Oracle financial application and oracle 8i problem

Every one,
I install the oracle financial appliation and oracle 8i,
it give following error messages
" TNSLSNR.EXE unable to locate dll
the dynamic link library orancrypt8.dll could not find path
G:\oracle\bin............ "
oracle financial application successfuly installed.
I installed nt 4 service pack 6a,
I start the " owsctl start wrb "
" owsctl start admin "
owsctl start <listener> already start.
Please inform me what is the problem ? what step I am missing
during running the oracle financial application ?
How I could install and run the oracle financial application ?
any one can inform me about the steps of installation and runing
of oracle financial application ?
secondly, oracle 8i is also not working, it give error messange

The sofware that I use 4 this purposal is MS RegClean and it's woorking fine if U don't like 2 do that manualy.

BPC 7.0: Consolidation in financial application but with errors

Hello
Currently we consolidate with an FXConsol data package in a financial application type. We did not want to create a consolidation application type, as any eliminations are not necessary. But adding all company values up to a group value is essential.
However, putting all numbers together with the FXConsol package is working, but nevertheless the log details show an error - no instruction retrieved from ELIM table.
Is it possible to let FXConsol finish without showing an error in a financial application? Or is it better to use FXTrans with an additional formula?

Hi Melanie,
There is some inconsistency which has come up during the entire process. If you can please let me know the exact steps you have followed, that would be great.
The main problem, I see, is with the argument list of the SPRUNCONSO. Check the parameters of SPRUNCONSO in the database and match it with the arguments using which you are invoking the stored procedure. There is some mismatch between these 2 places.
Since the requirement, based on your previous post, was just to have another copy, I would suggest you to create copy of the specific function and rename it, instead of creating the copy of the entire .lgl file.
1. In your script logic, change the statement RunConsolidation(parameters) to RunCon(parameters).
2. In the file AAG_System_Library.lgl, copy from
*SUB Runconsolidation(......
*ENDSUB
and paste it at the end of the same file.
3. Change Runconsolidation to RunCon
4. Make the desired changes in this function.
So, this process will create a new function runcon and you can modify it as required. This function can be refered in your script file and this should work absolutely fine.

I am facing some issues in Workspace because of OS (Windows 7). I am trying to access the App wizard directly from the application wizard URL(http://localhost:9000/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp). Please correct me, if i wrong, I am creating classic application (Project Financial Planning), why i go to Workspace. Please suggest me. I dont have any other Planning application in my laptop. I am trying to create PFP as first application to do R&D work.

Customizing Oracle Financial Application

We have upgraded from 10.7 to 11i. And I need to bring some old custom forms that were used in 10.7 to 11i. Please let me know how can I do that.
And also I need to know what needs to be done to set up Forms developer 6i for Financial application cutomization. We were able to install the developer 6i but can't find the TEMPLATE.fmb any where.

Financial Applications

Hi,
Just out of curiosity, what types of applications do Java Developers create for investment banks, the financial industry, credit area, etc...? I'm going to have my B.S. in Computer Science completed by May 2008, and I'm already getting offers from companies looking for "Java Developers" offering between $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 Per/Year. The companies that are looking for programmers, and are offering this type of pay and other large bonuses, are in the financial industry, so I'm curious to know what types of applications and projects these developers work on.
Since I'm completing my degree in just over a year, I'm in the process of putting together a portfolio, and it would probably help if I can show I'm capable of developing applications for these types of companies. So in my spare time, I would like to develop one or more of these types of applications the showcase my skillset to these types of companies.
Since this is the biggest site on the internet for Java Developers, I'm sure there are several people who work in this industry, or atleast who have knowledge of the projects/applications they work on.

the showcase my skillset to these types of companies.With a BS in CS you don't have to prove that you can program.
I think you instead should concentrate on statistics & probability. The introductory courses offered in a normal CS program won't do. Look for intermediate courses covering stochastic processes and bayesan networks and such.
I think you should also take some applied courses like statistical methods in finance and portfolio theory etcetera.
Another important area is visualization I think. There's so much financial data produced that has to densed down, characterized and presented.
It's much easier to get this grounding now when you're in university than it is later on the job. It's much better to get a strong financial/computer profile in your exam than diverting your energies on some programs you write at the side.

Error while creating financial application

i have installed hyperion 11.1.1.4 on windows server 2008 R2, with sql server 2005 as my database server. when i login into workspace and tried to create the HFM appication iam getting the following error.

Financial Application Database Security in iOS 3 and iOS 4

I have been looking from a long time for the Security Difference between iOS 3 and iOS 4. I have gone through with various official document but could not find the worth answer.
Why did apple enhanced the security level in iOS 4 by using "NSFileProtectionComplete"?
Was the data not secure earlier in iOS 3??
What if the user has not upgraded to iOS 4,will the financial info of the user be not secure in iOS 3??
If it is secure then please justify.

It's the same thing for new devices that are only initialized ad synced in my iTunes.

AIM is "Application Implementation Methodology" used to oracle e-business suite implementation. it give us a set of templated documents for each phase.
The methodology includes a large quantity of documents and an approach to making the implementation successful. Part of that approach is the "gap analysis", and this word "gap" is not an acronym in this case, nor does it mean "General Accounting Principles". "Gap" only refers to discovering the differences (or gaps) between a client's current business processes and those processes offered by a vanilla Oracle implementation. Once discovered, the gaps should either be accepted or resolved. In some cases, the resolution involves customizations of the Oracle product, but if the client is smart, they will modify their business processes to use standard, vanilla Oracle processes.

Nobody was able to give me an answer.
I asked people who work in this field and even asked them to check with their friends. Nobody gave me an answer.
I even sent an email to Oracle. Larry was too busy keeping an eye on gates to respond to me. I called Oracle. Nobody knew or pretended to know anything.
So I came to the conclusion that this must be the most closely guarded secret, vital for our national security, since WWII. So I gave up.
If you had any better luck, let me know.
PS. One person did have a cynical answer. He said Larry competes with private individuals for services. A private person maybe happy to bill $100-$150/hr (which is not bad money for an individual) against Larry's much higher billing (which is not that high for corporations) . According to this person Larry wanted a little less competition for his boys.
I don't know if that makes sense, but that was the only comment anybody gavbe me so far.

There is no support for JDBC in J2ME, so u have to write server code which will access the database and send the result to the mobile.
This is useful in other ways also, you can reduce the amount of data exchanged between client and server. and if u need change(like DB url or schema) u dont have to change it in every client app. it will be enough if u change it in server alone.
