Projector Mode

I was trying to connect the hp laptop to my tv with the hdmi cable but I accidently pressed the 'only projector' mode and the screen has gone black. Restarted it a couple of times. It isnt working like whenever I start windows normally, the screen goes black but I can still hear voices of the user logging in and all. HELP

Hi, Try the following. Start the notebook and let Windows fully load for a few minutes. Press and release the f4 key. Press and release the right arrow. Hit enter. Regards, DP-K

  • List control issue in Projector mode after Printomatic

I'm working on an application in MX. I'm using a multi-select list control and mostly it's working fine. However, in Projector mode, under certain circumstances, my list is shown considerably reduced in size and, when I click on it, I get a Director player error: Property not found #selectedIndex.
I've narrowed the problem down to the use of Printomatic. Unfortunately I'm stuck with Printomatic for the time being.
I've tried changing the list to a single-select with no change. I've put an alert when I click on the list to determine whether the list object is receiving messages and it is. I've tried returning from the Printomatic calls to a frame where the list doesn't already exist and then recreating the list - no change.
It seems as though Printomatic is corrupting something related to the list. And, once it's been corrupted, it stays corrupted until I restart the executable.
Anyone have any suggestions? I don't have time right now to implement a printing class which is the only other idea I have.

Perhaps is better to continue here because I have the same symptom but due a different problem:
    Creating procedure sp_sqlagent_get_perf_counters...
    Error: 468, Severity: 16, State: 9.
Cannot resolve the collation conflict between "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" and "Latin1_General_CI_AS" in the equal to operation.
    Error: 912, Severity: 21, State: 2.
Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'sqlagent100_msdb_upgrade.sql' encountered error 200, state 7, severity 25. This is a serious error condition which might interfere with regular operation and the database will be taken
offline. If the error happened during upgrade of the 'master' database, it will prevent the entire SQL Server instance from starting. Examine the previous errorlog entries for errors, take the appropriate corrective actions and re-start the database so that
the script upgrade steps run to completion.
    Error: 3417, Severity: 21, State: 3.
Cannot recover the master database. SQL Server is unable to run. Restore master from a full backup, repair it, or rebuild it. For more information about how to rebuild the master database, see SQL Server Books Online.
SQL Trace was stopped due to server shutdown. Trace ID = '1'. This is an informational message only; no user action is required.
This is System Center dedicated instance so the defualt collation, as from SC requirements, is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS, but MSDB uses Latin1_General_CI_AS.
It seems that sqlagent100_msdb_upgrade.sql fails in creating the sp sp_sqlagent_get_perf_counters in the MSDB (in fact it doesn't exist).
Now I was thinking about changing sqlagent100_msdb_upgrade.sql introducing the collate parameter, but I have don't know where to find it.
My instance actually is UP due the -T902 parameter usage
Please try to write better code ;-)

  • T530, only projector mode, notebook's display still on

    Hello,
I have my T530 attached to docking station with an external display attached to it via display port. Everything is working properly, I can switch between notebook display and external monitor.
Only thing that bothers me is when I turn on my notebook (even if it was used in projector only mode before shutting down and notebook is still in docking station), "projector only" is still running, but the notebook's screen is activated, in a way that it actually does not show anything, but I can see that the display is backlit.
Solution to this is in Windows 7 "disconnect projector" and then set "projector only" again. Does anyone else experience the same?
    Thank you for your answers.

The backlight being lit shouldn't be happening AFAIK. Try the usual driver/BIOS update though.

  • A suggestion for Communicator and other clients - "Projector" mode

This is a bit whimsical, but also a bit practical...
There should be a status of "Projecting Desktop" that can be set.
I believe, at least on Vista & 7, the OS can indicate if a projector is connected and being used. If so, the client can indicate that a projector is connected as part of the status.
The practical part being that others are notified if someone is projecting their desktop - a projector icon would be ideal, but at least a notification before sending an IM that the recipient is projecting their desktop:
(Yes, of course the right answer is - don't send IMs like this...)

  • Video hides everything else in Projector mode!

I have a M4V video file embedded in a Flash movie, and I need to play the Flash movie at full screen using the Macintosh Projector format. When the Flash file is done in Actionscript 2, everything appears as it should, but if the Flash file is done in Actionscript 3 (which this particular needs, since it uses armatures), then the video fills up the whole screen and hides everything else. I figured out how to prevent the video from scaling to fit the screen (set the scaleMode parameter to "noScale"), but it still shows the video in the center of a black screen. How can I get it to stop messing with the file and just play the @#$! video where I put it?

if you're using an flvplayback component, assign its fullScreenTakeOver property to false.  if you're using some other method to play your video, use the help files to see if there's an identical property for the class you're using.

  • Windows 7 HDMI Issue - Switch to Projector only, now stuck

PLEASE I AM SO VERY STUCK.
My father told me to watch Netflix while I was home from university - using the new HDMI Cable we purchased - very proud that he had figured it out on his own. So I turned the TV input to HDMI, and, after loading my selected movie, plugged the cord into
the laptop (A Lenovo B575). It worked! I saw the Netflix loading screen on BOTH computer and TV. Great! BUT, the bottom few inches of the picture were cut off on the TV (An LG 32LN530B), so I decided to change the resolution a bit. I went into the control
panel to adjust and went too far - I forget now the resolution I chose, but I increased it. The TV then said "no input" as if no HDMI cable was there. I had closed the control panel while the screen was adjusting, and so I hit Windows+P to open
up the "Projector" modes, thinking this would bring me back to the same place.
Somehow, I mistakenly switched the output to "Projector Only", and thus the laptop's screen went black (black, not blank as if there were still a backlight). As there was no input for the TV because of the improper resolution, and no output for
the actual laptop monitor as it was configured to be projector only, I figured as soon as I unplugged the HDMI cord the screen would come back on. No such luck. I waited, and then after a few minutes decided to try Windows+P and blindly readjust. Still
no luck. I tried many combinations of the arrow keys, wait times between Windows+P and arrow keys, etc. The lights of the keyboard are all functioning completely normally, but don't seem to be responding to the controls. I also tried Fn+F3 (the equivalent
of Windows+P)... to little avail. I then tried Function and F2-F6 (all of the keys with orange 'functions'), respectively. Still nothing. To reiterate, no HDMI cord is inserted, computer is running perfectly, and both Windows+P and Function+F3
    tricks failed.
So, I restarted my computer and logged in again, successfully getting to the desktop. I tried to plug the HDMI cord as I had done initially, when it was all working properly, and - screen goes black again. It's as if it remembered that I set the secondary
or alternative display resolution to be higher than possible and on projector only. I tried everything again. I repeated this quite a few times, using different combinations. Still, the black screen remains. I went into the control panel again, to see if I
could adjust the resolution of the TV (secondary display) BEFORE it was connected. No luck. It would only let me adjust the resolution of the computer. After spending an excrutiating hour googling and finding no help anywhere, I tried to consult the TV's owner
manual. No help. I adjusted all the proper HDMI settings on the TV itself, and it still is causing the black screen.
I am hoping there is some way to make my computer "forget" the HDMI settings so that it will work as it did initially, before I got cocky and wanted to adjust things. Somebody, please help me. It's now 2am.

press F8 and choose "last known good configuration"
if doesn't help, try to remove your amd display and reinstall again

  • W530 Nvidia 2100m Projector Issues

    Hi,
I am having problems when connecting to projectors. For some projectors, it only allows me to connect to them when I choose "only projector" mode, not extended or duplicate. Even when I can connect, videos often are unplayable because intense video artefacting occurs. I just purchased a DLP projector and the projector will not display any picture no matter the settings. I've tried chaning both the nvidia settings and the settings through windows. My projector's name will come up in both dialogues but the projector will not output any picture.
Any ideas on what's going on here?
    Best,

Any type of advice here? Being able to use projectors for presentations is essential for my work.
I know the people on these forums are most likely not Lenovo employees, so anyone with some honest advice would be appreciated. I've read of these problems going back to 2011 with the w520, and it seems Lenovo never fixed the issue.
Should I honestly just give up on Lenovo? It seems that these machines are fatally flawed and the company doesn't act to do anything about it.
The W520 always worked.  But only when the BIOS Display setting was set to Discrete.
The W530 "should" work on Optimus or Discrete.  The NVIDIA GPU drives the external connections.
If you have tried more than one VGA cable and more than one external display type, then I think you have done all you can do from a troubleshooting perspective.  It should just work.

  • Flash sprite has to be visible (from YOU !) in authoring mode to   work !

If this can help (and if you can confirm !).
I already went through the trouble that you can't put a Flash
    sprite off
stage otherwise you loose control over it (you have to keep
    one pixel on
stage), but this is more tricky :
I suddenly had my Flash sprites working only in projector
    mode and I
discovered that lower right corner of the stage was not
    visible (stage
window was resized), which is where I hide my Flash sprites.
    As soon as
I could see the corner, problem was gone in authoring mode !

Why not make your FlashSprite invisible?
Or change it's z-index and put it behind everything
    else?

  • Stuck in Projector display???

I recently plugged my Macbook Pro into a projector for a presentation, and ever since my display has been stuck in the projector mode (too wide for the screen, strange looking).  Anyone know how to reset the display to normal?  Thanks!

Depending on your computer the native resolution will vary. so just keep changing resolutions until things look back to normal!

  • Projector image not as bright as monitor

    dudes and dudettes,
i watch movies/TV at home via my iBookG4 on projector. everything is honky-dory... EXCEPT!... the projector is kicking out an image several shades darker than what it is on the iBook monitor. i tried to mess with the projector setting, but the result is not really an improvement. i suspect it is somewhere inside of my control panel for displays. i took a quick look there and it seems to be a complex enough element that i do not want to go a try out various things on my own - if someone has some knowledge of this part of a mac, please respond. ideally, it would be great to set up a custom profile to which i can switch once i need to go to projector mode. many thanks in advance for all your help!
    cheerios!

I have the same issue with my iBook too, i have parts
of the screen that are different brightnesses then
other parts of the screen. I was told that it was
from the heat from it being on all the time.
The backlight in the ibook is a floresent lamp. They simply wear out with usage. The more time they are ON the sooner they die. That is why a 'screen saver' on your ibook does not save your screen, it wears the lamp out.
Florescent lamps can get dimmer on one end than the other. This can cause an irregular brightness. Other things (warpage) can also cause it.

the MBP-r detected the samsung display and the correct 1920x1080 resolution
but the TV said no signal.....
    plug and unplug doesnt help,
what am i doing wrong here?
    Kit

might the tv need to be set to a particular channel to see the signal like on the antique dvd's?
Is there a switch for analog mode? Turn that off.
Make certain the power cords are all pushed in as far as possible OK from samsung page:
LCD: How Do I Connect My Laptop To My Monitor?
Important: If you have a Sony Vaio laptop, click here to view our FAQ with important information regarding your laptop and Samsung monitors.
To connect your monitor to your laptop, follow these steps:
Turn off both the monitor and the laptop.
Using the appropriate cable, connect either:
The 15 pin D-sub out port on the laptop to the 15 pin D-sub in port on your monitor
The DVI out port on your laptop to the DVI in port on your monitor
The HDMI out port on your laptop to the HDMI in port on your monitor
Important: Connect only one of the signal cables.
Turn on your monitor and laptop.
Press the FN key (usually in the lower left side of the laptop keyboard) and, depending on your laptop, the F1-F12 function key. The monitor displays.
Note: The F1- F12 function key you should press often has the words LCD/CRT on it or a picture of a monitor. See sample image below of Function Key Location.
In addition, you may need to change the source on the monitor to get the monitor to display.
    Notes:
The sequence and options below may vary depending upon your laptop.
On most laptops, each time you press the FN key and the appropriate function key, you cycle through the following sequence.
Monitor display off, laptop display on
Both monitor display and laptop display on same desktop image (Clone, Dual View)
Both monitor display and laptop display on with one long desktop image. (Extend, Extended Image)
Monitor display on, laptop display off. (Presentation, Projector Mode)

I ran a VGA cable directly to the laptop's own video out and still nothing. • Dell Inspiron 7000 series dual monitor issue

Today tried to connect Dell Inspiron 7437 to external monitor using HDMI cord; it did not work. I changed setting to external monitor only and now cannot get an image on laptop screen or external monitor when HDMI cord is connected. Tried to restart computer; still goes to blank screen as soon as I plug in HDMI.
    1. How to a return to default setting for laptop display so it's only set to laptop?
    2. Is it possible to connect inspiron 7000 to external monitor with hdmi?
    Thank you

    Hello,
Yes, it is possible to connect the Inspiron 7000 series to an external monitor using an HDMI cable.  Normally you can control how the video is displayed by using the <FN>+<F8> key combination.  Normally your options are LCD only, duplicate display on the LCD & the external monitor, or just display on the external monitor (projector mode).  Try that key combination to see if you can toggle between the available displays.
One thing you also might want to check to see is if that monitor is set to a resolution that your system cannot handle.  Here is a link to the product support pages for the Inspiron 7437, and you will find user manuals on the page that will help explain which resolutions your video card can handle.  You may need to set your monitor back to default settings (see your user manual for that monitor for details) and that should enable your system to send video to it.
Let me know if any of this helps or if you have additional questions.

  • T61 FN Key worked sporadically, then stopped working completely - Anyone know a cure?

    Hi,
    I'm running a T61 (8892-02U), with XP SP3.  All's been stable for about a year.
Within the last month my FN (Function) key became more and more sporadic.  I typically only used it in conjunction with the PgUp key to control the keyboard light, and Home/End for screen brightness and F7 for entering projector mode.
Sometimes when I held it down, pressing the the second key would produce the correct response, other times it wouldn't.  Finally it stopped working entirely.
I haven't modified the program set or turned off features (that I know of).
I can initiate presentation director by running the executable.  I really miss the ability to dim the screen.
Anyone else having the same problem?  Have I inadvertently turned it off somehow?  I thought it was hardwired.
Is there any way I can test if the key contacts are still good (besides using it in conjunction with the aforementioned keys)?
    Does anyone have a cure?
    Thanks!

    mressl, welcome to the forum,
Fn + PgUp, (diagonally opposite from each other), should turn on and off the ThinkLight at the top of the screen. (PgDn does nothing and is irrelevant). This should work as soon as the system is started, it does on my T43 before entering my power on password.
Please excuse a potentially stupid question, but have you had a look under the key? I once had a case where I got the "merry runaround" because a particular key didn't work, the cure was to remove the half a peanut that had found it's way underneath it.

  • W530 - Display Backlight Bug

Hi,I use an external monitor with my laptop. On resuming, Windows automatically detects the monitor and switches to it using Projector Mode*. That works for me, however, the laptop's backlight remains lit at its regular brightness level. I sidestepped this bug via a batch file that switches to Extend Mode* and switches back to Projector Mode, but is there an actual fix available? (*As seen in the Win+P menu)

Are you saying it is always off? Sudden backlight failure is usually a blown motherboard fuse.
