Providers / consumers

What are Providers and consumers in Xcelsius? How I can import live data into Xcelsius from BI using Providers/ Consumers

I would recommend to take a look to the user's guide:
http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/xcelsius2008SP3/en/Xcelsius2008SP3_user_guide_en.pdf
Check the Using the Data Manager section.
When you talk about BI do you mean SAP BI?

  • How to create a report to bring all data from two different Info providers

    Hi All,
I have a peculier problem while creating a report. I have two custom info providers one DSO and another Cube. There are only two common fields between these two Info providers . I need to create a report such that the report displays all the values from DSO but user can have the selection option on one of the fields in the Cube.
    Here is an example
    DSO Contents:
    DocNum-     DocItem-     DocText-     Amount-      Quantity
    10000----     10----            ABC----          100----           10
    10001----     20----     DSN----     200----     10
    10005----     20----     DSN----     200----     10
    Z1003----     10----     CAN----     500----     1
    Cube Contents
    DocNum-     DocItem-     Date-----          InvoiceAmt
    10000----     10----     1/10/2009----         50
    10001----     20----      2/20/2009----        100
    10005----     20----      2/25/2009----        100
The report needs to be displayed as shown below when the user selects value for date from 1/10/2009 to 2/20/2009
    DocNum-     DocItem-     DocText-     Amount-      Quantity
    10000----     10----     ABC----     100----     10
    10001----     20----     DSN----     200----     10
I hope this was clear for you to understand. I would really appricate if any one can answers about how to resolve this problem. I cannot add the date filed to DSO and I also have Doc Num and Item as the user selection fields in the report.
Thank you all in advance and i would really appreciate for your suggestions.

    Hi chinna,
Two possible options, I can think of now, but both of them may be a compromise with performance.
    1. create an infoset and then a query on top of it, provided we have a one to one relation in both the targets. That is, the combination of doc and item number is not duplicate in either cube or ODS.
    2. Create a master data object of doc and item number and have date as an attribute. Load that from cube data and make date as navigational attr.
Use this navgntal attr for selection in your report.
Let us know, if you require any further info.

  • Web Application and Custom JavaMail Providers

We have a web application that uses custom JavaMail Providers on Weblogic 7.0.
The structure of the WAR file is as follows:
    |-WEB-INF
    |-lib
    |-activation.jar
    |-mail.jar (as provided by Sun for JavaMail 1.2)
    |-custommail.jar (custom JavaMail providers)
    |-... (other jars for web application).
Now the JavaMail Session object cannot find the custom providers as it appears the Web Container is loading the JavaMail classes (Session) from the WebLogic.jar instead of mail.jar from the web application's lib directory.
How can I configure the web application to load classes from the mail.jar in the applications lib directory?.
This configuration works on Tomcat 4.0.4.
    Vikash

This is standard behavior in WebLogic - the child classloader (the
classloader for the web applicaiton) will always
delegate to the parent classloader (the system classloader), and so it will
alwyas find the ones included in weblogic.jar
    first.
You can get around this in two ways:
    a) Put the classes in weblogic's classpath (Before weblogic.jar)
    b) You can set the "Prefer Web-Inf Classes" attribute of a web application
    (see Admin console).
In this case the web application classloader will not delegate, but
    always look locally first.
Just be careful in this scenario not to pass an object created by the
    web applicatino classloader to say
an EJB. ie. don't pass a mail session object, as then you'll get a
    classcastexception.

  • I have a complaint about my mac book pro being slippery. Why do these expensive computers that we as consumers purchase if you set them on a couch slip off no matter where you place them on the couch?

Hi, my Mac Book Pro 15 inch lap top if i set it on the couch no matter where I place it slips off and luckily so far I have caught it before it falls onto the floor and gets ruined, of which I am super afraid of, due to what I initially paid for it as the consumer. Also, the couch is not made of slippery material at all. Also, when using it on my lap while watching tv, and multi tasking while doing my college homework, it even slides off of my lap at times. Why is it called a lap top then when it's not working as one? Are we to wear rubber pants that grip your products? Also, Why do you place on your Apple website that in one area a satin cover is available in the teal color, and then in another area it's discontinued? I believe it would be simpler if Apple would just remove the product all together from the purchasing website once any product becomes discontinued. Also, I was sitting here at home waiting for a reply about the satin cover in teal no longer being available period or that it has shipped, but yet I ended up calling Apple altogether myself and finding this all out that the only available color is the black. It would've been nice to have recieved an e-mail or a phone call on why it wasn't going to be shipped, or shipping instead of having to do customer services job and doing the leg work myself. Also, why is it that no one also even tells a consumer about the classes that were offered to a new consumer for 14 days after purchase of paying the $99.00s to learn about their macs of any kind? If I had known about such a program, I surely would've signed right up for it. Now I am being told that I can only take one clas at a time or something?!? I seriously wish I was told about this as a consumer of the Mac Book Pro 15 inch, because I would've purchased that offer right away, and now I am stuck and can no longer do it. Also I have had my computer since October of last year. So, I am in college as becoming a graphic designer within a degree of an Associates of Science and am now still struggling to learn the computer, and the programs I pruchased as well at the time of purchase, along with an Epson printer, the magic mouse, and the one year warranty. As for this all, I do believe that Apple needs to make a better bottom to the Mac Book Pro's within a much better quality for the price we pay as consumers, and all other lap tops and/or Notebooks in making them slide proof. The tiny rubber spots on the bottom of the lap tops or any Apple computer similar to mine just needs a better quality improvement to us consumers I spent good money on this purchase, I think now I deserve a rubberised protective cover for free for the slipperyness, and also since I was never told about the program for the classes of which a consumer  was to pay $99.00s for, I think as a good paying quality consumer for Apple's products, I now deserve these classes for free as well.
    Sincerely,
    Kim

    Hi shldr2thewheel,
it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
Sincerely in need of help once again,
    Kim

  • Multiple consumers of the same Queue

In the past my use of JMS queues has been limited to a single message producer and a single consumer. I am now looking at having multiple copies of the same consumer running for load balancing and failover purposes, and this leads me to what I think is a basic question. BTW, we're running OpenMQ 4.4u1.
I have messages being produced and saved in a single queue.
I then have a consumer program whose logic is something like this:
    1. Create session with no transaction and CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE.
    2. Receive message from queue.
    3. Do some processing with message. Repeat processing attempts multiple times, if needed, until successful.
    4. Once processing is successful, acknowledge message.
Assume that I am running multiple copies of the consumer in separate JVMs (or on separate servers, for that matter).
    Here are my related questions.
    1. If step 3 takes a long time (e.g., several minutes) can I be sure that only one instance of the consumer will receive the message?
    2. If a consumer is in step 3 and a catastrophic failure occurs (e.g., the JVM or server it is running on crashes) the message will never be acknowledged, but the session will not be shut down in an orderly fashion, either. Will the message that was received but never acknowledged eventually be delivered to another copy of the consumer?
    3. If step three takes a very long time (hours or days, rather than minutes), will the broker misinterpret this as a failure of the consumer and deliver the same message to another one of the consumers?
Thank you for reading and/or responding to this question.
    Bill

    1. If step 3 takes a long time (e.g., several minutes) can I be sure that only one instance of the consumer will receive the message?A queue message will only be delivered and consumed by 1 consumer.
    2. If a consumer is in step 3 and a catastrophic failure occurs (e.g., the JVM or server it is running on crashes) the message will never be acknowledged, but the session will not be shut down in an orderly fashion, either. Will the message that was received but never acknowledged eventually be delivered to another copy of the consumer?Yes.
    3. If step three takes a very long time (hours or days, rather than minutes), will the broker misinterpret this as a failure of the consumer and deliver the same message to another one of the consumers? No, as long as the consumer's Session or Connection are intact

  • How to realign elements of an array? Working with old Dynamic Data consumers

    Hello,
I've got some code which was written with DAQ assistants years ago.  I'm trying to use tasks and arrays for my producer now for speed and efficiency, but I'm stumped on one thing.
The consumers were written to have the data in a certain order - there's even a VI in there that selects certain elements and sends them to specific outputs.  I previously took care of this with a simple VI that split the dynamic data, wired them to different order terminals, and then set it back to dynamic;  Screenshot attached.
Is there a structure like this for array where you can break out all the array elements, reorder them and insert constants, and then put them back into the array?  What this ends up feeding is a subvi that's an array builder which converts the DD to array and then reroutes it.  Seems almost like what I'm trying to do could be done there, but it's a bit confusing to me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Still confused after 8 years.

    Hi Ralph@NES,
One thing I have done before for this is create a mapping array and a for loop to reorder the elements in your data array. Take a look at the example VI I've attached. If you know exactly where you want everything, you just need to go into the mapping array and set the index destination for the corresponding data. Hope this helps.

  • Multiple LDAP Providers?

Is it possible to have multiple LDAP providers configured within one UCM instance?
Users from A.DOMAIN.COM and users from B.DOMAIN.COM can authenticate with and share one UCM? This is of course not taking into consideration how security would be set up behind the scenes.. this is more of a 'what if...' question. We would want the users authenticating against their domain accounts in their respective domains.
If it makes any difference, A & B are Active Directory domains in a two-way trusted relationship that belong to the common DOMAIN.COM forest.
    Thanks

    Hey Peter,
This use case can be handled. If you notice in the documentation for security
    [Seen Here|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10316_01/cs/cs_doc_10/admin/users_security/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=managing_security_10&file=page_7_17.htm]
You can set up additional LDAP providers. In this documentation, they are referencing fail-over, however, this will work for your case, with various users are in LDAP B vs LDAP A.
Keep in mind that you need to set the provider priority to be different than your first provider, such as priority 1, then priority 2 and that all users will hit the first provider first if they have never logged in, however, their last success log in with X provider will be saved so all subsequent requests will go to the proper ldap provider.

  • Creative in the dock over driver issues for older cards and upsetting consumers please read!

To Who this may concern at TOP LEVEL AT Creative's Board It's come to my attention to a very serious issue From Creative, and the story starts from here.
I have just required the Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card so looking to install the latest drivers from CREATIVE'S UK WEBSITE. So I look into the date which is 9/4/200 on Creative's website. However I did abit more investigating into the issues from other consumer's from passed half soaked drivers that Creative are supposed to put right with their half asleep development team(what a joke!!).
AS I did more research? on this issue on the forums and hardware websites, it came across to my attention on a Brazilian I. T. Expert called Daniel Kawakami (surprisesurprise and I don't suppose Creative know anything about him other than trying to kick him the balls for his work to help others with their sound cards very good PR work Creative well done!!!!).So armed with all this information and believe me I have gone into alot of reading in the forums about the issues, and yes Creative Board Of Directors you are entitled to your Copy Rights, for now !!!
So I find out more about this super hero Daniel Kawakami? to Creative's miss givings to put right the Drivers for Consumers let down by Creative, I came across one of the driver updates for the Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card done by Daniel Kawakami, and Bingo most consumer's now have a working drivers by him.
So for all the hard work and precious time this Daniel Kawakami has done for Creative Consumers(including me) YOU SELFISH CREATIVE BOARD OF DIRECTOR'S go and kick him the face, so I will say this to you what about his rights as a creative product consumer? ,his driver copy rights and on top that his right to put things right that your team cannot put right in the first place. This is the EXACT PEOPLE WE NEED IN THIS HIGHLY COMPLICATED IT INDUSTRY, so what do you do you try and do, you bin him.
So Creative I am going to ask some questions and I EXPECT YOU TO ANSWER THEM with me as a CONSUMER OF YOUR PRODUCTS(customer is King not you!!)
    1. The drivers you realised on the 9th April 200 are working drivers for the Audigy 2 zs for windows 7 ultimate.
    2. So how can you convince me that they are working?
    3. At the moment I can only trust Daniel Kawakami's? working drivers, since he has had over whelming praise for his work. What makes me think I can trust you with your drivers.
    4. Your Drivers came out on the 9/4/200, Daniel Kawakami's Drivers came out on 9/4/200 its too close a call, since your development Team are too lazy to put things right, how can you convince me that you did not copy his Drivers into your download Driver website(I would not be surprised if you did, as it would certainly be a cost cutting exercise ,and taking away his copy rights for all the work he has done for nothing!!!)
    5. Are you going to treat customer and consumers better service and support? in the Future, and that includes me,and 3rd party developers like Daniel Kawakami .
The concussion to all of this, there are lessons to be learned by you Creative for your mis givings and the treatment of customers passed and present and especially the appalling treatment of Daniel Kawakami ,this guy deserves far better for his talent. I Have one message for the President Of Creative ,don't you EVER think you can scare me as a customer and also as Registered? disabled deaf person ,and for that reason I have far more powers you will ever have. For what I have read I am so angry and dismayed when someone like Daniel Kawakami is only trying help others ,but to be treated in this way.
It is only right for me to post this ,because You Creative have hurt? alot people and that includes me. I look forward to the comments and p.m.(if I get any) And Daniel Kawakami? I hope you do read this and all the best for the future ,keep doing what you do ,and once again Creative you should be holding your heads in Shame.
    Regards Jonoace U.k.

    Problemas de memoria superior a 4 gb e tantos outros que Creative no tem respostas;
    Chega a ser vergonhoso que placas onboard como realtek funcionem melhor que placas Creative;
Realmente, antes era um sonho e orgulho possuir um produto CREATIVE, tornou-se um pesadelo e uma vergonha.
Mas enfim o que fazer, apenas esperar um momento de honestidade por parte de Creative.
Flavio Kern - Audigy 2 ZS
Creative will never respond. So it would be fair if Creative would publish his inability to speak and that even where the plates Audigy would work in Vista and 7. But by incompetence, since neither her new adapter works right, if it was to sell is poorly. Problems of memory above 4 gb, and so many others that Creative does not have answers; Daniel and Pax Drivers are alternati'ves, but which also has many limitations. I honestly think this time Creative come publico do a serious story, and describe clearly the limitations of your cards by putting an end-point on expectations, frustrations and forgeries. It is shameful that onboard realtek cards like that boards Creative work better; Actually, before it was a dream and pride have a CREATIVE product, became a nightmare and a shame. But anyway what to do, just wait a moment of honesty from Creative.

  • SCCM Agent install failed - CcmUnloadWmiProviders. Unloading WMI providers

Hi I have a SCCM 2007 SP2 setup in native mode. I have sccm client problem on Exchange server with os 2008 sp2.
SCCM agent was working on this server few months back but it is not working now.
SCCM agent stops at "CcmUnloadWmiProviders. Unloading WMI providers" steps.
I tried below steps to resolve this but no luck.
    1. Uninstall sccm setup using command "ccmsetup.exe /uninstall"
    2. Run "Cccmclean.exe /all"
    3. Run delcert.exe
    4. Rename SMSCFG.ini file
    5. Run ccmsetup.exe again with source folder path too
    6. As agent installation failed i rebuild WMI repository
    7. Re run setup but it failed at same step.
    8. I rebooted server and rebuild Repository but same error.
    Any Idea about problem
If needed i can provide Log files too

Thanks Mike and theinfraguys for your suggestions. My problem is resolved.
The solution which worked for me has no logic but it solved my issue.
When my installation stopps at “CcmUnloadWmiProviders. Unloading WMI providers” step client.msi.log file have incomplete entry as “C:\Windows\SysWOW64\C”
At this time I have to restart WMI service and service will not stop correctly so I have to forcefully kill Winmgmt process and setup will continue.
I have to follow same process for upgrading SCCM client.  During client upgrade some time I have to kill ccmexec process too.

  • I changed internet providers forcing a change for my apple id but now I cant update because old id pops up asking for password which no longer valid

I have an ipod and had to change my internet provider. because my previous apple id was part of that providers email I had to change my apple id. Since that time I cant update my ipod because it pops up with the old apple id and password which is no longer valid. How can I get the old apple id/password off the ipod and update my apps

    Hey cxl1234,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues after changing your Apple ID. To troubleshoot the issue, lets do the following:
    App Store
iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store.
    - If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, sign in with your current Apple ID.
    - If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID, tap your previous Apple ID and tap Sign Out. Then enter your current Apple ID to sign in.
via Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5796
If the above did not resolve your issue, and the applications are available from your purchase history, let’s go ahead and delete them and re-download (this will download the latest version):
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

    Thanks,

  • Unable to wirelessly connect to printer after switching ISP providers

I recently moved and needed to change ISP providers.  My Mac is up and running wirelessly on the new network, but I can't seem to configure my HP printer.  Model: HP LaserJet P1102w.  Mac OS: X.  Problem details: Wireless icon blinks for several seconds, then turns off.  Attempted to setup wireless connection using Finder, then Applications, then System Preferences, then Print & Fax, then Open Print Queue.  When I click on Utility, there is no option for HTMLConfig.  Also, unable to find instructions for printing network configuration page or performing wireless network test.  This printer was working successfully, wirelessly, at my former home.  Thank you in advance for your help!

It sounds like the printer just needs to be added to the new network.
Uninstall the printer software completely and follow the steps for your OS X version in this document from HP.
What OS X version is being used?
What brand and model is the router?

    Hi All,
This is the first time iam establishing Federal Portal and i have done with all the configuration steps ie

Now i want to check it by creating some iviews etc.. But i dont know and not getting how to create it and test.
Could any body telthe steps to create I views in Consumers and how to test SSO and how to use COnsumers.
    Points wil be assigned.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Akash..

    Hi Akash,
    Steps you need to take:
    - Setup trust between consumer and producer portal by exchanging certificates and making Visual Administrator entries in the Security Provider Service.
    - Create producer.
    - Register producer.
See this document for good descriptions of steps to take:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70191d1e-2bd1-2a10-d9b7-ba19500da527
Also for remote role assignment in NW 7.0 SP15 you need to add some UME Actions to a role that is aasigned to pcd_service user. See following link for the material:

  • OraOLEDB not appearing as an option in the 'Providers' list SQL Server 2008

    Hi there,
I'm trying to create a linked server to an Oracle 10g database from SQL Server 2008 R2, but the required OraOLEDB.oracle driver is not appearing in the list of providers. We are trying to recreate our prod environment where we use the 11g client to connect to the 10g db, so I downloaded the installed the 11gClient ODADC (11.1.0.7). I have the Oracle folder in my 'Start' menu (Windows 2008 O/S), and it looks like the Oracle install was successful but in the registry (regedit) I don't see Oracle listed as 'software' in the local_machine/software listing.
I set my Oracle home to C:\Oracle and the path under there is
    product\11.1.0\client_1
I've also read in some other posts that I should have both a 32 bit and 64 bit Oracle driver installed - I'm assuming that 11g is 64-bit and 9i is 32 bit?
Should I be able to install just the client or do I need to install the Server as well?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance for...

I figured this out - we didn't have the 64-bit version of the driver.
