Properties missing from Organize Bookmarks

I'm unable to access the properties in Organize Bookmarks even though I'm able to access them in Bookmarks sidebar. I prefer using Organize Bookmarks vs Bookmarks sidebar. I'm not sure how soon after upgrading to Firefox 3 I started having this problem since I don't use the bookmark properties a great deal.
I've been advised that a panel on the right side of the Organize Bookmarks should appear when selecting a folder or bookmark as I remembered it working previously, but it is not there.
This problem persists when all add-ons are turned off as on option through Safe Mode boot, but the panel still didn't appear. If I boot directly into Safe Mode the panel appears.
Also no handle appear to open such a panel.
Thanks for the help

In the Bookmarks Manager you can make the changes in the Details (Properties) pane at the bottom right.
There is no need to open the Properties via the context menu.<br />
That Info pane has a More/Less button to make extra properties show up.
* You can change the Properties (including the name) of a Bookmark or Tag in the Details (Properties) pane at the bottom of the right pane in the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks: Shift+Ctrl+B) after selecting an item. You can rename a tag by selecting the Tags folder in the left panel and change the name in the Info pane at the bottom right.
* You can make changes to a Bookmark in the Bookmarks menu drop down list or in the side bar (View > Sidebar > Bookmarks, Ctrl+B) via the Properties entry in the right-click context menu.
* You can open a bookmark in a tab and click the yellow (blue on Mac) star in the location bar to open the "Edit This Bookmark" pop-up.

Firefox 2 versions use the file bookmarks.html to store the bookmarks.

  • Properties missing from the right click menu of web.xml file

I am using JDeveloper version Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0 on Ubuntu 10.
I want to configure security for my webapplication. When I right click on web.xml , to navigate to properties, the properties is missing from the menu.
Is this removed or a bug in this version of JDeveloper?I am new to this forum and not sure how to upload the screen shot. Can some one help me uploading it?
Also is there a way to file an issue for bugs like these?
    Thanks
    Sreekanth

    HI,
I saw it in a previous version of JDeveloper.I am new to this JDev world and I am in to a training where the instructor was asking me to do security config setting using the context menu on the web.xml file.
This is the installation file that the instructor has given : jdevstudio11110install.exe. I guess it is some other minor patch release of JDeveloper to what I am using. I am using Linux on my laptop, so I downloaded the version I am using and setup the environment on my own and found it missing .
If JDev engineering team could confirm that this is not an issue , let's mark this as answered. :-)
    Thanks

  • I'm missing the "Organize Bookmarks..." feature under the Bookmarks tab. How do I get this feature, so that I may Import and Export my favorites?

In the past this feature was available, because I have imported my favorites from IE and have exported the information for back up reasons. I've noticed that since I've upgrade Firefox, I no longer have this option. I don't want to reinstall (if I don't have to) in fear of losing newly acquired bookmarks.

That menu item was renamed to '''Show All Bookmarks''' in Firefox 4.0.

  • Folders missing from Bookmarks after update to Firefox 9

    First, system info:
    I'm on Mac OS 10.5.8
I was using Firefox 3 until yesterday when I updated to 9. Had no apparent problems with bookmarks after the update but I had not closed the session; it was only after starting up this morning that all my bookmark folders are missing from the Bookmarks Menu.
I've been through all the "lost bookmarks" sections of Firefox - no answers there to my specific problem.
Most of them focus on bookmarks being completely missing - but in my case it's only the Folders that are missing.
Here are at least some of the pages I've looked at and been through all the suggestions that were relevant:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Lost%20Bookmarks
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks#Bookmarks_missing_after_restarting
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/common-questions-after-upgrading-firefox-36
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/latest-firefox-issues
There was a momentary power-down yesterday, but the folders were still there when the power came back on, so that's not it.
There was one anomaly with the way my bookmarks WERE. That is, when I selected Bookmarks from the top navigation bar, go down the drop-down past Bookmarks Toolbar, instead of all my folders being displayed there, I'd have to go to Bookmarks Menu and then to a side panel of the Menu which showed a
folder saying All Bookmarks and from there I'd have to go to another side panel that opened off that to access the list of all my folders and run down to select one. This strange functionality came after some previous update, never could fix that and got no help with it. So I just put up with having more mouse work to get to my sites.
This is a serious problem for me - I am in training on SEO, internet marketing, Wordpress, etc plus running another business. EVERYTHING I rely upon for my work was meticulously organized into those folders, which now
    seem to be gone.
Are there any seriously technical people in Firefox/Mozilla who can go deeper than the stuff suggested on their websites?

You can make a backup copy of all JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder to be sure not to lose any of them. There should be 10 in Firefox 9 versions.
On (newer) Mac OS X versions with the Time Machine there is the possibility to restore an older copy of the places.sqlite file. I don't know if that is possible on your computer.

  • I do not have 'Organize Bookmarks' in my bookmarks menu. Help?

All the Firefox help instructions refer to 'Organize Bookmarks' on the Bookmarks menu, but I don't have that sub-menu since I upgraded to Firefox 4.0! I do have a Bookmarks menu but it is just missing that 'Organize Bookmarks' on the menu.
I'm using Firefox 4.0 on Windows Vista.

Thanks. That did work. Who'd have thought that 'Show All Bookmarks' would do it? I didn't try that because I had visions of my complete bookmarks list, including all the sub-folders, would appear. I have way too many bookmarks, I admit.
    Thanks again.

  • In xp sp3, Organize Bookmarks missing in bookmarks menu? Cannot manage bookmarks. Pls. advise solution. Thxs.

Recently installed 4.0 in 2 computers & noticed that the Organize Bookmarks option in the bookmarks menu is missing.

In Firefox 4, using the Firefox button:
*click on the word "Bookmarks" will display the Library window (old: Organize Bookmarks, new: Show all Bookmarks)
*click on the arrow to the right of the word "Bookmarks" will display the drop-down list (like the old "Bookmarks" on the Menu Bar; and "Show all Bookmarks" is shown there which will also open the Library window)
The structure of the menu has changed and some of the wording/descriptions changed by the developers.

  • There is no "Organize Bookmarks" on my Bookmark tab and I don't know how to import html bookmarks from old computer, which is now dead, per the instructions.

I saved my old bookmarks as part of my regular backup from my old computer. It died this week and I just bought a new computer. The instructions for importing an html file with bookmarks says to open the Organized Bookmarks tab under Bookmarks. My computer does not have this bookmark and I can't find anywhere else how to import the html file with my old bookmarks. The old computer used Windows XP and this one has Windows 7.

"Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in the bookmarks menu. The rest of the instructions will be the same.

  • My catalogues and tags are missing from my Organizer in Photoshop Elements 10? What is going on?

My catalogues and tags are missing from my Organizer in Elements 10. What is going on?

Thank you for the advice. I have a PC and the catalogs were for the most part where you said they would be, on the C drive under Program Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs. The last six months folder as well as a cruise I took in 2012 is missing but the rest seems to be there. Now I seem to have two Organizers-the one I just found and the one I created with my March 2013 trip pictures. How do I put them together and find them when I click on the Photoshop elements Organizer icon? You mentioned “pointing “ PSE to it in the default mode? How do I do that?

  • What happened to the Organize Bookmarks feature it's missing?

  • The bookmarks button is missing from the navigation tool bar. When I right click and select customize it appears and when I click done on the customization box button, it disappears.

The bookmarks button is missing from the navigation toolbar. It appears when I right click on the navigation and click customize. As soon as I close the customization window it disappears again. I can no longer access the library to back up my bookmarks. Why did you change it from Firefox 3 where you could clock on the bookmarks tab and be able to backup your bookmarks?

Actually the Bookmarks Menu button doesn't appear because you have the Menu Bar visible in your first screenshot. The Bookmarks Menu button should appear to the right of the overflow chevron on the Bookmarks Toolbar if the Menu Bar is hidden.

I have tried the usual suspects to no avail - the item remains stubbornly hidden

It's called "Show All Bookmarks" now. You can also open it by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+B

  • Some Bookmarks Missing from Toolbar

Recently about 1/3 of my toolbar bookmarks will not show up on the actual toolbar. When I go to Bookmarks and then Bookmarks Toolbar, the last three are missing. However, when I go to Bookmarks and then Organize Bookmarks, the missing ones still appear under the folder here. I've tried readding them to the toolbar but when I restart firefox they go missing again.

    There are a couple possibilities:
    # There are too many bookmarks in your toolbar, so some are hidden. (Check the dropdown menu at the end of the bookmarks toolbar to see if they're here)
    # There may be a problem with the toolbar settings. Launch Firefox in [[Safe Mode]], choose '''Reset toolbars and controls''', and press '''Make changes and restart'''.

  • Cut bookmarks folder, unable to paste, folder now missing from favorites, how to recover?

    Hi,
Sometime ago, I created a bookmarks folder in Firefox Bookmarks and added a lot of bookmarks into it. Today, I wanted to cut the folder, which I apparently did, and paste it into a Windows 7 folder. When I tried to paste the folder, the paste command was not highlighted for use. I went back to Firefox and my bookmarks folder is gone from Bookmarks. So where is it. How do I recover my folder of bookmarks? Using Firefox 3.6.13.

If you have not closed Firefox, open the bookmarks library (in the Bookmarks menu select Organize Bookmarks), then in the library select Organize > Undo.
If you have already closed Firefox, or the Undo option is not available, you can restore one of the automatic bookmark backups (Firefox creates backups of the bookmarks for the last 5 days that it was used). For details of how to do that see the "restoring from backups" section of the [[Backing up and restoring bookmarks]] article.
