Prompt LOV takes forever to expand the Node on Webi report based on BW Universe

Hi,
We have a Webi report migrated from 3.1 to our 4.1 (BI 4.1 SP2 P2) test environment.
One of the prompt "Vendor" refreshes with LOV in a node structure however when I try to expand the node it takes forever and never opens.
This prompt is predefined at universe level.
Strangely on 3.1 I do not see node structure.
This is on 4.1
Has anyone come across such scenario.
Please suggest.

I am also facing same problem and nw m using Administrator(userName) then there is no need to be give other rights(administrator using FullControl) as u given
Applications->Web Intelligence->User security()->Assign security->Advanced rights->Add/remove rights->Application->Web Intelligence->Enable drill mode.
Plz let me any other solution.

There may be something going on with your ownership if the Trash if the files aren't deleting. OK, let's try this:
Launch Terminal (found in Applications>Utilities folder). At the $ prompt, type (or paste):
ls -la
and hit Return. In the right hand column, you should see .Trash listed and to the left, you will see the "owners" name (in my case, clintondyches). If the owners name shows as root then the following will fix the problem. At the same $ prompt enter
sudo chown yourusername .Trash
(replace yourusername with your actual user name - such as mine being clintondyches).
At the prompt $ again, type or paste:
ls -la
If this was successful, you should see yourusername instead of root.
You should be in business now. You should have ownership of .Trash and be able to empty your Trash, drag items to it and empty it, etc.

How to schedule the webi report based on data changes in the report data

Hello,
I want to schedule a webi report based on data change in a column in the report.
The scenario is something like below:
1. If a data of a particular column changes from 2 to 3 than I would like to schedule this report and sent it to users mail box.
I know how to apply alerts or schedule a report or data tracking for capturing changes in the report but I dont know how to schedule the report only for data changes.
Anybody done this before.

How to diable the default option of report-based total (when applicable)

Hi,
Anybody know how to diable the default option of report-based total (when applicable)?
By default this aggregation rule option is checked.
There should be some configuration tag in instanceconfig.xml or somewhere else, such as <ReportAggregateEnabled>true</ReportAggregateEnabled>?

you can change this from admin tool,
open admin tool,
business model and mapping
find your column in the model
double click your column, click on aggregation, >> default rule >> none.
but if you do this, you cant make any sum operation.

Since upgrading to OS 8.0.2 my ipad2 freezes, slows down, safari takes forever to open, the celluar network goes to No Service and the only way to fix it is to reboot it and this takes longer than before. Has Microsoft taken over Apple software?

SInce upgrading to OS 8.0.2 my ipad 2 freezes, slows down, safari takes forever to open pages, cellular network goes to No Service requiring a reboot (and this takes longer than before), in summary, I now have a fancy paperweight, i used to love my ipad. I feel as if Microsoft has taken charge of the Apple Software Division.

Sorry if someone sees this post in a different thread; Just want to get some additional exposure.. Who knows, maybe someone from Apple will take note..
The glitchy, unresponsive, slow and outright crashes are something you would expect in a less superior product. I paid what I consider a premium because of the perceived integrity of the company and quality of their products. I am not going to go as far to say Apple ***** and so do their products; but they have to to a better job of acknowledging problems and providing recourse. Right now, it "feels" like they don't care about existing customers. I am not sure of the exact #'s, but I believe products like the Ipad2 represent a significant population of their existing Ipad product base.
So what is my specific rant; If Apple is going to take a long time, or worst, NOT fix the problems introduced in IOS 8 for IPAD 2, give us the option of going back to IOS 7. I would say most everyone was extremely happy with their product running under that OS and would migrate back in a heartbeat. By blocking this option, it feels like Apple is saying that the only recourse is to live with crappy performance, wait forever without any real news, or throw away your Ipad 2 and buy a newer model. Right now this is 100% completely unacceptable, and I, as will thousands of others, will watch how this unfolds when we do buy new products. Most technology products only have short, finite lifespan and I would think it is at very least very important to Apple to retain customer base in a highly competitive marketplace. I'm done...

HT1349 I just got iPad 3 and I am trying to download all app to my iPad it takes forever and for the one that finish downloading, it won't work when i tap on it. Anybody knows what is going on?

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is absolutely safe.
Also try downloading another free app and then try again.

Expanding Tree nodes in Web Dynpro

Hi,
I have created a recursive tree with two main nodes. These nodes contain subnodes.
The filling of these nodes has been done in wdDoInit().
The problem is that whenever I expand the second node, the first node also gets expanded.. even when it (first node) is not expanded.
When I go to some other window and then come back to this window (wdModify()),it works properly. i.e. the first node does not get expanded.

It looks strange to me that you use two main nodes on the first level. In the most cases it's enough to have only one node for each level of a tree.
Are the two nodes mapped to the same context node? If so you do not need the second node I think. Because when the first node is expanded the mapped context node will get the corresponding lead selection. But the lead selection will influence on the second node as well. That's why the tho nodes expand simultaneously.

How to expand the field in WEBI

Hi Team,
I have a requirement where i have a Brand,Department and Keyfigures.i have created the Universe based on the SAP BEx query.In the WEBI Report when the user selects the Brand and double click that he should get all the Departments which are under that Brand only.Suppose i have a brand A and for this brand i have Departments 1,2 and 3,So in the Report display if the user double clicks on the Brand A then should get 1,2 and 3 Departments.I tried creating a class with objects Brand and Department and selecting Department where Department = 1,2 and 3 and in the WEBI could not get the data but data is present in the backend.COuld not understand where iam struck up.
Please help if you have worked on this type of scenario.

Thanks for taking your time,i have tried that way crated the Custom Hierarchy dragging Brand and Department to Right side but in the WEBI Report that is not reflected,like when the Hierarchy is created and drill is selected in the WEBI the data should be underlined which indicated the Hierarchy but that is not coming for me.

How to use the SCOM 2012 Web Reporting page

Hello all-
   We are on SCOM 2012 SP1. I just have a general question about reporting. I know there is a "Reporting" tab in the real, locally installed, SCOM Operations Console software. That part I get. I see that there
are many pre-made reports the for me to run. For example under Microsoft Server 2008 Operating System (Monitoring) folder there is a
Performance History report. When I double click on it, it takes me to the report window where I can click
Add Object and add a server and then click
Run.
This is pretty simple in concept.   BUT very few people at my company have the full Operations Console installed on their machine. And as I'm sure you know, the SCOM Web Console does not have a Reporting Tab. So they have to use the
SCOM Reporting website to run such reports. I found that you can get to this page at the url:
http://<reporting server>/Reports
This does bring up the Reporting console. On the list I do see a Report.Windows.Server.2008.PerformanceHistory listed. So this surely seems to be the equivalent from my screenshot above.   However, it's not even close to user friendly like
the Reporting area in the SCOM operations console software. There's multiple fields at the top. All of which are required, and almost none of which have dropbox or other ways to help you fill them in. I have no idea what to put into these boxes or the format
to use.
What am I missing here? Is there a more user friendly interface anywhere? In an ideal world, I'd really love to have a user interface where I can post the links to a few popular reports, like CPU and Disk Space for example. Then ideally
all the user would have to do is select their servers and the time frame and that's all.   Which really is what you do in the Operations Console software.   So isn't is it that easy in the web reporting tool? Is there a guide or how-to
section somewhere I'm missing? Or just a more friendly looking way to get at this information?

Well, my first screen shot above is squished, so you really can't see it. But what I'm saying is that the same report in the SCOM software has the level of configuration I want on it.   It allows you to pick the date range and add objects
to it, then you can click on Run.     However when I access the same report on the reporting console, it has all these extra fields. None of which I know how to fill in properly.
I would ultimately like my customers to be able to do exactly that in the web version. Pick their server and their date range and run it.   There are not likely going to be too many reports like you're mentioning which I can completely configure
before hand, so they just click on the link to have it run. Most times I'd like my users to at least be able to select a server name.
Any idea how I would simplify the web version of the report? Or why they look so very different?

WebI report based on Universe upon SAP BEx Queries:Prompt issue

I am creating Web Intelligence report using Universe based on SAP Bex Queries. In WebI report I created a filter condition as I need to run report based on two specidc dates. I need to schedule report to run 2nd of every month to show data for last month. At present I have the following filter : date between 'Start Date' and 'End Date'. 'Start Date' should always be 'first date of previous month' and End Date be always must be 'Last date of previous Month'. How to do this. The solution I thought would be to create variables at report/universe level ('first date of previous month' and 'Last date of previous Month') and use in the filter using 'Object from this Query' option.But this 'Object from this Query' option is missing in the prompt.Is there any work around to achieve this.? Could you please help me.

I have a related question too.
I have 2 queries and need a Combined BEx query written on this for reporting. (WebI)
In the 2 queries, there is a Field which needs to be restricted.
But this field should not be restricted in the Combined BEx query.
So I thought of restricting the Field at the report level. But in this case, the user gets a prompt to enter a value for the field.
And this is not desirable as per the requirement.
COuld you please tell me if there is another way of handling this without the user being prompted to enter a value while the report is being run, but still I need selection at the Field level.

Not showing objects in left pane when expanding the nodes (V 1.5.1)

When expanding DB objects nodes (tables, procedures, packages etc), not showing objects in node.
Can anyone know why it is so and what has to be done?

If they're other users' objects, use the Other Users node.All are owned by me (not speaking about other's objects).
Do give OS/JDK/DB versions when you post, and mind v3.0 is production.OS Windows Xp

MSI PRO-E takes forever to autodiscover the SATA drives in RAID mode

If I change the bios from IDE to RAID, it takes at least a minute to find each SATA drive during the post. Any ideas? The bios is at 8.2 so I'm wondering if a flash to 8.5 would help.

I flashed the bios to 8.5 and I still have the same problem. These are older SATA drives so I wonder if it's a compatability issue. Maxtor 6Y120MO drives. They were fine on my old Gigabyte MB with SATA Raid. They are at least 6 years old though.
If I leave the RAID type to IDE, the bios picks up one of the drives quickly. These drives actually have the normal IDE power connectors on the drives.
Any help is appreciated!

Error while trying to expand the frame in oracle report...

I have standard report "Material Account Distribution Detail" in 11.5.10 in INV module and I want to customize the report which i want to add few more fields.
Current width and height of the"Main Section" under Layout Model is 15 and 8.5.
What I tried is i increased the width of the Main Section to 20 and I tried to run the report and it error out saying the error as "REP-1219: 'M_value_range1' has no size -- length or width is zero." I have not touch the any frame, I just tried to increase the width to see whether it works or not...
How to fix this issue and how to increase the frame size so that I can able to add few more fields...
Note: Concurrent program output print style is 'BACS'

How to get the last sub folder value from the string in Webi report

I have an object coming from universe, this object will contain string e.g. \\Users\Public\Pictures\Sample\
or \\Users\Doc\BI\BO\Webi\
I need the last sub folder from this path to be displayed i.e. Sample and Webi.
I would like to know how it can be done.
I tried using formulas like POS, SubStr and Length. however the issue is that the length of the the sting is not fixed and the number of "\" are also not fixed.
I would appreciate any help regarding this.
