I took advantage of the $9.99 photography membership for the creative cloud which should include ps and lr5 but lr5 isn't on my list to download. Am I doing something wrong?

The CC install has Photoshop CC listed and is install it but I don't see LR CC. How do I install the CC version of LR5?

The current version of Lightroom available is Lightroom 5.2. This is the version currently included with the Photoshop and Lightroom membership. If you already have an exisiting license for Lightroom then you can continue to utilize your previous installation. If you wish to remove your perpetual license and begin to utilize the license for Photoshop Lightroom included with your membership then you will need to remove and reinstall the software. New Laptop for PS CS6 and LR5

I have a new Windows 8 laptop and need to install PS CS6 (an upgrade on former laptop) and LR5 (also an upgrade). The new laptop doesn't have an optical drive. I also can't locate my PShop serial number.

Since todays updates to PS CC and LR5.4 LR's "Edit in" options dimmed

Since todays updates to PS CC and LR5.4 LR's "Edit in" options dimmed in both the Photo -> Edit in ... menu and the contextual menu. I've tried tossing the Photoshop.plist and relaunching Photoshop CC then relaunching LR also rebooting machine. LR preferences for external editor recognize Photoshop CC and do not allow a change to primary editor. Any tips, hints, or way to go back to LR 5.3? I'm on a deadline and this is a real time suck to manually export, edit, reimport... next photo, repeat...

Okay, so after all of that, the issue is that I have Smart Previews activated so I can edit within LR fine but any option to Edit in... anything else is grayed out. That makes sense, but there really should be a dialog reminding us ideally with an option to located/connect the actual images.

Using Photoshop CC and LR5 (offer for £8.78)

I am thinking of taking up this offer. I have PS Elements 11 and LR5 already but think that PS CC will be better for me with more options. Sorry it is in the LR5 forum but couldn't find any suitable so here goes: Should I completely uninstall LR5 and PS Elements 11 before I setup PS CC and LR5 from the cloud? My photos are store on one of my drives in the Format of Year with the relevant months folders underneath. e.g 2010/01 Jan etc. Any thoughts on this would be gratefully received.
Also what are your thoughts on PS CC and LR5 Cloud?

I originally had the standalone LR5 as well as the perpetual-licensed CS6. When the PS-CC+LR5-CC was announced I signed up for that, which seems like what you’re thinking of doing, except you have PSE11 instead of CS6.
You will need to uninstall the standalone LR5 but you can leave PSE11 if you want, then do a trial of the Photogarphers Progarm if that is an option, just to make sure PS-CC (2014) is compatible with your system.
As long as you crossgrade from standalone LR5 to CC-LR5 your catalogs and photos will work the same and you shouldn’t notice any difference except maybe a Cloud Sync login when you start LR. The only difference between the two is licensing so you’ll have to be logged in to the creative cloud to use LR5 instead of typing in a serial number after installing it. Your old license for standalone LR5 will still be valid and you can actually install it on two other computers if you really want to have more than 2 active at a time. Of course it’s still tied to you so if you want to give it to someone else, then there is a transfer of license process. I have kept mine in reserve in case Adobe does something undesirable with LR 6 or the cloud and I decide to not use the cloud anymore. Make sure you can find your serial number for the standalone LR5 on Adobe .com before you do anything, that way you have it somewhere, in case you need to revert back to it.

I am using MAC OSX 10.9.4 and LR5 Ver 5.6. I can't drag LR to my second screen. It's always worked before. All of my other apps drag to the second screen with no issues. I've re-booted my computer and it did't help. Any ideas???

Make sure you are not in one of the full screen modes.
Window > Screen Mode > Normal

Convert PS6 and LR5 to mac

I purchased the windows version of PS6 extended and LR5.
I am now migrating from windows to MAC. Do I have to re-purchase the programs or can I 'exchange' my windows version for MAC version?

I believe the LR5 license serial number works on Mac as well. Just run the Mac installer and enter your s/n.

Why do I get Colored bands on some images in LR4 and LR5, but not in Aperture?

On some images -- both RAW and JPG -- when opened in LR4 or LR5, there will be one or two "curved" color abberation lines across the entire image. This doesn't occur when I open the images in Aperture. Any idea why? Thanks

Aperture works the same way as Lightroom in this respect. It will first show you the embedded jpeg and will render a new conversion from the raw data as soon as it can. So it is possible the OP saw the embedded jpeg, but that should not last long and certainly by now should have been replaced with a newly rendered preview. Either Aperture is more forgiving of a small defect in the raw file or Lightroom import is somehow getting corrupt files of the sd card and Aperture not (would be weird). Another option is that the camera raw cache is corrupt. This can be checked by emptying the cache (Preferences->File Handling->Purge Cache). Lastly, this might be a corrupt preview in Lightroom. Check this by zooming 1:1 on an offending area in the Develop module and seeing if it goes away.

I believe you are right. I remember vaguely that there is some default lens correction with some cameras like this that is independent of the lens correction module. No clue whether the LX7 is one.

How to merge PS CC and LR5.2 in CC?

Long time user of both PS and LR here. I had PS 5 installed and upgraded to PS CC for $9.95/month. I also have LR 5.2 installed. I got this email from Adobe:

When I log into CC it shows I have PS and invites me to download and install LR, but I don't need to do that, I just need to merge LR into CC. Will Adobe do that some day (as the email implies)? Or do I need to take some sort of action? I certainly don't want two copies of LR installed.

Samba winbind and group membership.

I have a Solaris 10 (update 4) box (x86) that is joined to an active directory via samba/winbind.
The users are working fine however their group membership is not.
Users that should be members of certain groups do not seem to be: in that if I run
"groups" and check the group member ship for myself I am missing entry of some groups yet I can verify that I should be a member of that group by running getent group "domain\\group name" and seing my username entered.
winbind has the following parameters set
winbind enum users = yes
winbind enum groups = yes
winbind nested groups = yes
I am at a loss as to why it picks up some groups and not others.
Has anyone come across something similar or know how to solve this issue?
