Proper software install order for MS-6341
What is the proper order for loading chipset drivers, etc. after installing the windows 2000 professional operating system for the MS-6341 motherboard ??
Does the 4 in 1 drivers include everything that has to be install for proper operation and what boxes should be installed during the 4 in 1 install or is it necessary to install the AGP software assuming an AGP video card is being used ??
Thanks.
i work for a small oem computer company and we found that if we install the 4in1 first and then the sound and then finally the video. does it make a difference? not sure but thats how we do it. hope it helps. almost forgot.... if it is a via northbridge chip then yes install the agp driver, even with on board video you will want to install it. usually running it with default boxes checked is the best.

Is there any way to check a software install disk for damage?
Is there any way I can check a DVD software install disk for damage?
Yes the disk, at least the main one, is O.K. I guess what I'm trying to determine here is whether or not my Logic Pro Studio install disks are corrupted in any way because, on my system Logic behaves in quite a glitchy manner, something that other Logic users (at least on the Logic Forums) are not experincing. I've narrowed it down to a software issue but I've yet to detemine if this is an OS problem, a Logic problem or something else. What mitigates against the idea that this is an OS problem is that anything other than Audio programs on my system runs fine. But audio programs, particularly Logic, are having problems. A reinstallation of Logic solved nothing which is why I suspected that there may be something wrong with the program install disks. But the program does install and it does 95% of what its supposed to do. The disks are clean and have no scratches.

Win XP Pro drivers and install order for Qosmio E10
Hello,
I bought recently Qosmio E10 in Korea. The OS is Korean Win XP Home. I would like to change it, so I guess I have two options:
1. Get a restore CD in English. But I read that Toshiba has the strange rule not to give restore CD with different language. I wrote them, they don't answer for now.
2. Install Win XP Pro myself (I have only this license). The issue in this case is to be able to get all the drivers I need. I found good drivers on several locations:
On http://www.toshiba.co.kr, but I worry that these drivers are for Korean XP.
The other place is http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
In this place, most of the drivers are for Media Center edition. There are drivers for XP Pro, but they are not so many and there is no install order. For example, there is no NVidia driver, while such driver is available for the media center. Maybe I can use Media center drivers on XP Pro?
So my question is: What drivers I have to use and and what order to get a proper working XP Pro. It would be nice to know where to download QosmioUI. I found the Linux player and I will install it, but I want also to have the player in Windows.Hello
As far as I know the software is bundled on notebook and if you buy a notebook you buy automatically OS and license to use it. That means that you can not order a recovery DVD on another language. Qosmio E10 is delivered with Windows MCE2004 SP1a.
The only possibility is to install Microsoft Windows XP OS (full version, with or without MCE), and then you must install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities separately.
For English language you can find them on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com under Support & Downloads.

Install order for GC 10.2.0.3.0
Hi,
I read install notes for GC 10.2.0.3.0 and I am confused. Did I understand this order correctly (I have an existing DB 10.2.0.3 on AIX 5.3, but no GC-repo ):
- numbering as of release note:
2.1 install GC 10.2.0.1.0 into new DB
2.2 aplly patch 4329444
2.3 Install Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 3
2.4 skipped, I don't have a repository so far in my original DB and don't need to upgrade the new created Repository.
3. upgrade GC 10.2.0.X.0 to 10.2.0.3.0
3.3 = 2.3 do I have to install it again ?
4. what is the differrence to step 3. ? Looks like I don't need that ?
When do I install the repository into my original DB ? after all the steps as above ?
I guess, after all I can drop the instance created in step 2.1 ?
thanks for sorting out the correct order, LaoDeInto new Database means your GC repository will be installed into a new Oracle database that will be created alongside the install. So you will have a second instance different from your existing 10.2.0.3 instance. With this option, you do not have to create a database. The installation will do it with the parameters you give it(e.g name)
Into existing Database means you specify that GC repository is installed into your 10.2.0.3 instance without creating a new database. In this case you must have created a database to give the installer as a parameter during install. -
Correct install order for CS4 and CS5 on 32-bit system?
I have CS5 (Master Collection) to install on a 32-bit Windows XP system.
As the CS5 versions of both Premier Pro and After Effects require a 64-bit edition of Windows, included in the disc set are CS4 versions of those programs for this purpose.
What, if any, is the preferred install order? I am inclined to install the CS4's first, assuming the CS5 install will overwrite/update some shared components.
Should I install the CS4's first, CS5 first, or will it make no difference? The right procedure is installation of CS4 first then CS5.

Need Vista install order for Satellite A300-1HV
Hello, could anyone give me or point me to the Vista installation order for a A300-1HV (drivers and utils)
Many thanks.I installed all drivers and apps as above, using latest versions for my particular hardware.
Regarding the Robson Drivers for the Intel AHCI - Advanced Host Controller Interface for the SATA disk:
With AHCI turned on in the BIOS I needed to extract Robson Package v1.5.0.1013 onto a USB key (the only version I could extract from exe), then use this when partitioning at the start of Vista install by clicking 'Load Driver' and browsing to the USB key and then the Driver folder.
NOTE: If you don't do this and AHCI is switched on in the BIOS then the installation will hang at the 'Completing Installation' stage.
Once Vista is installed and SP1 installed, when you install the Robson driver again from the list above you can use the latest version.
The latest TVAP v1.1.9 did not install and came up with a 'GetProfString is Failed' error, so I installed v1.1.4 ok.
Only one issue was the media buttons did not seem to work correctly. The following link fixed the left most 'dimmer' button and the 'media player' button. The rest, control buttons then worked as expected.
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=127192🃘
I installed Vista Home Premium first and then I had Vista SP1 on disk which I installed. Then rebooted after every driver and application install to make it clean as possible.
The entire process was done without internet connection, wireless was switched on but I never connected to my LAN. All drivers and apps were loaded from a USB key following Vista SP1 installation.
Next stage was to install AntiVirus and then connect to Internet and allow Vista to install all required updates.
There are 3 drivers that Microsoft is offering me. The first time I tried this installation I installed these and I started to get warning messages upon my WLAN connecting, but these disappeared when I disabled my LAN device.
I AM NOT INSTALLING THESE, I shall wait for updates from Toshiba. - If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
All functionality appears to work correctly.
(p.s. My Vista gets a 4.0 average in the Windows Experience Index. I can't remember the exact results but obviously 4.0 was the lowest and there were a few 5.x's in there)
Hope this may help someone. -
Install order for FCS, FCPX and Lion
Hi,
I currently have FCS3 and Snow Leopard installed on my iMac with all updates. I want to install FCPX and LION on the same partition as FCS3 so I can still use the other apps.
Should I install FCPX or Lion first, or does it not matter?
Many thanksOK - I have both Lion and FCPX on my iMac and it works. I thought you also wanted to keep Snow Leopard as well. I use Super Duper to back up my two Macs. I think I should also have kept a backup coy of Snow Leopard on one back up copy - as I backed each up AFTER upgrading to LIon! So far though I really like Lion! All my problems have been with FCPX. I am not sure if it worked better on Snow leopard than it does now on LIon. Others can tell you that
Incidentally, the best advice I have seen is that whilst FCX is on your iMac drive you should not keep all your import files on the internal drive. I am keeping mine on a 1 TB Firewire 800 Western Digital. This seems to work fine so far! -
C310 series scanner software unavailable for Maverick
Since I upgraded my OS to Maverick the past spring, I haven't been able to use the HP scan application that came with the all-in-one printer. After waiting for so long, I checked it again this afternoon and thought that that should be updated after such a long period. However, the HP scan application just crashed and displayed a message that the old version didn't work with the current OS. Therefore I followed the instructions of "Installing Your HP Printer Driver and Software for Mac OS X" to uninstall the old version and add the printer to the list. While I'm able to print, but I still CANNOT scan.
I tried to solve the issue by following this page: Scan from OS X v10.9 Mavericks Without HP Software for HP Multifunction Printers, but none of the three options worked for me. Indeed I was told that the scanner software is not installed, but that software is NOT available for download. Remember, the original HP scan application that came from the package doesn't work with the current OS.
It's very frustrating at this point. Do I need to purchase another scanner at this point? If I do, I know I will NOT choose HP any more.
Thanks for the help!Hello @WantToScan,
I would like to assist you further with the scan issue you're experiencing on your Mac OS X 10.9 Operating System when trying to scan to your HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One Printer. Now I understand by your prior post, that you have already ran through the standard troubleshooting steps to no avail. At this point I will be offering additional troubleshooting steps for you to run through to resolve this issue. Now, HP has not released a downloadable Full Feature Software and Driver for your printer since Mac OS X 10.8. There will not be a downloadable Full Feature Software and Driver download for Mac OS X 10.9, nor Mac OS X 10.10. However, the HP drivers are available for your HP Printer via the Apple Updates and you should still have full product functionality. With that being said, please run through the steps below to resolve your issue.
If using a USB Cable connection, please disconnect that cable now.
Step 1: Uninstall Drivers and Software:
In order for us to have a nice clean slate to work with, I am going to start by having you Reset the Print System on your Mac and uninstall every trace of your HP printer from your computer.
First, please click here and run through the steps provided on how to Reset the Print System. When the page opens just run the steps for 'Resetting the printing system in OS X Lion' as they are the same for Mac OS X 10.9. Resetting the Print System will remove every printer from your Mac computer. However, it does not uninstall the printers. Therefore, should you use other printers on your Mac simply ensure that they are plugged in with a USB Cable or Network connected and (+) Add them back in. Do not add your HP Photosmart back in at this time.
Once the Reset is complete, please click here to run through the uninstall steps. When the page opens, select the dropdown for 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8, and OS X v10.9'. Next, click on Method two. Run through the steps to complete the uninstall of your device. Once the uninstall is complete, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
Go to the Utilities Folder
Open the Disk Utility
Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
Select Verify Disk Permissions
Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
If using a USB Cable connection, please connect that cable now. If your device is Networked, ensure your printer is ON.
Go to Apple
Select System Preferences
Select Software Update
Click Update Now
Install your available updates
Restart your computer
Step 4: Add your Printer:
1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
2. Click Print & Scan, check if the name of your printer displays in the Printers list.
3. Do the following, depending on if the printer is listed or not:
If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm communication with the Mac. Click the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer. Once the printer is removed, click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer
If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer
4. Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Ensure that you select the appropriate Photosmart driver and not the AirPrint driver as the AirPrint driver is just a generic print driver.
5. Click Add to add the printer to the list.
6. Close Print & Scan
Now, please try to print and scan again to verify if your issue is resolved.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you!

Do I HAVE TO download the itunes software in order to purchase songs? HELP!
I have a 12 yr old who has been very patient. She just got the Creative Zen Sleek player, we have XP Pro, the Zen already has it's own "organizer player".
Do I really have to have the itunes software in order for my daughter to purchase and transfer the songs to her player?
I have been at this all day, upgrading software, upgrading hardware, I thought I would have been done by now..so she can actually use it and not just for FM stations!
anybody!! Please help a frazzled mom and very patient daughter!!!Since you have gift certificates for iTunes, you will download from iTunes. iTunes is a free program. Download it here:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now, correct me if I am wrong, but you can only use iPods on iTunes. So when you let your daughter go into iTunes, click on iTunes Music store on the left side, then click "redeem Gift Certificates,"
type in the code on the certificate, and choose your songs.
(Note: Under iTunes Help it says that Music downloaded from the site can only be used on iTunes and iPods - I do not think this is true)
The songs, once they have downloaded, will be in the music library.
Now you must download a different music program. For ease, I would say download Realplayer - www.realplayer.com
it is not as nice as iTunes, but iTunes will not work.
In realplayer look for "Import to Library"
Then look for the file under which the music files you downloaded are saved.
It should be:
C drive > My Music > iTunes > Library
and it should all be there.
If you are not sure where the files were saved to, then in iTunes go to
Prefrences > Advanced > General > iTunes Music Folder Location
That is were the files were saved.
Now back in realplayer, select the folder that the files are in, and clikc import.
The song files should now be in the realplayer library too.
Connect your Creative Zen, and realplayer should reconize it, and off you go.
(This is not as confusing as it looks)
Good Luck and If you are confused, just ask. -

Where can i get proper software for Audigy 2 Z
i bought an audigy 2 zs and it came without any software bundled. i've been searching all night everywhere, including the creative/soundblaster websites for the proper software, but can't find any. all i could find was web updates that needed the previous version of the software to be installed, which i obviously dont have. after downloading and installing a bunch of stuff i finall got something to work.
In Device Manager I have Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM) listed. But that's not Audigy 2 ZS right? In the Speaker Settings I can only go up to 6., but doesn't the ZS support up to 7. I'm quite confused and frustrated. Please help! Thanks!Did you buy the soundcard separate from your PC and if you did:
OEMs come ship with an Applications & Drivers disc and joystick panel.
OEM SI you buy straight from a systems integrator and they give you NOTHING except for the card itself.
If your soundcard came with your PC like Dell (using that as an example) it would most likely be an OEM SI and uses Manufacturer drivers instead of Creative's drivers in order to insure compatibility. Some SIs also like to tweak the soundcard to suit the PC they're building. If your PC is like that you should go straight to the manufacturer and ask for the necessary drivers. Also by software I assume you mean the drivers and MediaSource right? If you bought a true OEM the disc would come with those things. Creative also DOES NOT support OEM SIs because they are manufacturer's responsibility as well as OEMs but a lot of times the drivers here on the website are compatible especially with true OEMs. I have an Audigy 2 ZS OEM and I'm using the updated drivers on this site but I agree Creative should offer COMPLETE downloads because even retail customers lose their Installation CD. It would save them (both Creative and the customers) the hassle of getting a new CD and improve customer relations.
