ProKit 4.5 Update for Logic Pro 7.2.3

I've just run Software Update, and it is telling me to install the new *ProKit 4.5 update*.
However the info says that it is "+recommended for all users of Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Express, Aperture, Logic Studio and Logic Express+". It doesn't mention *Logic Pro 7* at all.
Should I install or should this not have come up ??
Thanks
R

How can we find out any info from Apple? The info page is ridiculously short of info. As well as not even MENTIONING Logic Pro 7 either way, it gives no info whatsoever as to what the fix does.
It's really not acceptable. Logic Pro was not cheap and it's as if it has been forgotten since releasing the new version.
I've also had lots of problems with Logic since installing Leopard. I hope 10.5.2 fixes things... Wish I had stayed on Tiger...

  • Last update for logic pro 8

What is the last update for logic pro 8 ?

I will add.... Im not seeing this behavour here in 10.0.7 and 10.9.3... so i suspect something else is going on too with your system... but as to what, I cannot say.

  • I have the latest update for Logic Pro, but also have in Applications a previous version of LP 9,02. Can I trash it?

I have the latest update for Logic Pro 9.1.8, but also have in Applications a previous version of LP 9.0.2. Can I trash it? It has the circle with diagonal over the icon.

Yes, you can trash it - presumably the symbol that you can see is showing you that it won't run on your machine, anyway. I usually keep the previous version when I do an update in case of any problem (at least you can test if its the latest version that's responsible) but that doesn't apply here.

  • Is there  any free update for logic pro x version 10.0

Can logic pro X version 10.0 update to 10.1 for free ?
    How please !?

Open the Mac App Store and click on the Updates tab; this is free, but you'll need to be able to log in with the Apple ID used to buy Logic.

  • Are there any Updates for Logic Pro 9 to work with Yosemite?

I updated my iMac to the OS X Yosemite 10.10 and my M-Audio Fast Track board does not work with my Logic Pro 9.
Is there a way or Updates available to make them work together? I work with music and I am LOSING TIME AND MONEY on this...
    Thanks for ANY help

It's not Logic 9 that's the problem, if the M-Audio device is not compatible with Yosemite Core Audio (which I don't believe it is) no version of Logic will be able to use it. Before any upgrade of main applications or operating system one needs to check and see if all related hardware is supported. Hopefully you have a backup of your last working configuration.

  • When will there be an update for Logic Pro X?

So many bugs. Problems with installing. Where does it stop? Does anyone know of a date when it will be updated to correct serious issues? I am resorting to using Reason on my PC.
Maybe they should stop building that huge corporate HQ in Cupertino and focus on perfecting their software.
BTW, their new Iphone OS is crap also.

They should also focus on those pesky forumbugs that are so annoying. I think I am going to switch to http://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/index.php

  • Where to download updates 1-6 for logic pro x

where todownload updates for logic pro 10

    Apple menu.... Software Updates
    or..
Run the Mac App Store Application and go to updates in there...
Note: Make sure your Logic Pro X app is named as such and resides in your Applications Folder... Also, and this has to be said... given you are asking this question when OS X would have normally notified you already about any updates if you have a legal version... If you are using an illegal version, you will not be able to update.

  • Grace period for update to Logic pro 7.2

    Hi all,
I just got my Logic Pro 7.1 today, version which I ordered a few days back. Does anybody know if I have to pay for the update to Logic Pro 7.2 or if there's a grace period? It's very annoying if I have to pay for an update.
    Thanks for any informations

This not for us PPC users or users without Pro tools
Mostly for GARAGEBAND users wanting to switch to PRO
why they call it pro, i don't understand
after $75 Australian dollars and i still have to buy another plug-in to make logic work properly
what kind of morons are sitting behind Emagic seats right now, and if it still the Emagic guys then i feel sorry for you guys
Every other Pro DAW has this feature and it comes with the app with the price you pay, even the applications that don't call their-self pros has it
    GOD !!!
you can't even change a tempo more than 5 bpm up or down without regretting to buy logic
the future of logic doesn't look great after all (i was so happy when apple took over and brought logic 7) it hasn't even that long and all the happiness are turning down after each update and each time i open the application)

  • No Soundtrack Pro or ProApp updates for Logic Studio users?

I attempted to download updates for Soundtrack Pro and the ProApp update but was asked for a Final Cut serial number - - whichm as a Logic Studio owner I do not have. So what's up - - are these updates not signifcant for those who purchased and use Logic Studio? Please advise.

You shouldn't need to go to the download page, just run software update and it should show up. Do any OS and Pro App updates first, the STP upgrade won't show up there until you do.

  • An eligible Logic Pro version was not found in the Applications folder. This update requires Logic Pro version 9.0 or higher.

Get this error when trying to install Logic patch 9.1.4 to my machine.
An eligible Logic Pro version was not found in the Applications folder. This update requires Logic Pro version 9.0 or higher.

Thx, but i had already read that and tried it: did not work.
Got it fixed now by reinstalling Logic Studio 9 from DVD.
That indeed creates the Logic Pro folder in Applications - something I had tried earlier by simply moving my existing Logic folder. This means the Logic 9.1.5 update does not simply check a folder name: there must be another entry/registry entry it checks. Reinstalling Logic Studio from scratch solved it for me.
After reinstalling thought Lion forgot my Focusrite Saffire 40, so no DAW. Solved that by reading a forum entry on beta drivers.
So I am happy, music creation wise.
Left for me is to solve the X Mail application saying it does not run under Lion!

  • I installed Lion OS X and Logic Pro won't run. I downloaded the 9.1.5 update: "An Eligible Logic Pro Version Was Not Found in the Applications Folder.  This Update require Logic Pro Version 9.0 or higher".  I have Logic Pro Version 9.1.1 installed.

I even pulled the dmg file into the Logic Studio folder in my applications directory and it still does not recognize it.  What do I do now?

    Niel:  Thanks.
For others benefit, here is what happened.
I had installed Logic Studio 9.1 some time ago.......not knowing what all the programs were nor what they did, I created a "Logic Studio" subfolder in my applications folder and put all Logic Studio programs into it so I'd know where they were and could review each at my leisure over time.
My assumption now is that when the updater looks for the Logic Pro program, it looks only in the applications folder.  It seems lame that it would not also look in the subfolders of the applications folder, but that apparently IS the way it works.  Because my Logic Pro program was located in the "Logic Studio" subfolder, the updater just didn't see it..hence the error message I received when I tried to update.
Solution:  I moved all the Logic Studio programs out of the subfolder and now they reside in the applications folder. Ran the 9.1.5 updater and it worked like a charm.

  • Download link error for Logic Pro 9.0.1

Anyone else have this problem? When I navigate to the right page for Logic Pro update 9.0.1 and click download, the file that actually gets transferred is for Logic Express. The Pro update is 183 mb and express is something more like 135 mb. In my download manager I can see that it is the Express package which has been downloaded.

  • Best hard drive setup for Logic Pro?..

    Hi all,
I'm about to get a Mac Pro, and I was wondering a bit about the best hard drive set up for running Logic Pro.
    1. Should I go with Western Digital Caviar SE ? Noise is a primary issue, I'd like them to be as silent as possible. Could anybody tell me their experiences with this disc?.. I also hear that Samsungs Spinpoint are almost silent. Any truth to this? (I want my discs in sizes of 500Gb.)
    2. Is this a good setup:
    D1: Mac OS, Logic Pro
    D2: Audio for Logic Pro
D3: Sample libraries, including direct from disc streaming.
    3. I seem to remember from another post that someone wrote that raiding discs could actually decrease performance when working with audio. Is this the case?
    Thanks,
    Curvebender.

Yes, excellent way to go. One suggestion: on your sample or audio drive, or an external FW, install a basic system + Logic app only. This enables you to have another system to boot from in case of trouble, or you can use it as a test bed for future updates etc. without affecting your primary system. You'd only boot into this drive in case of problems or for testing. I currently have Leopard running on one drive to test it out as I don't want to move to 10.5.x yet.

  • Update to Logic pro

    Hi,
I'am an Logic Express 8 user and I'am thinking about updating to logic pro 8.
Can I find anywhere a complete instrument group list with the instruments.
The other possiblity is for me to buy instrument samples, the main instruments I want are woodwind and brass.
    Thanks.

I will agree, the main features Logic Pro has over the Express is the convolution reverb, some virtual instruments, and I think better working with video as well as surround mixing- this will make it more clear:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic_Express
And that is just the difference between Express and Pro, it makes no mention of the other applications bundled with Logic Studio, of which Waveburner for mastering is the favorite of mine. And of course, no loops.
The point is, it would be possible to add everything the Logic Express lacks by going the third party route, but Studio is a much more economical way of adding it all. I don't see how anyone can be without convolution reverb for instance, and just buying Altiverb or something will set you back $500 anyway. But then again, Altiverb is probably better than Space Designer... so you see the dilemma.
I would recommend spending more time knowing what your needs are, and are going to be... if you want better sounding virtual instruments and that is all, then by all means stick with Logic Express and add those as you go. I'm trying out this demo, and loving it:

    Great brass there.
But if you think your needs might change, then by all means get the Studio package, it rocks, and it's good for mastering and surround mixing, if you think you'll get into those areas ever. The upgrade from Express to Studio, for what it offers, really isn't a lot of money- if you even think you'll be wanting the stuff in there at some point then I'd go for it.

  • How to obtain dmg for logic pro 9

    Hi
I have a volume licence agreement for Logic Pro 9 that was purchased March 2012.
When installing Logic Pro 9 on our iMac's we did so from the App Store. We have recently purchased some more iMac's and want to install Logic Pro 9 but do not have an installation disk / dmg file. I have checked the App Store but cannot see anything for Logic Pro 9, is it possible to download this?
I should say that the new iMac's have been updated to OS X Mavericks 10.9.1!
    Regards
    David

I thought that was where i would end up going :-)
    Thank you for your reply.
