Prompting for apple ID login on iTunes launch

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction, as I've tried to find the right thread for this without succes. Every time I launch iTunes, I am prompted to login to my apple ID to check available downloads, even though I have "always check for available downloads" deselected. It also did this when I had the option selected. I've had this problem on-and-off for months, not really sure what to do about it.

I am experiencing the same thing.  I get asked for my Apple ID and password and then the App closes.
This happened after I update my operating system to 10.6.8 and Sync'd my iphone.  This is only on a number of apps such as Whats App.  I have reset my password so I know that what I am typing in is correct.

  • Repeated prompts for Apple ID password in iTunes

I can sign in to iTunes with both of my Apple ID's but then get repeated prompts for my password when I attempt to access purchased items or account information.  No similar problem on my Mac Book Pro or iPad.
I have de-authorized and re-authorized the computer for both ID's.  I also looked for the SC folder but it cannot be found (Apple advises trashing it).  I therefore have no access to recent purchases or my own account information.  Help anyone?
Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite, 10.10.1

You may need to do a credit card "update" in your account.  Apparently "it" needed a re-verify because I had accessed my apple account from another computer.  Did so and it worked. Apple is opaque in many ways and it was totally unhelpful as it just kept rejecting my good password with no explanation.

  • While installing new app prompting for Apple Id & Password

    Hi,
Can someone help me out, I have created a new apple id and trying to install new apps(Games), it prompting for apple id & password. When I provide credentials pop up the following message "This Apple id hasn't used in iTunes store yet" .
What should I do now? Help is much appreciated. Thanks.

There is no fee for creating an iTunes or App Store account.  But, before you can download anything from the store, you need to associate your AppleID with a store account, which needs to include payment information.  You are only charged anything if or when you download a for fee content item or app for the first time (re-downloads of purchased content other than audiobooks is free, as many times as you wish).
Your account will be active within moments of setting it up in iTunes, and it will work as long as your AppleID is valid (so indefinately - mine has been actice since the iTunes store first opened).
Just for clarity - an AppleID by itself is just an identifier and is used to create accounts (and subsequently log in and use) a number of Apple services.  You use an AppleID to create accounts for the iTunes and App stores, for using these forums, as well as services like iCloud, iMessage and so forth.  The AppleID is just the identification used to create the accounts, but the service accounts need to be created before they can be used.  So you need to use your AppleID to create an iTunes store account before you can start downloading content from the store.

  • ITunes Match Unable To Get Past "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..."

Been trying for days but it just gets to "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..." and then stops and allows me to press the Start button again to start the match process.  Sometimes I get error -3231.
I've called Apple and they want $19 to solve the issue even though I paid the $25 for Match.
I've turned iTunes Match off.  Turned Genius off.  Logged out of my iTunes account.  Quit iTunes.  Restarted. Logged back into iTunes account.  Turn Genius on.  Turn iTunes Match back on and let it go through the process again with no success.
My library has a couple hundred songs less than the 25,000 max but it is pretty large.  Had the same issue when I tried with a smaller library some time ago.  I've created a new library and have the same issue.

    Hi,
You should consider rebooting your internet router
Then try holding option key whilst turning off match. Close iTunes and then reopen. Turn on iTunes Match and select add this computer.

  • Waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results - time out -uk

    Hi,
    Help me please
I seem to be stuck in a loop that after the gathering of information has finished, the info is sent to apple and then I get 'waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results' after about 30 or so seconds I then get an error message
'we could not complete your request, the network timed out, blah blah blah make sure network connection is active'  no error code.
I am a windows 7 user, I have comodo fire wall, nod32 and sky broadband.
I have forwarded the ports 80 and 443, i have turned off comodo and disabled nod32, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled itunes and I am still no further forward.
My internet connection is fine, i can access and download from the itunes store so there should be no issues, genius is on and working and getting results from apple so what is wrong with match?
    Thanks
    Marc

    Marcus_30,
thanks, unfortunately tried almost all of that already...
You must be able to disable the firewall, even just temporarily.
    Did that already, no change
Plug directly into the router and have nothing else running.
no change either if connected via Wifi or cable
I take it that you can connect to the store ok?
yes, iTunes store is working fine - even can download at the same time I am getting the network timeout error
Have you been through the re-installing iTunes motions?
this will be my next step - had hoped to avoid that...

  • Waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results

Out of the blue, iMatch is hung-up on step 1 and displays this in the progress bar
"waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results".  Nothing ever happens after that.  Songs that I have been adding since the beginning are in the cloud and play on all my devices -even thought in itunes it indicated that they are not in the cloud. Anything new I have added to my library appears on my other devices as grayed-out and do not play.  They do play on my PC.
I have a Dell PC with Vista running the latest version of iTunes.
    I have signed in/out
    Turned iMatch (and genious) off/on
    Deauthorized and re-authorized the PC
    restarted iTunes
    restarted the PC.
I have no other issues with this machine.
Support has not been able to help other than claiming it is Apple's fault.
    Thanks, VJ

    I had to restart iTunes.

  • IPad randomly launches requests for Apple Store login information

A few weeks ago my iPad started to ask for my Apple login information regularly, launching the login box for no apparent reason.  I try to watch a youtube, and the login comes up.  I start my browser, and the login comes up.  Any thoughts out there on what happened and how to stop this?
    Thanks.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

  • Ipad asking for apple id when app is launched

All of the sudden our ipads are asking for the Apple ID when a student tries to launch an app.

Having this exact same issue that literally popped up over night.  I have 24 iPads in a classroom that I use Apple Configurator with.  I've not had any problem up until the last couple days.  Various apps, when opened will prompt for an apple id and password.  If the student hits cancel, the app shuts down.

alter system resync sss; --> this command will sync all the users, groups.
alter group <group name> sync security with all application; --> This can be used to individually sync the required group

Will check it up with user on any change in her access.

  • How to locate 'look for apple tv' command in iTunes

i am trying to connect first generation apple tv to mac mini.
following all instructions but apple tv does not appear in itunes devices list.
cannot find how to configure itunes for 'look for apple tv' command.

That depends on how you set it all up. If you chose the "connect to iTunes" option then you should be able to sync content to the hard drive on the Apple TV. If you chose the "add shared library" option then you can only stream to the Apple TV.

  • NAC Agent only prompts for username and login on wireless

Another question for the smart people of the world.
I have had a couple laptops where the cisco NAC agent will prompt for a password and verify the computer via the wirless network but when I try to do that on the wired network, it sends me to the download page for the NAC agent. It doesnt seem to register that the NAC agent is installed and working even though it is.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

    Hi Jonathan,
The NAC agent communicates with the CAS usiing the SWISS protocol. This protocol uses port 8095 for L2 adjacent devices to the CAS and 8096 protocol for L3 adjacent devices to the CAS.  Have you checked if these ports are allowed through to the CAS for the wired clients?  Do check the support logs on the CAM and CAS suggest something. If you can post the agent logs from the wired clients I could analize and let you know where the process is failing.
Do let me know if this helps.
    Regards,
    Som

  • Connected ipod, no prompt for setting up icloud in itunes

Per Apple: "To update to iOS 5, just connect your device to your Mac or PC and follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes."
No automatic onscreen instructions when I connected my ipod. It is possible that, in the past, I had requested to "not be reminded again" whenever the update prompt appeared. Not sure what the next step is.

After you connect your iPod Touch (Only 3rd/4th Generation) to iTunes, choose the Summary Tab. In there click Check for Update button.

  • Prompt for Apple ID of another iphone user appears when purchasing apps

When I try to purchase an app, the Apple ID that appears & the password asked for in the prompt is for my boyfriend's phone & not mine. We both have iphones (mine is a 4, his a 4s).

Sounds like you are logged into the AppStore under your boyfriend's ID. Log out,
and then log back in using your AppleID and password.

I upgraded my iPhone 4s to 8.0 and after the Hello screen, I keep receiving the prompt to enter the password for the Apple ID Sign In so I can complete the iCloud set up  There is an option to "skip this step" and I have tried that but it goes back to this screen.  This is the only thing my iPhone will do.  It's like it is stuck in a loop.
I have reset and verified the Apple ID Password.
I have completed a hard reset of my iPhone using the home button and the power button.
I have restored my iPhone 2x and and it still comes back to this same screen.
Anyone have a solve for this problem?  Thanks!

I've done the reset setting on my iPhone 5s & my device crash again while watching YouTube. The screen turns blue & the device won't start for 2mins. Can someone please help?

  • Apps prompts for Apple ID, then does nothing - what to do?

I just set up my new 11" MacBook Air with the assistant, restoring all of my apps and user data from the TimeMachine backup of my old MacBook.
Now, a couple of apps I purchased on my old MacBook prompts me to sign in using my Apple ID when I try to launch them (since they were purchased on another computer). But when I enter my username and password, the app just quits, and if I click it again, the app won't launch at all.
Restarting, and signing in and out of Mac App Store doesn't help. Should I deactivate the apps on my old MacBook? How?
What am I supposed to do to fix this?

Removing the applications manually (dragging them to the trash), and then reinstalling them from the Mac App Store solved the problem.
