  • Promotions in SAP-IS Retail

    Hi SAP Masters,
I have a doubt that are make me nervous.
It's possible to use Customers instead of site groups in promotions? how? (trans.WAK1)
I hope that you can help me.
    Kind Regards
    Pedro Barros

    Hi Pedro
    Yes, you can do ..
Generally promotion is for Group of stores or Group of Customers. ( Retail & Whole Sale ) . Hence in WAK1 transaction, you can assign only the Groups and not the individual Store or Customer.
You can Create a Group for customers and run a promotion.
    1. Create CLASS in CL01 , Select CLASS TYPE .011 ( Customers  )
    2. Assign the External customers to CLASS in CL24N,
    3. Assign the created group in WAK1
but my question why do you need to group customers.?
When you create Whole Sale promotion  Site Group is not a mandatory one . Whole sale promotion is applicable for all external customers which fall on that distribution chain and the promotion price will flow automatically when you raise a sales order for that customers.

  • SAP BW structure/table name change issue with BODS Jobs promotion

Dear All, One of my client has issue with promotion of BODS jobs from one environment to another. They move SAP BW projects/tables along with BODS jobs (separately) from DEV to QA to Prod.
In SAP-BW the structures and tables get a different postfix when they are transported to the next environment.  The promotion in SAP-BW (transport) is an automated process and it is the BW deployment mechanism that causes the postfixes to change.  As a result with the transport from Dev to QA in SAP-BW we end up with table name changes (be they only suffixes), but this does mean that when we deploy our Data Services jobs we immediately have to change them for the target environments.
Please let me know if someone has deployed some solution for this.
    Thanks

This is an issue with SAP BW promotion process. SAP BASIS team should not turn on setting to suffix systemid with the table names during promotion.
    Thanks,

    Hi Dheeraj,
the challenge with the "map the TLOG and create WPUUMS Idoc" is that inside the TLOG you are getting receipt based data. But for the WPUUMS IDOC you'd be expecting to see aggregated information.
The better and recommended way to integrate SAP POS with SAP Retail is to use the delivered standard integration with the following two data streams:
    1. SAP Retail master data (e.g. articels, prices, promotions) to SAP PI to SAP POS
    2. SAP POS - Transnet - SAP PI - SAP POS DM - SAP BW/SAP Retail
The advantage would be that aggregation is handled in POS DM and you have all the detail available in SAP BW and that you will be able to utilize the data collected for other processes as well.
Please check the Wiki for POS Integration which will give you a good overview about the integration and covered scenarios:
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CK/ExchangeInfrastructure-SAPPOS+Integration
For SAP POS DM you will find a wiki here:
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Retail/SAPPOSDM%28SAPPoint-of-SaleDataManagement%29
Additionally there are two courses focussing on this topics:
    Integration: W26TGI
    POS Data Management: W26POS

  • How Benefits is maintained where SAP HR Benefits not implemented?

    Hello folks,
Just wondering how Benefits / Benefits config is maintained where SAP HR Benefits is not implemented. How this works out in SAP and out side SAP i.e. outsourcing etc.. Please explain.
    Thanks a ton..
    JEss..

If your client has decided to outsource Benefits admin to a third party, you will most probably have to :
    1. Send employee status files with the data stored in PA. Ex Active, Termed, DOB, Dependents etc..... The spec for this will be provided by the 3rd party.
    2. Open Enrollment will be handled via online or mail.
    3. All queries regarding benefits will be handled by the 3rd party unless it is a master data issue.
Depending on the size of the org, you may want to promote using SAP for benefits as it had many advantages.

  • Promotions at configuration option for a configurable product

Is it possible to apply promotions to a specific configuration options in a Configurable Material?
For example, Material A is a configurable product. It has several configuration options with charges attached at configuration option (i.e. Characteristic value level) through variant conditions. Now if we want to give a promotional discount for a specific configuration option, Is it possible through standard SAP Promotions and Sales Deal functionality?
Base Price of Material A:   $1000.00
    Confuguration option X     :       $200.00
Promotion on configuration option X : 10% off of Config Option X charges (i.e. -$20)
Net Price of Material A with Config option X should then be:
    $1000 + ($200 - $20) = $1000 + $180 = $1180
If it is possible to handle this kind of promotions in SAP ECC, please suggest the config steps involved to include variant condition type in the Promotions.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Have you checked the downloaded knowledge bases in the CRM tables - COMM_CFGKB or COMM_SCEKB?
If you don't find the entries in one of the above tables (particularly in COMM_CFGKB), then you have an issue regarding the download of SCE.
Please let me know  you answer, so that I will try to help you to solve the download issue

  • Hardware architecture of SAP ERP 6.0

    Dear Expert:
Our customer want to know about the SAP 6.0 Hardware architecture,
Such as why SAP will plan DEV,QAS,PRD in different servers and why DEV modify and transfer to QAS ,and after test then
    transfer to PRD.
and why our customer need to have solution manager , IDES , SAProuter......
I need some documents about these architecture, like a review or introduction.
can any one provide me those documents or ppt files?
    thanks
    Regards
    Jack Lee

    Hi Jack,
for getting hardware requirement you can check with sizing,
And SAP recommends to maintain 3 system landscape only to avoid risk....and this is completely depends upon the customer.
Now a days there are so many clients running with 2 system landscape which is also not the correct one and suggested by sap.
As in any ERP package there are differrent steps/developemnts the customer will have to develop everyday, in that situation this is not possible and highly risk oriented task to get it done directly in PRO.
So SAP recommends the customeres to develop the new developments in Dev, then test the same in QAS with latest data of PRO.
Then only implement the same in PRO.......This is the good practice in maintaining the database.
And as promoter of SAP, SAP AG reommends to implement SOLMAN etc.....as the only way from where the customer directly can contact SAP for any queries/downloads etc. These new products will enable many more functinalities like landscape maintanace, monitoring, ChaRM etc........Solman is the central support desk system from where we can adminster all the systems included in landscape.
*These are only SAP recommendations, not the restrictions in implementing SAP

  • Inbound scenario using tRFC - serialization

    Hi Guys,
    I have the following scenario:
An external System is communicating with SAP using tRFC queue.
So from the SAP perspective this is an inbound scenario.
I am wondering if the sequence of the IDocs that are attached to the tRFC queue by that external system
is kept while they get processed on the SAP side.
To say it in other words: Will SAP process the IDOcs in the same sequence as they were attached to the RFC queue before?
So if there is a communication error will be the sequence kept after communication is established again?
Or do I have to build the timestamp serialization - what I want to avoid as the ALE input function module doesn't provide this.
    Thanks a lot.

  • About JCO and XI

    Hello,
I heard some people talking about end of support for JCO..I was wondering if some of you can confirm or not ? Is there any documents/roadmap about this ?
Those guys were saying that with the promotion of SAP XI and therefore JRA, java proxies and so on..SAP would stop JCO...
Thanks in advance for your answers !

    Dear Eric,
    JCO :
SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo) is a middleware component that enables the development of SAP-compatible components and applications in Java. SAP JCo supports communication with the SAP Server in both directions: inbound calls (Java calls ABAP) and outbound calls (ABAP calls Java).
    JRA :
SAP Java Resource Adapter (SAP JRA) is a J2EE -compatible connector for SAP systems. It enables the integration of SAP systems with J2EE application servers.

  • Field LANGU missing in structure OPM_PS_STRUCT_PROPERTY for SPM

    Hello,
after installing all the components plus acivation of the BI Content for SPM, I got a short dump when calling up the Web GUI.
After further analysation I discovered, that the strucutre OPM_PS_STRUCT_PROPERTY is missing the field LANGU in our development system. In Q and P the field is there and our basis guys cannot detect any errors within the add on installation process.
Any ideas how to fix that without having to repair the structure in the dev system?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tobias

    Hello Divyesh,
thanks for your reply. In the meanwhile we fixed the structure by a modification to see if the web client works afterwards.
Luckily this is the case, so we can proceed for now. Yet we issued an OSS inquiry to further investigate what happened.
Nevertheless we still have one issue within the web client. We cannot get it to switch to german language even though we set the language in the user preferences. When starting up the client for that respective user the SPM log collects the error messages "Could not find Integration Links" and "Could not find user preferences for user". Any ideas what could cause that error. We checked all the web services and they are all running.
You also wrote we could try reinstallation. Until now I though that reinstalling add ons is not possible. Is there a way to this, that is promoted by SAP?
    Thank you very much,
    Tobias

  • First 50 bills for the customers will get discount

    Hi Experts,
I am creating a promotion in SAP POS like  First 50 bills for the customers will get 20 percent discount for a particular date range and as the 51st bill created this promo should not apply
I am unable to create this promo. Is it possible to create this promotion in SAP POS (SAP Triversity) and if yes then what would be the procedure to create this promo in SAP POS (SAP Triversity) ?
Prompt response will be highly appriciated.

    Hi Vikas,
You can check in Promotion Criteria, if such provision exists,
But I suppose 2 option exists:
    a. Promotional prices for a single PLU
    b. Promotional prices for a group of PLUs
Defining of range also talks about defining a range (high-low ) within which the price of the items must fall to be eligible for the promotion
You can tweak on some other things, Pricing Method section,Pricing Target Type field or others to see this scenario of your's is possible or not in SAP POS.
    Hope it helps.

  • Increasing enrollment in current classes

For many the challenge is how to get more students into the SAP classes we offer.  What are the best ideas to increase enrollment in existing classes?

I think for students at ungergraduate level there is often a confusion over who exacftly SAP are, whereas MSc and MBA students know exacftly who SAP are and the ease with which students can be attracted shifts accordingly. In soe MScs held by my schools they have seen their recruitent go from around 15/20 students to 60/65 by promoting SAP. Whereas at U/G level the promotion of SAP has to go hand in had with some form of communication about who SAP are and why it is important. That and of course the fact that it may be perveoced as 'difficult' by some students - particularly yhose with  no operations or IS background.
One anecdotal example that shopws how it can be used: One university begins each year with a set number of spaces in its labs for SAP and s set number of places, defined by the lab spaces, on its SAP-related courses. Each year it gets around 60 students doing one particular course which has a significant SAP element - one which discusses implementation, engineering, and all the elements that a consultant might get involved with.
Each year there is a gradual spreading of word of mouth as their friends begin to realise exactly what SAP is and what it coud mean in their careers and certainly initial job searching. By the end of the year the lab is always filled with around double the number of students that are originally envisaged - just with students who have asked to join their friends to see how to use the software even if there is no acccreditation. For a year or two this was allowed until the numbers got so high that they had to allow only the official students. The course gets requests at theend of the year that are between double and triple the number of places - but by this time the coiurse is over. However each year the universityv finds it cannot attract that number initially to the course - it is always around te 60 mark.
This just shows the power of word of mouth and demonstration (and a little knowledge).
