I have made my developments in oracle forms6i , now i want to make a project , can anyone help how to make a Project .

try oracle Project Builder. Installed with Developer 6i Setup.
Oracle Configuration Manager (Tool from Oracle Collaboration Suite) is also very useful tool to perform the task of version controlling, it could help you too.

"PL/SQL tables reside in the private PL/SQL area of the Oracle Server database instance; they are not available as client-side structures at this time. As a result, you cannot declare and manipulate PL/SQL tables in your Oracle Developer/2000 environment."

Unable to open/edit project in project professional form PWA(project server 2010)

i have been working perfectly and opening my projects with project professional from PWA
All of a sudden,i get this error: no permission to read enterprise global file when trying to edit my projects in project professional from the PWA
i have also tried opening the project from project professional directly and it says (you do not have sufficient permissions to perform the requested action)
please what is the cause of this issue and what can i do to resolve it?

Hello kehinde,
The cause of this problem is somebody changed something.
To resolve, I would clear out the cache to see if that resolves anything.
Then, I would reboot system and see if that resolves.
If still no go, then I would look into security settings, and start doing some detective work. I keep a version of project server in a separate instance, that is completely out of the box, so I can have a reference point for settings.
If still not solution, then I would resave the global file settings.

"Cannot create project" + Lost former projects

When trying to start a new project in iMovie, I am prompted with,"Please check the disk to ensure there is enough free space and you have permission to write projects." How do I remedy this problem? I have 213.28 GB free.

Two things to try:
1. Try deleting the preferences file for iMovie. Go to the Desktop, choose Go Menu (hold the down Option Key) and choose Library. Navigate to Preferences>com.apple.iMovieApp.plist (for iMovie '11). Move that .plist to the trash and restart iMovie. Then see if you get the same result
2. Try repairing the preferences. Go to the Applications>Utilties> Disk Utility. Launch Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. When that completes, restart the Mac and open iMovie try creating a new Project.

Oracle Webcenter Forms Recognition A/P Project

Hi, I am new to OFR. I am using ODC and OFR for scanning and verifying the documents and have automated the complete process. However, I am required to generate reports based on OFR statistics such as documents Imported, OCR, Extract, Export, Vendor Analysis, Invoice Processed, etc. using Apex reporting application(application express). I have some scripts for creating reporting application in apex. It is been mentioned to execute those scripts using application builder, but after installing Apex I don't find any application builder unlike after installing the database 11g express edition. However, those scripts got successfully executed using Template Application in Apex, but am not able to use that application. All I need to do is run a URL for getting those reports based on ORF statistics, but I am not able to open the URL in web browser (error: error processing request - no data found). Can any help me on this or let me know if I am doing anything wrong?

There is a sample non-AP project for Forms Recognition available though the Knowledge Base on My Oracle Support.
While this sample is not a 'tutorial' it does go some way to describing the process of creating a project from scratch, and provides a 'starting point' for doing that.

Error on new windows 8.1 project: The type or namespace name 'Foundation' does not exist in the namespace

I upgraded to win 8.1 and VS 2013. I created a new Windows 8.1 C# grid project and tried to compile it and I'm seeing the following error: Error 1 The type or namespace name 'Foundation' does not exist in the namespace [my namespace](are
you missing an assembly reference?)
The errors are in navigationhelper.cs line 59

Windows phone and mvc projects are working fine and I've installed all the updates and even tried to fix vs 2013.
Any help Is greatly appreciated.

I did some more investigation and noticed that if I create an app with a "." in the name then this problem occurs. For example create a windows store project with the default name "App1": this will compile.
However if I name the project "App1.Forms" to correspeond with the default namespace I want, then this problem occurs. Still investigating but anyone should be able to repro it with that step.

Error trying to open an Excel worksheet...getting Visual Basic MS Forms error

Hi
We have just upgraded a user from Office 2007 to 2013. However he is now unable to open an Excel spreadsheet and keeps getting Visual Basic errors
MS Forms error. “Could not load an object because it is not available on this machine.”
Acknowledge the error then..
MS VBA error “Compile error Can’t find project or library”.
On acknowledging and closing VB window the spreadsheet is available although VB is not running.
VBA Project (Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object Library). However we still received the same errors.
So we reinstalled Office 2013 to see if this would update the dll files. Alas the same error. Another user who works with VB said the FM20.dll files should be deleted and replaced with new ones. We acquired another FM20.dll file deleted the older one and
replaced it in the folder. Rebooted but still the same error.
He is using a 64bit Windows machine with Office 2013 click2run installed.
We have spent 6 hours today trying to fix it with no luck.....Please can you help??

Form Controls stop working after December 2014 Updates

For some users, Form Controls (FM20.dll) are no longer working as expected after installing MS14-082 Microsoft Office Security Updates for December 2014. Issues are experienced at times such as when they open files with existing VBA projects using forms
controls, try to insert a forms control in to a new worksheet or run third party software that may use these components.
You may received errors such as:
"Cannot insert object"
"Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found"
"The program used to create this object is Forms. That program is either not installed on your computer or it is not responding. To edit this object, install Forms or ensure that any dialog boxes in Forms are closed."
* Note In this last error message, the Forms text may also be replaced by the GUID of the control.
Additionally, you may be unable to use or change properties of an ActiveX control on a worksheet or receive an error when trying to refer to an ActiveX control as a member of a worksheet via code.
Steps to follow after the update:
After updating, the cached control type libraries (extender files) may be out of sync. To resolve this issue, you must delete the cached versions of the control type libraries (extender files) on the client computer. To do this, perform a search on your
hard disk for files that have the ".exd" file name extension and delete all the .exd files that you find. These .exd files will be re-created automatically when you use the new controls the next time that you use VBA. These extender files will be
under the user's profile and may also be in other locations, such as the following:

%temp%\Excel8.0
%temp%\VBE
Scripting solution:
Because this problem may affect more than one machine, it is also possible to create a scripting solution to delete the EXD files and run the script as part of the logon process using a policy. The script you would need should contain the following lines
and would need to be run for each USER as the .exd files are USER specific.

del %temp%\excel8.0\*.exd
del %appdata%\microsoft\forms\*.exd
del %appdata%\microsoft\local\*.exd

Additional step:
If the steps above do not resolve your issue, another step that can be tested (see warning below):
1. On a fully updated machine and after removing the .exd files, open the file in Excel with edit permissions.
2. Open Visual Basic for Applications > modify the project by adding a comment or edit of some kind to any code module > Debug > Compile VBAProject.
3. Save and reopen the file. Test for resolution.
If resolved, provide this updated project to additional users.
Warning: If this step resolves your issue, be aware that after deploying this updated project to the other users, these users will also need to have the updates applied on their systems and .exd files removed as well.
If this does not resolve your issue, it may be a different issue and further troubleshooting may be necessary.

In case it is of any help in identifying why this update caused errors, the specific instance I have experienced is as follows:
The application uses Visual Basic (6.5) for Excel. The piece of code causing an error (438) was as follows:

In this case (in two environments: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and 32 bit, Excel 2007) the cure was to uninstall the problem security update KB2596927.

How to add a custom field to the "Projects" page "Group by" data menu list

Hi,
I'm deploying Project Online and I want to group projects by a custom field on the "Projects" page. Currently I can see options for group by Project Name, Start, Finish, % complete etc. I would like to group by a custom field of programme name
which is filled in on the Project Details form.
I can create the enterprise field etc, however I can't work out how to make the new enterprise field appear in this list. Or am I barking up the wrong tree and should be creating separate Project Types for each programme?
Any help an advise greatly appreciated.

I am having problems in running report from form.
I am using oracle 9i on windows 2000 server and no 9iAS at the moment. On client side, i have windows xp and 9iDS installed. I want to run report from forms in 9iDS testing environment.
my forms are running ok but now i need to run report. so what i have done is that i have created a report object in form and following are enteries present in it at the moment.

i have installed report server with following command
rwserver -install 9irep
i have changed entry in rwservlet.properties like
SINGLESIGNON=NO and i have removed the following entire block of 9irep.conf, which i have read from some documentation

i get the following error message when i run my form
frm-41214 Unable to run report
and then next message is
frm-41217 unable to get report job status
i debugged the report id and it is
9irep_0
returned by Report_Job_Id := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(Report_Id);
When I checked the Report Queue Manager
it is showing status like
(9irep)Terminated with error
and detail it shows is
Unable to connect to the specified database.
Now I am wondering what to do next.
any suggestions???????

Hello,
From your description, it seems like the report is faling due to a database authentication problem. When you run your report from Forms, Forms internally passes the its database connection information to Reports automatically. So ensure that you are connected to a valid database in Forms, before the report is called.
Please verify whether a simple report which does not require a database connection, for example, a report containing only a boilerplate text object, is running correctly. Also, in the trigger code that you have specified, you should add the following:
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(Report_Id, REPORT_DESTYPE, CACHE);
so that the report output gets generated to the server cache, and can be retrieved using rwservlet/getjobid.

Forms migration and Ajax

I am working on a survey for a migration project, Oracle forms to j2ee. The system is for expert power users who will need a powerful user interface.
Traditional webpages will be insufficient. We are considering Ajax to boost the power of the user interface. Are there any plans for jHeadStart to support migration to Ajax?

JHeadstart uses ADF Faces in release 10.1.3, which supports AJAX features (like Partial Page Rendering). I suggest you check out the JHeadstart 10.1.3 tutorial which contains numerous examples of AJAX techniques:

Note that JDeveloper Release 11, expected for next calendar year, will contain a large new set of rich UI components, which will support things like drag and drop (for example to switch table column order), and table scrolling similar to forms using a scrollbar and up/down arrow keys.
Once R11 is out, JHeadstart will add generating support for these new rich components.
So, there is already a lot of AJAX support today, and it will be getting better and better. Leveraging/upgrading to the new UI components when available will be easiest for JHeadstart users: Regenerating the application with the new rich component templates will suffice.

Where to place the oracle 10g forms and reports folder in Linux server

Hi....
Currently iam migrating a module to oracle 10g.
All my modules which consists of form folders and report folders are inside a
folder called PROJECT and placed in C:\ in windows server.
So when i want to call a form or report i have used path as 'C:\PROJECT\module_name\form_name.fmx';
Now my client wants his project to be used in LINUX based server.
Now i want to know where i have to place my Project's form folder and reports folder
and how i have to call them...

Can you say how can i call reports as u said hardcoding the path while calling report is not a good practice.I agree with Dhiraj Madan, hardcoding paths is a very bad idea, your application becomes non-portable.
For FORMS_PATH you can use default.env, as already said (or <your envfile>.env, if any).
The same can be done for REPORTS_PATH, by using reports.sh script, in $ORACLE_HOME/bin.

URGENT- Need advice on executing scripts from Forms 6i

Quick background info:
I'm working on a conversion project from Forms 4.5 client/server applications to a three tier, web based Forms 6i environment.
We're running Oracle 8i DB on HP-UX machines, Oracle 9ias on HP-UX machines, and users access forms through Netscape
on Win2000 platform.
The problem:
I have a SQL execution interface form from which users have been able to run dynamic SQL scripts w/o having direct access to
a SQL Plus prompt (uses the 'HOST' command in 4.5). How can this functionality be implemented in the three tier environment?
Unless other options are available, my plan is to use a Java servlet to access the 8i database on the UNIX box and display
output on an html page. Is there a better/easier way?!
Any advice is appreciated...

You can probably still use the host to sqlplus, but this time it will run on the Forms Server.
You just need to make sure that the dynamic SQL files are uniquly identified for each customer.

Problem in running animation in forms runtime , can any body help me

Hi,
I did a small project using forms 6I . When I run my project the first cansvas named Welcome Screen will be displayed. I.e this is the first canvas displayed. Now my problem is : In that WelcomeScreen canvas I placed a OLE object and inserted a Powerpoint presentation file i.e .propic.ppt file. I setted custom animation setting for all object in that presentation slide. Now my requirement is to animate that file with formruntime i.e once I run the project opening canvas should be displayed and all the objects in the OLE i.e. ppt file within runtime. That is menu attached should be displayed as it is and presentation should be animated. After that I go to data entry module by selecting appropriate menu item from the menu. For this problem what I tried is I imported OLE Control from tools menu in formbuilder and make the OLE properties that is path of the ppt file and Activation property is set to doubleclik . When I runned my project after these settings, if I double click then it is showing slidewithout animation and my main windows and all other windows disappearing. When I click end show in slide then it is returning to my formsruntime module. This is not the requirement, all that i want is my runtimewindows should be displayed within which the presenation file must be animated. Is it possible to do so, if so please suggest the way to improve the visual quality of my project.
