Projects & Digital Signatures

Hi Experts,
One of our Client deals with Projects.
According to my solution, every Project will have a Project Code and WH with same name.
1. The material lying at one project location some time is transfered to another Project location, and that has to be linked with Project Code for Costing purpose in Stock Transfers.
In SBO there can be only One Project linked, how to deal with this situation.
2. When the material is Purchase, it is booked as expense insted of current asset and they also want the quantity available.
Can i assign Expense account at Inventory account in G/L Determination, If so what all the things i should mind
3. My Client also wants Digital Signature of the approved person on the doc's. I have no idea about this, Can any help me about this.
Thanks in Advance
Regards,
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep
The best way to handle items to an expense account is to set them as non inventory items. This will automatically use the expense account for the account determination. The only problem is that SAP Business One will not have any on hand quantity for the item. You could try changing the stock account to be an expense account but I would not recommend this (as it seems you might have already done).
In the scenario you have, the best would be to purchase stock into the asset account and then use stock transfer to move it between projects or use goods issue to expense as the items are consumed for the project. That way you would know which items have being used or not. Please let me know what kind of projects these are, ie. construction over time, etc. How are customers billed, on milestones, etc.?
Note that you can change the allocated project code against the journal entry, though I would advise you to use this carefully as any mistakes would cause the project reports to be inaccurate.
As for the project on stock transfers, in the project column (form settings to activate) you can select a different project for each item in the rows. If the same item is being moved to 2 different locations, this will not be a problem as each project is also a warehouse and you must add 2 rows for the item and set a warehouse for each one.
With regards to digital signatures, this is not that easily handled in SAP Business One. The problem is how to relate a jpg or bmp image file (for example) to a specific user and not allow other users to access the file.

  • How do I create a digital signature on a TCP or a UDP flow?

    I am trying to convert samples of a voice signal, which is intercepted from the microphone, into fixed length digital signature bytes (using Hash, or) and attach these fixed length bytes to a communication session between two terminals (UDP or TCP "HTTP"). The other receving end should be able to identify the person at the sending side.
    Any thoughts how I could do this?
    Any help is most appreciated.
    Sam

    Sam,
    If you have the Sound and Vibration toolkit it may make some things easier for you regarding the voice-recording aspect, but if you aren't recording and playing back the actual sounds, just using this for detection and digital signatures, you shouldn't need to worry about this.
    1. For this you are going to be doing some form of Analog Input.  Then you will be storing this data to a file.  There are examples for both of these aspects in the NI Example Finder from within LabVIEW.
    2. If you are going to be doing the FFT, there is a VI under the Mathematics Palette that performs this operation.  Again you can use the same example for saving data to the file.
    3. You would need to figure out what needs to be done to create a digital signature for this.  There may be something in the Sound and Vibration toolkit for this, but I do not know.
    4. For the UDP or TCP transfers, there are several examples for doing this and they cover how to create the connection and transfer / receive data.  These too are in the NI Example Finder
    5. This goes back to number 4, this would indeed be a separate program, but everything else would just be one project and one program.
    6. This would depend on how the ID was created in step 3, again whether you do the algorithm on yourself or not.  For comparing to the table, you would use a Search Array and some comparison functions, all depending on how you stored the data initially.
    7. Graphs are all available on your Front Panel of your VIs and you would just wire up the data that you'd like and have it displayed on the graph.
    There will not be an example for everything that you are wanting to do.  The examples are meant to help you get started.  Have you used LabVIEW before?  I would recommend doing the 3 Hour LabVIEW Introduction Course to help you get started.  This will cover some of the basic concepts that you will need to know in order to create your application.
    Unfortunately I cannot write the code for you, only guide and direct you.  LabVIEW is a programming language and does require the user to lay out and create their own program.  You will not be able to just find three or four pre-built code-snippets and connect them together to get your appliction working the way you want it.  You will need to develop the applications yourself.

  • Digital signature process has not been completed yet

    Hi Everyone
    One more issue today. we had digital signatures process for couple of our statuses in DMS and later part of the project they were revoked due to various reasons.
    Now we move the status of the approved document  i.e. RL (Released) to NE( Initial status) and made the changes to the same document. When DIR status changed from NE to AP( for approval, previously we had digital signature active for this status) we are having issues and not allowing further to change the status (Message appears as "Status does not allow you to change certain data")
    Is there any way I can change the status of the DIR? I can't copy this document and create a new version for many reasons.
    Appreciate your quick response.
    Regards
    Prasad

    Hi Athol
    Thanks for your promt reply. We had to revoke deigital signatures as we have introduced new work flow system I.e. CENIT which is affliated to SAP... So approval process is tracked and done in that system, so it updates DIR In SAP whenever document is approved in that system. Cenit work flow is implemented through PLM 7.0 Net weaver business client.
    So please let me know if we you have any suggestion to change the status of the documents.  We wanted to obsolete these DIR's as we have created new versions.

  • Variable numbers of digital signatures in a form?

    I'm trying to build a template form that can be used to propose new projects.  I have a dynamic table where the author can add rows to add offices that will be involved in the project.  I also have a table at the end that represents a "workflow" that the final proposal will go through so that all the offices involved can approve the document.  Right now, when a row is added to the offices table, a corresponding row is added to the workflow table.  But I can't place digital signatures in the repeating portion of the workflow table.  I understand this is not supported, but does anyone know of another way to achieve the same effect?  Basically I need a form that can support a variable number of digital signatures.

    Jennah
    I'm not sure I fully understand your question.  Are you looking to add signatures in an automated fasion in an ad hoc fasion, or did you want to design the forms with signature fields already on the PDF form?
    Assuming you are using LiveCycle Designer to create the forms, you can ad signature field(s) to the form when you create the forms.  When a user clicks on the signature field, they will be prompted to select a digital certificate to sign the form with.  Note that if the end users only have Reader, the form will need to be Reader Extended (to enable the ability to sign a PDF with reader)
    There are other third party methods to sign PDF documents such as CIC's SignIt.

  • Digital Signatures for cProjects Approval

    Hi Folks,
    I am on cProjects 4.5 and from what I understand there are 2 options for this based on whether or not I check the "Signature of Approval with User Certificate" box in Project Type config.
    Unchecked - user is prompted for cProjects password and this works fine. Only issue for us is, we are on the portal and most likely cProjects password will be different and unknown to user. As per note 928527 this is standard behavior and tough luck for anybody on the portal.
    Checked - use is given the ability to digitally sign the PDF approval document. When I select "sign" on the PDF I am given the ability to create a new ID or use an existing ID from a file, server etc. I created a new ID and signed the document. Once I do this and click the transfer button the system appears to hang. The progress indicator appears and keeps going.
    Therefore my questions are:
    1. Is there any additional config I need to do in cProjects. ADS or anywhere else?
    2. How exactly does adobe digital signatures work? If anybody simply create a signature how does that provide any verification of authenticity?
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Lashan

    Hi,
    please see teh Configuration Content for cProjects 4.5 available in SAP Solution Manager and also as PDF attachment to SAP Note 1035436.
    There it says:
    Making Settings for the Approval
    Use
    You can use user certificates for digital signatures of approvals.
    Prerequisites
    ● You are using Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.
    ● You have a user certificate that is suitable for digital signatures (for example, the single
    sign-on certificate).
    ● You have installed Adobe® Reader and Adobe Document Services.
    Procedure
    To verify the signature, enter the corresponding root certificate in the certificate list of the
    Personal Security Environment (PSE, transaction STRUST). For more information, see the
    documentation for the activity and the Adobe Document Services u2013 Configuration Guide NW

    In fact, what is described in the ADS documentation referenced above is that you have to install
    the certificate also on the ADS.

  • Installation of a digital signature

    Hello!
    I have the following problem and I am desperate.
    Today I have registered a new digital signature and I have to install some drivers on my Mac. One of it is from the following website http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid.html .
    Even though I follow all the instructions I received on an installation cd religiously, I constantly get an error message.
    I have to make the following in the Terminal:
    sudo -s
    type my password
    ./MacOSX/configure
    make all
    make install
    And that is how it looks like in my Terminal window:
    Last login: Wed Sep 10 23:51:23 on ttys000
    dannys-mbp:~ DYD$ sudo -s
    Password:
    bash-3.2# ./MacOSX/configure

    ERROR!
    run ./MacOSX/configure from the source top directory
    bash-3.2#
    I have placed the driver folder in my Home directory (DYD) but somehow it cannot be found.
    Can somebody give me some piece of advice what might be the problem or what I have been doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Piotr,
    You could try with the below code to add reference to your VSTO project:
    parameters.ReferencedAssemblies.Add("Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.dll");
    parameters.CompilerOptions = "/lib:\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\\Visual Studio Tools for Office\\PIA\\Office14\"";

    My project uses a multi page PDF which has signature fields in different pages. Because of performance issues i am showing only one page at a time and using navigation buttons to browse through pages. So when the PDF loads it displays Page1 and i sign the Digital Signature field and Click the next button which has event like

  • Initializing Factory class with Digital Signature

    Hi All,
    I am trying to Initialize the Factory class using digital signature. These are the steps I fallowed.
    1. Created a Java application "Application1" in Jdeveloper.
    2. Copied config, ext, lib folder from the Design console directory to the Application1/Project1 folder.
    3. added the lib and ext jars to the project properties.
    4. Modified the run/debug profile in the project properties to point to the xlconfig file in config folder.
    5. added the "-DXL.HomeDir=. -Djava.security.auth.login.config=config\authwl.conf" in the java options.
    Java code:
    public class SignatureLogin {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
    Properties jndi =
    ConfigurationClient.getComplexSettingByPath("Discovery.CoreServer").getAllSettings();
    tcSignatureMessage signedMsg = tcCryptoUtil.sign("xelsysadm", "PrivateKey");
    tcUtilityFactory factory = new tcUtilityFactory(jndi, signedMsg);
    tcUserOperationsIntf usrIntf = (tcUserOperationsIntf)factory.getUtility("Thor.API.Operations.tcUserOperationsIntf");
    System.out.println("signature login complete");

    Hi,
    Were you able to resolve the issue as I am facing same issue.
    I have a custom application deployed on same weblogic managed server where OIM is installed but when I try to find user in OIM it gives me null pointer exception.
    I have even checked the username with which connection is established using ioUtilityFactory.getUserName() and it gives me the correct user.

    You seem to be missing the point about signing. Signing signs each file in a jar/war and adds this signature information to the jar/war. It does not encrypt the content of the jar. It does not protect the jar from being tampered with. It just signs each class and file in the jar so that if one checks ALL the signatures using the appropriate certificate and ALL the signatures are correct then the owner of the certificate signed the jar/war file.
    'war' files have an additional complication in that if a war file contains a set of jar files then these may have to be signed if they are deployed as Applets or WebStart applications but these signatures do not have to use the same private key as was used to sign the 'war' file.
    If you want JBOSS to reject a tampered war file then it is up to JBOSS to check the signature so this then becomes a JBOSS problem.

  • Document collaboration:  attach a written (not digital) signature

    Hello, hoping the community can give me some pointers to automate a process.
    I am currently part of a business process that requires me to receive a document, affix my written (not digital) signature to it along with a date, and pass it on to the next person.  My current workflow is to receive the .pdf, print it, sign it with a pen, re-scan it into a .pdf, and send it on to the next person.  I recognize this is a waste not only of time but also of paper and ink, as well.
    I have a Wacom digital tablet that allows me to make pen inputs, like a signature.  How can I use Adobe Acrobat to sign the document in Acrobat using my digital tablet and pen, skipping the requirement to print it, sign it with an ink pen, and re-scan it?  I suspect it may have something to do with layers in Acrobat, but I'm an Acrobat newbie so I'm not too smart on it.
    Thanks for your time and help!

    There are a number of options. A common thing to do is create a custom stamp, so you can easily apply it whenever needed. For example: http://blogs.adobe.com/acrolaw/2007/02/creating_a_tran_1/
    You can also use the Pencil commenting tool. This is what is used when (in Acrobat 9) you select: Advanced > Sign & Certify > Apply Ink Signature
    It is a good idea to then flatten the signature so other users can't easily modify it. For this you can use this handy JavaScript-based utility that lets you selectively flatten annotations: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Dynamic date in Digital Signature

    I am looking for a method to add a custom dynamic date field in a digital signature or modify the location and format of the Date field that is already included in the Digital ID Appearance.  We are not interested in using a dynamic stamp, if we can avoid it.  We are interested in the extra layer of security that the "Sign & Certify" process provides.
    We have a signature box on a Construction Title Sheet that has the Date field below the Signature field and I have the custom image created and would like to add a dynamic date that is applied when I sign the document.  I tried a javascript in the same method that you would use in a dynamic stamp but it is not working.
    Can anyone lend some assistance?
    Thanks in advance!

    No, I am not adding blank signature fields to a PDF.  Well..  at least, that wasn't what I was intending when I posed the question.
    I have a PDF that is created using a piece of CADD software that is the Title Sheet to a set of plans.   Right now, all of the information on that title sheet is filled out using the CADD software.  Project title, contract number, milepoint limits, table of contents, Federal Aid number, an image showing a general location of the project on a map, etc... Once that PDF is created, we want to be able to distribute it to up to 12 people for Digital Signatures.  Not knowing the exact difference between a Certifying Signature and Approval Signature, we want to be able to use the Sign & Certify process, NOT the Custom Stamp.
    I was hoping there would not be a need for the designers/engineers to have to manually add the Date and Signature fields for each of the 12 blocks for every title sheet they create (some might have to create up to 8 or 10 different title sheets with differing information a month).
    The other route we could go would be a drastic change to how we create the Title Sheets.  We would almost have to turn it into a form and enter the information on the title sheet in Adobe as opposed to using our CADD program to complete the information.  The "background" image would be the title sheet with a whole bunch of fields that need to be filled out, along with image fields and signature fields that automatically fill specific date fields, similar to another post I was reading earlier today. That change in business practice would be hard to force these people to accept, I'm afraid.
    So, what I was hoping for was to use the Sign & Certify > Place Signature process and have them place a custom signature file using their Digital ID and have that file contain a dynamic date field that is automatically populated similar to how a dynamic stamp in the Commenting tools work.
    It doesn't seem like that is possible though, unfortunately.
    By the way, I really appreciate the time you are taking to help me through this.

    When using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications within any office application (Excel in this case), i cannot see the certificate store when creating digital certificates. It appears to be localised to the operating system but can't seem to find the issue.

    As far as I know, If we want to use the digital signatures, we need to Digital Certificate for VBA Projects tool which a set of extra tools. I recommend we repair/reinstall the tool with a backup install CD.
    Then, we may follow the below links to reset a digital signatures and add the digital signatures in the trust list(Location: File>Option>Trust center.) to test if it is helpful:
