Prompt to save before scanning
When "creating a document from scanner" in Acrobat 8 Standard, I would be prompted to Save before the scanning began. This isn't happening with Acrobat X Standard. Is there a setting I can change in order to get this prompt?
Lori, Thanks for your reply. I now have Acrobat X standard and that is where I'm not prompted to save before the scan starts. What can you tell me about this version?

Someone asked if I could help with this problem they are having with Firefox with Windows XP.
There are a couple things going on that may or may not be related.
Firstly the Yahoo toolbar was installed in Firefox. I assume this was bundled with another program or update.
Also, if you try to print a webpage from within Firefox you are prompted to save the file first. I tried printing a page from Firefox on my computer (Firefox 30 Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint - 1.0) and was not prompted to save the file first.
I'm assuming that this issue is related to the Yahoo toolbar.

Automatically prompt to save PDF when Print Preview for Purchase Order?
We recently upgraded to EP7.
I have an end user that does our PO's.
She swears up and down that she used to be able to go into any given PO, be it new or existing, and click on the print preview button. She says when she did this she was prompted to save or open the file.
She is set to PDF Preview when doing a print preview of the PO.
When we first upgraded the system, it was broken. When she tried to do this it would give you a Page Cannot Be Displayed error as in unable to find the page. We learned that there was an issue with name resolution within the system. We fixed this and now she can view the files as PDF when doing a print preview.
But she still claims it did not used to work like this that when she went to preview she would be prompted to save or view which worked great for her because she could click save, save it to her computer, and then email it to whomever she needed to send it to.
Seems clear to me that that when you do PDF Preview that an SAP browser session is created and sent to an web site (internal to SAP of course) to view the PDF. How can I tell SAP to give me the option to view or save?
For now the user is repeating the output when she needs to reprint another copy of the PO.
I should also say that we use Free PDF Creator. After setting her default printer to this, she says that now when she creates a new PO, it is working like before. So its possible that the prompt was the one from PDF Creator.
The user says she swears she could simply print preview would allow her to save local. I never saw it for myself prior to the upgrade.
Anyone seen this before or can offer any clues? Is there away to issue output at print preview?How did you fix 'page cannot be displayed' error?
It looks like issue was at browser/pdfreader side. -

How do I save my scan in image capture?
What option to I go to save it as a JPEG or PNG to my computer?There's no Save command because Image Capture automatically saves scans when you click the Scan button.
To find the format options, you have to click Show Details at the bottom. This will reveal the save location and format options, including an Overview button so you can test your crop etc. settings before you do the final scan.

How can I save a scanned document after updating to Mavericks?
Since updating to mavericks on my IMAC, I can not save a scan using my HP photo smart 3180 scanner. I get an error message: the file could not be written to. Check properties for the file to make sure it in not in read-only. I had no problem saving scanned documents before the update.
Not true, Image Capture can Save in PDF Format
and to anywhere you like, including Preview which can handle multiple PDF doc's.
If you do not like or do not wish to spend a little time figuring out Image Capture, then try scanning with Preview like HP is suggesting in the link that baltwo posted. -
Mx925 - save the scan to network share

is it possible to setup the mx925 to save the scan to a network share? e.g., \\QNAP\scans
The network share is on a QNAP NAS, if that makes a difference.

Prompt to save markups when existing AutoVue
Hi,
I am trying to add "Prompt to save markups" when exiting AutoVue by closing a Web Browser window.
I am having trouble with "Cancel" button as its not behaving as expected.
When I close the browser window with modified markups I get a prompt with three options :
a) Yes -- Allows to save and exit . Behaves as expected . All good.
b) No -- Ignore changes and exits . As expected . All good.
c) Cancel -- Ignore changes and exits. Behaves exactly as "No" option. I expected it to return to applet and DO NOTHING . Instead it closes the window.
Below is the code I am using to activate this feature .

Sorry for a late reply, trouble with notifications...
The problem here is that the script is called from the web page just before closing it and applet doesn't have an option to stop page from closing anyway, that's why 'cancel' option is not correct in this context.
saveModifiedMarkups() method has 2 variations, you need to call the one that takes 'mayCancel' parameter and set it to false.
In that case the prompt will only have two options: 'yes' and 'no'.
So your function will look like this:

Hi,
We are having problem viewing dashboard which contains Xcelsius document. In our development server we were able to view all dashboards with embedded Xcelsius document but when we move it to our production server it shows different output. Everytime we try to view the dashboard it keeps on prompting a "Save As Dialog" instead of showing the Xcelcius file. I really have no idea on what to do next, please help.

its an issue of macromedia flash player, if you already installed it on ur machine, remove it and reinstall the last version from the macromedia website thenrestart your mcahine.

This is my mother's computer. It's an HP Pro something. It has Win 7 Pro and Firefox is up to date. I'm not sure when this started because she doesn't use it every day. We can't get to Google at all using Firefox. I even tried a new tab just now and I get prompted to save a file (earlier the file it is prompting to save is NFRC_FLE13007-1A-RD_3300_SN_CIG_IS20_i89.pdf [the two dashes might be underscores - can't read my own writing!] Now it doesn't show me the file name). I tried using bing to search for this file name and didn't get any results.
I already tried clearing the cache and also resetting the browser using CTRL-F5. I've rebooted after that too. No changes...
I have not cleared cookies - I think she relies on a lot of them and I don't want to get her more confused!
Also, I've set up a number of "shortcuts" on her desktop so she can go directly to some websites. One is for Yahoo, one is for WebMD, etc. When I click on these, I do not have the issue. Seems to be related only to Google. Okay, just tried Google Maps and the same thing happens... And same thing happens with GMail. I captured the window, see the attachments..

p.s. I occasionally (on my computer) get prompted to save a file in Firefox when I hit the back button. I just say cancel and then do it again and everything is fine. I don't know if this is related either. I have Win 8.1 on a Lenovo laptop.Try to boot the computer in [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows Safe Mode with network support] (press F8 on the boot screen) open firefox and see if that happens again.

I am using saved passwords feature. The site in question is a common webmail site. I have more than one account for this site. Usernames and passwords for each account were stored in Firefox 'Remember Passwords' feature. I unintentionally deleted one entry from the dropdown list that is displayed when I go to the site's login page. Now, when I log in to this account, Firefox will not prompt to save the password. If I display my saved passwords list, there are entries for the other accounts on this site, but none for the user account in question. The Saved Passwords 'Exceptions' list is empty. How can I get Firefox to re-prompt to save the password for this user on this site? (Note: When I speak of 'user', I am not referring to user account on the PC or a specific Firefox user profile.)
I am using Avast free version. Today I removed the LAN cable out of the 24 port switching hub and plugged directly into the router port. Now the program runs fast when checking for emails. Looks like all the emails are showing up. I do have other computers plugged into the switching hub with no problems. The hub is brand new. My thinking is the cable connector might be to blame. I will try re-crimping the wires. As for now, things are running good. I will keep investigating. Thanks

Mac bookpro color profile intermittleny changes.
