Protecting/hiding Business Catalyst website from the public and search engines while in development.

How can we protect/hide our Business Catalyst-based website from the public and search engines while we are developing it? It seems like anyone can access it, even though it is not complete.
We are using Dreamweaver to build our website, if that helps. Is there any way to have a test instance of BC that is password protected for development and testing? Thank you for your ideas.

I have something in my room but I do not tell you it is there or where it is or what it does.
How do you know unless I show you?
Do not share your links out, the sitemap is not on till you activate the system.
I have built BC sites for over 5 years and only one case for me of a client posting out an unfinished site got it indexed by google.

It's possible the website is in your bookmarks and when you type in some letters in the Location Bar that match that bookmark, it is coming up from there. See [[Search your bookmarks, history and tabs with the Awesome Bar]] for details on changing your Location Bar settings in your [[Options Window - Privacy panel|privacy settings]].

Hiding business-logic methods from the SOAP Client

Hello,
Is there any way to hide a method from the SOAP Client.
For Example, Lets say I have two methods in my object Foo. And the client of this web-service can create Foo thru SOAP API. The method are:
public String getName();
public Group getGroup();
I want the SOAP client to see the Foo object only with getName() and not getGroup().
Can I control this thru Java2Wsdl or something else?

You can use source2wsdd with @wlws:exclude tag for the methods you want to hide.

why not create a "document" or "blog" and provide some examples of search or how the link can help in a case study etc and tag specific keywords so that this link will always show up in related search in SCN? This will also give you more points and be of helpful for many of us

This is the error i'm getting whenever i try to open a business catalyst website. I can't open the dashboard also...

Since the BC.Next update (which I'm told is now completed by chat) has effect how parts of my site display.
Previous to the update I was able to render variations of my 'blogpostlist' in various parts of my site with different layouts using template="/.." in the new module tags for my client's blog.
Now these types of modules:
{module_blogpostlist,10583,1 template="/Layouts/Blog/dwm-bloghome.html"}
No longer renders the "dwm-bloghome.html" template. Instead it is using the default blog layout "postlist.html"
I've tried to sort this out with chat but with no success. First I was told to wait for the BC.Next update to complete and check back on the BC Status page to find out it was done. After four hours I asked chat again what the ETA was (since parts of my client's site are messed up because of this.) This time i was told it was complete and they don't post completion times for events since there was no client impact. Of course there is but they don't seem to believe me. When I explained the impact I was then told BC.Next is a beta feature and not supported. Basically, no help.
I'm venting since I'm looking for help on a BC issue that is out of my control but no one at BC seems interested in helping or interested to know that a previously working feature is no longer working.
Are you aware of any issues with the new rendering engine causing problems with custom templates defined in module tags?

May I use my five Business catalyst websites to host . . .

As a creative cloud subscriber, may I use my five free Business catalyst websites to host my own site with my own domain name or are these five sites only for testing?

How do you permantly delete old business catalyst websites.
I've been trying to permantly delete all these old business catalyst sites that keep showing up in the side bar that says "Websites" and u can "View" or "Manage" them. But every time i try to manage them they just go to a blank page worldsecureserver.net or something. What should i do?

Revoke select on "all_source" view from the public ?

There is a security audit going on at my client's site and one of the requirements is to
revoke select on "*all_source*" view from the public .
1) Can Someone point out if there are any immediate ramifications of doing this (As in will the application
get affected in any way.. I don't assume so ) I scoured metalink but couldn't find any docs which cautions agaist it .
2) Now there are over 150 databases (8i,9i,10g) with several different development teams . How do i go about ensuring that the developers are not affected by this change . DO I need to create a seperate view based on this one for seperate teams .. ?

There are a number of "security hints" type papers on the intertubes, generally they say things like:

Select the iPod shuffle in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES). If this is a current 4th (or 3rd) gen iPod shuffle, you should be able to see the contents of the shuffle by type, intented under the shuffle's name (still in the sidebar). Select Music or Audiobooks (not sure where those items from the library will be listed). The items will be listed to the right, for each category. Find the items, select, and delete.

NOTE: If this is an 1st or 2nd gen iPod shuffle, select the iPod shuffle in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES). Over to the right, go to the Contents tab, where the items are listed. Select and delete them from this list.
I find it more convenient to make a playlist in iTunes with things I want to put on the shuffle. I then set up automatic syncing (or use autofill) to have iTunes load the shuffle from that playlist, automatically.

My Foxtab page websites slip out from the boxes and are all muddled up. I have uninstalled and reset but still does it. My system is Windows 7

For about 4 weeks my Foxtab will not work properly. I fill the boxes with websites but they slip out from the boxes and when I click on one of them I get a different website. I have uninstalled Firefox and set up[ again but this makes no difference.

I deleted a website from the awesome bar before. Now I want that website to appear on the drop down menu again. I visit it almost everyday but I cannot see it on the awesome bar. How can I fix this?

If it was removed it may no longer be listed, however if you have visited the site again I am guessing two things are happening if it does not show up:
#The settings for your url bar have changed, check to make sure that history is checked in the Location bar settings about:preferences#privacy
