now youtube "blocks" copyrighted material to certain "countries" that apparently have stricter "laws" about it ( like Germany I think is one of them )... For example, in "my little xmas tree" I used music from the internet ( Burl Ives singing "have a holly jolly xmas ". The metadata in the soundfile included that copyright ID stuff ( artist info etc was displayed on youtube under the window to play the video ).
Since that was my first " movie" with music like that I decided to go through the process of getting the right to use it....and phoned the publisher ( got info from library of congress or something...as ASCAP only does live useage...but ascap guys were helpful giving me links to find publisher and copyright owner ( there are 2 entities in this song's case to get permission from ) ...
Anyway, as I say, I went through the process and the NYC publisher asked me for an email with details etc and they never got back to me.... was during the holidays so who knows why....but basically I think it was such a stupid non entity "video" that they didn't want to bother with me....
But that video was blocked from Germany I'm pretty sure....
With new IP law it could be that it would then be blocked from the US as well. Also, maybe youtube wouldnt be able to have a checkbox for " private" viewing ( only those with URL can see video )...
Who knows.

You saved it after setting the Password? :
Inspector > Document > Document > Require Password to Open
I just tested it and it shows up ijn The Finder with a padlock on the file icon and does require a password to open.

I "protected" my External HDs in 'Ownership and Permissions" whilst my grandkids were wanting to "play" on my G5, but I must have overdone it because now I can't see them on my Desktop to UN-protect them! Can anybody help get 'em back, please?

How multiple secure zones act now?

I give trial membership on the site, it gives 30 days of access, when it finishes the users subscription to that zone ends and he gets asigned to regular secure zone access again (this tick in customer subscribtions tab disapears automatically). At least that's how it was before if I remember right. So has something been changed to secure zone handling and administration or was it always this way?
The biggest problem I now face is that when trial zone expires customer can't login at all, even though his other regular secure zone (which expires: never) is asigned to him. I use smart login form with redirect page that decides to what secure zone customer should be forwarded so I thought maybe this expired zone gets selected but it seems thats not the case. Even if I login user directly to his regular secure zone which has no expiration I get "secure zone expired" page. If I manually uncheck this expired zone subscription, customer can login again.

Even if i press "Talent" which expires never I get this Zone Expiry system page.
With login form the redirect is done as Kiyuco suggests: submit button links to redirect page where ajax checks zones user is subscribed to and redirects to the first one in the list.

The bumper does not protect the back casing. If you wanted to protect that portion of the iPhone, you should have purchased a different type of protective case.

Going by some of the other posts, BT are snowed under with this mess of their own making and are unable to cope with the demand. It may be that you will get an email conformation once the request has been actioned. If you haven't heard anything by tomorrow I would try again and if that fails then it loks like you will have to endure the call centre 0800 111 4567

I can't find the posting where there was a heated discussion regarding VMS and Cisco forcing users to BUY Cisco Security Managager (CSM).

Some very interesting points were raised but the main issue is about functionality rather that cost. Basically, CSM does not fully replicate the functionality of VMS (see the thread) and this is the main issue for a lot of folks.
What might be useful is for Cisco to ask the question "what functionality would you like to see in CSM?" - and publish the answers somewhere, to allow folks to vote on the proposed features and/or add new requests. Just an idea.

I got my emails for the main account, and for the sub account that I use every day, and have linked them. My wife has NOT had her email on her sub account, which she uses every day. I've tried phoning for help, but gave up after 20 minutes on hold. How do I go about getting the email re-sent, or otherwise linking her active account so it is not lost?

Frustrating. I contacted customer chat help. It failed to work in Firefox, but eventually worked in Internet Explorer. I was greeted by being number 26 in a queue with and average wait time of 2:34. Fast work, I thought. Time dragged on, the countdown timer went to nil and gave up. The average wait time grew to over 6 minutes. Then it fell, and fell, down to 1:34. Hmmm, I thought, I've already been on 10 minutes. After 14 minutes, I got through.
4 minutes in to the chat I felt I was getting nowhere, then the chat agent offered to phone me to sort out the issue properly, which he did. The issue is compounded as I have a BT ID from my previous broadband, and a newer one from BT Infinity. He then rang back to confirm the actions he had taken and to give me time scales. An excellent result. Sadly it took an hour and 20 minutes to solve.

Override protected method as public

I am new to Java.
My doubt is :
I have a class named Base having one protected method(let's say x()) and another class named Derived which extends Base.
Now i want to override method x() of the Base class. Here I have 2 option either use access modifier as protected or public.
As per my understanding, i can override this method only with exact signature. But I can use Public as well. And here i am getting confused why we can.
Eg. In Object class we have method clone() which is protected, and to get cloned object of my class i need to override this method either with protected modifier or as public.
If I override as public then whats the use of protected method, why its not defined as public.
Please clear me the concept.

However narrowing the scope will hide for instance throw able exceptions from the caller, break polymorphism, conflict with the intension's of the class from the author and a whole wealth of other problems.

I am sorry to say that, but your security makes my life miserable – it’s been 2 months since my Apple ID account got stuck, and since then I cannot update 37 applications (to date), i.e. most of my applications. Half of them I bought. I also paid for iCloud, and it is not working. I paid money and I am stuck with old applications and no iCloud. Your security *****. Your service ***** too. It took your service 1 month to finally understand why this happened to me, and it took me tens of emails to you and 3 hours of telephone conversation to find out the reason for my problem. Well, it seems waiting is not my strong suit..! I renamed a javascript file called recovery to sessionstore. This file was in the folder sessionstore-backups I had copied from mozilla 3 days ago, when my tabs were still in place. I replaced the sessionstore in mozilla's default folder with the renamed file and then started mozilla. And the tabs reappeared as they were 3 days ago!
So there goes the tab problem. But again when I started mozilla the window saying "a script has stopped responding" appeared, this time the script being: chrome//browser/contenttabbrowser.xml2542
If someone knows how to fix this and make firefox launch normally, please reply! Thank you

NO REMOTE BACKUP & RESTORE ON BLACKBERRY PROTECT ON BB10 OPERATING SYSTEM --- READ THIS POST

Dear BlackBerry,
First of all I would like to establish that I am a very loyal customer of BlackBerry, so anything that I will say in this letter is because of the personal concerns shared by me and millions of loyal BlackBerry customers.
BlackBerry have launched the new BlackBerry Classic Q20 phone.
Apart from the reintroduction of the Navigation and Track pad that is above the physical keyboard and slightly bigger size.
What are the real differences between this new BlackBerry Classic Q20   and the BlackBerry Q10 ?
The main issues and concerns are that BlackBerry have reduced and in fact left out several features on the BlackBerry 10 operating system, for which was available on the BlackBerry 7 operating system, such as on the BlackBerry Bold 9900.
Some features may not be vital or important, but other features were vital and important and by BlackBerry leaving out these vital features, it beckons the question as to why are BlackBerry limiting the software functions and capabilities of the BlackBerry 10 operating system as to what the BlackBerry 7 operating system has in place.
Do not misunderstand me in what I am saying, BlackBerry is still the best in what it does and I love the product. And the BlackBerry 10 operating system does have features and functions that the BlackBerry 7 operation system does not have.
But the whole point of improvement is that BlackBerry keep the best and vital functions that are available on the BlackBerry 7 operating system and actually include those features and functions in to the BlackBerry 10 operating system. That would make sense and move forward.
There are two vital features and functions that I will now mention that are available on the BlackBerry 7 operating system but was left out of the BlackBerry 10 operating system.
Firstly, there is a feature on the BlackBerry 7 operating system, called   "SELECT ALL"
This feature allowed the user to go in to their, photos or pictures or videos or music or documents or phone contacts folders and if the user wished to share all of those items in that particular folder to another phone device with Bluetooth or a computer with Bluetooth, or to delete all of the items in one go within that folder, then the user would not need to manually click on each item within that folder, which is time consuming especially if there may be in excess of one hundred items in each folder or more than one hundred phone contacts within the contacts folder, where the user needs to now manually click on each item using the "Select More" feature that is the available feature on the BlackBerry 10 operating system and is very time consuming.
But within the BlackBerry 7 operating system there is the feature and function that is called   "SELECT ALL"
This feature allows the user to "select all" of the individual items within the folder of their choice or the phone contacts folder, with just one click and be able to either delete all of these items or to share transfer all of these items to another device or computer that has Bluetooth.
Can BlackBerry bring this feature to the BlackBerry 10 operating system as an update as soon as possible ?
The next feature and function that was on the BlackBerry 7 operating system but was deliberately not included in the BlackBerry 10 operating system is the >
Remote Back Up   and   Remote Restore     on the BlackBerry Protect.
This cloud back up and restore feature was vital and in the history of BlackBerry with Blackberry's advanced encryption and security, this cloud back up and restore feature was always safe and the security and protection of data being backed up and restored to and from Blackberry's cloud has NEVER been compromised or hacked or accessed in any way what so ever by anyone. And this made Blackberry's reputation for security number one and gave the loyal BlackBerry customers even more confidence in the BlackBerry product.
Now I will go in to detail why it is vital that BlackBerry must include and introduce this feature that is available on the BlackBerry 7 operating system but it is not available on the BlackBerry 10 operating system.
Firstly, the current BlackBerry protect that is available on the BlackBerry 10, has some lovely fancy features, such as remote locating of the phone and remote wiping of the phone, should it ever be lost or stolen.
The fact is, this is a good feature, but if the phone was lost forever or indeed stolen, then that's it, the device data is also lost forever and the only data that would be accessible to restore on to a new BlackBerry 10 operating system device, would be what ever the last back up that was available that was made using BlackBerry Link on the computer.
Now, doing a phone back up on BlackBerry Link on the computer, is all very well and good, but there are many limitations to this.
Firstly,
if the owner of a BlackBerry 10 operating system device was to be at home or in the office and connect their BlackBerry 10 device to their computer to BlackBerry Link and do a full device Back Up. Then that device is now only Backed Up at that point and is only Backed Up to date at that moment.
Now imagine after that Back Up was made, the computer in which BlackBerry Link is installed on and the Back Up was made, imagine the situation where that computer broke and all the saved data was lost or destroyed for ever or that computer that had the BlackBerry Link backed up data was stolen and never recovered ? Then everything that was backed up from the BlackBerry 10 operating system device to that particular computer using BlackBerry Link, would now be lost for ever. Which means that the Back Up that was made using BlackBerry Link is pointless in this above situation.
Second Example,
This next example is even more realistic and is vital in my argument for the Remote Back Up and Remote Restore.
Imagine for example it is a day that you decide to do a full phone Back Up of your BlackBerry 10 operating system device on your computer using BlackBerry Link. Everything is now Backed Up only on that computer and is only up to date at that moment.
Then later that day, you need to travel to another town or city or state or country, for what ever reason and you may be away for a day or several days or weeks.
While you are away, the computer that you used to make the last full Back Up using BlackBerry Link, is at your home or in your office, hundreds or thousands of miles away from where you are with your BlackBerry 10 device.
While you are away, you input new contact details or new calendar schedule entries or new memo notes or new reminders or all of these above vital entries in to your phone.
You do this the next day when you leave and then throughout your business or personal vacation, you continue to input vital information in to your BlackBerry 10 operating system device, such as new contacts, new or amended calendar entries, new memos, new tasks. All the vital information that you need stored safely and secure.
Then your BlackBerry 10 operating system device is either lost or destroyed or stolen. But whichever, it is now gone for ever and all of the NEW vital information that you have in putted in to your BlackBerry 10 operating system device since the last full Back Up that was made using BlackBerry Link on the computer that is hundreds or thousands of miles away, has now been lost for ever.
What is the point in in putting any new data or information in to your BlackBerry 10 device if a situation as mentioned above was to happen ?
Where is the benefit of only the BlackBerry Link Back Up in this above situation ?
Now if the device was a BlackBerry 7 operating system device such as the BlackBerry Bold 9900, then if the above situation was to happen, if you was away from your home or office since the last full Back Up of your device was made on a computer.
If you were hundreds or thousands of miles away and whilst you was away on vacation you need entered new contact details or new memos or new reminders or new calendar entries or amendments in to your BlackBerry 7 device. Then you can immediately after in putting these new items of information and data in to your BlackBerry 7 device, you can do a Remote Back Up to the BlackBerry Cloud   using any connected wireless network or your mobile phone network using your data that is on your sim card to do this Remote Back Up.
Then if after this Remote Back Up was done, if the BlackBerry 7 device was lost or stolen or destroyed, then you could simply go and purchase another BlackBerry 7 operating system device and input your primary email address that was used to register the previous BlackBerry 7 device, in to the new BlackBerry 7 device and then once set up, then open up BlackBerry Protect and click on Restore and select the last saved cloud Back Up and then all of the data that you last Backed Up over BlackBerry Protect Cloud is now installed on to your newly purchased BlackBerry 7 operating system device.
This was a vital feature for total security and peace of mind of all BlackBerry users.
All BlackBerry users do NOT want to download any third party application that makes claims to offering this service as any third party application is NOT reliable and NOT safe and NOT secure.
Only the Remote Back Up and Remote Restore on the BlackBerry cloud that is available on BlackBerry Protect on the BlackBerry 7 operating system, is the only proved secure cloud back up for BlackBerry and actually works precisely and is totally safe and secure.
So I now ask the question to BlackBerry,
Why is this vital Remote Back Up and Remote Restore feature of BlackBerry Protect that is available on the BlackBerry 7 operating system, is not on the BlackBerry 10 operating system ?
Will BlackBerry please listen to its loyal customers and please introduce the two above mentioned features as an update to the BlackBerry 10 operating system.
These above two mentioned functions and features are vital and it's what millions of loyal BlackBerry customers want installed on their BlackBerry 10 devices.
Please can someone at BlackBerry please come back to me and tell me if these above two features will be introduced to the BlackBerry 10 operating system as an update or download ? As its what we all want back.

White screen appeared twice now when Curve 8520 battery is low? (Please Help)

I'm really worried that my Blackberry is going to die ... I've only had it just over a year & I'm still paying for it, so for it to die on me would be truly upsetting!!
I've had the white screen twice now while my battery is low, I've seen a fix online about if you get the white screen & it won't come back on, but I don't know if that would be good for me to do, also can you please let me know before any fix if I will lose anything such as my BBM contacts for example!!!!!

Apps and free space : I don;t have many app's really, Facebook, Twitter, I have the bejewelled & Sims 3, a horoscope one, wrestling online & Bebuzz .. I think that's it really, free space not sure but I know that it's ok though.
I've done a battery pull each time the phone has done this ... & it's just re-booted the phone fine, but the fact the white screen issue has happened to me twice now in the past few days is worrying, it's always when the battery is low .... I've noticed the battery seems to charge up quite quickly too ... not sure whether that means anything.
Please kindly help as soon as you possibly can ... I want to fix this early on the best way I can with hopefully not losing anything either ... such a gutter!! :-(

We can do a few things just in case your phone situation gets worse.
I highly recommend that you do a full backup of the data using the desktop manager.
If you need to install it on your computer, get it from:

After that, install blackberry protect if you haven't done so already. make sure your online backup ran ok.

I then recommend that you reload your device software. here are the steps.
