PRS-600 Continual Page Advancing

A little while ago my PRS-600 started continually changing pages when the 'next page' button is pressed. Doesn't happen all the time, seems to be random. The only way to stop it is to push the 'back page' button.
Swiping the screen still works no problem, and has become my default.
Anyone else having this problem? any fixes?

Hello and welcome to the forums,
The PRS-600 has more than one way to turn the page, you can also turn the page using the touch screen.
If the issue remains regardless of how the page is turned, reset your Sony Reader by following the instructions here:
http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/docu ... d=C1006375
If its a physical issue with turning the page forward but not back, as if a button is sticking, contact support for service options.

  • Prs 600 blank pages

Our PRS 600 Sony Reader seems to have a problem reading pdf files from the memory card. We have tried 2 different cards with same result. Examples: read 10 pages then blank 10 pages over & over.... read 6 - 15 pages & rest of book is blank...... or one the print was extremely small & couldn't be enlarged. What is the problem?
Wanted to add that these files read fine on the computer....and further testing shows it doesn't matter if the file is on the card or on the internal memory..... really puzzling.

    Thank you for your post.
I would recommend that you first try a soft reset to see if that resolves the issue and a hard reset if it still persists:
    https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31627
Is the issue occurring with all PDF files? Due to the way that some PDF files are formatted you may encounter rendering or speed issues with individual files. If the PDF file isn't locked and you have Adobe Acrobat on your computer you may find that using the PDF Optimizer may help make the file a little more leaner to load quicker on the Reader and also sometimes you can improve the layout of a PDF simply by using the "Save As" command.

  • Page advancing problem in dotmatrix printing

    Hi Experts,
We are trying to print 6 X 2 Inch sticker using dotmatrix printer in smartforms,
For this I have defined a page formate assigned it to Device type and under the initialization written the following code
    reset
    \e\0x40
    set line spacing 6 LPI
    \e\0x32
set page length to 2 inch (=12 lines at 6 LPI)
    \e\0x43\0x0C
print is coming properly in one sticker ie, 6 X 2.
but after printing it is advanding 4.5 sticker, How can I stop this page advancing ?
Note : sticker is in continuous roll.
    Regards
    Bikas

    Hi Bikas,
We are facing similar issue with a custom page format created in SAP (9.5" x 7").
Issue Details – While printing the Smartform output on Line matrix printer, the printer ignores the page format assigned in the device and takes more page break than expected. Looks like it considers Letter/DINA4 page format instead of the custom format designed.
We are using SAPWIN device type and assigned the custom page format to the device type. We are not seeing any difference even after implementing the similar code mentioned above in your thread in "Print Initialization" action.
Please provide your inputs in this regard.
    Thanks,
    Surya

  • Printing Continuous Pages

    Hellow
I'm trying to Print continuous pages report, of a Purchase Order (PO). An PO can contain more than one item, say 25 items, in which it will go to second and maybe third page.
At the Time of printing and when it comes to the next Page: The printing dose not start from where it should do, rather it starts from the middle of the page.
What Should be set & dose to resolve such a prob??
    Note:
PO header Repeating frame is set to Fixed (Vertical Elasticity)
PO Detil Repeating frame is set to Expand (Vertical Elasticity) with max. no of records displayed to 10
    System config is:
    Oracle developer 6i Rel. 2
    Windows 9x SE (Arabic Enabled).
    Oracle 8i (V. 8.1.5)
    Please Do Help.
    Thanx,
    Tariq

Try placing a variable sized frame (M_1) around:
PO header Repeating frame is set to Fixed (Vertical Elasticity) This will cause your second frame:
PO Detil Repeating frame is set to Expand (Vertical Elasticity) with max. no of records displayed to 10 to move up the page when it moves onto the second page since it moves to take up the space free'd by M_1.

  • Print continuous pages in sap script

    Hi all,
I am taking the start from and end form twice. The first page has next page and the page numbers are fine, as i am going with the new page I created the page numbers are restarted.
I've tried the option (jobpages and formpages which are giving the spool pages and current pages of the pages I created). I need to find the difference between the pages discussed above or need to use &SAPSCRIPT-COUNTER_x(+)& (need syntax of the same if it works).
can any one Please suggest the solution to get continuous pages even though new start form is called up.
    Thanks and Regards
    san

    Hi,
When you use Scripts or Smartforms the page counter will be defined by the system with a new page.
we cannot manipulate the pagenumbers it is purely system dependant by which you start a page
If you want to get the page number as needed then :
    Write your own logic
    1. create a counter and get the count of teh pages irrespective of new or start page
    2. declare the value in the form
    Hope this helps.

  • Sony e reader prs 600 not showing in bookmark pane on my new Mac with Snow Leopard

I have a brand new sony e reader prs 600 it is supported but I am unable to see it on the bookmark pane in my new Mac with Snow Leopard is it something to do with Snow leopard?  Or why can I not see my sony e reader?  thank you

According to the Adobe website ADE 1.7.1 is compatible with Mac if you
look at system requirements and with the Sony reader if you look at
supported devices.  Though it doesn't mention Macs latest O/S.
and if I download an Adobe digital editions book, can I then move it
to Sony's ebook software, or is the format unsupported on the Sony
    Ereader?

  • Create continuous page PDF from webpage.

Hello, I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and MS Internet Explorer (FireFox is available), and I would like to create continuous page PDF files from webpages. I am taking webpage data, and making it accessible on an intranet for viewing by our technicians, and creating the PDF with standard pages is making a mess of the data. I have resorted to creating a custom sized page (ie: 8.5" x 153") for each webpage to get everything on one continuous flow. I am hoping someone can tell me a more streamlined method to do this as my current method is very time consuming.

There are plugins available for many browsers that can produce a single
image from an entire web page. You can then easily convert that image into
    a single-page PDF file.

After clicking Safari prompt box to "Download Flash..." , I'm linked to the Adobe Flash Player Download page. I click the "Download Now". The page advance to next page in the download process but then immediately goes black and nothing happens. System preferences firewall is off and apps are allowed from anywhere and in Safari other plug ins are allowed and cookies are not blocked and pop up windows are not blocked. Why won't Flash Player download?

Don't DL Flash from web sites. If you have Adobe Flash installed it should be in System Preferences and you can find the latest version and download from there.
If you are installing for the first time, this is where to DL it.

  • Repeating group won't consume all space on continuation pages

I am using Oracle Reports 6i. I have a report that I want everything to print on the first page. Then I want the repeating group in the middle of the first page (~5 lines) to finish printing on all subsequent pages. Right now the repeating group finishes printing on continuation pages, but it won't use the top half of the page (above where the repeating group header appears on the first page). It will use the bottom half of the page. Any ideas on how to make it use the entire page on the continuation pages?

I added a frame around the fields that were causing the extra white space and set vertical elasticity to variable.
that took care of the extra white space on the subsequent pages but the fields in the frame now overlap with the fields below it.

  • Scrolling more lines when print out is taken in continuous page

    Hi
I have created new page format and added it to format and then to device by using spad.
This new page size is 8 X 6 Portrait
the problem is that when print out is taken by using script the first page of the first document is correctly printed , But from second document onward the printer scrolls more than required, the print out is taken in continues page.
Where to set the scrolling space and all
    Hoping help

I have already tried all these solutions but NONE of them work.
I recently (last week) bought a new printer & had a reformat. The problem didn't exist before then

  • Snow Leopard and Sony eReader PRS 600

Is anyone else having a problem with this? I can get my computer authorised but not my eReader. Adobe Digital Editions and Sony are not responding to my queries about this. I need an Apple expert to tell me what to do!!!

I have a PRS 505 eReader that works fine with the Sony Reader Library s/w on Snow Leopard but is not recognized by Adobe Digital Editions...no problem I can download what I need with Reader Library. Recently bought a PRS 600 eReader for my wife and it does not work with on Snow Leopard. Same story on my wife's iMac running Snow Leopard.
When I boot to Windows XP on my MacBook Pro both the PRS 600 and the PRS 505 work fine with both Reader Library and Adobe Digital Editions (have read that Adobe Digital Editions do not recognize Sony ereaders under Mac OSX)
Conclusion: Just have to wait for Sony to get their act together and update the software/firmware to work properly under Mac OSX Snow Leopard (do not know how the PRS 600 works with earlier Mac OSX versions). Their latest firmware download for the PRS 600 on their support website is at an earlier version than what came with the ereader! Also when running Snow Leopard under 32 bit kernel the Ereader errors are even worse (hold down the 3 & 2 keys while booting up).
Suggestions from their help desk made things worse.....had to spend some time recovering from their ill-informed suggestions.
Pity about their software support. Once you have the books downloaded the Sony is a great machine to use.
I suppose patience is the key word here.

  • Set Page Advance Time to Length of MP3

    Hi
I have a document (2500+) that have some pages with 1 mp3 file attached to the page.
I would like to set the page advance default to .5 second but for the pages that contain a single mp3 file I would like to set the page advance time to the length of the mp3 file (which I would need to script to calculate).
I am not looking for a complete script just some basic guidelines of the relevant properties and methods I would use.
Also I would like to know if this could be done or integrated with the actions wizard.
    Thanks
    Trevor

Check out the following links. Let us know if helpful.
    BOL 2008:
    Page Breaks
In some reports, you may want to place a page break at the end of a specified number of rows instead of, or in addition to, on groups or report items. To do this, create a group in a data region (typically a group immediately outside the detail), add a page break to the group, and then add a group expression to group by a specified number of rows.
The following expression, when placed in the group expression, assigns a number to each set of 25 rows. When a page break is defined for the group, this expression results in a page break every 25 rows.
    =Int((RowNumber(Nothing)-1)/25)

  • Report with continuation pages that have a different layout?

Is there a good way to build a master-detail report where the detail records continue on pages with different layout after the first page?
Take e.g. the invoice report example in Oracle Reports Building Reports, part V, chapter 33 and modify it so that only the first page shows the invoice header information and has the full invoice form as a background image; the subsequent pages have a different background image and show only continuing line items that may have even slightly different horizontal field locations. How would you make the line items "flow" to the continuation page(s)?
I tried building a report with the first page as the header section and the continuation pages as the main section, both with a repeating frame sourced from the same details group but can't figure out how to make the details actually continue on the continuation page and not just start from the beginning...

    Hi,
You both need to using AIM valid name or both using Jabber based IDs like FaceBook or GoogleTalk  (oor Yahoo if you must)
Apple's @mac.com and @me.com are Valid AIM names as well as regular AIM names.
Jabber IDs are gained from non centralised servers and there are thousands of Public and private servers issuing IDs
Google Mail with "Talk" enabled on your Accounts settings or a FaceBook account with "Chat" enabled are valid Jabber IDs
Jabber IDs are rarely emails (Google is an exception).
However they follow the email format which means the AIM Buddy list will "accept" them format wise
(the same is true to some extent the other way round)

    Hi
Thank you so much to Reg for his answer to the above subject. I have been reading
/ searching / reading at both Adobe sites, Sony sites, library sites etc. for almos
t one month to find a solution to this problem.
I couldn't imagine that we had bought a device (Sony 650 Touch) that did not hold the correct software nor the correct manual. Unbelievable.
To those who come after me... go to THIS SITE http://ebookstore.sony.com/download/
and download the application for PC (top left) orMAC (top right). It takes time, but it works !
I'm just so happy now !!
