'provisioning profile has expired'

When I try to open application on my ipad 2(wifi only), it says 'provisioning profile has expired'  I created my profile just now though. What should I do to resolve this. Thank you

Thank you for your reply. I didn't read the instructions as well as I thought I had. It is necessary to remove the old profile by navigating to Settings>General>Profiles on the iPad and deleting the expired profile.
There were two different web pages with different instructions. The instructions on the download page linked to the users manual which was written when her employer initially released the application and said nothing about removing the old profile. However the page that linked me to the download page had a paragraph with instructions to remove the profile. I didn't read that far before clicking the link to the download page.
Anyway it works now. Thank you very much.

  • Application cannot be opened beacouse provisioning profile has expired

    what should i do?

Clearing cookies will do nothing to fix this.
What is the app? Provisioning profiles sare used by developers to distribute applications to testers or by companies distributing enterprise apps internally to their employees. In either case, the profile has an expiration date. If your are getting this message, the app will not run until the developer or company provides a new version of the app with a non-expired provisioning profile.

  • Profile has expired

I just renewed my ios development program and my contract is active as of now! But my team provisioning profile still says "Profile has expired". I tried to refresh my profile, still no success! Do I have to remove this profile and add a new profile or renew this profile, if so how? Would appreciate every piece of advise and thanks!

  • Renew Provisioning Profile

    Hi,
I purchased an iPhone developer certificate (provisioning profile) in October 2008. The iPhone that the provisioning profile is installed on now indicates that the provisioning profile has expired. After three months.
How do I renew the provisioning profile? Some of the posts indicate to go to the "Program Portal" and click on the "Renew" button.
    My questions:
What is the URL of the program portal?
Why does the profile expire after just three months?
    Thanks,
    SyB

Since you are a registered developer, you should have access to the iPhone/iPod Touch developer discussions area and a direct contact link to Apple for registered developers.

  • Regarding provisioning profile expiration

    Hi,
My membership Account for iOS Developer Enterprise Program is active
I have Created Enterprise Certificate and Provisining profile(in house distribution)
Provisioning Profile is valid for 1 year
I have signed about 40 Apps using this Certificate and Profile.
I have tested in the device, it was working fine.
After one year, Enterprise Provisioning Profile got expired.
I have renewed the Enterprise Provisiong profile and now it is extended for one more year
Will all the 40 apps work on the device?
Do i need to resign with renewed Enterprise Provisioning profile for all 40 apps?
    Regards
    Venkatesh

I'm retired, so I don't have any IT folks to blame. Is this profile something an app has created? If so, is there any way to find out what app created it, so I can contact the developer?
The "CST" in the message makes me wonder if it has to do with the upcoming time change, but March 8 is six days short of the time change.

  • UniversalDistribution Provisioning Profile Expiring

    Hello!
If my universal distribution provisioning profile expires before I redeploy our app will the app continue to run?
Or do I need to regenerate a new one with a future expiration date and redeploy it before it expires?
This is a matter of production deployment timing.  The provisioning profile will expire before our next scheduled corporate deploy and I'm concerned that 400 iPad users corporate app will not run.
    Can anyone provide some clarity?
I have read elsewhere that the app will continue to run but cannot be redeployed until the Provisioning Profile is regenerated witha future date.
    Is this true?
    Thanks!
    Scott

Contact Verizon to get clear details about this. That would be your best move.

  • Difference between Developer provisioning profile and a Distribution one

With both a Developer provisioning profile and a Distribution Ad Hoc provisioning profile, an app can be installed on a designated device.
Is the only practical difference between the two kinds the fact that the Developer provisioning profile eventually expires?

A compiled class has two concealed initialisation methods, class initialization <clinit> and instance initialization <init>.
These are created by concatenating initialisation blocks and initial value clauses associated with fields of the class in the order they appear in the source.
Class initialisation is performed the first time a class is "actively used", which means either by accessing a static field or member or by instanciating the class. It's performed first, and the initialisation methods are syncrhonized on the class, so that the class is effectively locked until it finishes.
The normal sequence of isntantiating the class is:
    1) Call <clinit> if it hasn't been called.
    2) Allocate the space for the instance and clear the fields to zero/null
    3) Call <init>
    4) Execute the constructor
    <init> first calls super.<init>

  • Provisioning Profile Expiration Pop-up

When I woke up my iPhone this morning it had this message on the screen:
    Provisioning Profile Expiration
Provisioning Profile "CST Ad Hoc" will expire in 13 days.
    [Remind Me] [Show Me]
I tapped Show Me, and got this:
    Settings
    General
    Profile
    Provisioning
    CST Ad Hoc
    Verified [Remove]
    Received Aug 22, 2009
    Expires Mar 8, 2010 (in 13 days)
Do I need to do anything about this?
    Thanks for your assistance!

  • When an AIR for iOS provisioning profile expires ...

I'm unclear about what happens to an installed iOS app when the provisioning profile OR the signing certificate expires. We're talking about an app that was published and installed with valid Enterprise Distribution credentials before the expiration date.
Will the app stop working when the profile expires? If the certificate expires before the provisioning profile will the app stop working when the certificate expires?  Or, in either case, will the app keep working and be simply not re-publishable until the credentials are brought up to date?

The app son't launch anymore.  At least, that is what happens with my test/development apps if i try and launch them after the PP has expired.  You need to install a new PP on the device to get it to continue to work.  I'm sure it'd be the same with enterprise?  I'm not sure what happens when the certificate expires though!
There's a stack overflow on it here.

  • Has anyone received the removing provisioning profile will change settings on your iPone?

I just received an alert that my Provisioning Profile Expiration "ci_4065laurene" will expire in 29 days.  I have no idea what that means.  It's the original iPhone 2G on the Edge network. Running 3.1.3 (7E18) purchased in 2007. Everything works great and still has the original battery.  AT&T said call apple and they said it's probably and APP that will expire.

I've received a message on my iPad that says "The provisioning profile Enterprise Open ID will expire in 3 days" and I have no idea what that means.  The screen opens up to the General, Profile screen then has a place that would allow me to "Remove" this but I have no idea what this means.  Can anyone help?

I have the same message, and NO, an IT Department has not installed software on this device.  This is my personal iPad.

  • Completely stuck with provisioning profiles which have expired - any ideas?

My various certs and provisioning profiles seem to have expired, so I tried recreating them and so on, but I can't build anything now for the following error:
    Checking Dependencies
CodeSign error: a valid provisioning profile is required for product type 'Application' in SDK 'Device - iPhone OS 2.0'
I cleaned out all the old provisioning profiles from the Xcode organizer.
In the dev portal, I created new certs for myself for distribution and for app store distribution and installed them in my keychain. And I made sure the provisioning profiles contained the app id. (So many terms I am getting mixed up, but trying to keep them all straight.)
In the Xcode organizer I installed the developers provisioning profile in my iPhone.
Also in the Xcode organizer I installed the developers provisioning profile and the app store distribution profile under "provisioning profiles". Neither show any warnings or errors. And I can select either one in the app target's "Code Signing Identity". Both show up in the popup menu and look fine there.
But when I try to build for app store distribution or for my device I get that error above.
I am stuck as to what I might check next. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    doug

I've spent all day on this and haven't progressed an iota. I am in provisioning profile h*ll.
It's not like I'm a rank beginner - my friend and I have 8 apps up at the app store already and have been doing this since September. But since these certs expired, I just haven't been able to get moving again.
Everything works just fine in the simulator, but I can't generate a build for the iPhone or the app store without the error mentioned in my first message occurring.
Nobody else is having problems after their certs or developer provisioning profiles expire when they try to generate and install new ones?
I downloaded the most recent iPhone Developer Program User Guide v2.4 and went page-by-page, step-by-step doing everything from scratch, but it just doesn't seem to work anymore.
    ...sigh...

  • Provisioning profiles set to expire

My profiles and certifications are set to expire next week. I am very confused about what to do, and when I go to the Apple site, it's all greek to me (I'm a print designer by training).
I"m trying to load a new app, using my old provisioning, which is set to expire next week.
do I revoke the old ones, and create new ones? Does that make my older app not work?
the documentation for DPS is great, but it only covers how to create the initial p12s etc. I need to know how to  to renew an expiring provisioning profile or create a new one and replace.
    any thoughts?

    Hi Lisa
    (I know what you mean!)
you just need to renew the provisioning profiles in the iOS Provisioning Portal, re-download them and use those ones when creating the app.
I know it's quite scary, but even if you cock it all up, you can re-create everything and download again, so not much can go wrong really.
The certs are indeed a bit more scary, I dont even know if I'm doing it right as I have one cert for dev and one for dist, and all the profiles sit within the single cert. So when it came to renew, I revoked them, reexported from keychain, and then added the provisioning profiles back in again.
Dont use the above description as an exact guide, as my memory is so bad, each time I do things it's like ground hog day, and I'm doing it all from scratch again! But I hope this helps....
