Proxy.cfg - Correct setting for ResolveProxyIPAddress

According to TID 3988333 the description of this parameter is "Default behaviour is to send an SSL authentication redirect to a host name instead of a IP address. 0 to disable the same. Requires PXY023 or later."
Also, the default setting in Proxy.nlm is 1. However, in Craig's Proxy.cfg he has it set to 0. I would think you would want this to be set to 1, no?
Dan

OK, I had no idea that that is what this parameter pertained to. Now I see what you are talking about with the BorderManager SSL login as an alternative to Client Trust. We don't use that so that is why I didn't understand.
To me this again proves that we need more documentation on what these parameters are and why you would use them. I would agree with you after hearing more background that it should be set to 0.
FYI, the default for 3.9 SP1 proxy is 1! I wonder why Gonzalo thinks this is preferred?

If that's what I think it is, no. I think that has to do with how the
SSL login page shows up on the browser. Default would have it show up
with the server name as a URL. Unfortunately, that also means you need
a DNS entry for the server name. The IP address has always worked,
which is why I set that to 0. (It may be that the problems I've seen
with SSL login failing with server name are related to incorrect host
file entries, but I think it was more widespread than that).
I definitely want the ssl logins redirected to IP address by default. I
might go to a URL if I had purchased a 3rd party certificate,
particularly if using authentication with reverse proxy. But I would be
ironing out DNS issues as well.

  • Correct setting for exchange rates differences

    Hey SAP B1 experts,
I have a problem with automatic generated exchange rates differences in B1.
    Situation:
    - I inserted all correct general ledgers in the g/l account determinations.
    - The seeting in the item masterdata for "set g/l accounts by" is switched to warehouses.
    - In the accounting setting in warehouses I inserted the  p&l general ledger for exchange rates differences.
    - I create a case which includes a exchnage rate difference.
    - For the automatic generated entry the system use the general ledger which is inserted in the setting for "variance account" from the warehouse settings.
Is there any other general setting which is response for the using of the general ledgers for exchange rate differences?
    Help!!
    Regards
    Thomas Bartels

    Hey Shanker,
thank you for your realy quick answer.
In administration -> setup -> inventory -> warehouses I inserted  the correct p&l account for the exchange rate differences in the seeting field "exchange rate differences", but the system don't use this setting. In my test case the system use the account from "variance account".
My questions are on the one hand why and on the other hand is there an other setting for using the correct account setting.
    Regards

Well those screen shots are never going to look very good on a T-shirt print. You could upsize them in Photoshop but they will look rubbish.

  • Correct Setting for changing anamorphic 16:9 to 4:3 in motion tab...

    Hi there,
    I'm new to FCP.
I'm editing a mainly 4:3 sequence, with a couple source clips in Anamorphic 16:9.
By searching the forums I realise I can change the aspect ratio of these source clips in the motion tab.
However, what is the right number on the Aspect ratio slider to correctly change 16:9 ana to 4:3 (letterboxed)?
    Cheers.

    Welcome!
However, what is the right number on the Aspect ratio slider to correctly change 16:9 ana to 4:3 (letterboxed)?
If I understand correctly, you want to letterbox your anamorphic 16:9 in a 4:3 sequence. Under the Motion tab, you should change the Distort setting to either +33 or -33, I can't remember off hand, but you'll know which one it is when you try.

  • Proxy.cfg [Object Cache] section

In the [Object Cache] section of Proxy.cfg I have questions on two parameters:
cut thru no CLH length - The default is 51200 (Proxy Console #63) but Craig's Proxy.cfg sets it to 0. TID 10063926 talks about this but I wonder if this problem isn't fixed in NBM 3.9 SP1 and therefore doesn't need to be set to 0 now? Other TID's (10075563, 10069305 for instance) talk about setting it to 5120. What should be the correct setting for 3.9 SP1?
disk management factor - the default is 400 (Proxy Console #63) but Craig's Proxy.cfg sets it to 4000. Can someone tell me what this does and why it should be set to 4000 instead of 400?
    thanks,

OK - this is not something that is in proxy.cfg at all. These are
settings in NWADMN32/iManager. For instance, the max hot nodes @ 7000
is a default value that is too low for busy servers. (Recommended is
50000). This sounds like you have not configured the server per the
proxy tuning tid, or my BMgr books.

Find the parameters in NWADMN32 (or iMan in BM 3.9) and check the help
there. Also see the proxy tuning tid.

It seems odd at the moment - I've not really looked into it. I know
that when the proxy.cfg setting came out, it fixed a lot of problem
sites at the time. I've left it at the setting which worked for the
    time.

Got it, Craig. I did forget to update some of the settings for the Proxy Cache in iManager. I'll leave the cut thru no CLH length at 0 for now.

  • Best setting for 3D content for Flash

Hello all. I am a Premiere noob that works in Cinema 4D.  I am exporting C4D  animations as QuickTime "animation" files. (.mov)  These videos are highly  detailed pixel-precise renders. I want to bring them into Premier with this  level of pixel precision, yet I cant seem to find the correct setting to ensure  they import and play back "ice cold." They tend to look slightly blurry in the  preview. The renders are for a specific flash size and are set to 874x480.
Can someone help me with the correct setting for the movie? Please... The  content is so beautiful, I don't want to sacrifice any quality. I have the  latest version of PP. Thank you for any help you can give.

Thanks for the help sir.  This is actually for a huge project. I'll post the  link here in a week or so.  Be sure to check it out.  We're all good now.  Ice  cold.  - No blurriness.  Its too bad I was able to do this years ago without any  issue.  Video codec's and technology sure have changed drastically in the past  few years.  There's a real learning curve for those who are not daily users.
    -B
A side note I learned in this process: Cinema 4D users should not export their Quciktime (.mov) files from Premiere Pro as Uncompressed AVI.  It just screws up the pixel precision. Not sure why.  Just use the old school .avi and the advice above. The renders will be perfect.

  • Which Playback Setting for 1080P

    Right setup is:
    Blackmage Decklink HD
    Final Cut Studio 2
    External Monitor connected through HD-SDI
    Footage XDCAM-EX 1080P 25fps
My question is purely to do with External Playback. The sequence we are editing in is fine because we just match settings.
So in External Playback Settings which one do we choose from the List.
    We normally shoot 1080 50i - so i normally choose "Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 25hz 10bit 1920 x 1080" and all works fine.
However I want to choose a progressive setting to make sure playback on monitor is perfect but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent setting in the presets.
There are 1080P settings but they aren't 25hz but 24 and 23.xxx settings which when we choose means the monitor will only show a still. Which normally indicates and incompatible mode.
At the moment we are using the 1080i setting and it looks pretty good but "appears" to be a little motion blurred which i assume is the incorrect interlacing setting.
Any help would be much appreciated.. and do let me know you need more information.
    Cheers
    Rob

Thanks for the reply guys much apprecaited.. the monitory we are using is a Sony LMD2450. Which I hope is a nice monitor as it cost enough and lets us view at full pixels. We are connected to it using HD-SDI
    http://www.sony.co.uk/biz/view/ShowProduct.action?product=LMD-2450W
Glad we have the correct setting for Blackmagic and think any slight weirdness in movement was us just expecting there to be some because of the setting.
Sorry to ask another question but is there any good tutorials about setting up a monitor to work with FCP eg. for Colour Correction applications...
    Cheers and thanks again

  • Correct Configuration for extending a wireless network

I live in a brick and mortar double story house. Its built like a farady cage and radio signals really have a hard time. unfortunately, I also live in a 3rd world country where running ethernet through the house is not an option.
I have bought 2 X Airport Extreme (simultaneous dual band II) firmware version 7.5.1 and one time capsule (simultaneous dual band II) also firmware 7.5.1 with the intention of wirelessly etending the network throughout the house.
The internet access is provided through a huawei e920 3g HSDPA router in the garage with a high gain antenna on the roof (full signal, HSPA).
The wireless on the huwai is disabled and it connects to the first Extreme with port 1 on ethernet. The Huwaei is set to provide DHCP.
    Question:
    1) What should be the first device in sequence? An extreme or the time capsule, i.e which of the three should connect directly to the Huawei via ethernet?
    2) When setting this up, i am asked questions about bridged or NAT, while I have some technical knowledge, I don't know the correct answer to this.
    3) What is a reasonable coverage are to expect? If all devices are on the ground floor, how many feet could I expect in range as a minimum (I wont hold you to any specifics
    4) If I use the extend network feature, do I still halve the available throughput for each device I add, as is the case with standard WDS on other brands?
    5) What is the maximum number of extremes of the same specification I can add to extend the network through the house?
The reason I am asking, is that I have tried some configurations, however, I can never seem to get higher throughput than 600kbs.
    Please help.

    Welcome to the discussions!
+1) What should be the first device in sequence? An extreme or the time capsule, i.e which of the three should connect directly to the Huawei via ethernet?+
Your choice here. If the Time Capsule is going to be centrally located, then it would make sense to make it the "main" router.
+2) When setting this up, i am asked questions about bridged or NAT, while I have some technical knowledge, I don't know the correct answer to this.+
If the Huwaei is set to provide DHCP services, then the correct setting for the device that is connected to it is "bridge mode".
+3) What is a reasonable coverage are to expect? If all devices are on the ground floor, how many feet could I expect in range as a minimum (I wont hold you to any specifics+
In general, with line-of-sight available between the devices, you could position them 25-40 feet apart. With obstructions, you may need to place them closer to maintain signal strength.
+4) If I use the extend network feature, do I still halve the available throughput for each device I add, as is the case with standard WDS on other brands?+
The "extend" setup will maintain "n" wireless speeds with a bandwidth loss of perhaps 10-15% per device on average. WDS will drop the entire network down to "g" levels and halve the bandwidth for each "remote" device that you use. You would not want to use WDS.
+5) What is the maximum number of extremes of the same specification I can add to extend the network through the house?+
Apple does not furnish documentation on this, but a good hint might that AirPort Utility, the application used to configure all the devices, will display a total of 5 devices. If you think about the fact that you will be losing 10-15% bandwidth with each extending device, I would not exceed a total of 5 devices including your main router unless you plan to connect them using ethernet, not wireless.

  • Manual setting for dynet ddr2 667 memory

i have msi p4m900m2 my problem is whenever i set the dram clock to auto or 667 in cmos my windows wont run and restart unexpectedly. but if i lower the clock to only 533 it will run. i just want to try to set the advanced dram configuration manually. what is the correct setting for dynet ddr2 667? 512mb

What I could find about that RAM is it's close to the bottom of the heap like that stuff that sells on eBay for $15-$20 a stick and it works or it doesn't. You take a gamble when you buy it. I search some other forums that ended up to be for the most part in India and the consensus was it's just about the worst stuff you can get.

  • GPO is set for "Auto download and notify for install" but it does not work correctly on two of my servers.

    Hello,
I have a problem with two of my servers. I have ~200 servers which are updating fine through WSUS. The settings are as you can see "3 - Auto download and notify for install" in the GPO.
This is the correct setting. I want to achieve that I can install the updates whenever I want on these servers. On client computers there is a strict schedule with auto installs.
My GPO works fine for 98% of my servers. On two servers (a big file server and a TMG server) the settings are made as you can see in the screenshots, but the updates still get installed automatically.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here... It is a big problem for me that updates get installed automatically on these servers.
Although the Policy and the Registry both say 3 the server behaves like option 4 is active.
I would be very thankful for any input on how to find out what's the issue here.

and was not able to find any sign of an admin installing it in the WindowsUpdate.log.
Then the Windows Update Agent DID NOT install this update, and it's not really a WSUS issue.
My typical response to such a claim would be to ask you to show me in the WindowsUpdate.log where the update was installed... but it seems that request has already been answered.
The more relevant question it seems, is HOW DID these updates allegedly get installed?

    Hi all!
I'm trying to use PHC to undervoltage my cpu, but I can't find how to set the correct voltages.
I installed phc-intel from AUR and /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/phc_controls file contains the following line:
    33:0 22:0 20:0 19:0 18:0 17:0 16:0 15:0 14:0 13:0 12:0 11:0 10:0 9:0 8:0
    While in /etc/conf.d/phc-intel there's:
    # voltage IDs to be set for all CPUs
    VIDS=""
I read the wiki page about PHC, but I found only this:
[...]After the phc module is compiled and the lowest voltages are found[...]
    and it's not really helpful...
    Can anyone help me?
My CPU is an Intel i2720 processor.

It seems that it's quite useless: it determines the lowest available voltage, but starting from 0 it sets 0 for each FID. The question is: how can the voltage be zero???
It isn't. I remember reading about this on the ubuntuforums thread about it a few years ago. Basically, if it let's you go to 0, it means that the hardware wont accept values below its actual minimum. So it's okay for you to set your FIDs to 0 because your hardware will just go to its minimum.
