  • U330 Windows 7 Drivers Not Working

    Hello,
I have recently been in the process of updating all of my drivers on my u330-2267EU to the latest Windows 7 versions. I had been waiting for this update to the drivers site for some time since I was able to get Windows 7 installed before the Oct 22nd release. I am running Windows 7 64bit and I am running into some trouble with these newest drivers not working correctly.
u330 Driver Download Site (Using Win 7 64bit Versions): http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=16
Switchable Graphics: there are 2 new Windows 7 drivers related to video that I downloaded. One referring to the discrete ATI graphics card, and the other to the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator. After installing both of these, setting BIOS for Switchable Graphics, and running the Switchable Graphics program from the desktop after bootup, brings up the desired menu with the option to switch from power saving gpu to the high performance gpu. When I click the "high performance gpu" button, the screen flickers and fades to black momentarily as it should, but when the screen returns and after waiting for a few minutes no switch is made, it just stays in the powersaving gpu. Suggestions?
Power Management Software: I also downloaded Lenovo's Energy Management Windows 7 driver for the u330. After installing the software I was initially able to bring up the menu to change power options, but the options that I chose would not make any apparent changes. Actually, after installing the program, it made my screen incapable of changing its brightness using the "function + arrow" button combination. Also, no longer when i change my default power windows power options will it adjust my screen brightness. It just stays the same no matter what. The only way that I can now change the brightness of my screen is by going into the graphics settings of the Intel GMA and change the settings there, but that is a completely horrible way of having to do that.
So there you have it, after all this waiting I still dont have the ability to utilize the switchable graphics nor properly use the Lenovo Power Management software. Oh yea, and I still cant adjust the brightness of my screen. I have re-downloaded and re-installed these drivers many times to try to get them to work correctly, but so far no luck.
I would greatly appreciate any help on the subject or at least have the knowledge that someone at Lenovo has noticed these problems and a fix is coming soon
    thanks!

  • Amd video drivers not working after win 10 upgrade

AMD video drivers not working after win 10 install. running on microsoft basic driver, call hp smartfriend assistance. appearently there is a fix but hp will not help unless i pay 100.00$ US because the warranty has expired on my notebook.Have a pavilion dv7 was running AMD Mobility Radeon HD5000 series. Thank you hp will not be purchasing an hp product again.  Alienware here i come.

Not much we can do since your model is not supported by Toshiba for Win 10 upgrade according to THIS list so there is no Win 10 driver for your TouchPad. That button, however, is not the only way to disable/enable the TouchPad.  FN+F9 does it and you can fix it where, when you plug in an external mouse, it will automatically be disabled.

  • Boot Camp Vista Sound Not Working

Hi, I am using Boot Camp 3.1 with drivers installed from
Mac OS X Snow Leopard DVD & Apple Software Update.
I am booting to Windows Vista Home Premium on my
MacBook late '09 with upgraded 4gig ram, and Mac OS X 10.6.2.
However, my sound driver is not working on my Windows Vista,
the system tray icon shows a Red X on audio settings.
On Control Panel -> Device Manager, it shows a Yellow Exclaimation Mark
on sound driver Cirrus Logic CS4602 (AB 01).
I have tried reinstalling Realtek and Cirrus drivers from Mac OS X Install DVD,
and downloading the latest HD Audio Driver from realtek website,
    but nothing works.
It was working fine a while ago until I installed many Boot Camp updates
and windows vista updates. I don't know what caused the problem.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advanced.

I'm having the exact same problem!!! When is apple going to fix the drivers???!!!

  • Cirrus Logic CS4206A (AB 11) in 15" macbook pro i7 on Vista x64 not working

I am trying to get the audio working on my brand new macbook pro 15" i7 on Vista x64. It says the chip is Cirrus Logic CS4206A (AB 11) but there are no drivers available on the internet. I'm using the BootCamp 3.1 that came with the MBP's Snow Leopard 10.6.3 install dvd.
    Currently Vista says
Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)
    Thanks!

I solved this on my laptop just now, but not quite sure how.
I uninstalled the driver, and clicked the checkbox when uninstalling the driver to delete the files.
Then, after rebooting, it worked. I suspect it worked because I had earlier installed other drivers, which it then defaulted to. I installed the realtek audio drivers off the Mac OS X cd, but I suspect that wasn't it.
I installed cirrus logic drivers from here:
    http://www.cirrus.com/en/support/lic/lic3.html?uri=/en/pubs/software/CS4207WinVista_Win7_32-64-bit6-6001-1-21.zip
Or maybe it was the vista drivers I got from:
    http://www.stuffedcow.net/macbook_audio
Or maybe these two sources drivers' are the same - and I did just get it from the cirrus site
If you get it working, I recommend you reply here and state exactly what it was that got it working for you. Just make sure to uninstall the driver and in doing so delete the files too (there's a checkbox in vista). This way it will default to what appears to be older drivers if/when you install those.

  • MBP with Vista - AUDIO NOT WORKING

I installed Windows Vista Beta 2 via Bootcamp but the audio is not working. Is anyone else having this problem? Anyone know of a fix? I'd be much abliged for any help.

why would apple look into 'working the kinks out in its system'?? boot camp is completely unsupported by apple.. and probably never will be supported cause apple isn't going to support microsoft products just like ms won't support mac products.... more than likely the reason the op has probs with audio in vista is because vista is beta and doesn't have properly supported audio drivers.... and isn't vista supposed to be 64bit?? i'm sick of both apple and ms avoiding the solid 64bit os issue... i have 64bit linux running great.... it's time for the rest of the world to catch up...

Hello again samyak.  You are very welcome!
The first device (the virtual adapter) is virtual network which allows you to use the computer as a "software router."  Unless you're using this PC as an Access Point this device is useless to you.  This article has more information on the service.  Your best bet is to just disable it.  Try the following.
Click Start, go to "All Programs," and select "Accessories."
Right click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator."
Type the command "netsh wlan set hostednetwork [mode=disallow] and press Enter.  This should disable the virtual adapter.
Exit Command Prompt, reboot the computer, and verify that the device is no longer listed.
The device with the "ACPI/HPQ0004" ID actually returned two results.  The first was the Quick Launch Button software.  The other was related to Hard Drive Protection.  Try this driver.
Make sure to reboot after all of these instructions have been completed.  Then go back to Device Manager and verify whether everything looks as it should.
Continue to have a great day!
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"

  • Sound & Graphics Drivers not working for Qosmio F15R

I was granted this Laptop with nothing more than AC Adapter. I didn't need the information contained in it and didn't want to deal with its configuration issues either, so I started planning formatting it. Looking for model number label at the bottom found it says "Qosmio F15R". I couldn't found this model number at support website for drivers, closest model was F-15AV201, figured it out by watching its pictures in detailed specs documentation. Everything but Bluetooth seemed to be available, so I formatted and reinstalled Windows XP Pro SP3 and then downloaded all drivers. Touchpad, Ethernet, Wireless, Flash memory, TV-FM and DVD-RAM worked just fine. On the other hand Sound, Display and Modem didn't work at all.
While installing Sound driver I got this error message:
    http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/5075/sounddriver.png
(it says: "couldn't find driver, reboot and reinstall")
After installing Display driver checked display adapter properties and found this:
    http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/5171/vga.png
(no information available and even scrolling on web browser is crappy)
After installing Modem driver realized it was not identified:
    http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/4613/devicemanager.png
    (Sound, Display, unknown device, Modem)
I thought I was using drivers for wrong model, so I downloaded PC Wizard, a freeware that identifies hardware configuration:
    http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/6452/pcwizard.png
wich gave me chipset, processor, video card and-
    http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/4121/soundr.png
    -sound card: 82801FB ICH6 AC'97.
I couldn't find any proper driver nor for sound nor display, so I tried a shareware, Everest:
    http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/6199/everesth.png
wich showed me the same chipset, video card and sound card model numbers than PC Wizard.
I realized that chipset, and display model didn't match detailed specs documentation. I thought that hardware was not working properly, so I downloaded and installed a Linux distro (Kubuntu 9.10 RC i386), and fount out that display and sound were working just fine but I need it to work properly with Windows XP.
Can anyone tell me where can I get sound and display drivers (and even Bluetooth if possible) for this laptop? Thanks in advance. Regards.

I have the same problem with audio driver. I can send you the graphic driver that works with Qosmio F15R if you need. My email: [email protected] Toshiba is so bad in supporting with their products.

  • 2011 MBP with Win7 on BC and numerous drivers not working

I'm working on a tech project and have run into a problem that i can't fix. <grr> I followed the Apple directions for installing a second OS on Boot Camp and found some good tips from other online walk throughs, but am still having a problem with a number of the drivers.
I have a 2011 MacBook Pro 13" with the most up to date version of Snow Leopard. I have installed Boot Camp and Windows 7 Pro on a 50 Gb partition. I have installed Windows 7 and activated it. Once Win7 was up and running I updated the Boot Camp drivers with 3.2.0, the latest version that I know about. Initially I had no recognition of either the wired or wireless controllers even after the Boot Camp 3.2. I was able to determine that I had a Broadcom wired ethernet card and found the driver and installed it via USB so that I could use Win7 to access the internet.
The drivers that, as found from the Device Manager, are not working are as follows:
    Network Controller - Wireless
    PCI Simple Communication Controller
    SM Bus Controller
    High Definition Audio
Apple Keyboard -> Bluetooth USB Host Controller (though the USB ports are active and operational)
Facetime HD Camera (1 of 2 not working)
I have been able to use the wired internet to download and install all of the available Win7 updates, but nothing can be found on the above drivers. I even manually installed the drivers for each of these components from the Snow Leopard disk for Boot Camp and they would not install.
From all the information that I can find on the Win7 Boot Camp install, nothing more recent than early 2010, everyone seems to have everything just install and work. I have not seen anything from anyone about the wireless and wired network cards not working or any of the other issues that I'm having. The majority of the issues were with the optical audio LED staying on or some other more trivial issue.
Anything you can suggest would be great so that I can use the internet in Win7. The rest of the drivers are second to getting on wireless.
Thanks in advance for your help. If you have any more detailed questions please let me know and I'll get answers back.

I have a 15" MacBook Pro, built July 2011. It came automatically with Lion. No OS X disc provided in box with Lion, due to it being a download only OS.
I followed the boot camp process to partition the hard drive and format the appropriate partition, to then install Windows 7 Pro Upgrade (clean install - works fine). Just like the original post, the following drivers that will not install properly include:
    - trackpad
    - keyboard
Even when trying to re-install the drivers again manually off the boot camp disc, a window pops up to stating that the drivers may not have installed properly and gives you the options to either re-install the drivers 'using the compatability settings', or 'no the drivers installed ok'.
It's almost like it thinks Windows 7 is an old program....weird.
The keyboard and trackpad is missing from the Boot Camp control panel, so I can't change the settings for the keyboard and trackpad, to get them functioning the way they're meant to - like it does in Mac OS X.
I thought that this page would help: http://www.reviewmylife.co.uk/blog/2010/06/08/windows-7-on-macbook-pro/ but no it didn't. The boot camp control panel screen dumps shown in this link, looks nothing like mine, due to the fact that the drivers refuse to install properly.
I have spent hours trawling many mac and windows forums with not luck.
Anyone with a MBP running Lion OS and Windows 7 Pro have these issues?
    Does anyone have a solution?

  • Realtek AC97 Audio Drivers Not Working!

    Hi.
I recently had a HD crash and I was forced to format it. I installed everything just as the first time, and everything worked fine except the audio drivers. The problem is, it does actually install the drivers, but when I look at Sound Options or Device Manager there are no drivers for the soundcard. It says installation is complete and then I restart the computer, and when I try to update with MSI Live Monitor 3, it says I got the latest drivers installed. STILL doesnt work.
Does anyone have a hint about the problem? Any virus? On another note Norton discovered viruses on my computer, even though I had installed the antivirus-software before connecting to internet\network. This is what it found:
    W32.Randex.gen - msconfg.exe
    W32.Spybot.Worm - vsmon.exe
    And some adware.
In virus description it says the viruses can come with programs but I have only installed a few programs, and it says it will spread through IRC. I have 2 other computers in my network, but I dont know if they have anything to do about it. The program will not work correctly whitch is infected with this virus, so maybe there is a chance Live Monitor got it and somehow cant get the sound working... probably not, but this is all i can give.
Tried to reformat another time but still same problem... motherboard broken??

    Quote
    motherboard broken??
Possibly. One way to try is see if it works fine with different os'es. If you can download knoppix's latest version (which I hope supports the onboard audio, like my new fedora linux does) and try it, then you can find out if the sound works or not.
Knoppix is a kind of special linux that you don't have to install, it just runs off of a cd.
On another note, I find that if I run live update, or open live monitor and search for new drivers, my sound is cut off whether I update or not till the next reboot.

  • Presario R4000 Laptop Audio Drivers not working

So, I've got this older Laptop, the Compaq Presario R4000.
It was giving me a really hard time with software with the original OS and stuff, so I decided to format it and install my own Windows XP Professional on it, as opposed to the Compaq-ware filled XP Home that was already on it.
So I formatted, installed Windows, and found the driver page for it.
I Flashed the BIOS despite the fact that I don't think it was necessary, but I wasn't sure.
I installed the graphics drivers no problem.
Installed the wireless device drivers, though not sure if these are working, but it's not significant.
What is significant however, is that the Audio Drivers provided on the site do not work at all. I looked for other drivers, looked for other driver versions for the OSs and various other Presario models, but nothing has worked.
I don't know what the problem is. I'm really hoping someone is able to help!
    Thanks in advance.
    Error Message:
BTW, I should mention what the error message I'm getting is.
A command window pops up running the following command:
    c:\swsetup\SP29873>start /min \swsetup\audio\setup.exe /s
I tried fiddling with the batch file that was running these commands to see if that would help, but it doesn't.
Still always get the same error message:
"Windows cannot find '\swsetup\audio\setup.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

I have the same error message, have you figured it out yet? If yes, please tell me what you did <text deleted> Thanks

  • OpenAL Vista playback not working, WinXP is fine

I've written some code using OpenAL to do regular audio playback and streaming playback. The only real difference between the two methods is how I setup the buffer:
    alSourceQueueBuffers(m_uiSourceID, iNumBuffersQueued, &m_auiBuffer[0]); //for streaming
    alSourcei( m_uiSourceID, AL_BUFFER, uiBufferID); //for regular playback
My audio is saved in Ogg Vorbis file format and everything works fine under WinXP. When I try my program on a Vista machine the streaming audio plays back but the non-streaming audio does not! No error messages either!
Now here is the kicker, I converted the audio files to the WAV format and re-ran the exact same code. Now the audo plays back fine under Vista!
Can anyone suggest what might be going wrong with the Ogg Vorbis audio files Why will they stream on Vista but not playback if I use alSourcei to setup the buffer in Vista

I have stripped down my program to a 50 lines of code to isolate the problem and here is what I am left with. You can download all the code for VS2005 from my website: http://www.marek-knows.com/Misc/testAudio.rar
On WinXP the program runs and plays the sound properly. On Vista I get no error messages but when I go to play the sound I get nothing coming out of the speakers and the program gets stuck in the last while loop. OpenAL says that file is playing but it isn't and it never exits the loop.
Does anyone know how I can fix this
