Protected Attachment problem

I am having an issue with a content filter not firing. The content filter is configured with the condition "attachment-protected" and the action to "Change Recipient to" (a test email address). A similiar content filter successfully scans unprotected attachments and fires on content in a custom dictionary without issue.
These documents are password protected on open, not modify (I'm just using MS word with password protection) and some are encrypted with PGP,  .gpg. The emails with these protected attachments simply pass through the IronPort box and get delivered without being detected as protected documents.
My intent is to redirect all any emails that have an attachment i can't scan for content.
Any help would be great.

If your appliance implements one of the anti-virus options, why not try the Encrypted Messages settings? There are some tasty options in the Advanced drop-down that might do what you want.
Some might say that if your AV has not been able to check the attachment then it should be viewed primarily as an AV risk anyway.

    Hi Suresh,
    I just tried this thing in my systtem and it is working... BADI is trigerred everytime there is a change in the PO... even when you release there is a change in the PO so this BADI will be triggerred....
    I suggest you should implement BADI in your dev system and place a break point in the POST method...
    After that create a PO and release it using ME29N... thereafter when you save the PO... this method will trigger and you will have access to PO details...
    PS: Remember this BADI wont work for transaction ME29...

  • New document: How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems

    Have you ever had problems with PDF attachments sent from Adobe Reader for iOS using Share > E-mail Document?
    You may find this document useful to avoid the problems.
    How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems
    Please let us know if you have encountered different types of problems with PDF attachments.  We can look for solutions or workarounds for you.

    Unfortunately, we (Adobe Reader mobile team) do not know if/when Apple will fix the attachment problems (software defects) in Apple Mail.
    In particular, the attachment problem with Microsoft Outlook (See Problem #2 in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems) appears to be a long-standing defect that has been known for years.  However, Apple has not provided any fix for Apple Mail yet.
    Adobe Reader for iOS merely launches Apple Mail (the default mail app on iOS) to send a PDF document as an attachment.  Adobe Reader has no control over whether or not to embed a preview image of an attachment in the body of an email message, which is known to cause the problem with Microsoft Outlook (on the receiving side).  The same problem happens when you send a single-page PDF document as an attachment along with an email signature from Apple iBooks on iOS.
    For now, all iPad/iPhone users can do is to avoid the problems by using the workarounds that are described in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems.
    When new and different problems with PDF attachments are reported by Adobe Reader for iOS users, we will update the document above.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Hotmail not allowing me to attach a document to an email, is this a hotmail issue, or a firefox, or virus protection setting problem

    I try and attach anything, photo, pdf, Word doc, etc. and it will not attach. Therefore I cannot send anything other than a typed email -- those go fine. Just cannot attach anything to it. Maybe it's a security setting, I've checked most everything might say something like "do not allow attachments" etc. but haven't found anything to "uncheck".

  • DPM 2010 (Domain A), Sharepoint 2010 (Domain A), SQL Server 2008 R2 (Domain B): Protection Group Problem SQL named is in wrong domain format.

    Good Evening,
    So I have 3 Servers in all, with the following configurations:
    Server1: DPM2010.contoso.com (Domain A)
    Server2: Sharepoint2010WFE.contoso.com (Domain A)
    Server3: Sharepoint2010DB.contoso.net (Domain B)
    I have prepared sharepoint2010wfe.contoso.com appropriatly by installing the DPM Agent, running configuresharepoint.exe -enablesharepointprotection & ConfigureSharepoint.exe enableSPSearchProtection.
    I have prepared Sharepoint2010db.contoso.net by installing the DPM agent to the server using the manual installation method and creating local user credentials and connecting to the agent through install > attach agent.
    In DPM all of agents are healthy so I go over to create the protection profile and I recieve the following error: DPM cannot protect your windows sharepoint services farm until you install agents on the following server: Sharepoint2010db.contoso.com (ID:
    956)
    I have already attempted creating an alias on the WFE server for Sharepoint2010db.contoso.com and have it point to Sharepoint2010DB.contoso.net but this did not resolve my issue at all.
    Also please keep in mind that pinging Sharepoint2010db.contoso.com is invalid as there is not a valid DNS entry of any kind, Im not even sure where this name is coming from other than some sort of a mashup. Also I am unable to domain join the SQL server
    to contoso.com because of licensing costs.
    A resolution to this issue woudl be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Deepan,
    I run into exactly the same problem with SharePoint 2013 and DPM 2012SP1. SharePoint servers run in domain a, sql 2012 in domain b. We use a SQL alias SharePoint_PROD that is configured with the fqdn of the sql server (sql20.b.com), but DPM resolves it to
    sql20.a.com when I try to configure SharePoint protection.  Is there any solution yet?

    Cheers,

    As, I said earlier (in some of your posts), you have to add UTL_RCPT for each recepient. For example, if you have CC list into some variable p_cc as comma separated list, then you can do something like this:
    ll_cc := '[email protected],[email protected],[email protected]';
       loop
           exit when l_to is null;
           n := instr( l_cc, ',' );
           IF n =0 THEN exit; end if;
           l_tmp := substr( l_cc, 1, n-1 );
           l_cc := substr( l_cc, n+1 );
           utl_smtp.rcpt( l_tmp );
       end loop;PS.: Not tested.
    Read this excellent explanation from Billy Verreynne
    To expand on what was said - the SMTP server does not parse the mail data you give it. It does not look at that to see the recipients, CC and BC list. The mail data is just that - raw data. This is the payload that the SMTP server will deliver.Where will it deliver it to? That you need to explicitly tell it via the RCPT TO SMTP command. So you need to build a complete list of names that includes all recipients, including CC and BC.
    And then use this list of names to instruct the SMTP SERVER, via the RCPT TO command, who must receive the message payload.>

  • Email Attachment Problem

    Hi Gurus!!!
    We are sending email in HTML format and has the option of attaching PDF, Excel and Text files. Now the problem occurs in attaching text file, when the email is received the contents of the email is unrecognizable. <b>It converted the format of the email to TEXT</b>. I don't know what causing this but in PDF and Excel attachments it has no problem at all. Its seems that that HTML format email doesn't recognize <b>.txt</b> attachments.  We are using class <b>CL_DOCUMENT_BCS</b> for the email. Does anyone knows how to fix this?
    Thanks and Best regards,
          JP

    I've been having the same problem attaching documents with Firefox. I finally sent a large file for free through YouSendIt.com. Take a look. It's free unless you want special services.

  • PROTECT-ENDPROTECT problem in SAP Script

    In SAP Script MAIN Window I have 10 different elements to print differet stuff related with each delivery line item.
    Like Material Number
    Material Description
    Long text [Has formatted text and I am reading that text and printed in some format some lines under material number and some under materail desc.]
    and other information required by client.
    Loop at Delivery item table.
    CALL FUNCTION 'CONTROL_FORM'
           EXPORTING
                command = 'PROTECT'.
    Print differnt elements.
    Loop at lond text internal table.
    print in proper format as I mentioned.
    endloop.
      CALL FUNCTION 'CONTROL_FORM'
           EXPORTING
                command = 'ENDPROTECT'.
    ENDLOOP.
    My problem is PROTECT ENDPROTECT is not working properly.
    It is printing only 1 item with other info on first page as there are enough space left to print minimum three items with details.
    on next page it is priting only 3-4 items as there are enough sapce to ptint at lease 10 items with details.
    The only good thing is it is not spliting the Item details and other text.[Main window on next page has bigger size]
    Any idea why PROTECT - ENDPOTECT not behaving properly.
    Thanks
    Aman

    Hello,
    Try to do like, Put PROTECT and ENDPROTECT in the SAPScript itself.
    Like
    Element 1
    Protect
    ..matnr....
    element 2
    ...desc....
    element 3 (long text)
    ...text
    ....text
    element 4
    endprotect
    call the element 4 in the loop statment, whenever required.
    Hope it will work.
    Regards,
    Naimesh.

  • Adobe Reader XI protected mode problem

    I downloaded Reader XI and went to open a pdf that previously worked with Reader.  But Adobe Reader XI won't open (says problem with "protected mode").  I can't open any pdf's either on my computer or on the internet at trusted sights.  Troubleshooting takes me to a page on fixes for Reader X. Not helpful!  Any ideas?  (I uninstalled and reinstalled and still won't work.)

    CoUnyot,
    Thanks for your post ...
    Please Disable protected Mode .. Please find the below steps ":
    Disable Protected Mode by going to Edit > Preferences > General and deselecting Enable Protected Mode at startup.
    Restart Reader.

  • Receiving attachment problems in Mail.app

    I'm having a problem with attachments being received by Mail.app (version 3.3 on 10.5.4). Basically, the messages show that attachments are associated with the message, but they have zero size. I'm connecting to an IMAP server over SSL (uw-imapd on Debian). If I use Thunderbird on the same iMac the attachments are there just fine. This seems to be related to people sending mail from AOL.
    Any suggestions on where I should look for a solution to the problem?

    The icons are there at the bottom of the message. On mouse over they say "Not yet Downloaded". If I control-click the icon and select "Quick look" I get:
    "Mail was unable to save the attachment “CIMG7512.JPG” to disk. Please verify your downloads folder exists and is writable."
    Control-click/open results in nothing.
    Attachments from other messages work fine, so the download folder exists and is writable.
    There are 3 attachments. Header on first is:
    -------------------------------1208029702--
    --part2c27.34062a16.35326c62boundary
    Content-Type: image/jpeg; name="CIMG7512.JPG"
