Promoted Tiles 365 anybody noticed they dont work on IE touchscreens Win 8?

When pressing the tiles in promoted sites app they don't actually work when using Windows 8 touchscreens.
A bit strange considering it's a Microsoft product.
I think the tiles work using a touchscreen if firefox is being used instead of IE.

According to your post, my understanding is that Promoted Tiles did not work when using IE and Windows 8 touchscreens.
As a workaround, you can long click the icon to call the drop down list, then click "Open" to open the link.

Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

I updated to Firefox 5 and now have problems with it not responding ALOT and also even though I have certian sites listed to allow popups they dont work on several sites I use daily. What can I do about this?

I dont know what else to say about it. I updated and now all this is happening and it didnt before my update to Firefox5. I have several site I use daily and I have gone in and marked them to allow popups and they just dont work. The sites are My Yearbook...Kia Financeing...and a few more. And also I am finding that I get a no response a lot!

I am sorry you are not in a position to replace the iPad. It is stating the obvious, but nothing lasts forever - especially something like an original iPad. IMHO, there is nothing you can do to address the issues you have posted about.

There was probably a network error while downloading, try to delete the song and redownload it.
Delete the version in your library.
iTunes Store > Home Page
Far right has Quick Links, click on purchased and sign in
Locate your song and redownload

My iphone 5 will not let me control my volume at all. it is turned all the way up. i try to use the buttons on the side of the phone and they dont work and when im on a call i cant change the volume.

Im having trouble with my iphone 5. For about 6 months now i cannot change my volume while on the phone or using the buttons on the side to turn the volume down. I took it to the sprint store so they could fix it and they said they have never had this problem before. Ive owned every iphone from the very beginning and never had this problem before. please help.

Have you tried going to Settings> then tapping on Sounds. and making sure that change with buttons is turned on?

the called script has no value for SelectionString in firefox 6, but it does in the other browsers i mentioned

Created recovery disks but they dont work

hi i have created recovery media for my CQ56-250SA they created fine after the verification of each disk but upon using them i get an error loading the recovery manager.
the Reason i did this is because my hdd is now showing bad sectors, this is odd as it stays on a solid surface and doesnt get moved. i was going to try and use another hdd and recover using these discs
the hdd i was going to use is a WD scorpio blue 160gb
is the hdd at fault or is it the media creator program not corretly splitting the image so it can boot.
will hp send me another hdd free of charge as my laptop is still under warranty acording to the date in the bios
please help

i have put another hdd in the laptop booted via the recovery discs i created but now i get an error saying that windows failed to load as a required resource is inaccessible, how the hell can a set of recovery discs fail to boot and recover the system back to a useable state.
i did a clone of the original disk as a backup just in case so i still have the recovery partition.
i'm stuck now

All my files are saved on my flashdrive, so the location on the hotspots is the location on the flashdrive. the location however changes when i have it plugged in on a mac, and when i plug it into a pc. so is there a way to change the locations so the computer can find it whethere its on a mac or pc?

Passwords dont work

ORA-12154 indicates that you're having problems connecting, not that you're having problems with passwords.
If you don't have a database on your local machine, what database are you trying to connect to? You'll need to contact the DBA of the remote database and ask for the connection information (SID or SERVICE_NAME, HOST, PORT, etc).
I'm not sure what you're asking with regard to the downloaded CD's. Is this data you're trying to load into a database? Are these Oracle CD's?

Indeed, the apps you download from the iTunes Store require the IOS operating system and will run only on mobile devices. You can buy them on your mac and sync them to your IOS devices, because it is more convenient to browse the iTunes App Store from a computer with a larger screen than from your iPhone or iPod. Also is it easier to sync them to all your devices and to back them up, if you have them in your iTunes library.

Applets on osx dont work

do you have any idea why the same applets, i programmed and published on internet, work fine under ie or other browser on windows xp, but they dont work at all under safari on mac os x?
other applets work on the same os x system but mine dont.

Just because Java is an x-plat language, does not prevent developers from writing platform specific code. To give any better answer, it would probably be necessary to see URLs for the breaking applets, or an SSCCE of code that fails.
BTW - do you have any idea where your shift key is? When you locate it, please apply it once at the start of each sentence.

My burned CD's dont work in my car CD player!! help plz!!

i have a 99 honda civic with a standard one disc player, honda brand, and wen i put burned audio CD's in they dont work. any suggestions?

1st thing to do is double check that iTunes is burning audio and not data CDs. Check in preferences. Secondly try changing your brand of CD. I used to have problems burning onto memorex cds. They just didn't work. Then I've experienced other brands that play in some of my players but not others. Lastly, go to iTunes preferences and tell it to burn on it's slowest setting for better reliability. nb some players will only play audio cds that are CDR, not CDRW.
