Propagation of Properties report

I am trying to run this report to change existing properties on documents located in a folder.  I understand I need to create a template file but I can't find any help on what that should look like.  I have a document category called Manuals.  I created a new document category called Qualification.  I need to take some of the documents in the Manuals category and change it to Qualification.  What should the template file have in it?

hi all,
Got the solution.
1. Does it changes other document types by adding this property as a new property?
yes it impacts all the document types... including the folders
2. How can i see this new property value in the document type where the property is not maintained itself?
if the added property is not part of property group. you wont able to see that.however the meta data would have updated with new property.
3. how to avoid this ? in preventing other document types and folders to get changed.
Need to develop a custom report for the mass update of properties...
thanks for your support

  • 'Propagation of Properties' report changes unintended document types

    Hi All,
could someone explain how the 'Propagation of Properties' works?
I tested it for changing the custom property change. I have 4-5 different resource types with each property structure.
My intention is to change a particular property value. So,
I created a  document of that resource type and assigned the value for it.
I selected the target folder(which also has other document types and doesnt contain this property) and give the property to propogate.
then in the result summary, i could see along with the relavent document type, all other document type and folders meta data also changed. However i couldnt see those changes in the corresponding object details.
I am really confused on how this is working.
    1. Does it changes other document types by adding this property as a new property?
    2. How can i see this new property value in the document type where the property is not maintained itself?
    3. how to avoid this ? in preventing other document types and folders to get changed.
Please kindly clarify the questions. this would be very helpful in understanding.

  • Run report Propagation of Properties

    Hello,
I want to run the report "Propagation of Properties" in a CM FSDB repository for a predefined property : "business_unit_optional"
When I run the report on my "/SEPData/Restricted/Internal/" folder (that is a FSDB CM Repository) I've the following error :
    error executing: /reporting/reports/Content Administration/Mass Operations/property/1183648832033.xml(com.sapportals.wcm.service.reporting.ReportInput@30df90bc) - java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.reporting.reports.PropertyPropagationReport.getPropagationInfo(PropertyPropagationReport.java:586) at com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.reporting.reports.PropertyPropagationReport.getReportInfo(PropertyPropagationReport.java:539) at com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.reporting.reports.PropertyPropagationReport.execute(PropertyPropagationReport.java:523) at com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.reporting.reports.PropertyPropagationReport.execute(PropertyPropagationReport.java:482) at com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.reporting.monitor.ReportComponent$ReportWrapper.execute(ReportComponent.java:160) at com.sapportals.wcm.service.reporting.scheduler.ReportScheduler$Runner.run(ReportScheduler.java:197)
and the properties are not updated.
Then I ran the report on the "/documents" folder, this is working fine.
The only difference between the two folders is that my CM repository is "Version Enable" and not the "/documents".
So I disabled the versioning in my CM repository, and the properties are properly updated.
This is not a solution, as I do have a hierarchy of about 5000 folders, and I can't envisage to manually disable the versioning for all folders and then reanable them.
Did someone have an idee ?
    Thank you for your support.

    To keep you updated :
I post an OSS message, and SAP reconized this was due to an error.
The error will be corrected and shipped in SPS 14

  • Reporting wrong properties for H.264 File

I copied a .MTS AVCHD M.264 file from the chip recorded by a Panasonic HDC-SD1 to my hard drive and the Properties reported are 1440 x 1080 by Windows 7 and Premiere Pro 5.0.  It looks as if it is actually 1920 x 1080 and other programs report the file this way.  Do I need to update some software, or is this a misnomer that I should ignore?

  • Propogation of properties

    Hi All,
As all of you know, we have report at Content Management->Classification->Reports-
    >Mass Opertions, namely "Propagation of Properties".
This report helps to apply properties to bunch of files & folders by using template file for which proprties have been preset.
    We are facing following problems:
    1) Let us say, there are 4 properties a,b,c &d. When we set value to a,b & c and execute report to apply these propeties to target folder all properties values get propogated properly.
But when we change value of property d, all other properties a,b & care reset or lost.
    2) Properties for which values are of type boolean and multi valued: propogation if properties not working.
Please let me know how to fix these issues or any work arounds.
    Regards,
    Ganga

thanks all but i forgot to use
    InputStream is = getClass().getResourceAsStream("t.prop");
    and its done,

  • Modify a standard KM Report

    Hello,
I've been trying to find the .par file for a specific report in order to change it according to some requirements. The report is "Propagation of Properties". I've been looking in the Support Desk but I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is exactly and what the filename is?
    Thanks,
    Luis

    Hi,
As far I know you cannot modify the standard report. When I had similar requiremnt for TBP Report (KM Report), I was suggested to create a custom built KM Report which I did as per Thilo Brandt's article.
May be you contact Thilo Brandt or Laurs Reuter for the same

  • Automated process to set metadata properties of documents in KM

    Hi,
I want to upload about thousand files in KM and set their metadata properties. There are five metadata properties among which two are links, one is thumbnail, and two are multivalued check boxes.
Is there any tool/process available so that I can set these properties automatically?

    Hi Deepti,
    with NW04 SPS18, NW04s SPS09 you have a new KM Report "<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/8d6f90d85c6572e10000000a11466f/content.htm">Propagation of Properties</a>.
It should help you achieve what you need.

  • Unable to save a report that includes a datasource of "Microsoft SQL azure" type

I have install SSRS in azure using the following instructions (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn449661.aspx) and all seems to work fine, however when I create a report in report builder 2014 (in this case empty) that includes a Microsoft SQL Azure
datasource type I am unable to save the report and get the following error message (even though when I test connection it succeeds).
"The report definition was saved, but one or more errors occurred while setting the report properties"
Reports with standard sql datasources work fine.
I have also tried creating the report using Visual Studio 2013 and get a similar error message.
I have tried this using SQL 2012 and SQL 2014 and get the same error.
Does anybody know how I can create a report with Microsoft SQL Azure datasource type?

    Hi jamesla,
Based on my research, the issue can be caused by a deleted shared data source still exist under the Data Sources list in Report Builder. For more details about this scenario, we can refer to the following thread:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/7170dbee-048c-4298-89ba-df4d42924c8e/the-report-definition-was-saved-but-one-or-more-errors-occurred-while-setting-report-properties?forum=sqlreportingservices
Since the error message without detail information, we can try to render the report to see the detail error message. Besides, we can try to check it in the log file. The SQL Reporting Services log files are found on the reporting services point server, in
    the folder %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\<SQL Server Instance>\Reporting Services\LogFiles.

  • SharePoint 2013 SSRS in SharePoint Mode - Reports not loading controls.

    Hello All,
I have recently run across an issue that has stumped me and my DBA. We have just walked through installing SSRS 2012 w/SP1 in SharePoint (SharePoint 2013) mode according to these instructions
here. Everything went just fine during the install.
When I create a an SSRS report and preview it in Visual Studio, the report looks great. When I upload that report to a SharePoint library, the report does not return any data and all I see are black X's where all the report controls should be. No drop down
menus and the tool bar across the top of the report does not display correctly.
I've been combing through the ULS and IIS logs and all that I have found are 404's in the IIS logs. I see 404's for each control image that the report is trying to render. Example below.
    2014-10-14 16:43:41 XX.XX.XXX.XX GET /URL/URL/Reserved.ReportViewerWebPart.axd OpType=Resource&Version=11.0.3000.0&Name=Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.Icons.Refresh.gif 80 0#.w|domain\user XX.XX.XXX.XX Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+6.3;+WOW64;+Trident/7.0;+.NET4.0E;+.NET4.0C;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.0.30729;+InfoPath.3)

    Any ideas?

  • Reporting Services on Windows7

My Report Manager Home page is "almost" blank!!!
All I see is: SQL Server Reporting Services,Home,Home, My Subscriptions, Help
Anyone any ideas on how I get the rest of the page back?  I'm running SS2005 on Windows 7. The solution below can't be done for there is no check box to uncheck in Directory Security.
Old Solution: 1. Goto IIS Manager (inetmgr) then uncheck the 'Allow annonymous access' in the Directory security of my Report virtual directory.2. Open IE and load up the Report webpage, it should be okay by now3. Goto Properties tab of the Report webpage,
give access permission to NT AUTHORITY\IUSR and re-enable anonymous access from inetmgr

    Hi MyCharles32,
According to your description, when you access report manger, the page display almost blank.
In Reporting Services 2005, when accessing the report manager, we should create a role assignment for the user, so that the user can get full permission to access the report manager. In your scenario, please check if you have create a role assignment for
the user to access report manager. If issue persists, you can disable Enable anonymous access feature in IIS manager and only check Integrated Windows Authentication. Then please add report manager site to the Trusted Sites zone in the IE browser and run the
    IE as administrator.

  • Downloading Reports from a Dashboard

In normal reports you have the option to download any report to excel for example. In a dashboard you only have the "Printer Friendly" option. I noticed in the pre-built dashboards that each individual report has a "download" feature, but when creating reports for my custom dashboard the "download" or "printer friendly" option isn't shown for each report. Does anyone know how to add this feature to my reports?
    Thanks,
    Brent

    Hello Brent
I think you'll find this option when you design the dashbord and include each reports in it.
In the dashboard design page, on the report box, you have click on Properties > Report Links (in the middle of Display Result, Show View and Modify Request). You'll here be able to specify if you also want the refresh, printer friendly and/or download options.
You'll have to do it for each report you include in your dashboards.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • Report to show unmapped entries in MapID context

    I'm using TCS2 in WinXP.
    Robohelp v. 8.0.2.208
Is there a report that will show me any entries that are not mapped in terms of the context sensitive map ids? I found the reports that show the used MapIDs and broken topic mapIDs...
I need this report b/c I think that the mapID file doesn't update by itself, i.e. if you delete something that is tagged in a context sensitive mapID file it doesn't just un-assign and delete itself, you have to manually edit the map ID file, and then manually add any new items that need to be included in the mapID file.
    Thanks!
    Adriana

The Topic Properties report can be customised to include / exclude various things, including map ids.
If you delete a topic, the map id goes with it. Tagging excludes a topic from a build, it does not delete the topic from the project.
