  • VMS for OEM  : Production Order

    Hi All,
VMS has all the features required  for Automobile Importers. In the 'Make to Stock - Scenario ' , we can create vehicle , purhcase order and get vehicle from the Vendor . But implementing VMS for OEM is not that simple.
Could any VMS expert advise the best solution for the given below scenario.
    Client : An Automobile manufacturer
Scenario: "Make to stock" : Manufactured in the Production Centre of the same company ( kindly note vehicle it is not purchased from vendor ).
I need to create Production order to manufacture a vehicle .
The solution I found here is
    a) Create Vehicle
    2) Create Purchase Order
    3) Create a resevation Sales Order
    4) Run MRP , get planned Order
    5) Planned Order converted to Production Order.
Please advise anyone has better approach.
    Thanks and Regards
    Tom Cruiser

    Tom,
it's easy to implement a new ordering system based on SAP VMS . I've seen some customers who did that .... and all had different approaches. Some were complex, some were suprisingly easy.
It depends .... it really depends on the complete scenario at the customer. Is the customer going to run the production process in the same SAP box? Or is production going to be in searate systems and the VMS is used to "just" handle all vehicles as a central instance?
Your described process is one way, esp. if all is in one box.
An other way is to send vehicle details to the (e.g. model-based selected) production system, and manage the purchase (doc flow) when the vehicle is finished and being moved out of production stock.
    Other experiences?

  • RAC environment setup for OEM Grid Control

    Hi All,
One of my customer is setting up RAC environment for OEM Grid Control, he has following questions.
    1) Can I use the DirectNFS client on each RAC node to mount SAN storage created with an OCFS2 filesystem?
    2) Can I use the DirectNSF client to mount the shared filesystem loader directory?
    3) Should I be using DirectNFS for the shared filesystem loader at all? Or should I just use a normal Linux NFS mount?
    4) Is OCFS2 preferred over NFS for the shared filesystem loader?
    Any information is highly appriciated.

  • Sybase plugin install for oem 12c

Hi, does anyone have the steps for installing sybase agent for oem cloud control 12c. The installation guides talk only about the installation of oracle agents. I want to know how we can install sybase agent in grid control 12c.

I found the below link which sort of explains what I am trying to accomplish, hope this helps. I will write again, once I am successful with my problem.

  • Certified Targets for OEM 10.2 releases

I have few questions on the certified targets for OEM 10.2.0.4
What versions of Oracle Databases can be monitored using the EM 10.2.0.4?
Also are there any drawbacks in monitoring the older versions of oracle viz 9.2 or 9i rel 1 version databases ?
Can we monitor 11g databases with the 10.2.0.4 EM environment?
Also, We have been getting Alerts from the Grid Setup when we have the Agent 10.2* running to monitor 9.2* release database
Message=Agent is Unreachable (REASON = Connection refused). Host is unreachable (REASON = Timed out pinging the host for EMD
Do you know what could be the reason for this Alert when i see everything is up and running..
Let me know if you'l had similar problems/Bugs or fixes applied to remediate this problem
    Thanks

    1. For certification See Note 412431.1 Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Checker.
    2. For the alerts it seems that sometimes OMS unable to ping the agent box to get the availability of the Agent/host,
OMS monitors by verifying agent over HTTP and host over ICMP.

  • Database for OEM repository

    Hi All,
    Greetings...
    I have a question.
Can it be possible to use Oracle XE for OEM repository and what about other editions like Standard also can be used?
Please help me to conclude my requirement for an Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3) installation on winx64.
    regards,
    Noushad

If you are looking to purchase Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c it requires an Oracle database for the repository which would be included in the license so you do not need to worry about the database version. Note if you were to use the the repository database for something other then the OEM repository this would require a database license.
You can confirm this information with your Oracle Rep or review the OEM license information.

  • MAA for OEM

I was reading the white paper on Maximum Availability Architecture for OEM, everything is pretty clear for one portion and I need to get clarification:
    1. For repository, we can use Data Guard,
    2. SLB, we can have global SLB so one site goes out, the other will pick up the work
    3. OMS: Oracle recommened to use Share Loader Storage for both site, this throw me off a little b/c where is the Share Loader Storage will be physically located? Obviously, it had to locate on one site, what if hurricance hit that site and wipe out Shared Loader Storage?
Has anyone implemented this architect before?
    Thanks

Please describe in more detail your planned setup. For example
    Main Site
       SLB
       OMS 1
       OMS 2
       Shared NFS
       OMR
          RAC Node 1
          RAC Node 2
    DR Site
       SLB
       OMS
       OMR (Data Guard)
    1. For repository, we can use Data Guard, Yes
    2. SLB, we can have global SLB so one site goes out,
the other will pick up the workYes
    3. OMS: Oracle recommened to use Share Loader
Storage for both site, this throw me off a little b/c
where is the Share Loader Storage will be physically
located? Obviously, it had to locate on one site,
what if hurricance hit that site and wipe out Shared
Loader Storage? The shared loader storage should be in your primary site. If you are implementing a Global Load Balancer then you need to make sure that this is also replicated to the DR site.
    I think what you have described is;
    SLB
       Main Site
          OMS 1 (Active)
          Upload (Some file system)
          OMR
             RAC Node 1 (Active)
             RAC Node 2 (Active)
       DR Site
          OMS 2 (Active)
          Upload (Replicated files system)
          OMR (Data Guard, Physical Standby)
    Is this correct?

  • NetApp plugin for OEM 12c - DB is not on NFS mounted storage. DB Storage Perf Report empty

Hi, I have installed NetApp Plugin for OEM 12c (12.1.0.3.1) for a Netapp vFiler used for SMO. "Database Storage Utilization" and "Consolidation Database Storage Performance" empty. "Database is not on NFS mounted storage. Hence, no views available." - a. We are using ASM lun created on NFS. Does this means it will not appear in the plugin report ? - b. If point a. is true, is there a way to make the data appear ? I had already verified the BELOW. Only for point 4, I observed MGMT$DB_DATAFILES."OS_STORAGE_ENTITY" is NA (even though the ASM disk is actually on a NFS mount) : 1. Database discovery is done in EM12c . 2. Go to the database “HOST” target in EM 12c and click on the host target on which database resides. From host target drop down, click on “Host-> StorageDetails”. It will launch the “Storage Details” page. Please refer attached screenshot. There is a table displayed on bottom of screen and click on “File Systems” tab and check that your discovered database storage mount point is shown there. (Please note that whenever you define new mount point on host, this list should reflect the change.), otherwise, Database Performance views will not work. This mount point discovery is updated periodically. (It might be possible that DB views are not working because this discovery might not have finished) 3. Please click on NetApp Storage Target type and go to “Target HomePage drop down ->All Metrics”. Please click on “Volume List” metric and confirm if the volume is listed there on which database resides. 4. If all above steps holds good, please execute the below query on EM 12c repository and send the result: SELECT V2.TARGET_NAME, V1.FILESYSTEM, SUBSTR(V1.FILESYSTEM,INSTR(V1.FILESYSTEM,':')+6, (CASE WHEN (INSTR(V1.FILESYSTEM,'/',1,3) > 0) THEN INSTR(V1.FILESYSTEM,'/',1,3) - INSTR(V1.FILESYSTEM,'/',1,2) - 1 ELSE 100 END)) "VOLUMENAME" FROM MGMT$STORAGE_REPORT_NFS V1, MGMT$DB_DATAFILES V2 WHERE V1.MOUNTPOINT = V2.OS_STORAGE_ENTITY and V2.TARGET_NAME=''

Hi Aik, Change in SQLs will not work. There is lot of code for data discovery. We need to have discovery mechanism integrated in our plug-in for ASM LUNS.ASM LUN based database discovery has been planned to support in future release of plug-ins. Can you please share following details about OEM plug-in usage:1. Company Name2. ONTAP OS (cDOT / 7-mode which version)3. Nature of Databases (Only ASM or NFS based)4. Are your currently using this plug-in for NFS databases? If yes, how it helps to simplify your database administration. We will share your feedback to Product Management for support of ASM. Regards,Sachin Maheshwari

  • What is the alternative of F5 BIG-IP LTM Load Balancer for OEM 12c

F5 BIG-IP LTM Load Balancer for OEM 12c
How much it is cost? and is there any free alternative we can use which supported by Oracle?
    Thanks

Apart from F5, Cisco is another SLB vendor. I am not sure about any free alternative though.
Note that regardless what SLB that you pick, it should meet the requirements documented in section 29.3.2.2 of the EM12c Release 3 Administrator's Guide:
The SLB must provide support for multiple virtual server ports. Enterprise Manager typically requires that up to 4 ports are configured on the SLB (Secure Upload, Agent Registration, Secure Console, Unsecure Console)
Support for persistence. HTTP and HTTPS traffic between the browser and the OMS requires persistence
Support for application monitoring. The SLB must be capable of monitoring the health of the OMSs and detecting failures, so that requests will not be routed to OMSs that are not availa

  • Legitimacy of Website for OEM purchase of CS6

    Hi all,
I have just had a typical Adobe support experience. All I wanted to know was whether a website that offers cheap OEM versions of CS6 is a legitimate Adobe reseller and if I buy from them whether I am eligible for future upgrades. Here is the conversation with the (I am guessing automatic) agent. The rudest part is that the 'conversation' was closed without any answer whatsoever. Can anyone here give me an answer to my question?
You are now chatting with Hemant.
Hemant: Hello! Welcome to Adobe Customer Service.
Hemant: May I please have your email address registered with Adobe while I review your request?
    Eric: Either XXXX or XXXX
Hemant: Hey Eric, thank you for the information, how are you doing today?
    Eric: Good thanks
Hemant: How you want me to assist you with ?
Eric: I already provided that information in the original request
Hemant: Please elaborate your issue Eric.
Eric: I am about to buy a discounted OEM version of CS6, however, I am not sure if the OEM version will give me the right to upgrade to CS7. Could you please let me know whether this is possible? The website where I intend buying is: http://... (URL removed by moderator due to it being a purveyor of illegal goods)
Hemant: Eric please allow me a moment.
Hemant: Eric, we havnt launched any thing related to CS7.
Hemant: I am so sorry to keep you on wait. My system got freezed.
Eric: That is not the question. The question is whether I can upgrade to CS7 in the future if I buy the OEM version of the website that I sent you?
Eric: http://... (URL removed by moderator due to it being a purveyor of illegal goods)
Hemant: Eric, I can not say anything until unless its launched.
Eric: Hemant, all I want to know is whether the website that I sent you is a legitimate Adobe reseller and if I buy from them whether I am eligible for future upgrades, regardless of whether they are called CS7?
Eric: Have you actually looked at the link/website that I sent through?
Thank you for chatting with us. Please click the "Close" button on the top right of the chat window to tell us how we did today.
Adobe has the worst customer service I have ever come across - Every time I have contacted them over the last few years in regards to my legitimately bought products I had a similar experience. On two other occasions my question was not answered and instead the (automatic) agents tried to sell me a subscription to the online access. They used the exact same paragraphs for this.
I would truly appreciate any concise answers.
I look forward to hearing from you,
    Eric

There is no such thing as an OEM version of the Adobe Creative Suite. The website you cited is offering either pirated software or illegally unbundled software (from bulk licenses). Either way, whatever the next set of Adobe products is, you won't be able to upgrade from illegal software! In fact, this stuff might not even work at all or could refuse to activate.
By the way, for what it is worth, these forums are not part of Adobe support. Although some Adobe employees do participate, this is really an end-user community here.
              - Dov
PS: I've modified the URLs you posted since they point to an illegal enterprise!

  • New features for OEM

How do I get new feature requests into oracle?
My main request, is an overhaul of the OEM homepage - Auto Refereshing set on, and geared more around the critical alerts and warnings, plus performance information. As it is there isn't a single page I can leave OEM on and get an up to date picture of our overall environment, without manually refreshing the home page and then navigating through several pages.
This gives me no excuse to ask for a plasma screen on the office wall, with OEM alerts on, amongst other important non-movie related items.
    Edited by: user457649 on Oct 2, 2008 4:16 PM

    Hi,
I am using the Dashboards in OEM to give an overview of the status and availability of our oracle environment and are using this dashboard on a screen on the wall. The dashboard will auto refresh.
First create a system which is a set of components that defines the system. I have 3 Oracle HTTP servers that I have defined as a system named 'HTTP System'.
Then create a generic service 'HTTP Services' and add the system you have just created. In this generic service you can define the availability and the service level rule.
Then go to the 'Reports' tab and mark the dashboard 'Services Monitoring Dashboard' and click 'Create Like'. Name your new report 'HTTP Dashboard', select 'Use the specified target' and go to the Elements tab.
Now click the 'Set Parameters' - Select the generic service 'HTTP Services' - click continue and then OK.
Open your report 'HTTP Dashboard'. This dashboard will show you the status and service level of the specified service and it will auto-refresh. If you want some performance and usage metrics on the dashboard you have to configure them in the generic service. When configuring performance and usage metrics it is also possible to define warning and critical thresholds and if the metric goes above the threshold you will be able to see that on the dashboard.
You can create more generic services and add them to you dashboard so that it eventually will give an overview of your environment.
Further information see the Oracle Enterprise Manager Concepts - Service Management.

  • Process flow Deployment for OEM

    OWB 9.2.

    Hi Igor,
    Thnx for your response.
I did look already to viewlet but this is the way to schedule jobs to run mappings which are PL/SQL packages.
What i try to do is defining in the OWB tool a process flow and a deployment location for this process flow and there i can't choose to define a location of the OEM type.
I would expect that OWB generates specific code or package for this process flow that i can scheduled using OEM and the oem template.
I will check the things you mentioned maybe they are related but i would be surprised. I would not expect that OWB tool is so depended of the deployment environment.
