Providing help
We are looking for a tool for displaying help from a fortè application.
Considering our target clients, a multiplatform tool is needed ( w95/NT &
unix plat).
We have taken into account an html document browser, launched ( via
runcommand for instance ) from the fortè desktop. In this case we have to
look for a very light browser, considering current commercial ones (
netscape/internet explorer ) memory requirements.
Moreover, does anyone know what tool fortè uses for providing help to
developers ( on win95/NT and unix plat )?
Any experiences or suggestions ?
Thanks
Fabrizio
Hi,
open the view layer project properties. Select "Resource Bundle" and set the ResourceBundleType to XLIFF. Note that the Default Project Bundle name points to the package (which translates to the folder in the project) that holds the XLIFF file. It is in the document you pointed to but could have been mentioned more explicit, I agree

How to i provide help to another imac user over the computer
How to i provide onscreen help to another imac user over the computer?
Hi,
If you both have iChat or Messages you can use it's Screen Sharing abilities.
You can do this AIM to AIM (Screen Names that are valid with the AIM service which includes some Apple Issued Apple ID names - although this can be version dependent)
You can also do it Jabber ID to Jabber ID.
Jabber IDs include Google Mail IDs set up for Google talk and Facebook Accounts with Chat Enabled.
Check you can Video chat with the person as it takes a similar amount of Bandwidth (the bit of the Internet Speed you computer gets).
You needs to Enable Screen Sharing in the Video Menu of iChat or the Messages app in Mountain Lion.
Highlight the Buddy in the Buddy list and use the icon at the bottom of the Buddy list (It will offer your to them or them to you)
You can also use the Buddies menu when a Buddy is highlighted.
It is also possible to "switch" to Screen Sharing in a Video chat.
In reality it instantly closes the Video chat and Starts the Screen Share.
It does not have the ability to "Switch" back as closing the Screen Share close the connection.
Screen Sharing includes a Audio Chat alongside (Technically it is an Audio Chat with an Apple Remote Desktop type VNC connection. The Apple Remote Desktop engine provides the "Desktop" "Pics").
To do this VNC part you router will need to be using UPnP (Or Port Mapping Protocol in Apple Base Stations)
AS Video chats and Audio chats use the same ports to connect it means that if you can Video your can Screen Share

[email protected]You can not have win98 installed at the beginning of the disk, or installed at all, because both win98 and solaris 8 need to be installed at the beginning of the first disk.
your choices are
1. install solaris 7 instead of 8.
2. format the disk, creat 3 partitions, use the first one to install solaris 8, then win2000, and linux, say byebye to win98.

Can someone who uses Cox as their internet provider help me with settings?
I need help from someone that can give me the settings that will allow me to send emails when I'm away from home.
I keep getting error messages that say: cannot connect to Edge network. And, cannot connect to smtp.east.cox.net.
I have tried changing my outgoing mail server host name to cwmx.com but, then I am unable to receive or send mail when I'm at home connected to wi fi.
What I'm I doing wrong?Go to Google and create a free GMAIL account. They have instructions there on setting the account to act as an SMTP relay for your mail. Recipients will still see the mail as coming from your Cox account. This is not a Cox-unique issue. Many ISPs prevent outgoing mail from originating outside their physical network to prevent spammers from inserting mail onto the internet through their mail servers.

Moving data from a subVI to mainVI - example code provided, help needed!
Hi all, I've written a set of VIs that are a part of a larger program, but I've come to a bit of a stumbling point and would appreciate some assistance. The VI's are attached. The mainVI calls subVI with a simple conditional. When the subVI runs, it is used to generate an array that will be passed back to mainVI for use elsewhere in the program.
There are several things that I would like to have happen:
I want the 'load params' button in subVI to pass the array back to mainVI without having to close the subVI.
Is it possible to still use shift registers and do this somehow??
I want the subVI to be able to remain open in the background if the user chooses, or to be able to be shut if the user chooses.
I can't figure out how to do this.
I'm open to suggestions, even if they include radically altering the way that the program is written.
thanks,
-z

Dennis Knutson wrote:
the attachment still didn't make it but there are a couple of ways you can do it without closing the subVI and using the wire. You can write to a global vairable in the subVI and read it in the main. You can create a control reference of an indicator of the main VI, wire this to the subVI and write to the reference's value property. You can start the subVI with an invoke node (run method) and then in the main, read the subVI's indicators with a Get Control Value (Variant) method. See this very recent post on the same subject for examples of the first two techniques.
1) I don't want to use globals.
2) If I use control references, then there's really no need to use the shift registers as I have them set up... correct? Basically I'll just be writing to an indicator that's in the mainVI. I can then use that information however I please. The problem I have with this is that I was really trying to avoid using references. I think that they're quite difficult to follow when your trying to diagnose a problem or if you need to write very clean code that will be easy for someone else to read.
3) the 'get control value' sounds interesting, but I want subVI to control when the data is passed to mainVI, so I don't think this is the proper approach. Am I incorrect?
also -- I've gone through the other threads on this topic many times before I posted this. Some of them are helpful, some of them are less so. Anyway, I couldn't not find an answer to the question about being able to maintiain the use of shift registers for this type of approach??

Providing help with XLIFF files
There is an example at [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31973/af_message.htm |http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31973/af_message.htm ] that shows how to create XLIFF-based help on chapter *16.5.2 How to Create XLIFF-Based Help*.
The example says, that an XLIFF-file should be created but not in which directory, how to name it and how it should be referenced.
Does anybody know how to do this?

Hallow I use the logical data base pnpce and their I use provide_form_last
My problem is I wont all the data where
Persg = 6 and 7 and 8.
Now I doing delete after that but it take a lot performance to
take the data before
How can I solved it ?
maybe in where but how?
rp_provide_from_last t_0001 ' ' sy-datum sy-datum. "pa0001

wa_person_tab-persk = t_0001-persk.
wa_person_tab-orgeh = t_0001-orgeh.
DELETE person_tab WHERE ( persg <> '6' AND persg <> '7' AND persg <> '8' ).Hi there. Instead of writing every person and then going in at the end to delete the ones without the persg values that you want, you could simply reject the ones who don't have the right values:
rp_provide_from_last pa0001 space sy-datum sy-datum.
IF pa0001-persg = 6 or pa0001-persg = 7 or pa0001-persg = 8.
wa_person_tab-stell = pa0001-stell.
wa_person_tab-werks = pa0001-werks.
wa_person_tab-persg = pa0001-persg.
wa_person_tab-orgeh = pa0001-orgeh.

Hi Guys
we are on BI 7 ... I have to make a date calculation in the query which is made from a Multiprovider.
This Multiprovider has 7 cubes. For this date calculation some of the navigational attributes are missing,
so I have enhanced the data sources and replicated and created info objects for those nav attr and loaded the
masterdata.
my first calculation is like this : Date2 - Date 1
where Date2 is available as nav attr of sales ord item and Date 1 is available as nav attr of Delivery Item
sales ord item is available in all the cubes ,so in every cube I have switched on the date2 as nav attr.
Delivery Item is available only in one cube so I switched on Date1 as nav attr in that cube.
Now If I create a formula in query with this two dates as : date2- date1 ...
Can I get the expected result...as date 1 is not available in all the cubes ?
regardsHi
Execute the query with both the dates...as Multiprovider works on union operator,your result should appear properly
Take charecteristics and keyfigurs from the cube which is having delivery item and which is not having delivery item and make the check
It should not appear like this
100-3243-#
100-#-343
If the # symbol is not coming in your results your date1-date2 calculation can work
You can create a variable for the particular charecteristics and create a restricted kf which restricts the date 2 and date1 can be used

I remember seeing a post a few months ago on how to get the tabs to work
independently. Right now the content is just mirrored between them. I would
like to separate the content between the tabs, but I don't remember how to
enable that. Anyone remember? Also, is there a way to create tabs and
organize the content on a domain or role level so new users automatically
get predefined tabs with content already selected?
Thanks

Can we use more than one Help Provider class in a same project in ADF11g
Hi All,
There are two help providers i want to use .They are "ResourceBundleHelpProvider","OHW Help Provider"
In adf-settings.xml file
<help-provider>
<help-provider-class>oracle.adf.view.rich.help.ResourceBundleHelpProvider</help-provider-class>
<property>
<property-name>baseName</property-name>
<value>com.symmetry.dashboard.panels.Help</value>
</property>
</help-provider>
if try to register both help providers confliction occurs. Is it possible to register and use more than one help provider.?
Thanks in advance.:)Thanks Frank,
In adf-settings.xml file
<help-provider>
<help-provider-class>oracle.adf.view.rich.help.ResourceBundleHelpProvider</help-provider-class>
<property>
<property-name>baseName</property-name>
<value>com.symmetry.dashboard.panels.Help</value>
</property>
</help-provider>
<help-provider prefix="RB_">
<help-provider-class>oracle.help.web.rich.helpProvider.OHWHelpProvider</help-provider-class>
<property>
<property-name>ohwConfigFileURL</property-name>
<value>/myHelpset/config.xml</value>
</property>
<property>
<property-name>baseURI</property-name>
<value>http://127.0.0.1:7101/Dashboard_workflow/myHelpset/%3c/value>
</property>
</help-provider>
I differentiated the help providers with the "prefix" attribute in the <help-provider> tag. So now confliction is not occuring between those.
I used this prefix in the "helpTopicId" property of the adf components like "input text box" . I got the result. :) -

Welcome to Discussions, babybella03
(1) If merely restarting your Mac does not correct the problem, try all relevant suggestions from:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
(2) If your iSight problem occurs in more than one app and more than one user account, the reset suggested there often restores proper function of inbuilt iSight.
(3) However, if after carefully following all the suggestions in the "How to Troubleshoot iSight" article, your built-in iSight still does not work, and if it does not show as a USB device in your Mac's System Profiler, yours is most likely a hardware problem. In that case, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.
(4) If your iSight is working with Apple's apps but you are still having difficulty with a video-enabled website (like "myspace") while no other apps are using iSight, your browswer's Flash plug-in settings may need to be configured to allow your iSight to function with there.
To determine whether this is your problem, navigate to the video website of interest. If you do not immediately see a pop-up "Adobe Flash Player Settings" dialog box, put your mouse pointer over the video window that is playing and control-click. This should open the dialog box.
Adjust the "Settings" in the Flash dialog box as follows:
• Click on the webcam icon.
• Select the "USB Video Class Video" Camera setting.
(External iSight users would need to set the webcam camera setting to "IIDC Firewire Video".)
• You can then click on the microphone icon to set your "Microphone," "Record Volume," and "Reduce Echo" settings.
• You should also click the privacy icon and verify that the "Allow" button is selected. If "Deny" is selected, you will not be able to send or recored video or audio.
• Close the dialog box and see if the video website works for you now.
If the above does not solve your problem, see the website help or FAQ section to determine how to make this site work with your system. Many live video sites have unique requirements. The FAQs or Help links at their sites should give you the best answers for your compatibility, configuration, and operating questions concerning their particular operations. Some of these sites offer email or live chat technical support or their own dedicated user Discussions fora to provide help using their particular websites.

Really need advice on it.Without formatting using [ PRE ] and [ /PRE ] tags it is nearly impossible to read much less provide help.
But what is it you hope to accomplish by breaking it up into smaller views?
Improvements in ease of maintenance will likely be offset by poorer performance. -
My Firefox version is 13.0.1. I'm using Windows 7. Adobe Flash Player version is 11.3.300.265. A few minutes after opened the Firefox, suddenly it crashed and a blue screen showed up, it says there are unexpected error occured and forced my computer to be stopped. I need to restart the computer to see either it still show the blue screen or it just fine. After restarted, I use the Firefox once again, but this time, after about 30 minutes, it crashed again. The same blue screen showed up. As I expected, the new Adobe Flash Update crashes with the Firefox 13.0.1. Really need a solution here. Thank you.
Hi,
Blue screens usually indicate Windows system level problems involving device drivers like graphics card drivers, hardware errors (RAM, hard drive) etc. Malware may also cause this. Searching for the displayed error code would usually provide helpful pointers. The [http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us Windows forum] would also be helpful.
