Prometric ID's

Okay, I'm a littlebitt confused now. I created an account at IBT oracle.prometric.com, the system generated a PR074... Prometric ID and I did the online 1Z0-007 Oracle 9i SQL exam. A few days later I created an account at www.prometric.com to schedule a proctored 1Z0-147 Oracle 9i PL/SQL exam at a test center. Upon creation I filled in my previous received PR074... ID which I received with my first (online) exam.
I now scheduled the 1Z0-147 exam and in the confirmation mail for that exam they are talking about a Prometric ID SR317...
I also checked my personal information at www.prometric.com and there also I find as testing ID SR317... and not PR047...
Why do they ask an existing prometric id if they generate a new one? Or is my PR074... id behind the screens linked to that SR317... id?
Or do I have 2 prometric ID's now?
This is the first time I do a test at a test center. Do I still have to give or fill in a prometric ID at the test center? And what ID do have to give, the PR074... or the SR317... ID?
Could anyone give some information about this? I have to do my 1Z0-147 exam tomorrow and I wouldn't like that my certification gets messed up by that...
An online Oracle 9i SQL exams is also valid for a PL/SQL developer OCA certificate?
I find this very confusing...

For those that may benefit from this postings I will once again describe the original problem posted at the top of the thread, since I, and the original poster of the thread, are now being accused of being stupid enough to use two different IDs willingly and then complain about it (!).
A candidate registered for an Oracle online exam and got a Prometric ID starting with PR. The candidate then registered for another Oracle exam but this time at a test center (some exams are not offered online... most of them) and when the candidate registered for the test center exam he/she ENTERED the Prometric ID given at the online exam (remember the one starting with PR). Then the candidate realized that his Prometric ID had been replaced by a new one, this time starting with SR.
That is exactly what happened to me. Just as the original poster described it. He/she did exactly what he was told, and like me was paying attention to what he/she was doing, hence this thread where the candidate explains why he/she is worried.
I spoke with Prometric over the phone and also got an email confirmation that the IDs cannot be merged. I never trusted that and wrote to Oracle for confirmation. I have written back to Prometric asking for a resolution to my problem. I am now waiting to see what will happen and keep this thread updated accordingly.
It is very clear that Prometric does NOT allow you to book a test center exam with an online ID. I was told that by a Prometric representative, albeit too late in the process to do anything about it. So obviously, anyone that tries to take an Oracle test online and then use the same ID for a test center exam will encounter the same problems and be dragged into this confusion.
Hans, if you have nothing useful to contribute to this thread, take your custom somewhere else. If still you want to have your say, make sure you read what other people wrote about the problem first, then take some time to ponder what the situation really is, before you place the blame on the people that are obvious the victims of the process.
For a Canadian, you are quite rude, mate...

  • Problem with prometric ID

Hi all, please i need help.....
last june i register and took my first oracle exam(1z0-042) at one of the prometrics testing site. and last weekend i took my second exam (1z0-007) but after finishing my exam i realised that instead of my correct prometrics testing ID i used the registration number of my first exam(1z0-042)... real bad... NOW the headaches , i send mails ,made calls to oracle university and prometrics... noone seems to care about ,nobody knows what to do? i send them print screen of all info I have, credit card been charged for the exam, with teh wrong prometrics testing ID, print of my result and so on.
please please can some one please tell me what to do from now...? how come they can't link both exams? i used all the emails I know('[email protected]';'[email protected]')......I even got an answer from ip.helpdesk... saying that they can't change my prometric Id for the correct one ! kind of amazing,if they can't ?who can? . thanks in advance .. SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I mean on the oracle.prometric.com it's possible to make change of all the others info, name, firstname, adress, login, pass and so on... the only things a test taker can't do is update the prometric testing ID, if that service iphelp..... can't do nothing who can?....... and over the phone, no one can't see that test i did thsi weekend because to locate me on the system, they need a prometric id, and the wrong id is too short for them to find me...!!!!!!!!!!! I think this is just a sample on how dataentry verification is not done properly...!!! shame for he person who program that interface..... I mean this is oracle.prometric.... not testsomething.com..................so rry to be a little bit upset, but i think everyone can make a mistake, thefore the system should have prompt me the verify that prometric test Id (or at least would have told me that my prometric Id is too short).......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It is important to follow the procedure on the Oracle FAQ exactly. That means exactly. clearly.
When I go to the page given on the Oracle FAQ it has a form but it does not specify an email address on the form.
It is important to allow some time for this procedure to work, this may be a manual process or manually verified process and most sensible people are taking a vacation at present!
If you have PRECISELY followed the procedure and allowed a reasonable time for a response then use [www.oracle.com/education/certification] support/contact-us indicating HOW and WHEN you followed followed the support FQA procedure and how the anticipated result has not occurred.

  • Problem with Prometric exam center

    Hi,
I would like to find out where can I get help if I face problem with Prometric exam.
I had registered with Prometric for exam 70-647 on 16-Sep at 10:00AM.
On 16-Sep, I reach the exam venue and was inform that the exam venue was close.
I had wasted 7 hours on that day (2 hours travel from my home to exam venue, waited at exam venue for 3 hours and take another 2 hours to return home) and didn't manage to sit for exam. I keep calling exam venue phone number on that day and no one is answering
    the call.
Upon return home, I submit a complaint to Prometric using the form on their website.
Prometric only reply me with an email 2 days later asking me to call their candidate care number.
I call Prometric candidate care and spend 10 minutes to explain to them my problem as if they never receive my complaint. Prometric told me their system show that the exam venue is not close on that day and I have to call the exam venue to re-schedule the exam.
I then call the exam venue and was inform that I need to call Prometric to re-schedule the exam for me. They say their system does not show that I had register for the exam on 16-Sep. I had explain to exam venue that it was Prometric who ask me to call them
to re-register. They told me they will call Prometric on this issue and get back to me.
After one day without return call from either exam venue or Prometric, I decided to call Prometric again. I then have to spend time to explain to them the problem that I face from beginning (I can't understand why a large organisation like Prometric don't keep
a log of customer feedback/complaint and expect customer keep explaining to them whenever customer call back). Prometric then told me they never receive any update from exam venue that they were close on 16-Sep and expect me to keep calling exam venue to get
them update Prometric that they were close on that day. The guy from Prometric candidate care refuse to take ownership of this problem to call the exam venue to find out whether it was close on exam date.
I then call the exam venue again and was inform that Prometric's number is busy whenever they trying to call them. They told me they can't help me to re-register for exam, only Prometric can help me to re-register for exam.
It seems like none of Prometric Candidate care or exam venue want to take ownership of this problem.
Please advice who can assist me with this issue?

Myself Snehalkumar, 30 Jan 2014, I scheduled to have an exam on 23 March April2014. I went 1 Hour Before at Site Location Which Is above.
At Site location, No one is there except security. I called on above site location number no one picked up the phone. I got the number from security 919879261687 that person (Sajesh Thomas) was managed/arranged at there. I talked with him and he replied me
that there is no more Prometric center here its only for L&T employees.
He gave me another number 09313978791 and said that talked to him, he is regional head  of Promatric I think his name is Utkarsh Pande.
I cleared state him what i can do now? I came faraway (90kms) from here for attending an exam. He asked me what exam it is? I said 74-409. He said that its free exam so reschedule it. What about my time and petrol to come from 90 km?
I was very frustrated to listen this kind of answer. I am very disappointed and I said that i will complaint to Microsoft and Promatric center. He answered that go for the complaint. Just because he is  regional Manger so he is careless to manage/arrange
    and give me pathetic answer.
And give me another number and that was call center number 01244517160. He said that called tomorrow at call center. This is just one center of Promatric center that comes under him . How about other center? Same thing happen at other center which comes under
    him.
And L&T person (At site location) said that talked to regional head of Promatric Center. If regional head give me this kind of answer, Where should i go. I was waiting for long time and think what to do next? At some stage i was very depress.
I wasted time and money and went back to home 90kms without appearing an exam just because some irresponsible person forgot to arranged an Exam.
If  there is no more Promatric center at this site than Why they did not contact to let me know  that there  is no longer Promatric center? even day before, if they send me a mail or make a call its ok for me. but that did not happen.
Why on Promatric schedule list to see this site location if no more Promatric center. If its for L&T employees only than please specified that for only L&T employees or remove it from the schedule list so no one will have problem like i had.
I logged into Promatric Center website. I click on rescheduling an exam but that filed was empty so  no way to reschedule it.
Now you tell me what should i do after facing this problem?

  • Prometric Id re-incarnation on CertView registration Webpage:

If I understand correctly, as accessed at about the time of this post, the page [https://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/ocp_interface.prometric_reg] wert certview registrations almost surprisingly mentions Prometric Id:
    Prometric ID*
    Full name (first & last)*
    Email address*
    City*I would of thought:
    (1) It should actually reference Oracle Testing Id instead of Prometric Id. (with a reference to say both are the same).
    (2) I wonder my the page has prometric in its title.
I may be talking rubbish - I am having a non recyclable dustcart (trashcart) sort of journey experience today.

Edited by: bigdelboy on 30-Sep-2009 00:59 (It is possilble that the part of the page containing this form is only visible when one is not registered for certview; accessed at time of edit).

    jpatokal,
It is my understanding that when you create your web account with Pearson VUE, you will be assigned an OCXXXX ID, but if you entered your Oracle ID (prometric ID) when you created your web account, you will continue using this ID.
    1. Did you enter your Oracle Testing ID (aka Prometric ID) when you created your web account?
    2. Have you verified your ID with Pearson? Go to www.pearsonvue.com/oracle and select "My Account">Sign in>you will see your Oracle Candidate ID at the top of the page. If you entered your Oracle testing ID at the time you created your web account, this should be your Prometric ID - PRXXXXXX or SPXXXXXXX. Check this first.
    3. If you did not enter your Oracle Testing ID (prometric ID) when creating your web account on pearsonvue.com, then you currently have 2 ids and will need to get them merged. You can contact [email protected] to get them merged.
There are 2 possible reasons that I can think of that CertView account was verified under your Oracle Tesing ID (Prometric ID):
    1. You entered your Oracle Testing ID (Prometric ID) when you created your Pearson VUE web account and this is your correct ID.
    2. You did not enter your Oracle Testing ID (Prometric ID) when you created your Pearson VUE web account and your past certifications are still in CertView under your old Oracle Testing ID (Prometric ID) until you have your IDs merged.
Please check your account to see what ID shows up on your Pearson VUE account.
    Thanks,
    Brandye

  • Difference between Oracle Testing Center and Prometric?

what is the Difference between Oracle Testing Center and Prometric?

Notes for an Oracle Testing Center are here:
The cancellation policies are possibly harder than a Standard Testing Center Vendor.
I would suggest that Oracle Testing Centers possilbly offer exams more on an event or batch basis; (Oracle Openworld is an example; though thats not what one would think of as an Oracle Test Center).
In general I suspect most people will find it just as easy to take the exam through a prometric(or new testing vendor) center. and there will often typically be more slots available. And the testing center will be typically be examing for other testing suppliers, perhaps mosting microsoft and cisco, but there's a mryiad of others out there as well. So the'll probably be well set up for it.
Here in the UK (south) we have a fairly (very) dense population. I've used 4 centers myself:
One 5 miles from me, a college, thats dual Pearson VUE/Prometric; though there only offering Pearson VUE at present until they moved to a bigger suite, with 4 stations. Nice and friendly. 5 days week.
One 25 miles from me, a training center, that offer dual Pearson VUE/Prometric; 4/8 stations; very friendly, cup of coffe offered; I usually go by Puff Puff to this one.
One 10 miles from me, maybe a 12 workstation suite, they offer usually prometric (but not oracle) on one a week. Felt Conveyor like compared to other two above; but very friendly and efficient.
One 35 miles from me, Prometric only including oracle only, maybe a 12 workstation suite, CRT's, and not necessarily of the best quality. This one really felt conveyor like to me, though staff were friendly. This is effectively a drive for me. Also whereas the others I've usd sit one down to sign the forms in a room this one was done at building reception.
The city center ones can sometimes be a little noisy and earplugs are recommended, though the one city center one I've used has provided them others don't have to.
In general from once I used a particular center I feel more comfortable; I'll know exactly where it is; where I have have a quick cup of coffee (with sugar) beforehand going over notes. This all helps me to be a little less anxious before the exam. When I get that prepartion wrong, and I certainly did once, if probably cost me maybe 2/3/4 %.
Getting to know your local test center and routine is one reason why I encourage people to take 1z0-007 and 1z0-051 proctored so they know the procedure and get to know a local Promteric etc Test Center before taking a more advanced and expensive exam.
    Rgds -bigdelboy.
PS: I expect comments from some people who live 100 (+) miles from a test center and have no alternative choice. And those in some places will probably say they feel they are treated like cattle by the test center.

    1) Are you able to able login to the prometric site?
I dont think your prometric id is in candidate history (only 10 months kept) but it may be on something els (eg profile). But the sites handling that badly at present who knows what.
    2) You may try contacting Prometric.
Its important to do these things as quickly as possible ... as Prometric will wash their hands post 25 september.
    Thanks
SwamiIf its any consolatation IMHO you wont be the only person wiht this query ... Hopefully Oracle Certification Team will put a procedure in FAQ.

Just to confirm as the Prometic site has behaved a bit better for me that [https://www.register.prometric.com/ChangeProfile.asp] should show your Prometric Id. As your login can be associated with mutiple Test suppliers i suppose it may not be deleted following the Oracle Transition, but if you have only tested with Oracle then I suspect there is a chance it will be removed.

  • Took OCP two years ago, cant locate my Prometric ID

    Hi.
I understand that I need to enter my old Prometric ID in order to link to the Pearson VUE. (I need to take new 11g exam next week).
I do not have my Prometric ID. How can I find this? I have tried the Prometric site, but I cant find anywhere regarding "my account".
I need to do the exam next week, so bit of a rush!
    Thanks

Ok OK: I have located the Prometric ID and I can see that the same ID exists on the PearsonVUE. Does this mean that I have nothing left to do before I book my 11g exam?

I enter the details as required but I am being told that the information is not valid.
This is quite urgent as my exam is on Monday. Any ideas please?
Edited by: user11981168 on 15-Jan-2010 03:16I have looked at you two posts. I am concerned in your urgency that some thingsare not clear:
    1) I assume you are certain you have located our Prometric Id that you used to take your previous exams.
-- This will be your Oracle Testing Id.
-- dont tell me your Id (this is NOT ALLOWED) ... but explain HOW you found it. (not what its value it).
    2) From your posts you say your exam is monday .... but you have not booked it.
-- I assume you mean you are desperately planning to take the exam monday for a good reason.
-- (there are bad reasons why people are in a rush to take it, but I assume this isn't the case with you).
    3) If you can see on Pearson VUE what your Oracle Testing Id is then you have logged into Pearson VUE. Or have I misunderstood you.
    - Are you getting confused between Pearson VUE and Certview ?
    - Are you getting confused between Prometric and Pearson VUE.
    4) This is the key point:
    - I assume you are having trouble registering with Pearson VUE:
    - You'll be going through an URL something like:
    [http://www.vue.com/oracle/capva/] ( Home > Test Taker Services > Oracle > Create a Web Account)
    - You will be choosing a Proctored exam and you will have a panel something like:
    Previous Testing History
    Please provide the following information.
    *     Have you tested with Oracle Certification Program before?
No, this will be my first time testing with Oracle Certification Program.
Yes, I have tested with Oracle Certification Program before.
Enter your Oracle Testing ID, if available:  [XXXXXXXXXXXXX]And you will be putting in your old Prometric Id as your Oracle Testing Id: (XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX)
..... After you have done this there is a delay while this is verified.
    5) If you register with Person VUE and for whatever reason get allocated a different Oracle Testing Id. from which you have taken previous exams needed for your Certification you will not acheie Certification and risk action if you misrespresent yourself as certified before this is done.
    Multiple Testing Id.s are a pain to resolved : {thread:id=1003657}
    6) In the final analysis only Pearson can help you with this short term if you have a problem registering with them.

Edited by: schiestl on 06.07.2010 23:40Buy sufficent Prometric shares and sell at a cut price to Pearson.
    More Seriously.
History for exams taken at Prometric will remain with Prometric.
History for exams taken at Pearson will remain at Pearson.
However for Oracle Exams exam and certification history for both is held on certview which is a viewport to the Oracle Certification Database.

    Certview should satisfy your needs.

  • Movement to Pearson VUE and certview from Prometric and Certmanager

This isnt so much a question as a comment ....
But I'm sometimes happy to award points.
(FYI I normally answers questions on {forum:id=459} ... and I might not revist here for a bit )
Oracle are (have?) moving to using the Pearson VUE testing vendor and using Certview rather than Cert manager as the certification reporting database:

    Hi,
I got OCP certification in the past in Oracle8, Oracle9i and Oracle10g with Sylvan Prometric. One month ago I registered at certview Oracle site and Pearson VUE site, believing finding my history exams and certification Status. But it has not been so.
Then, i decided to log a SR, SR Number=23552675 asking for help and information about my issue, but till now i did not receive any answer.
I do not know why my OCP data are not present on certview site.
In the next future, i would like also take the Oracle11g upgrade exam and i do not know which ID i will have to use, Sylvan ID, Pearson VUE ID???
    Any usefull help is appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards
Simone MartucciYou need to take all exams under the same Oracle Testing Id, otherwise it is as if you tokk the exams under different people.
Ideally this would have been sortd when you registered at Peason.

  • Status in Prometric Website under candidate history showing "Pending".

    Hi
I taken my 70-486 (Microsoft mvc 4.0) exam in prometric center on 5/17/2014 and passed with 940/1000 and they given printed mark sheet but in prometric  website under candidate history  status column showing "Pending" instead of pass. I
used Microsoft "3 for 1 voucher" so to write my 2nd exam i need status to be update to "Passed". I have just 13 days time . the vouchers ends on may 31st and i need to write 2 more exam. I have no idea what to do. Please guide me.

    Hi,
First, congratulations on passing the 70-486 exam. It is a tough exam. If this is your first Microsoft exam, it can take a little bit of time for Microsoft to build an account for you.
If this is not the first exam, it generally takes 24-48 hours for the records on Prometric to update. Check again today to see if it has changed.

  • Migration from Prometric to PearsonVue

    Hi,
I received an email to create a new account on PearsonVue with a new Oracle Testing ID, even though I have an existing pearson vue account as it seems I cannot add two Oracle Testing Programs under the same pearson account.
The new account still doesn't show the certification history from the old SUN account. Also, there is no way to update this new ID in the certview account...
I'm hoping all this will fall into place and sync up eventually.
Now, to take an upgrade exam that is now available at PearsonVue, which ID should I use - the regular one that I use for Oracle exams or the new one I was given just to migrate my old SUN history?
    Thanks,
    Jang Vijay Singh

    Jang Vijay SinghYour a little bit in the situation of Dylan described here: {thread:id=2220819}
.... You will probably / possibly have to request a merge ( http://www.pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge/ ) .....but I'd wait a little to get advice from the Certification forum moderator if she would be so good as to answer.
You will proably want to book your exam aginst the id you wish to keep.
( I cant really say which is the preferred one to keep:
-- (a) You existing Oracle Testing Id from Pearson VUE.
-- (b) The Oracle Testing Id generated from the promeric Id you had at prometric.
-- (c) The Oracle testing Id. your Oracle SSO login is currently asscoiated with.
.... (a) seems the natural choice, however (b) may provide a better link to your old Prometric testing, (c) may end up causing you less hassle).
Anticipate Certification Forum Moderator will advise.

  • Prometric ID vs Oracle Testing ID

    Dears,
What is difference between Prometric ID and Oracle Testing ID?
    Thanks in advance.

What is difference between Prometric ID and Oracle Testing ID?
Thanks in advance. One way of looking at it is such:
a): A Prometric Id is the Id used by Prometric to identify a Candidate
b): An Oracle Testing Id is the Id used by Oracle to Identify a Candidate.
    c) Up to September 2009 (transition to Pearson VUE) these were the same thing. (In fact the term +Oracle Testing Id. was not used).
    d) Post September 2009 it was deemed that for those whio had already tested with Prometric, their Oracle Testing Id would be their (old) Prometric Id.
    e) For Candidates dong their first tests with Pearson VUE they will be allocated a completely new Oracle Testing Id.
    f) Overall the Oracle Testing Id. therefore remains the single identifier under which all tests are taken.
Neither of these identifiers should be disclosed online.
