  • MS Project Integration with cProjects

    Dear All,
We are testing the MS Project Integration with cProjects 4.0. We have 1 query.
While importing the Project from MS Project to cProjects if changes are done then it creates the new project in cProject system.
Is it the standard MS Project Integration functionality ? We want the system to update the cProject only for the changes after Import is done. Can we get this ?
    Thanks & Regards
    Ashish Kulkarni

The system will create a new project only if you have cleared the Project ID field (in MS project).
Else (if you do not change the Project ID field), the system creates a simulation with the standard system provided simulation for the project.
Once you have the simulation ready (in cProjects), you are supposed to reconcile the operational project (main project in cProjects) with this simulated copy to bring the updates/changes into effect.
    Hope this helps...

  • Oracle Projects integration to Primavera

    Hi,
We are integrating Oracle Projects to Primavera for a construction client.
    We are able to:
    - Send project header and wbs information from Oracle Projects to Primavera
    - Send activity and resource assignment from Primavera to Oracle
However, when we enter actual efforts and dates in Primavera, we are NOT able to interface this information back to Oracle Projects.
All setups as per 'E15794-01_PIP Integration pack.pdf' document and Project Management User Guide are done.
Has anyone done a Oracle Projects-Primavera integration, or has any clue? Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards
    Balaji

    Hi Dean and Dina,
Thanks for your answers. Following is the missing info:
    - Yes, we are using the AIA PIP
    - We are using 'Workplan enabled' projects for integration with a 'Partially Shared Structure'
    - In integration options, we are only integrating 'Workplan' with a 'Working Version'
    - We are trying to send only progress information from P6 to Oracle Projects, not the time card info
Iniitially, when trying to send progress from P6 to Oracle Projects, we were getting the error - 'You cannot update a published version of the workplan'
However, after checking the following flags, we stopped getting any errors in AIA/middleware and still not getting any data into Oracle Projects:
Projects --> Setup --> Integration settings:
Integrate - Workplan - Send Task - Current Working Version
Integrate - Workplan - Receive Task
    Workplan --> setup:
    Allow Physical Percent Complete Collection
    Allow Physical Percent Complete Overrides
    Thanks for your help.

  • Integration with Primavera

Is there anyone in this forum who has worked or implemented an integration between Oracle Projects and Primavera for the business processes of a construction company. We are in an early stage of implementing Oracle E-Business suite. We are also a Primavera P6 enterprise users. However our implementors are specialists in Accounts and Purchase only. They are not able to give us valuable inputs as to why or why not we should integrate Primavera to Oracle Projects.
I would highly appreciate if anyone can advise me on this.
    Regards

    Hi Hawker,
Yes you can integrate with just the Financial structure. There is no need for a WBS if it serves no purpose for you.
At first I thought you meant performance like speed, but I believe you mean how you're doing versus schedule, am I correct? That can easily be done in Primavera and you're already collecting your progress in Primavera, and bring across actuals from Oracle so you're probably best off evaluating performance in P6, but of course the option is there in Oracle EBS as well.
Yes you can integrate with just the Financial structure. There is no need for a WBS if it serves no purpose for you. If you do have a WBS (and you would have to have Project Management to do so) then you have likely already made a decision on how your structures will fit together. Fully Shared, Partially, non shared etc. What you choose here will determine how you can use the integration. Fully or Partially shared Fin Structure and WBS means you MUST integrate to the workplan. What your consultants are saying is that you're probably going to choose a partially shared or non-shared mapping if the structures will never be the same, and not fully shared. Fully shared means every WBS task equals a corresponding Fin structure task.
For the E&C industry we expect that a lot of customers are just going to choose the Financial structure integration, but other industries might want more control in Oracle projects and to integrate to the WBS. One thing we heard from customers is that they wanted flexibility so of course that's why we offer both choices.
What we see now from E&C companies is a wide variety of current solutions. Some home grown integrations, some companies doing nothing but hoping they can integrate at some point because they realize they're missing value added information in each system, and some companies using another third party like OP3.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi,
The Primavera intergration works with the "Standard Intergration" of Oracle 11i & R12.1 with the version of P6, this is the statement was in by the market experts. Even I have not worked on this intergration part of primavera with Oracle. still, I can provide you some search engine links, which could help you in http://www.projectp.com/products/op3.php ; http://www.projectedconsulting.com/index.php/community/blog/2010/04/primavera-and-oracle-projects-integration/

  • Integration with Third Party Project Management Software

My company is looking for software that can be "bolted on" to Oracle Projects to provide more robust project managment functionality. We already know of two (Microsoft Project and Primavera), but we'd like to hear from other companies who may have implemented other solutions.

    James:
I've been involved on 2 projects that included integration into Projects. On both occasions Oracle's Activity Management Gateway (AMG) was used. AMG is the open interface for Projects. We used it on one occasion with Primavera Expedition to load budgets and the WBS and on another with MS Excel to upload budget information. ODBC and AMG was used on the MS Excel project.

  • Project Management for Primavera Integration

    Dear All,
I hope someone completed primavera and 11i integration successfully using AIA PIP. can anyone clear that where Oracle Project management is required or an optional one to integrate with primavera , only oracle project costing and billing module is enough.
    Barathidasan

    Sachin,
Your information is really helpful, If I am not using Project Management then where to do the "Integration Related" Settings in Project Costing module to send data to primavera. Right now we have done Integration Related settings in Project Management module.

  • Project systems integration with portal (EP)

    Dear all,
I have to integrate the projects systems module with Portal.(EP)
In portal transactional I views can be used to create projects which can be store in the R/3.
Now the issue is to create projects with out using Transactional I views. This should be a simple entry through portal, where in the user keys in the key fields and there by the project is created and scheduled.
For this I have tried with using business packages given by SAP to integrate with portal.
Now the issue is I can display the projects that are created in R/3 through portal and display the necessary fileds required for viewing (I views). Now the main problem is to create the project using these business packages so that the same get updated in the R/3.
But business packages do not have the option of creating the project. I am using the business packages for projects 50.3.1
Has any body come across this type of issue which has to be integrated with portal and subsequent creation of projects through portal
If any body has done this in any other way please kindly share on this.
Experts please throw some pointers on this.
    Regards.
    Vara Prasad

    Hi Aman,
You may try creating transaction iViews of the desired PS Transaction.
For more help you can take help of your Portal Administrator.

  • PS Integration with PP with respect to Make to order projects

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement that our customer is having only Make to order projects ,In this aspect Is there any Integration with PP.
    Thanks In Advance.
    Regards
    Madan

    Hi,
Please search the forum there are various threads releated to this topic.
There are various ways doing this.
Attach a finished material to the activity in cj20n and then run MRP .System will create Planned Orders/PRs on the basis of Material type whether the material is meant for internal Production or for prourment.
So in your case after MRP,a planned order will be created and then you convert to a Production Order.
Issue the raw materials to the production order and confirm the operations and a finished product will be produced and then you issue to your project.

  • Primavera P6 integration with Oracle UCM

Hello, is there any documentation on how to integrate primavera with Oracle UCM instead of Apache JackRabbit?
In Primavera P6 documentation there is only one sentence regarding the problem:
Primavera default integration is with Apache JackRabbit content repository.
    Primavera with native JCR support:
    •Oracle Universal Content Management
    •Apache Jackrabbit
    •Content Repository Extreme (CRX)
    •Magnolia
    •Object Web eXo Platform
    •Alfresco Document Management
    •...

After communication with Primavera's team: there is no built in integration in Primavera P6 with UCM through JSR-170.
There are plans to standardize Primavera's content integration with JSR-170 standards in Primavera 7.
For more information you have to contact Primavera's support team.

  • How to work in RH9 when project is integrated with TFS and TFS server is down

My RoboHelp 9 project is integrated with TFS/Visual Studio. The server went down yesterday and won't be back up until late today.
If I open the project locally (rather than from Version Control), how do I eventually get the latest files (those that I've worked on locally) into Version Control?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    I use the following method:
    1.       Open the project and disconnect from source control.
    2.       Modify any files you need. Be aware that when you add/rename/remove/move files, the RoboHelp control files are modified too. (.apj and .fpj)
    3.       When TFS is up, check out the files using team explorer. Do NOT overwrite local files. (Make a backup first.)
    4.       Using TFS, check in all modified files. Do NOT check in the XPJ file. If you do, the project will lose its connection with source control.
    5.       Thrash the local project.
    6.       Get the latest version from the server.
Be aware that this requires that you know what you’re doing. Especially when control files are modified. When you only modify the content of existing topics and check the existing topic in, you should be fine.

    Willam
