Prompt for installation after deployment?

So after I deploy xp or 7 i get a prompt upon restart before it finished the install for an analog device. i am assuming it comes from a driver, but do not know how to get rid of it. Any ideas? The prompt is for smax4pnp.exe

Can you perform some more digging? Where is this process coming from?
You can use the Task Manager to get the commandline of the process. You can also use Process Explorer to see which program launched the smax4pnp.exe device.

You don't use your Apple ID or its password to install anything on your Mac. You use the admin account's name and password.
Use the name and password you last entered when resetting them. The "name" you use is not the short name of the admin account folder.
For example. If you create an admin account of John Smith, the short name given to that account's folder will be johnsmith. So when an app requests an admin name and password to install something, the admin name you enter is John Smith, not johnsmith.

Outlook prompting for password after password change

I have a client who has Exchange 2013 and the PCs run Windows 8.1 with Office 2013.
The users just started having the following problem. Their domain passwords are expiring and when they update them with a new one, Outlook starts prompting them for a password when they open it and periodically while Outlook is running. They keep entering
the new password and checking the box to remember it, but the password prompt keeps coming back.
I've checked and the account in Outlook does not have the box checked to always prompt for logon credentials. I did notice that the proxy authentication is set for NTLM so I changed it to Basic, restarted Outlook and there was no password prompt and the
user has not seen one since.
Any idea why having the proxy authentication set to NTLM would cause this after the domain password changed? It has been set to NTLM rather than Basic for years now. Exchange 2013 has been in use there for about 6 months and Office 2013 longer than
that. Windows 8.1 has been on the computers for 3-5 months so I don't think that's it either. I've tried with our domain account we have setup there and with a test user account by changing the password on them but with the proxy authentication set to NTLM
I haven't had the password prompt appear other than once the next time Outlook is opened after the password change, and that is to be expected.
So it's not every user account but a good number of them this is happening with.

I have an update.
There must be a GPO or setting in Outlook changing the proxy authentication to NTLM because this morning it was changed back to NTLM from Basic. They all either shut down or restarted their computers since I worked on them Friday.
One user got the password prompt one time when starting Outlook. She entered the password and that was it. But she was unable to connect to a shared calendar. She put her computer to sleep, woke it up, logged in, and then was able to connect to the shared
calendar. I don't understand that.
Another user could not get the password prompt to go away this morning no matter how often he input his password, and he also was unable to connect to the shared calendar. So I changed the proxy authentication back to Basic again, restarted Outlook (which
is required), got no password prompt, and he was able to connect to the calendar.
I realize the calendar issue is tied to the password issue. What I don't understand is why these people are getting the password prompt ever since they changed their domain password.
I have a test account and test PC set up in a VM and it does not have any of these problems. I've changed its password 3 times but I never get a prompt when opening Outlook and it is set to NTLM.
I hope someone out there has an idea why changing their password now is causing this authentication problem in Outlook.

LR 4 Beta Installer reports Not Enough Disk Space before prompting for installation location

Would be nice it the LR installer prompted for a install location before reporting that there is not enough disk space. While there is not alot of space on my system drive, there is 400MB on the disk I wanted to install it to. (Running XP)

And LR4 is about 1GB..........

Turning Airport On/Off prompts for password after latest Leopard update

After installing the latest Leopard update I'm getting prompted for my password to turn Airport on or off. While it's not a big problem it is a bit of a nuisance.

SSH still prompting for password after authorized_keys have been set

Also made the following in my /etc/ssh/ssh_config on both nodes then restarted

This is making my install of Clusterware (pre-install check) fail with error;
"user equivalence check failed for user "oracle""
Can anyone give me an idea of the next step to make it no longer prompt for a password?

I just ran into this. I had to delete the "oracle" user and readd it. I could talk from box 2 to 1, but could not talk from 1 to 2. After I deleted and readded the oracle user on the second box it worked just fine.

Machine deployed from Windows 8.1 media with Update slipstreamed prompting for installation of KB2919355

I'm preparing a "Windows 8.1 Update" OS deployment in SCCM and have encountered an issue.
Here's what I did:
Downloaded SW_DVD9_SA_Win_Ent_8.1_64BIT_English_-2_MLF_X19-49847.ISO from the Volume Licensing site
Extracted install.wim from the ISO
Mounted the WIM with DISM to add the KB2959977 package (as directed
here, using
these instructions)
Deployed the image with SCCM
After imaging a VM and booting it, I went into Windows Update and was prompted to install "Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355)". It is my understanding the media I used should have the Windows 8.1 Update integrated into it. Can
anyone explain why Windows Update is offering this update to be installed?
Edit: Here's the output of "dism /image:mount /Get-Packages" ran against the WIM which confirms the KB2919355 package is applied to the WIM:

The operation completed successfully.

This is explained in this KB article, where it states:
The MSDN and VLSC updated ISOs do not contain the complete set of fixes that are offered from Windows Update. Therefore, Windows Update and WSUS will offer the KB2919355 update again to computers that are deployed by using the images in these ISOs. This
is expected and does not result in the full reinstallation of the Windows 8.1 Update but only one smaller component of it. The rest of the update will not be downloaded or reinstalled.

Prompted for Credentials after installation.

After a fresh installation of a client OS the Lync client starts and asks for the users credentials. This used to auto-populate with the sip address, user account and credentials and begin the login process... Outlook still does. The
user can enter the appropriate information and they are authenticated into Lync. We'd rather they didn't have to enter this first time (like it used to be).
How is this no longer working? Is there some client policy that I check or user/lync attribute that is now messed up? How does Lync populate these fields.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did the new fresh installation client OS join the domain?
If the computer didn’t join the domain and the Windows account you used to log on wasn’t Lync enabled, you need to enter the credential manually.

after I upload version 4, there are no prompts that follow to install the update on my MacBook air laptop

Eject your phone.
Close iTunes. Open terminal & type the following command or copy & paste:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled -bool false
defaults write com.apple.iTunes AutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled -bool false
The above are two separate lines.
Hit enter.
Re-boot your computer, launch iTunes, connect your phone. Right-clik in the left device pane. Is the restore from backup option there now?

Application in Software Center ask again for installation after succesfull instalation

SCCM 2012 SP1 CU5
I have created msi application version 2, in superseding I configure uninstallation of old version
App deployed for collection and showed in Software Center.
If I install it in Software Center, old app is removed, new installed (appenforce.log tells it), and its ok for some time.
After PC checks for software deployment, Software Center asks to install new app again.
But its installed and works.
in AppIntentEval.log I can see this record:

Can you please share the following info:

-> What are the exact steps being followed for installation.
-> Do you have any previous version of Reader already installed on your machine.
Also it would be helpful if you can you share Windows Installer log. Please follow the steps below to create installer log
1. Launch Notepad
2. Copy paste the following text in notepad
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer\]
"Logging"="voicewarmupx"
3. Now press Ctrl+S to save the file.
4. In the "Filename" field type <any_file_name>.reg for e.g. abc.reg
4. In the "Save as type" dropdown, select "All Files"
5. Click Save button to save the file at desired location
6. Go to the location where you saved the file and double click on it.
7. Follow the prompts to create the registry key.
After the registry key is added successfully, please re run the 11.0.07 patch installer. Once you get the error message click ok and then click on finish to close the installer dialog.
Now go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Temp and look for file with name similar to MSIxxxxx.log.

I have a co-existence of versions 2007 and Exchange Server 2013 CU2 and currently have the following problem:
- Customers now where I performed the migration to the 2013 version, when starting Outlook is always asking for password. The settings for Outlook Anywhere are as follows:

After upgrade I no longer get prompted for a password to get out to the internet. It just won't connect.

After upgrade to 28.0 the initial password request, needed by the company firewall, is never popped up. Any site I try to connect to will timeout. I tried all existing passwords, and even completely removed and reinstalled Firefox. Still no prompt. If I open Internet Explorer I can get a password prompt there, and after I enter it I'm good with my firewall for the day, so I know the firewall is still acting the same way as before. I'm set to remember passwords, and my homepage is set to open http://www.google.com. So that's the site that used to hold the firewall login ID and password. Any ideas?

A firewall should never require a password, only a proxy would require such an authentication.
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I know my icloud has record of my installing this app before, but that was the first install that was failed during that time some other apps also keeps loading without respond whey they updated itself, and this app didn't install before I restart the device. But I don't see this app on my device after I restarted the device so it should have been installed on my device. It seems icloud has created some kind of dead loop that makes it not able to get the correct status about this app on my device.
I have no problem install this app on my other device (iPad) with the same account, but just fail on my iPhone. And it just fine installing other apps...... What happened !!?? @@
