Prompt keeps popping up interupting work

All of a sudden I'm getting "! Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled..." This prompt keeps appearing - I disconnected my printer but that doesn't help. I have my cable modem but I can't disconnect it - I have not added any additional USB devices.. Why is this happening?

go to Tools, add-ons, then only disable java 6.0.22 ONLY, then you have to click on restart. That solved my problem.

Recently, I keep getting the shut down prompt even without clicking on the shut down option or pressing the power button. There have even been instances whereby when I press the 'Cancel' key, the laptop just hard shuts down after a few seconds. On other occasions, the 'Cancel' key works as it's supposed to. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Might be time to backup your data (not TimeMachine) to a regular external drive, c boot off the installer disk that comes with the computer and reinstalling OS X.
Shouldn't touch your files or programs.
If that don't work, c boot off the installer disk again and this time use the Utilities menu > Disk Utility to Erase and format your drive HFS+ Journaled, when done quit and install OS X again.
You'll have to install your programs from fresh sources and files from the backup. (use the same hard drive name and user name as before for iTunes playlists to be correct)
If that doesn't work, then you can take the machine in for service and tell them you did all these things and it still doesn't work.
They will run a diagnostic, you can too from the disks that come with the computer. Apple hardware check.

Also I think if you reboot holding D down (like forever) it also runs the hardware check on newer machines.

Outside of the contact number for that you've already used I don't know another way of direct contact. Here are some things that they may or may not of had you try that might help you. If you will go to the settings app and pick general on the right-hand side you will see accessibility. Within that you can adjust a text size make the text bowl you can also increase the contrast. You can also adjust the brightness and control panel.
As for Siri again in the settings app under general you should see Siri on the right-hand side with the switch to turn it on. If that is turned on and you're still having issues
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

I am having the same issue when on my Macbook pro. However when i access the iTunes store from my iPhone and click "Redeem" it prompts me to sign in and works no problem. But when I do the same on my laptop the sign-in popup just keeps appearing and I never get to the redeem page. It's very strange.

Hi, you can't change which ID was used to purchase any app. However, you can edit your Apple ID, which may be a better option than using a new id.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

IPhone4 HomeButton Not Working & Voice Cntrl Keeps Popping Up

Yesterday my home button stopped working & the Voice Control (not voice over) keeps popping up. This happened 3 other times this year. I've backed it up in iTunes, and every time I try to restore it, it just keeps telling me it see's a phone in recovery mode. This is the most frustrating thing in the world to deal with right now.
Does anyone have any advice before I just throw it against a wall? Seriously I would if I weren't expecting an important call.
In the meantime, I went to Settings/General/Accessibility and turned on the Assistive Touch so I now have a stupid little make believe home button floating around on my screen to atleast help me temporarily with the Home Button not working issue...

A little late here but if you're still facing the issue there are a couple of things you can try.
From what you've said about Voice Control popping up, it looks like yours is a completely hardware issue. So all those gimmicks about software recalibration might not work. You should check out http://www.igeeksblog.com/iphone-home-button-not-working/ where there are some fixes for an unresponsive home button.
Alternatively, you can try whacking the back of the phone (right behind the home button, with your knuckle) and check if that fixes the thing temporarily.
The best thing would be to get to the Apple Store and let the guys fix it. Even if it costs money... because that way, you get the issue sorted or at least know where you stand.

System Preferences->BlueTooth and turn it off. Restart and see if that fixes the problem.

Quit itunes then launch Safari.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit Safari then open iTunes.
If Safari does not open, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch iTunes to test until you find the incompatible Safari extension then click uninstall.
