.com/airparrot/

  • How do you mirror powerpoint or quick time onto apple tv without it showing up on your desktop/original screen?

I am currently running mavericks os x on an iMac. I would like to mirror my computer screen on to a TV screen using Mavericks/ Apple TV and continuously stream either a quick time video or power point full screen on the TV. Whenever I try to do this, it also takes over my iMac screen.. Does anyone know a way I can mirror stream this powerpoint or quick time full screen continuously on the tv screen and not on my computer screen?
    Thanks a bunch! =)

The only way to share content from itunes is through home sharing or airplay, which will require the laptop be awake a different running get itunes. If you have an IOS device you could transfer there and airplay.

  • Computer doesn't boot, stuck in white screen with Apple logo

I got a friend that has a MacBook 2.0GHz, Black. The computer had some sort of problem so he took out the HD and placed it into another computer (MacBook 2.2GHz, Black). For some reason whenever the computer boots, it gets stuck in the white screen with the gray Apple logo, and shows up a bar, as if it's loading some sort of firmware update. It never advances, and it doesn't go thru.
If he takes the same HD and puts it into an enclosure, first it would take a while to mount in another computer, and afterwards it would give some errors, but now it doesn't even load.
Before he had the issue with his original computer everything was working fine, and there was no update going on when the computer got broken. The problem that that computer has isn't related to the HD.

If you have physically removed the drive and connected it to another computer and it "took a while to mount" then it sounds like the drive itself is failing. Hopefully he maintains backups.
Boot the MacBook in "verbose" mode (press and hold down option+v while powering up)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1492
In this mode you will see all the boot messages scroll by instead of the typical white screen with Apple logo. You will likely be able to see messages indicating what the computer is trying to do -- for example messages indicating that having failures or retrying to read the hard drive.
The access arms on hard drives have to be precisely located above the "tracks" on the disk in order to read data. As the drive ages & wears, the accuracy of the arms can become sloppy, causing the read/write head to no longer be precisely located over a track. This results in failure to read correctly. Most drives have a useful life of about 5 years -- after which the failure rate will go up substantially. Fortunately, replacement hard drives are cheap.
