Projects need to be updated..what does that mean?

So I have a folder of like 50 FCP7 project files and when I open FCPX it says older projects must be updated and cannot be reopened in FCPX. Does that mean if I hit yes it will automatically update all 50 old project files and if I don't like FCPX I am screwed?

FCP X won't modify FCP7 project files. In fact it won't even open them directly. If you want to try opening them check this out.
You must have at least one FCP X project from a previous version of FCP X that FCP X sees and wants to update. That is what will get updated, not your FCP 7 projects.

My iPad just went blank! There's a message about it needs to be restored - what does that mean?

I went to sync my iPad 2 with iTunes today. It asked me to update the most recent version but then it went blank! It won't turn on at all - help!

If iTunes told you that the iPad needs to be restored, the message seems pretty clear to me. The iPad needs to be restored within iTunes.

If it's a fourth generation or earlier model, you need to download iTunes 10.6.3; the newer versions won't run on 10.5.8.
If it's a fifth generation iPod touch, you need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, which requires an Intel Mac, and then run Software Update. This also works with earlier iPods but isn't the best solution.

You should still have JAVA. Open Safari, then in the top Menu Bar, click on Safari and pull down to Preferences.
Safari> Preferences> Security> and click check the buttons next to Enable JAVA and Enable Javascript.
You might have to restart Safari, I'm not sure about that.

Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install

Ana Candano, what is your Aperture version? Earlier Aperture versions - until Aperture 3.2.4 had colored icons, Aperture 3.3 and later are gray in gray. Do you have two versions of Aperture installed?
When you post back, list your version of MacOS X and the versions of any Aperture.app you can find with Spotlight on your Mac.

IOS 4 do not have Settings>General>Software Update.
You have to connect your iPad to iTune (computer) and Check for Updates.
Backup before you proceed with update.
