Proxy address/port for Photosmart 7520 e-all

what is a proxy settings? Where do I find address and port information?

Hi @Remantas317,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are wondering what are proxy settings, and where you can find the address and port information? I am happy to look into this for you!
Quoting: http://www.whatismyip.com/what-is-a-proxy/:
Proxy Server. A proxy or proxy server is basically another computer which serves as a hub through which internet requests are processed. By connecting through one of these servers, your computer sends your requests to the proxy server which then processes your request and returns what you were wanting.
Please see this post, Incoming and Outgoing Printer Ports, by @VisionAiry.
Some questions for you:
Are you experiencing problems with connecting your printer to your computer/or other devices?
Are you able to make copies with the printer? Copy Text or Mixed Documents.
Hope this information helps, and hope to hear from you soon!

HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer - WHEN i AM TRYING TO MAKE A COPY COPY OF AN A4 DOCUMENT WITH A4 PAPER INSTALLED.  iT KEEPS PUTTING THROUGH A BLANK SHEET AND SAYING INCORRECT PAPER SIZE.   HELP!!
I HAVE CHECKED FOR UPDATED SOFTWARE ETC, CLEANED THE GLASS, TURNED OFF AND ON ETC - NO LUCK.
Why is it such a major task just to photocopy one standard piece of A4 paper with just a letter contained no photos etc or anything too tasking.
    Any help much appreciated

    Hey there @SMFTEDDY ,
I saw your thread and messages and wanted to add to it. I have checked the Copy Menu on the printer itself (below), and it does not contain the option to copy in A4 size. You might just have to use the work around scanning method recommended above to get to use the A4 size you wish to use with the Photosmart 7520.
    Good luck

  • HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer

My HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer cuts off the last 1/2 inch when printing. I tried a hard start but that didn`t work. i`m thinking it has something to do with the heads.

Look to your software. My hp has an "advanced" options after you hit printer preferences.  the advanced way down bottom of sceen.  Then half-way down something about print with borders - Change it to print boderless. If that not help chaNGE pAPER-SIZE IN  FIRST SCREEN.  fROM 0.5 INCH TRY 0.15. Recall all desktop printers must have space for the mechanical grips to grap the blank paper and pull it into the rollers.  Big expensive desk-size use a vacuum to "pull" paper. If and when you printer no pull paper, pull the rear "duplexer" and clean rollers.  May not be reccommended.  I used cloth towel with 90% rubbibg alcohol  - $!.00 in most drug stores.  Kleenex and such may leave "lint".  Worked for me. Good luck

  • What are the PROXY SETTINGS (port) for HP Photosmart printer 7520 ???

CANNOT   FIND  THE  CORRECT  PORT  ( proxy  setting )  for  my
    HP  7520  Photosmart  PRINTER???

    Hi torino71,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you would like to know which proxy settings to set for your HP Photosmart 7520. I was able to find a great thread from a fellow Community member windrunner123, see below:
In some network setup, proxy settings may need to be configured on the printer to enable connection to the Internet.
    1. Make sure the printer is on a network and must have an IP address assigned by a Network Router or a DHCP server. Alternatively, you may also configure the printer to use a static IP address.  Check and retrieve the IP address of the printer from the Home Screen menu selection: Network -> View Network Summary -> View Wired (or View Wireless)  or Setup -> Network > View Network Summary (depending on printer model)
    2. In a web browser on your computer, type the IP address or hostname that has been assigned to your printer.
    3. Go to the Network Tab > Proxy Settings and enter the proxy settings into the fields and click Apply button.  You may have to check with your ISP or IT Administrator for the correct Proxy Setting.
As well as the port settings below you will want your router company to make sure that multicasting is enabled, bonjour protocol needs to be enabled, make sure that mac filtering is disabled, and have them check if there are any firmware updates for the router, and check firewalls on the router to make sure not blocking the communication
The following ports are also used by your HP device and might need to be opened on your firewall configuration
Incoming ports (UDP) are destination ports on the computer while outgoing ports (TCP) are destination ports on the HP device:
    Incoming (UDP) ports
    137, 138, 161, 427
    Outgoing (TCP) ports
    137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500
The ports are used for the following functions:
    Printing
    UDP ports 427, 137 161
    TCP port 9100
    Photo card upload
    UDP ports 137 138 427
    TCP 139
    Scanning
    UDP port 427
    TCP 9220, 9500
    Faxing
    UDP port 427
    TCP port 9220
    HP Device Installation
    UDP port 427
    Web Services
    80, 443, 5222 and 5223
I hope this helps! If you have any more questions please let me know.
    Thank you,

    portmap [base-port base_number|disable|enable|number-of-ports number|vip-address-range number]
    disable
Instructs the CSS to perform Network Address Translation (NAT) only on the source IP addresses and not on the source ports of UDP traffic hitting a particular source group. This option does not affect TCP flows.
For applications with high-numbered assigned ports (for example, SIP and WAP), we recommend that you preserve those port numbers by configuring destination services in source groups. Destination services cause the CSS to NAT the client source ports, but not the destination ports.
Note If you disable flows for a UDP port using the flow-state table and configure the portmap disable command in a source group, traffic for that port that matches on the source group does not successfully traverse the CSS.
The CSS maintains but ignores any base-port or number-of ports (see the options above) values configured in the source group. If you later reenable port mapping for that source group, any configured base-port or number-of ports values will take effect. The default behavior for a configured source group is to NAT both the source IP address and the source port for port numbers greater than 1023.
There is no possibility to disable it for TCP.
We need to source nat the port to guarantee that the server response comes back on the same module/CPU and the internal packet allocation algorithm is based on src and dst ports.µ

    ===========================================================================
If the issue is only one of the jobs being stuck in the printer queue on the computer, then the following might help:
    The direct approach:
Open a Windows Explorer (called File Explorer in Windows 8.x)
    Navigate to folder: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS **
Delete any files you find in the PRINTERS folder
** When you try to click into the PRINTERS folder, you may see a warning message about permission, Click through and / or enter the Administrator level password to gain access to the folder
One method to restart the spooler:

  • HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Embedded Web Server (EWS) Does Not Respond

My new (as of 3/14/2014) 7520 is connected (wirelessly) to an all-Apple wireless network. with four computers (and, at times, two iPhones) sharing that network.
While I can print to the 7520 and also scan from it, I cannot access the 7520's Embedded Web Server, no matter what I try.
I have located the 7520's IP address on its display and entered it into the Safari web browser's address field as 192.168.1.7 (with the usual http colon slash slash prefix, of course).    When I hit return, the browser's progress bar appears and then stalls.  After 30 seconds, the progress bar disappears and nothing else happens.
While trying to find what might be causing this problem, I have also…
    • disabled the network's (and my computers') firewalls,
    • used the 7520's Bonjour address,
    • tried both addresses using Safari on …
         - a MacBook running OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard),
         - a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.7 (Lion),
         - a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion),
         - a Mac mini running OSX 10.9 (Mavericks), and
         - an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1
         - an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1
    • made sure I was using the latest version of the printer driver software and HP Utility, and
    • used the HP Utility to attempt to access EWS,
…all without success -- that is, on the laptops, nothing is displayed.  On the iPhones, Safari reports that it "could not open the page because the server stopped responding."
Furthermore, although I can turn on and connect to the 7520's Direct Wireless wi-fi channel with my laptops and iPhones, typing the address for the EWS (specified in the printed Network report as http://192/168.223.1) in the browser and pressing Enter again yields the same result.
I had all these problems with a 7520 I bought from a local computer store.  I contacted HP Tech support by chat, spent 4 hours walking through resets and other tests with them, and they decided to send me a new 7520.  I have sent back the first 7520, installed the new one, and the problems persist with the replacement 7520!
What do you think might be wrong here?  Do you have any advise or trouble-shooting guidance?

Okay… I did as you advised — as best as I could, that is… the link you posted yielded a page marked "HP was unable to find the page you wanted."
In any case, I changed the DHCP range to 192.168.1.100 thru 150.
Using the following procedure, I believe I set the 7520 to the static address 192.168.1.10 (using the 7520's control panel, from the home screen)…
      • Tapped the radio (wireless) icon, second from the left on the top bar of the screen.
      • Tapped "Settings" button, lower-left screen.
      • Tapped "Advanced Settings" bar (second fom bottom).
      • Tapped "IP Address" bar (at top).
      • Entered "192.168.001.010" in the IP address field.
      • Pressed the home button icon to the upper left of the display.
      • Tapped the wireless icon in the top bar again and confirmed that the IP address had been changed to … .10
    With that done, I tried
         http://192.168.1.10/
in the browser of a couple of my computers (OS X Lion MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion MacBook Pro).
    Still no joy.
In case you don't alread know, Airport base stations can be set to reserve specific IP addresses for static IP devices or services.  I reserve an IP address for testing database and OS X servers on my network (for clients).  You can reserve as many such IP addresses as you like in the "Network" tab of a base station (using Airport Utility) as shown here…
Based on your advice, I have reserved the … .10 address, as you can see.  Hope this is useful to you.

  • Printing problems for photosmart 7520

I do not have my printer set up as wireless, because I do not have the equipment (router or modem or whatever it might be called) It is plugged into the back of my tower. I assume that means it is not set up as wireless. I only have one computer, no laptops or anything else.
I am not computer literate, I read several other questions and couldn't quite find my exact problem. I have no idea how to find an IP address either.
The printer used to work fine. The blue light always flashed - I assume because I don't have the wireless equipment
the power button next to that is a white color, doesn't change when I press it or when I unplug the cord from the tower.
UNABLE TO COMUNICATE OR FIND NETWORK PRINTER is the message I get. Can you have a network printer with only 1 computer in the house?
The touch screen is black and does not come on.
Windows 7 64 bit operating system
Not sure exactly what this is off back of printer: FPU CZ045-64004
I tried to install updated software, it didn't make any difference.
I installed the HP doctor thing - would not print test page, think I had to choose network or wireless and I don't think either of those apply.
The only thing that I think might have something to do with my problem is I installed a free AVG PC Tune up.
Any help would be appreciated. I am losing my patience, been at this for 4 hours now.

    Hi Christina-D,
I understand that you are having an issue printing with you 7520. I would like to assist with this issue but I do need to clarify a couple of things first so that we are able to narrow down the issue.
First is the printer plugged directly to a wall outlet? If not please plug the printer direct to the wall outlet, so that the printer is getting the right amount of power to work properly.
Second the touch screen on the printer is this black or are you able to see the different icons when the printer is turned on?
Third to test the functionality of the printer, could please print a self test report from the printer itself. I have included a document Printing a Self Test From the 7520
Please let me know the answer to these questions. Thank you.

I have been setting up my new wireless printer for a couple of days.  My printer is connected wirelessly to a network and

I have been trying to set up my web services to e-print and am having some problems.  I have a long printer e-mail

After following instructions to reset a password, it is not coming to my e-mail.  My printer shows that I am connected to web services and that eprint is on.  I just cannot register to e-print on my computer.   I am not sure if this is a printer problem or a computer problem.

I have replaced all of my ink cartridges with genuine HP cartridges.  I keep getting an error message that says that one or more of my cartridges are either damaged or missing.  I also cleaned all of my printer heads.   Amy suggestions?

Hi DF5, Does the error message indicate a particular cartridge as having the problem? Did you get the error message as soon as you replaced your cartridges? If there is a particular cartridge that is causing the error try replacing it with your old cartridge if you still have it. This will indicate if the problem is solely with the cartridge. If the old cartridge works check the metal contact area on the back of your cartridge for dirt or damage (2 below). Also check the corresponding electrical contacts inside the printer (indicated by the blue arrow). If you notice any damage to the contact I would suggest that you contact HP Support for assitance.  Please let me know if any of these steps help resolve your issue. Many Thanks,Francheska
