Proxy setting when patching to 10.2.0.2 on Linux x86

Hi
Seems Grid Control patching is more troublesome than database patching. When OUI launched, it asked for the information of Proxy server. I used that at home for learning purpose. I cannot bypass that page. How can I know this information?
BTW, is it a particular I shall patch, say, agent first, oms second, etc.?
Thanks,
Kevin

At what screen you got this error, can you also provide the steps that you followed? idealy if you uncheck the enable proxy option this error shouldn't appear
and also you can avoid this error by decline the ccr license agreement and once agent config done configure ccr by command line by setupCCR command from AOH\ccr\bin

  • AppV5.0 sequencing a web app but App not applying IE proxy setting when published.

     Hello all,
I am using AppV5.0 SP1 sequencer to capture a customized IE/Java 6.32 app. The capture of the Java install is great and works perfectly as well as the IE shortcut, my problem starts with the
IE proxy, I would like to get a dummy nonexistent proxy to prevent outside internet access (Outside access is locked down through the proxy). Every time I sequence the app I have the registry settings necessary to set a proxy setting under the AppV current
user registry settings, but when the app is published it's almost as if the system local or GPO applied settings overwrite the AppV sequenced settings.
What am I missing in these steps to have my sequenced proxy settings stay and not get overwritten by the system applied GPO?
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Hello,

  • Disable proxy settings when my applet runs..

    Hi All,
IS there any way i can disable proxy setting when my applet is run on remote network machine.
If so, how? Is there any examples i can look at.
    Thanks in advance.

Well here's the problem: if it's a typical proxy setup, the user shouldn't be able to bypass the proxy, because if they did, they'd hit the firewall. And then they'd get a different error.
If it works anyway, then possibly there's a hole in your firewall. Maybe your network guys will fix it soon, and your code will break. Or, maybe the hole is supposed to be there, but the network guys don't want a lot of data going throught it -- that's what the proxy is for. So you'll get them mad.
Or not. I'm just thinking of possible scenarios. But generally if there's a proxy, it's there for a reason.
So I can't help wondering if the real solution is to get the user to fix their proxy setting so they don't hit the proxy in your case, or something.

  • Does Resetting Internet Explorer Maintenance settings from GPO will also remove the proxy set in IE by a third party tool when the GPO refreshes for the first time

    Hi,
We have two GPO's with IE maintenance (Preference Mode Configured)
    The settings it has are
    1. Automatically detect configuration settings - Set to Enabled.
    2. Automatic Browser configuration - Not configured.
We do not have proxy value set in IE through this GPO.
We have proxy set in IE through a third party tool (TPT) which updates the proxy at logon event 5 and 10.
Does Resetting Internet Explorer Maintenance settings from these GPO's also clear proxy set in IE by third party tool after the first GPO refresh.
I am sure the second time when the GP refreshes, the client won't find any IEM settings and hence there is no question of the proxy set in IE by TPT to erase. It is only the first time of the GPO refresh that I am concerned about.
Can someone please guide as I am planning to do the same in our production and concerned about the downtime caused due to the proxy being removed if at all for the first time.

It will disable the proxy server option in Internet Options (untick the box), but will still store your proxy details.
    Thanks
    Ryan

  • ITunes not using the defined proxy setting

iTunes 10.0.1 on MacOS X 10.6.4 isn't correctly using the system
    proxy setting defined through:<pre>System Preferences…

    Advanced…
    Proxies
    Web proxy (HTTP)
    Web Proxy Server
    myproxy.my_company.mycountry : 3128</pre>
    For example, when selecting:<pre>Advanced

a network analysis shows that the machine is trying to
    connect directly to:<pre> service.gracenote.com</pre>
    with plain: http
where it should use port 3128 as defined.
This misbehaviour is causing an infinite loop, a "death" loop.
This death loop may sometimes end in a newly inserted CD not being
recognised by iTunes and the Finder.
Before submitting this as a bug to Apple, I wanted to check if I'm
    not the bug.
Did I miss something really easy in the iTunes
setting to avoid this misbehaviour leading to death loops?

No need to fill a bug report .
It was magically repared with the 10.1 upgrade.
    Question answered through action. Great.

  • RAC Linux DB Servers Shutdown When Patching from 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.0.7

    Hello.
We have been successfully running a RAC 11.1.0.6.0 64-bit DB on Linux Redhat DB servers. We have had this DB running RHEL version 4 at kernel version 2.6.9-78.0.1.ELsmp. We also had successfully installed the January 2009 family CPU patch. A few months ago we began building a new 64-bit 11.1.0.6.0 RAC cluster set. This new cluster was on a different OS (a patch level up - kernel version is 2.6.9.78.ELsmp (Update 7). To our knowledge, no other OS/HW differences existed between the older, first RAC cluster and the new (2nd) one.
After the SAs handed over the new RAC DB servers to us, we installed the 11.1.0.6.0 clusterware without problem. We then began to install the clusterware 11.1.0.7.0 patch. Here is the problem. When we patch the clusterware up to 11.1.0.7.0, the last thing we are supposed to do is run the root shell script. When we run this script, it starts and never retunrs. In fact, by initiating this script, the node on which it is running actually crashes/shuts down. It does not reboot. It shuts down and we actually have to literlaly go to that server and push the on-off button. We can repeat this on any of the nodes and all of the machines respond the same. We have repeated this cluster build three different times. The first time, the root script finished, but each of the nodes later began shutting down selectively afterwards and we'd have to restart them. On the 2nd and 3rd attempts, the root script would not finish and the node would crash.
Oracle support hinted that we needed to go to the install glibc-2.3.4-2.40 (or above) or upgrade to EL4u7. Well, we are at EL4u7 now and the version of glibc is glibc-2.3.4-2.41. We look fine on that front. They also indicated that we need to install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of glibc. When we run "rpm -qa | grep -i glibc", we see:
    glibc-2.3.4-2.41:
    glibc-devel-2.3.4-2.41
    glibc-devel-2.3.4-2.41
    glibc-2.3.4-2.41:
We wonder as to why we see TWO (2) entries repeated. Does anyone know why? Also, how can one tell if both the 32 and 64-bit versions of glibc exist on our 64-bit machines? Does the fact that the above duplicate entries imply this?
MOE IMPORTANTLY, has anyone experienced this node/DB server crash when patching up from 11.1.0.6.0 to 11.1.0.7.0? We are out of answers on or end. We cannot even look at the system logs or the ocssd logs because the servers crash immediately upon restarting them.
    Thank you.
    Matt
    Matt

    Matt,
When I had this issue and the first node was going in to reboot loop, I remember I saw a message related to 'tick' of some kind. Based on that I thought the cluster is rebooting because of quorum issue with vote disk. So I thought if clusterware don't find vote disk then it will not start and no possibility of quorum issue that was leading to reboot. So I renamed the vote disk and OCR (which was not necessary though) and uninstalled and installed clusterware again.
In /etc/inittab OCCSD daemon is started at run level 3,5 with fatal option. That means if Cluster Synchronization Service (OCSSD daemon) gets terminated it reboot the server. If I had option of starting server to init 1 level, I would open /etc/inittab and comment out following lines and then start server in init 3 level and uninstall clusterware and install again.
    h1:35:respawn:/etc/init.d/init.evmd run >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null
    h2:35:respawn:/etc/init.d/init.cssd fatal >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null
    h3:35:respawn:/etc/init.d/init.crsd run >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null

  • Proxy setting changes automatically

I have multiple wifi connection and some have proxy, some don't have.
I am using Lenovo access connection software for switching between these proxies and in firefox proxy set as use system proxy settings. still some times it automatically switches to manual proxy settings and takes value of one of the proxy settings.
pl suggest me a way to avoid such automatically change of proxy settings in firefox.

If you change the Network settings to Auto-detect proxy, does the manual proxy still get used when it is not supposed to?

  • How to set proxy setting in all application

i am using college wifi system, it used by proxy setting and username and password for that,
in the time of microsft updation I cant access internet, how to setup proxy for that??????

    Hi,
    Was your issue resolved?
If no, please provide the detailed information of your issue for analysis.
If the problem happened after Windows Update, let us know which update.
You could set the proxy as below:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click the Tools button, and then click
    Internet Options.
    3. Click the Connections tab, and then click
    LAN settings.
    4. Select the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.
    5. In the Address box, type the address of the proxy server.
    6. In the Port box, type the port number.
    7. If your network requires separate proxy addresses for different services, such as HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP, click the
Advanced button, and then type the individual proxy server addresses to use.
    8. When you are finished making changes, click OK until you return to Internet Explorer.

  • PROXY SETTING ERROR - LOADING JAVA APPLET FAILED

I have the most current version of Java (confirmed) installed l.5.0. When I do the Java Virtual Test, I fail at the proxy setting with the red X. I have tried everything recommended at "Configuration Check List" and I have also chatted with microsoft techs who recommended that I register certain .dll's among other things. Nothing has worked. Is the Java Control Panel the same thing as the Java Plug-in Control Panel? I only have the JCP. Could that be the problem? I also get a message in other areas that scripting is not enabled. Is this all related?

Thought I should add this to further explain what is happening ... Hope you can help!

  • About the system wide wifi proxy setting

I'm currently using BlackBerry Q10, and I love it, just for you know, I turn from iPhone5 to it.
As I'm using it mostly inside China, the network connecttion is so bad, I need use proxy for accessing Google or Twitter service, so the wifi's proxy is very important to me.
But I found inside my Q10 system, the wifi proxy setting in fact is not globally effect, it works when open browser, but when I try to add my Gmail account or twitter account, it can't go with my proxy setting. That too bad.
is there any special setting to make it works, this is really importent to me
    Thanks!
    -Ryan

  • HTML proxy setting?

The university I'm in allows us to access restricted
resources (e.g. journal articles) when off-campus if I setup my
browser's proxy setting. (e.g., in firefox, we set Automatic proxy
    configuration URL.

    I wrote a browser-like AIR application using mx:HTML. Is
there anyway I can change proxy for this application? From previous
postings it seems AIR picks up OS proxy settings. Is there anyway I
can override the proxy settings within AIR (maybe by changing some
    variable values)?

Were you able to find an solution for this?  Am also looking to do so.

  • Proxy Setting Clarification

    Hello there,
I have a small question regarding the available proxy settings in iOS.
Under the Wi-Fi configuration, you have the HTTP Proxy setting and you also have proxy settings found within the VPN configuration. I understand that the proxy under Wi-Fi is used when connected to the Wi-Fi network. For example, if I'm connected to Wi-Fi and a Wi-Fi proxy is configured, a request to Google in Safari will pass through the proxy.
I'm not sure what role the VPN proxy setting plays. If for example I'm connected to Wi-Fi and I have a Wi-Fi proxy configured, is the Wi-Fi proxy used if I connect to a remote network using a VPN or do I need to configure the VPN proxy setting? In other words, how do both proxy settings work together if they do at all? Is it as simple as the Wi-Fi proxy being used when connected to the local Wi-Fi and the VPN proxy being used only used when connected to the VPN due to me being 'no longer connected' to the local Wi-Fi network?
Official documentation from Apple doesn't seem to document the difference or purpose.
    Any input is appreciated.
    David

You got it right with the latter possibility. VPN proxy is used for web requests which pass through the VPN. VPN becomes the default gateway when connect so all traffic will go across it. So the WiFi proxy won't be used while VPN is up.
