Proxy Server / http redirect problem

I am trying to use a WLS instance as a proxy server for another WLS instance.
I have configured the weblogic.properties file as follows:
weblogic.httpd.register.proxy=weblogic.t3.srvr.HttpProxyServlet
weblogic.httpd.initArgs.proxy=redirectURL=http://url:port
weblogic.httpd.defaultServlet=proxy
However, I try to serve the page, I get a 404 error.
The odd thing is though, if I submit the URL without the page name, I am redirected to show the index listing of the remote server!
Am I missing something?

    Help!  I was cruzing along just fine and went out tonight only to receive the message above:
    Cannot open Page
    Safari cannot open the page
    The error was: "There was a problem communicating with the web proxy server (HTTP)."
    I have had all the Apple iPhone phone.  Have never encountered anything like this.
    All systems are GO as soon as I log on to wifi.
    Can anyone help, please.

    I am also fixed.  I also loaded Onavo, but that was the other day ... this is what I did with the help of online chat with AT&T ...
    I went to:
    Settings
    Wifi
    I selected the network I was working on by hitting the blue arrow located on right side
    At the detail page of that network I scolled down to the bottom to find HTTP Proxy boxes
    I was on Off and changed it to Auto and it worked!
    I was soo jazzed!!
    Instructions said if it was already on AUTO, to change it to Manual and make your Port = 80 but I didn't have to do that!
    YIPPIE!!  I'm a new man!!
    Go to settings -----> WI-FI  -----> select the network you're using  ------> hit the blue arrow located on the right-side of the network name (ie: show details of that network), this takes you to another page.
    --------> at the bottom of the page you'll see "HTTP Proxy" boxes (located below the "renew lease" button) ---------------> change the proxy to AUTO.   Note: if you're already at AUTO, change it to "Manual" and make your Port = 80.

  • Safari can't connect to the web proxy server (HTTP)

    Hello,
    I have following problem. I need to connect to the internet using a proxy server. I went to System Preferences/Network/Wi-Fi/Advanced.../Proxies. Then, I selected Web Proxy (HTTP) and enetered server's IP address and port. It looks like I did everything correctly, but Safary can't open any page because "Safari can't connect to the web proxy server (HTTP)". Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    There are three possibilities:
    1. You entered the wrong address and port number for the proxy.
    2. You entered the wrong user name and password, if applicable.
    3. The proxy doesn't work or is incompatible.

    Best Fixes for ‘Cannot Connect to iTunes Store’ Errors
    by Patrick Jordan on August 30, 2012 in iPad Tips & Tricks
    I first posted about ‘Cannot connect to iTunes Store’ errors on the iPad back in May of this year. I was getting this error when trying to update or install new iPad apps.
    Since then the issue has continued to trouble many iPad and iDevice users – and thanks to our excellent readers and commenters we’ve learned a number of effective fixes for this problem.
    Here are the best ones I’ve seen – each of these has proven successful for many users:
    DNS Settings Change
    This fix has been recommended by Apple support and has proven successful for many commenters on my previous post. The way this works is to change DNS settings on your iPad or whichever iOS device is affected – by adding Google’s DNS server/s.  Here’s how to do this:
    – Go to the Settings app and tap on the Wi-Fi section in the left sidebar
    – Then look at the ‘Choose a Network’ section in the main right-hand side area of the page and look for the network name that has a check mark next to it and rendered in blue text – the WiFi network you are currently using
    – Tap on the blue arrow at the right-hand side of the listing for that network.
    – On the next screen you’ll see a section labeled ‘IP Address’ with three large buttons below it. Make sure the DHCP button is selected. Below that you’ll see fields for IP Address, Subnet Mask, and others. Tap on the DNS field (the fourth one down).
    – This will bring up the iPad’s on-screen keyboard and place the cursor at the end of the IP address for the DNS server currently being used by the iPad. Backspace until all the numbers for that address are gone. Then type this in:
    8.8.8.8
    Please note the periods after the first three 8s. You can also use 8.8.4.4 – both are valid addresses for Google’s DNS servers.
    Download an App Via the Purchased Tab in the App Store
    – Open the App Store app on your iPad or whichever iOS device is having this issue.
    – Tap on the Purchased button in the bottom navigation bar.
    – This will show you all the apps you’ve purchased on the iPad. Those that are already installed with a greyed out label. Others will display a small download icon, showing a cloud with a downward facing arrow in it.
    – Tap on one of the download icons and download a purchased app.
    For many users this has cleared some sort of App Store queue and allowed them to resume with normal updates. Some have had to repeat the download with a few apps in the Purchased section.
    Set the Date Forward and Revert Back
    – Open the Settings app and go to General > Date & Time
    – On the Date & Time screen, tap to turn off ‘Set Automatically’
    – Tap on ‘Set Date & Time’ and enter a date a couple of years or more in the future.
    – Go out of Settings and then straight back in and turn  ‘Set Automatically’ to restore the current date and time.
    (update me if work's)

  • I just recieved my Iphone yesterday, and today I was reading somthing off of Safari and recieved "error:there was a problem communicating with the secure web proxy server (HTTPS)" .Now I get this whenever I try opening any of my apps. Even my facebook app

    I have never done this before so I do not know if I am even doing this correctly. Anyways, I cleared my history and cookies! I even deleted many apps thinking it might of been from them. I have even turned my phone off for a good thirty minutes. THe last thing I did was set my network settings to default.
    I dont know what to do. Since I changed my network settings to default I turned my phone off again. I might just restore all setting to default and go from there..and if this doesnt work, I will just return the iphone for a different one I guess.

    Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro?  If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
    I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. • OSB call to remote Web Service via https proxy and https CONNECT problem

    Hi
    I have a service that calls a web service on another server as a web service. This call is via https and the certificate validation raises no errors.
    I now want this call to go via a squid httpd proxy on port 3128 on some machine. So I would like to use HTTP CONNECT (RFC 2817) proxying,. But when I set up this as a proxy, I am getting "Certificate chain" error messages. The certifcate chains is no different now from when I called without the http proxy, so what am I doing wrong? Does OSB support HTTP CONNECT?
    -Johan

    The exeption we are getting is BEA-380000
    General runtime error: [Security:090477]Certificate chain received from XXX - 123.123.123.123 --> test.salesforce.com was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure.
    This is of course not relevant if the callout were using CONNECT. In the CONNECT scenario, OSB would not care about XXX's certificate.

  • Web Proxy Server & Secure LDAP Problem

    Hi,
    I'm currently trying to interface a test system with SunONE Web Proxy 3.6 SP4 with a SunONE DIrectory Server 5.2 system. Using unencrypted LDAP, things worked fine.
    After creating a test certificate on the Directory Server, I reconfigured the Proxy to use SSL LDAP. Within the Administration Server of the proxy, communications with the SSL-enabled LDAP port looks fine and I am able to download the user/group lists from the directory server. Similarly, the ldapsearch tool works fine. However, the proxy instance itself does not even want to start, reporting the following problem(s):
    [30/Mar/2004:13:49:24] info: ldap_pool: ldapu_pool_init() : can't contact server <bovproxy.bov.com>
    [30/Mar/2004:13:49:24] security: ldap subsystem: ldap server(s) unreacheable. Acl evaluation may fail.
    [30/Mar/2004:13:49:24] info: LdapCheckUp set to 30 seconds
    A netstat whilst the proxy is starting reveals that the system does open ports with the LDAP server ok. I've tried various things without success. Any ideas/suggestions would be really welcome.
    Thanks,
    Herbert

  • App server HTTP install problem

    Trying to install the 9i app server on SuSE 7.1 gives a javacore dump almost immediately that ends with the heading "Object Monitor Status".
    Any ideas what is wrong?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Most likely there is a problem in your configuration, such that the admin service could not get started (didn't you originally get a 505 error?)  Check your logs: admin and Tomcat (usually catalina.log) for any errors and fix the problems indicated in the logs.

  • WAP4410n Http redirect problem

    I've set this up on my AP (latest firmware installed)
    However none of my (Windows xp/vista) will go to that page when they first attach to the Wireless network
    Windows Browser (IE7) settings are for auto-detect, and I can browse to other places so Iknow the basic connections are working.
    I can manually get to the URL so I know its not a permission issue
    Does anyone know how the cisco box knows if the client connection is considered an 'initial' connection'?

  • How to know internally redirect in Proxy Server

    Hello,
    I notice that our developed NSAP codes, at very first time, Sun Java System proxy Server internally redirect in Proxy Server.
    If anyone knows how we can get the behavior difference between internal redirect and normal procedure to see the pblock structure.
    Best Regards;
    MMd1

    Here is the program.
    My NSAPI program generate POST message in the below, but Web Proxy Server generate the appended URL in the below;
    http: //tnakamura-t42.xxx.com:85/NSAPI_dev/http%3A//tnakamura-t42.xxx.com%3A86/test4/test1.html
    The last GET in the message of the below should be;
    http%3A//tnakamura-t42.xxx.com%3A86/test4/test1.html
    The Web Proxy Server internally redirect the below.
    I am not sure why Web Proxy Server modify the URL between (POST -> GET message)

  • Safari 5.0.1 can't connect to proxy server (when 5.0 could)

    Hi,
    I use a MacBook Pro at home and at work. At work I have to access the internet via an http proxy server.
    After updating Safari to 5.0.1 I now get a "Safari can’t open the page “http://www.openstreetmap.org/” because Safari can’t connect to the web proxy server (HTTP)." and then goes on to tell me how to access my proxy settings in System Preferences. Safari works fine at home, accessing the internet via ADSL.
    Camino works fine, OSX Software Update works fine. I have the same problem with extensions enabled/disabled. I do have the WebSnapper plugin working but this was not a problem with 5.0. I have tried resetting Safari but to no avail.
    Any ideas
    Thanks
    Iain

    HI Ian,
    Please click My Settings on the right side of this page and tell us which Mac OS X you are running. Thanks!
    I do have the WebSnapper plugin working but this was not a problem with 5.0
    Turn off Extensions, try Safari using that proxy server. That extension may have been compatible with the previous version of Safari, but not the latest update.

  • Sync Java Proxy Server response in XML

    Hi !
    We've this scenario: File1 <-> XI <-> Java Proxy <-> File2
    Using a BPM, we made a Async/Sync workflow. It works ok. It uses a SYNC Java Proxy Server.
    The problem is that inside the java proxy, we query an http source that returns already XML formated data. We need this data to be mapped from the java proxy response message type to the File2 message type.
    We know that we can parse the XML data inside the java proxy and fill the response message type structures (creating items, and array items for nested records), or directly   code the mapping here.
    But, is there any alternative to pass the received XML from the HTTP directly to XI, and map that XML structure with the File2 message type using graphical mapping ? instead of programming the xml parsing and creating the response structure?
    If we create a message type for the response of the java proxy, as 1 field that contains the whole XML code, then we would not map it....Is there any way to complete or to add  something to the received XML code, to convert it to the XI message format..so XI could interpret it as a true XI message and map it transparently via graphical mapping?
    Thanks,
    Matias

    Hi Akshay !
    That's exactly what I don't know how to do it.
    Inside the java proxy function I have a string variable, let's call it xmlResponse, that contains:
    <customer>
    <name>Matias</name>
    <country>China</country>
    </customer>
    I also have a message type created in XI (let's call it MT_Response), that has the same fields as the above message structure. And my java proxy function is declared something like this:
    public MT_Response.Type myFunction(MT_Request.Type myRequest) {
    String xmlResponse="";
    // http connection code goes here..
    xmlResponse = httpConnection.getResponse();
    return ??????? what ????
    I don't want to parse the xmlResponse variable in order to fill the MT_Response structure. I need a more direct way, because the content of xmlResponse is already XML !
    Thanks.

  • Calling WS from WebLogic server 8.1 that is behind a Proxy server

    Hi,
    I have a web application deployed on WebLogic server 8.1 sp1. And my server is
    behind a http proxy server. Now one of the components in the application makes
    a web service call to a service located external to the system, and it always
    throws "java.net.UnknownHostException". I have set the Java system properties
    http.proxyHost = my proxy server, http.proxySet = true and http.proxyPort = 80
    and it still does not help.
    If I try to evaluate the web service component as a stand alone client using WebLogic's
    webserviceclient.jar, everything works fine. I can't figure what I have to do
    to get this component working from within the WebLogic server. Can anybody provide
    me with inputs, comments or suggestions.
    Naveen.

    Found solution. Followed Part 2 of the solution as explained in http://support.bea.com/application?namespace=askbea&origin=ask_bea_answer.jsp&event=link.view_answer_page_solution&answerpage=solution&page=wlw/S-19283.htm
    What surprises me is that this solution to a common problem is hidden and hard
    to find. If I am correct, no part of WLS 8.1 documentation suggests this. Rather
    the doc says, set the system properties for the standard JDK 1.4 network properties
    and it should work fine. If it is actually supposed to work like this, is it a
    bug then?
