At it's core, it's a filtering system for Spotlight results. However, the system goes deeper than that; it allows for searching through all applications without launching them, a file system for iOS, a Siri-like experience from Spotlight, a way to get your information quickly in order to get back what you were doing.

I am putting together a proposal for a Final Cut Pro Workstation to use with a tapeless HD camera. Can anyone suggest the best camera (in the 5-10,000 dollar range) ? What hardware and software should I include in the package?
This is quite an open suggestion, but here are some ideas which might get you started. There are good HD cameras in your price range from Sony, Panasonic and Canon (and maybe other manufacturers). Tapeless formats vary. I have only worked with Sony XDCAM which seems pretty good to me. File sizes for material shot at 35MBS are not too huge and, with the free Sony transfer and conversion programme, are easy to bring into the computer via USB direct from the camera or from a fairly inexpensive converter. The Sony XDCAM EX3 can produce results well up to broadcast quality.
As to hardware, you'll need a powerful MAC - iMac, Macbook Pro or MacPro with 4GB or more of RAM and a good video card. Softwarewise, FCPX is quite a bit cheaper than FC Studio 3 and of course it's 64bit and can make better use of multi-core machines than FCP7. It's also designed to handle HD formats with less hassle than FCP7 and is matched to the latest versions of Motion and Compressor. But you'd probably be wise to search reviews of FCPX before you make your choice - it has some issues.
A good HD monitor will be essential and, for colour correction etc, you may want to consider a second monitor or HD TV foe editing. ( A MacPro is generally the best machine to connect a second monitor to).
This should give you a good editing system, but there are many other things you could add (Photoshop, professional sound monitors, etc)

Hae you tried to do a hard reset of your phone? This will not lose any data. Hold the sleep/wake button and the home button until the phone turns off ignoring any slide to power off messages. Then power the phone back on.

My iPhone has crashed and i went to iTunes to restore it and after waiting for it to be restored it said "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2006). Can anybody please help suggest what i should do now?

I have a 2 yr old Iphone 4 and have not backed up or connected to Itunes up for 1 yr. I have new Windows 7 computer and want to connect and copy Itunes backed up folder from external HD (a year ago) to new computer and install new Itunes and new IOS. What steps should I take and what precautions? I don't want to lose any data on my phone such as music, photos, contacts, notes, texts etc, nor lose music from prior backed up Itune folder. I updated my iPhone 4S to the new IOS 6 I like it but the problem I found the Wifi button it's not working any more it looks hidden , so what I should do to solve this issue ASAP
Tap Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if fixed. If not, Restore Firmware with iTunes on computer. See if fixed. If not, all iPhone 4S have Warranty, make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

What display should I get for my macbook pro?
Hey Guys. I think this is in the correct section.
So I have a Macbook Pro (specs at the bottom) and I am looking to add an external monitor to use as a second monitor and at other times a screen for my playstation. I have never had a monitor before so not sure how big? What resolution? What ppi? HD, UHD, 4K? Someone said something about refresh rate. I have no idea what that is. None of this stuff I know.
Obviously I want the best screen I can have and I would connect my Macbook to it by HDMI using a Thunderbolt to HDMI converter and connect my ps3 to it by HDMI.
What is the highest resolution a HDMI/Thunderbolt can handle?
What screen should I get?
Also I connected it up to my TV once and if I put my mouse at the bottom of the screen and then moved it onto my macbook screen it disapeared and didn't appear again until I moved it up and I don't want this problem

If it is unchecked exception (not forced by javac to be caught by callers), then extend it from RuntimeException or subclass of it. Exceptions are serializable objects and so have serialVersionID field. You will need to set it up as a new phone, not from a backup, first. Then, after setup is complete, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi and have at least 50% battery power. After then update downloads and installs, you can go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
This will let you go through the setup again, and this time you can choose your backup. -

AR drums are complete resource (CPU) hogs. They work better if you turn off as many of the AR internal plugins as you can.
See section 4 (?) of the AR manual, which you can find within Kontakt (In the library area of Kontakt click hold the small "i" on the right of the "AR drummer" Library).
Alternatively, your only solution is to increase the I/O buffer in Preferences:Audio, with the associated increase in latency

What class should I extend for this custom control?
The code below is my attempt at a mxml control to replace a custom context-menu that my app needs on certain textInput controls. Characters not on the keyboard are inserted into the text, replacing any selection, if applicable. Flex AIR apps (which I need for local access to SQLite) don't let me do custom contextmenus when the control is not top-level.
The custom component is encapsulated now in a Panel but I would like to have the composite control be nothing more than a textInput and a PopUpMenuButton right next to it. Is that possible—not to have a container? If so, what class should I extend, if creating this as an ActionScript component?

For professional 'look' care for the other stuff :
tripod with 'fluid head', lights, more lights, ND filters set, ext. microphone(s) at last a shotgun and a lav, ext audio recorder (I'm abusing my ol' iPhone4 and a tiny box called iRig, which offer XLR connector), did I mention lights? , a good bag and a waterproof, lockable aluminium box, soft boxes for light, maybe a shoulder rig (starting at 80€), 200sq ft of some green cloth for green screening (if your school doesn't offer a 'studio') FCPX does marvel with even really bad lighted green screens, those handy foldable 'brighteners'/reflectors, to bounce light ('Rembrandt lightning') … finally tons of odds and ends, starting with gaffer tape, ending with SDcards ...
And DO things, try things, play with your stuff, make experiments just for the trash bin!
