PRT Planning (PP)

Hello,
I am NOT sure whether this is right forum to give this problem. I have tried in SAP-PP and failed to get any replies. So, I am trying over here...
Scenario: I am designing a Solution for Bottle Manufacturing company as PP Consultant. Bottle manufacturing requires MOLDS (Production Resource Tools) almost equivalent to the number of Bottles produced. Lead time to produce/procure MOLDS is around 45 days. This makes it critical to plan for procurement (internal/external). Number of SKUs (Bottles) in the system are around 1500. Number of Molds would equal that as stocks in the system.
Problem Description (example):
A Mold can create 500000 impressions. Once PRT is issued to the shop floor and Impression made are calculated equivalent to number of bottles produced. For a production order, the bottles can be viz 10000 or 50000 per run.
Once reaching a stage of Mold impressions made 450000, I want MRP to plan for procurement of this Mold (Internal/External) as Planned Order.
I see that SAP is not supporting this kind of planning according to number of impression made for PRT.
Any solutions / suggestions who have come acros this kind of situation?
Advance thanks

Hi,
You can resolve your problem using SAP PM, rather than SAP PP, by using the functionality of measuring points and maintenance schedule.
If I were to rephrase your issue, you are looking for a way for the system to notify the shop floor to replace the mold when 450000 impressions are made.
A Preventive maintenance order can be used for this notification, which will be generated from a maintenance schedule based on the number of impressions made thus far. Using the measuring point functionality, you will be able to specify the number of impressions made thus far to the maintenance schedule.
The preventive maintenance order will trigger the purchase of the mold. This document can also be used to report actual cost / time for the replacement of the mold.
You will need to create a maintenance plan for each bottling line.

Anand

  • PRT  Planning & Availability

    Hi gurus,
Can you answer the following questions.
1.Is it possible to do PRT Planning in APO?
2.Is it possible to check availability of PRT in APO?
3.If a PRT is supplied by a Customer, what should be the PRT type we need to use.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
To do the PRT Planning, we need to enhance the enhancement PPAPO002.
Here you have to do the programmin g that at the time of change of operation you should reassign the PRT's. It is very much possible to delete and insert PRT's in production orders using relevant production orders.
At the time of choosing the alternative sequence, this enhancement will be executed.
    Hope this helps you out.

  • BADI for planning PRT with SNP

    Dear Experts ,
I am facing some problems with PRT planning .
I need to send to SNP suboperation from main operation that is using PRT.
How do I plan PRT with SNP PDS ?
How the standard  PRT works with SNP?
For PPDS i am using BADI CUSLNTRTO_ADDIN .... is there any specific BADI for SNP ?
Hope some one can help me ....
    Nice Regards
    Mauricio

I believe, 10 days are because of stock transfer horizon.
I am just guessing over here, in case of Heuristics, you must be planning finished product only.
While CTM plans for entire supply chain. CTM may not have found supply available for semi finished product and is trying to procure it. Hence, distribution receipt is getting created after Stock transfer horizon.

  • MRS: PRT Tool Resource does not appear in Planning Board

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to perform tool assignment but somehow the tool resource does not appear in the planning board.  I have the following set up:
    - Tool created as both material and Equipment (category P)
    - Equipment assigned to work center linked to Org Unit
    - Order with operations created with PRT assigned
What I am seeing in the planning board:
    - I can see the operation with the linked PRT
    - I can see the HR resource under the same work center Org Unit
    - However, I cannot see the Tool resource.
Am I missing somethng here?  Any kind of pointers would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance,
    Jk

Thank you for your response, Varun.
I do have the equipment work center set to be the same as the operation work center.  Also, when I try to add the PRT manually in the planning board, I get 2 error messages:
    "Resource  is not available"
    "Selected equipment 0 is invalid"
    Have you encountered this before?
    Thank and Regards,

  • Need to select all equipments (PRT) for a plan (routing) operation (PLPO)

    hi,
I need to select all assigned equipments (PRT) for a plan (routing) operation (PLPO).
Can anybody tell me the database table relation or is there a function module or a BAPI or something like this !?
    Thanks
    Olaf
Edited by: Olaf Krüger on Feb 20, 2008 12:03 PM:  BADI to BAPI

I suppose you have every PLPO needed (else look at function module WOSTS_TASKLIST_READ_FROM_DB)
    Then read
PLMZ Allocation of bill of material items to operations
    STPO BOM item
SELECT * FROM plmz INTO TABLE t_plmz
        FOR ALL ENTRIES IN t_plpo
        WHERE plnty = t_plpo-plnty
          AND plnnr = t_plpo-plnnr
          AND plnkn = t_plpo-plnkn.
SELECT * FROM stpo INTO TABLE t_stpo
        FOR ALL ENTRIES IN t_plmz
        WHERE stlty = t_plmz-stlty
          AND stlnr = t_plmz-stlnr
          AND stlkn = t_plmz-stlkn.

  • PRT- Maintenance Plan

    Hi Experts,
    Here is my Issue ,
We have Created Maintenance plan for PRT Equipment - for that Measuring point in counter over readg 500 pieces and Annual Estimate also 500 pieces .our Maintenance Package is every 200 cycle.BY confirming the production order exceeds the 200 pieces, the maintenance order also created by measuring document, in this juncture my doubt is , how to maintain the tool life and we wants the tool life is max of 500 pieces only , after exceeding the production order qty 500 pieces , the system will not allow to make production order confermation for that PRT Equipment, what is the settings for that,?
For Example a Planner m/c is Created by M- categary ( plant maintenance) , but the tool in which is used in planner m/c can be created  P- categary ( PRT) .       is it Right?
Tool -life only for 500 pieces , in that how to set for Mainetanacec package? instead of 200 pieces, can we assign 500 pieces?
ok If we set 500 in M.package  , mainetance plan will be created and say tool  is to be replaced, based on the plan we replace the tool and we instal new tool for the planner m/c. now can we create new PRT equipmnet- tool , for the planner m/c ? , For the new TOOL -PRT equipment , can we create new plan for that ? is it Right means what about old plan?
    With  Regards
    SM.Charles Edwin

    HI
    sam,
As per ur requirment My understadnding is wirtten here-
    1. First off, Creat all Tools as PRT Equipment... because in this way only u can generate maintenance plan for them and can perform maintenance.
    2. For track of PRT Usage or Life u have to define a Measuring Point in PRT (Equipment). Whenever production order get confirm a measuring doucment will be posted...
in the Measuring point u can see last entered measurement reading that will reflect usage of PRT.
    3. U have to assign a Maintenance Plan in PRT ( Equipment)
When PRT Usage exeeds certain level..(after confirmation of production order) Maintenace call object would be generated and subsequent maintenance can be carried out.
    4. Besides all these we can not block usage of PRT in Production order.
    5. PRT Must be assigned in Routing ..other wise it won;t work.
    6. so prequesties for PRT Usage and Maintenance is
create Measuring point and a Performance Based Maintenance Plan. and assign it in PRT(Equipment).
    7. in this case don't create PRT as a Material.
If Still in Doubt please ask.

    Amit kushwaha

  • Planning based on availability of prt's

Hi, we plan our prod based on availability of dies. if same die available then only we schedule the prod order on certain day. die are specific to materials. is there any pp functionality whether certain dies are availble on certain day? can we do capacity planning based on availability of dies (prt's). pls help.

    Yadav,
I dont think we can do a capacity planning based on availability of PRT. You can only stop release of the production order based on availability of PRT based on the check defined in OPJK transaction for business transaction 2, for your Plant/Order type combination.

  • PRT in Capacity planning

    Hi Guys,
Can you pl. tell me that does PRT also generate capacity requirements?
Actually i have a scenario where i have 5 w/cs for 5 Hammer m/cs, with 19 hours as available capacity but the dyes which are fitted on these Hammers are only3.
Now can i treat Dyes as PRT which will generate requirements?
Also pl.tell me can i change work center in capacity planning for planned orders?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
PRTs are not taken into account in recipe scheduling or product costing. As PRTs cannot be used in process orders at the moment, they do not affect capacity requirements planning, availability check, or confirmation.
    Hope this helps.

  • PRT's not printed on the SAP standard insp. instruction

    Dear forum,
My client evaluates the possibility to use the insp. instruction program available in standard SAP, the pgm RQEEAS20, SAPScript INSP_INSTRUCTION.
The client is generally satisfied with the layout, but unfortunately the PRT information from the insp. plan is not printed. I have debugged RQEEAS20 and saw that the table G_PRTTAB that is supposed to keep the PRT's and send them to the SAPScript is empty.
Do you have an idea what I may be doing wrong? The control key in the definition of the PRT is 1, which means the PRT shall be printed.
Many thanks in advance for any tips,
    Raf

The interfaces that makes you install correctly an add-on are described under the "Package and Deployment" section of the Help Center. You can download the Help Center from SDN.
You may want to check B1DE (Business One Development Environment): it provides you some wizard that creates the add-on setup and all the accessory files automatically. You can download B1DE from SDN. It is delivered under the SDN license schema.

  • Maintenance Item assignment to a Maintenance Plan

    Dear Expert,
we need some help about the following scenario.
Currently we are working on preventive maintenance in SAP ECC 6.0 system. We have created several maintenance items without assignment to maintenance plans in order to use them like models: to make quickly the creation of a maintenance plan our users can choose the suitable maintenance item from a range.
In these items we have inserted only strategy and maintenance task list but we have not insert the technical object.
We carry out the following steps:
    1. we run transaction IP42;
    2. we insert the maintenance category and the strategy;
    3. in the tab "Item" we press the button "Assign more items";
    4. system runs report RIMPOS00 (Display Maintenance Item: Selection Criteria) in order to select the item to insert in the maintenance plan. In this screen the followin fields are locked (we can not change them):
    - "Maint. plan cat.";
    - "Maintenance strategy";
    - "MaintPlan assignment" and the radio botton is set on "without".
In this way if a maintenance item has been already assigned to a maintenance plan users can not select it for the current plan.
In your opinion could we open the radio buttons for the field "MaintPlan assignment" ? Could anyone help us ?
Thank you very much for your help.
    Kind regards.

    Hi,
    Pl.try following path in SPRO,
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service..Maintenance Plans, Work Centers, Task Lists and PRTs..
Maintenance Plans..Set List Editing for Maintenance Items
After clicking on Execute button u will get a pop up " Customising list editing "Double click on selection do the changes & save.
    It will work i think.
    Pl.try.

  • Rough Cut Planning Profile-by Capacity category

    Hai,
I am creating Rough Cut Planning Profiles in ECC6.0 for use in Standad SOP (S076). In MC35, I don't see a place where I can enter by Work center category- like I want both Machine and Labour categories as I have different times for each category.
    { when I view the rough-cut capacity situation in MC82, system displays both categroies, but it is based on only the hours I maintained for one of the categories- how do I maintain for both categories?}
    Thank you in advance:)
    Sonali
Edited by: Sonali on Apr 28, 2009 3:05 PM

    Hello Sonali,
Rough cut capacity planning is used only  for bottle neck resources.Analyze your process and you will come to know for the product group or material which category or machine is bottleneck.
Create a rought cut planning profile for a production line or Workcenter or PRT or Cost(Relative cost not product cost).
PS:Roughtcut capcity planning should not be used for all the workcenters.
    Thanks,

    Hi Cornelia,
With the link Planning Modeler and Planning Wizard should be opened.
I mean if we click on Start Modeler button in transaction RSPLAN, the link should redirect us to Planning Modeler.
And if we click on Start Wizard button in the transaction RSPLAN, the link should redirect us to Planning Wizard.

Hi, the issue is described in SAP note 1260133. Please note that SPS 14, Patch #3 for the BI-components BI-BASE-S and BIWEBAPP is pretty old. Are there any plans to upgrade your java stack in the near future? Otherwise you won't be able to apply this correction, since recent java corrections are only available for the last 3 SPS. Please have a look at note 1072576 for further information.
If this correction does not solve your issue, please open a message with SAP.
    Best regards,
    Janine
