Proxy server preventing download of trials?

The company I work for has a proxy server in place and this is preventing us downloading the Creative Cloud Trial.  Adobe's answer is for us to go off network or disable our proxy server!  Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so what is the solution?  Many thanks Julia Dowding

Julia which operating system are you using?  Where are you inputting the proxy server information within your operating system?

  • How do I specify a particular Proxy Server, port, user-ID and password for file downloads

We are attempting to deploy Creative Cloud trial applications to a couple of users for testing purposes.
This is a corporate environment where we need to specify a particular proxy server by IP address, and port with a User-ID and password for identification in order to download files.
The Creative Cloud app appears to be ignoring the proxy settings in the browsers installed on the machine used to attempt a download. The Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition wants you to already have the files available.  All technical support had is a white list, no help on how to specify a particular proxy server.  Do we have to obtain media from Adobe, or is there a way to download these?
    Thanks

  • A new version of Firefox, which downloaded automatically, says Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that's refusing connections, even though I had access before the download.

I was using Firefox earlier in the day with no problem. About half an hour ago I tried to get on the Internet using Firefox (as always). When I did, I was greeted with a little dialog box showing that something was downloading. That's happened before.
This time, though, I was greeted by an error page that said Firefox was configured to use a proxy server that's refusing connections.
I'm not on a network. I have a desktop computer that connedts to a wireless modem that I share only with my wife. I didn't change my settings on either. Neither did my wife.
My "Connection Settings" box still says "use system proxy settings." There are no entries in the manual settings boxes.
I want to emphasize that I changed *nothing.*
I need to know, please, how I can set my computer to get back onto the Internet or, failing that, how I can go back to the previous version of Firefox.
    Thank you very much.

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"

  • Adobe Reader 9.0 has delay when downloading PDF file through proxy server

There is an issue with the Adobe Reader (and Acrobat) 9.0 PDF Link Helper ActiveX control for Internet Explorer (6 or 7) on Windows computers with respect to proxy servers. Due to this issue, there is a 2 minute delay for any Internet Explorer web browser on the Deere network before any PDF file will open from the Internet within the IE web browser if In-Place activation (Display PDF in Browser) is enabled in Adobe Reader 9. This problem does not affect Adobe Reader 8.
What we are seeing is that when someone on the Deere network clicks on a links to a PDF file in the Internet, the PDF file downloads immediately. But then, after the PDF file is downloaded, the Adobe Reader 9 PDF Link Helper ActiveX control tries to talk directly to the Internet web site. The Adobe Reader 9 PDF Link Helper ActiveX control does not know how to negotiate our proxy server. So after a minute or two, the Adobe Reader 9 PDF Link Helper ActiveX control times out (gives up) and allows the IE browser to display the downloaded PDF file in the IE browser.
We work around this issue by disabling In Place Activation for PDF files in IE (uncheck Display PDF in Browser). But we would like a fix for the PDF Link Helper ActiveX control.
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\Originals]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Originals]
    "bBrowserIntegration"=dword:00000000
Here's what our proxy people see when they do a trace of a PDF file download through their proxy server with IE 7 and Adobe Reader 9 with Display PDF in Browser checked.
The browser tells the proxy to download the pdf, it does and sends it to the browser. Before the browser opens it something in Acrobat ( or I.E. ? ) tries to make a connection back to the content server that hosted the pdf. Unfortunately this agent does not ask the proxy to make the request for it, but rather asks local DNS to resolve the Internet server name. This request dies because our internal private network does not know anything about the Internet. Only the DNS used by the proxy can resolve Interent names. After two unsuccessful DNS queries into the private network, the agent tries to resolve the same Internet name with NBNS ( netbios name service) queries again into the private network, with the same results. These requests persists for more than two minutes ( over 200 unresolved queries ). Then for whatever reason the agent gives up and the already downloaded pdf file loads into the browser.

    Hi,
I have the same problem with some specific PDF files. For more than 90% it hangs when opening the file, but sometimes it works (with the same file).
The workflows where it sometimes worked:
    a) Loading the PDF, the reader is started the first time and displays license dialog.
    b) The reader was already runing and file is loaded with Drag&Drop or File/Open in the Reader
But most times it does not load.
I could not find out which file is missing or trying to be opened. So I tried with the CP949.TXT.
I found no CP949.TXT in Reader 8 installation, so I took it from the link, pasted into notepad and stored in the respective directory
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Resource\TypeSupport\Unicode\Mappings\win\
Now it seems to work fine, opening PDFs with double click from exporer.
But why did Adobe Reader 8 not have the TypeSupport directory at all?
Even when having found a fix (hack?), I think I did not understand the cause of this problem.

  • Since upgrading to ios7, apps just say waiting and then get the app cannot be downloaded at this time message. We run a proxy server, devices running ios6 have no problems. Anyone know what the problem is? I think apple just needs to fix its new OS.

I work at a school running 10 iPads. We connect to the internet through a proxy server. Prior to iOS7 we had no issues, the devices still on iOS6 work perfectly.
All devices which have been upgraded to iOS7 cannot download apps. I can find the apps in the store, choose to download them, but the icon hangs for a while before returning the "app cannot be downloaded at this time message". Help.

I have this same exact issue. We have even put all apple servers as not even being filtered by proxy and it still wont download anything. Nor will it let us even log in or create a new acct in the app store. It seems its also not just app store related....as it won't even let you check for IOS updates when a proxy is entered.
If anyone has any ideas let us know!

  • Server 3 downloaded but does not install. HTTPS proxy error

    Hi all,
Thanks for looking into my problem.
I had a running OSX Mountain Lion with working OSX server 2.2.
I upgraded to Mavericks (works fine) and server app 2.2 showed does not work. That is normal.
I purchased the new server 3 app (i.e. OSX server for Mavericks) and it downloaded fine.
But when I click the server app icon and the dialogue for installation starts it does not continue to install.
The first question in continue, the server app then shows the license, after acceptance it starts a dialogue
"To configure OSX server on this Mac an administrator account is required. Please enter your password"
Upon entering the correct username and password a cryptic message appears:
"An error occurred while communicating with the secure Web-Proxy-Server. (HTTPS)"
(Or something like that: this was translated from German dialogues)
I cannot find any feedback what this is about. The server 3 app ends then and the server software does not install or configure the OSX server to get it operational again.
    My Question:
What is wrong or am I doing wrong?
    How can I fix this?
    Some more data:
The original OSX server installation was an open domain server.
Upon checking the DNS name as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5300, the scutil --get HostName resolves the correct machine name (FQDN) but the host command does not resolve the correct DNS entry.
I am really stuck on this.
    Can anybody please help?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks already

    Hi all,
I read that one should disable the SSL on a OSX server with Open Domain, prior to installing server 3. To double check: where is that configuration option hidden? How can I do this after upgrading the OSX client to Mavericks?
Seems I have not done that prior to upgrading OSX from mountain lion to mavericks. Now server 2.2 is disabled and I cannot access the server and installing server 3 app does not work.
    Some details:
    As described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5300

OS X Server: Steps to take before upgrading or migrating the Open Directory database
    Disable SSL
If you have SSL enabled, disable it before upgrading.

  • Trying to download files from an URL in a proxy server environment

    Hi,
I am trying to download a file using LabVIEW with a simple DataSocket Read function but I am getting this error message: "LabVIEW:  Path not found, FTP login incorrect, or no FTP write permission." I am trying to do this at work and I know we have a proxy server. Even If I use this simple code, it does not work:
How can I tell LabVIEW to use the proxy server?
    Thanks,
    José Rodrigo TÁGER

    Hi LuiE_C
Thanks for your reply. About that, I thought there was no need to initialize a session. For example, checking at the paper you are pointing below, we have this:
This is what I actually try to use and it is not working. I am 100% sure it must be because of the proxy settings. That is the reason why I am asking how to tell LabVIEW the proxy settings.
    Thanks,
    JR TÁGER

  • Why won't my proxy server download Firefox 4?

My P C operates on Windows XP. When attempting to download Firefox 4, a message appears stating that my proxy server will not download

I have a similar problem. After installed FF 4 it would not talk to the internet because 'my proxy server refused'. I can fix this by going to options/advanced/setting ... but the fix only lasts for the current session of FF. If exit and restart FF, I get the proxy problem again ... the fix has to be repeated.
Similarly, the install reset my home page. I can easily fix this, but exiting and restarting FF resets the homepage again.
How do I make these fixes 'sticky'?

  • I am getting "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error 0x80092013. I have just downloaded and installed current version of iTunes, and have the 2013 Norton IS. My proxy server is letting me got to iTunes, but cannot login.

I have a proxy server and the server is allowing me to go to iTunes. But I get a message "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error code ox80092013. I cannot find that code in the troubleshooting section. I have just installed a new PC HP5750, with Norton IS 2013. I installed the current version of iTunes directly from the iTunes site. My proxy server is American Family Online web browsing filter. I contacted them and they said there should not be a problem with their server. I have had an account previously, but has been inactive for several months. I even tried to create a new account, but still got the same error code.
Someone please help with this. I have accompaniment tracks on iTunes that I need for music ministry.

  • Problem in installing Directory Proxy server

Hi all! Recently downloaded the trial version of sun one directory proxy server. After installing the sun one DS 5.2 . I tried to install sun one proxy server..when it asks for configuration server information i have given the admin id and password ....
but it gave me following error message
"The given Administrator Id/password combination was not accepted by the
    Configuration Directory Server.
The Sun ONE configuration directory administrator is the ID typically used to
    log in to the console."
I did used the same id and password to login to console & i am able to log in.
    Please advice.

    Two quick hints.
First off, instead of hitting <Enter> to accept the default for the username [admin], type "admin" (without the quotes) as if you were giving different credentials. There's a known issue during the installation where the default text doesn't work.
Additionally, I had to change my admin password in the configuration directory to cleartext in order to get it to work. For some reason the password encryption during the bind was never successful. To do that:
    dn: uid=admin,ou=Administrators,ou=TopologyManagement,o=NetscapeRoot
    changetype: modify
    replace: userPassword
    userPassword: {CLEAR}password
I have no idea if this addresses the problem itself or just a symptom, but it did allow me to install DPS. You might want to give it a shot.
